  8. Beotodus
  9.
  10. Length: 1661.99cm
  11. Height: 607.02cm
  12. Foot Size: 192cm
  13.
  14. A Piscine Wyvern species that has been confirmed to swim around in the snow in the Hoarfrost Reach. It likes deep snow and moves well, pushing through the snow with its pointed head. Its main territory is the southern area near coniferous forests, and it has been been seen sunbathing near hot springs. The carnivorous Beotodus preys on herbivorous Popo. When it sneaks up on its prey from the snow, it pounces on it when it sees and opening and stabs it with a deadly sharp blow. Against enemies, in addition to using its body as a weapon by swinging its head and tail, it also uses its leg fins to throw the snow that covers its body off, showing off its attack methods. Be particularly vigilant in areas with deep snow.
  15.
  16. Beotodus, which migrates as if swimming in the snow, are said to be rarely seen above ground. Although it can walk on two legs on the ground, it doesn't seem to be very good at it. On the ground, it prefers places where relatively soft snow accumulates, and rarely appears on frozen hard ground. On the other hand, they tend to have an extremely strong sense of territory due to their limited range of activity. It's often witnessed engaging in fierce territorial disputes with Banbaro, who shares its habitat, despite their different eating habits.
  17.
  18. In a territorial dispute with Banbaro, it uses its whole body to wrap around, which is unique to Piscine Wyverns.
  19.
  20. Beotodus's weakpoint is its legs. You have to drag it out of the snow to hit it.
  21.
  22. Beotodus are ovoviviparous, and hatch eggs in the womb. In ovoviviparity, in principle, they don't receive nutrition from the mtoher's body and grow in the womb with the nutrition contained in the egg, but when the hatchlings of Beotodus run out of nutrition in the egg, they cannibalize in the womb. As a result, 2 or 3 individuals with high viability survive and are born outside the womb. It can be said that it's an effective strategy for a species to allow stronger individuals to survive.
  23.
  24. A distinctive feature that distinguishes it from other Piscine Wyverns is the sloping ridges of the shell on the sides of the head and on he thighs. Both shapes must have evolved to make them slippery on snow. In particular, the protuberances on its thighs are called "fins" for convenience, and they seem to skillfully use them to steer in the snow. Its tail fins and the fins on its legs create a strong propulsive force when moving in the snow, and the fins on its thighs roll up the snow. By covering its prey with them, it takes away their endurance and hunts them down, However, as it's both an important organ and a weakpoint for Beotodus, it's considered a target when confronting it.
  25.
  26. Since its body is covered in snow, it scatters snow when attacking with its fins or head, so you want to prioritize breaking them.
  27.
  28. The pointed top of the head is essential for shoveling snow. Grooves and slopes suitable for snow removal are formed from the tip of the head to the rear.
  29.
  30. Because they often have snow attached to their bodies, they rarely expose their bellies. It's also the origin of its blanc name, which means blizzard or white.
  31.
  32. Beotodus doesn't like the state of its flesh, so when a large amount of snow falls off its body, it burrows into the snow and spins around to reapply the snow.
  33.
  34. The top of the head, which is characterized by a sharp shape that allows it to push through snow, is made hard and sturdy for its role. Naturally, it can also be used as a means of attack, so you'll need to be on your guard against slamming and charging.
  35.
  36. Although it swims in the snow, it can be said that it's half-deep in normal times. If you look closely, you can see the sharp head tearing through the deep snow as it moves. In fact, at this time, Beotodus seems to be breathing through the nostrils on its head. That alone is surprising, but the question of how it grasps the position of objects in the snow is inexhaustible. Apparently, it also has the function of sonar that senses vibrations. Therefore, when it's completely submerged in the snow, it will be strongly affected by the Slinger's Sonic Pod and will jump out from the noise in surprise. (From a biologist's notes)
  37.
  38. On the snow, they can be seen visually assessing the situation. The sight of it restlessly looking around itself is adorable, but it also has surprisingly high kinetic vision and can sharply capture the movements of its prey.
  39.
  40. It can be seen from the shape of its teeth, which have a number of sharply developed cusps growing vertically, that they're carnivorous. As a spear, it pierces its prey with its teeth, twists its head or whole body as it bites, eats the body, tears it apart, and gets the pieces of meat into its stomach in the form of swallowing them whole. It's also known that when it's tired, it reacts to meat bait placed by investigators.
  41.
  42. It has a small forehead and doesn't have many teeth. It would force its cusp teeth into prey firmly and devour it with all its might.,

  47. There are many returning Monsters in "MHW:IB", but since it's a story about heading to a new world as a research team, this one appears first. I wanted to make the Monsters new. Also, in "MHW", no elements were a stable ending point, so in the game design of "MHW:IB", the play of elements, such as controlling the elements that are effective against Monsters, I wanted to make people feel that.
  48.
  49. So, we decided to have them encounter a new Monster that specializes in snow, and let them experience the Ice Element once again. Beotodus's ability to burrow into the snow was also a good match for experiencing the new map, the Hoarfrost Reach. So, based on Jyuratodus who dives into the mud, it was made a tutorial Monster that has been adjusted in a direction that makes it easier to watch its position.
  50.
  51. However, if you use the Clutch Claw, you can easily capture it, but it seems that there were many people who weren't good at confronting it because it was the first Master Rank monster and the movement was a little tricky. I myself forgot my cold-resistant clothes when I went to check on him, and I have a terrible memory (laughs).

  58. Banbaro
  59.
  60. Length: 2404.84cm
  61. Height: 737.15cm
  62. Foot Size: 158cm
  63.
  64. A Brute Wyvern species encountered in the Hoarfrost Reach, it has two horns that have developed enough to cover its head and are equipped with tremendous rushing power. Its appearance is exactly that of a ferocious bull. It rushes forward while scraping the ground with its horns, and although it sometimes shows a calm and dull demeanour against large trees, it mercilessly attacks the target it regards as an enemy that ignites its fighting spirit. Also, in the Hoarfrost Reach, the territory is very wide, and it roams the mountainous areas near coniferous forests. Due to its thick fur, it was though to be a species specialized for living in cold regions, but it soon began to be seen in various parts of the New World, surprising researchers.
  65.
  66. Usually, it's gentle, and even if an investigator approaches it, it will look at it, but it rarely shows aggressive behaviour. On the other, if hit by even one stone, it brandishes its two huge horns, and lives up to the name of "Ferocious Bull Wyvern", attacking in an unexpected charge. Due to the aggressive nature of Banbaro, who shares its habitant in the Hoarfrost Reach, it can be considered that it has evolved into a creature that completely eliminates what it judges as an enemy. It's said that the name "Banbaro" was derived from the sound of an old language used by the Boaboa. It seems that Banbaro, who isn't afraid of anything and doesn't back down when it comes to battle, is envied by them as a symbol of respect.
  67.
  68. Even Banbaro, who are herbivorous and have a gentle personality, harbour hostility toward those who invade their territory and harm them.
  69.
  70. In addition to the threat of the charging itself, it's also necessary to be wary of the earth, sand, and rocks that have been scraped off the ground and gathered in large chunks. If there is any, it will try to eliminate an enemy by placing them on the ground as a large obstacle and destroying it with its own charge and scattering the fragments.
  71.
  72. It easily throws huge lumps of sand and snow into the distance. Its strength is overwhelming.
  73.
  74. The characteristic behaviour of Banbaro, "the act of digging up the ground with its giant horns", stems from its food habits. By using its horns to knock down trees or dig up snow-filled ground, it feeds on the soft roots and shoots of trees in the ground. In addition, it preys on the larvae of insects dug up at the time, and seems to use them as a protein source. Such actions also have the effect of plowing the soil of the land. Bacteria and microorganisms in the ground react and promote the germination of plants.
  75.
  76. The new shoots become food for small herbivores, which are then eaten by carnivores, maintaining the ecosystem cycle.
  77.
  78. In addition to the two characteristic horns on its head, it actually has one more hidden horn. It's the part called the nose horn that grows on the tip of the nose. At first glance, it looks like a shell, but it's a real horn that can be opened and closed freely. This nose horn and the two head horns are used to hold fallen trees in place. It should be noted that this nose horn seems to stand up when it's excited.
  79.
  80. Depending on the soil dug up, the properties of the earth and sand collected at the tip of the horn also differ. Mud clumps, lava clumps, miasma-filled clumps, etc., will also have different elements, so consider how to deal with them.
  81.
  82. Ever since the research team first encountered it in the Hoarfrost Reach, Banbaro can be seen in various parts of the New World. It's thought that some of them moved into other lands because food for them decreased due to further cooling, but their ability to adapt to the environment is astonishing. It can be said that temperature change is the biggest barrier to habitat change. However, Banbaro has been found to have very good thermoregulatory function. When its body temperature drops, it creates a space between its shell plates that doesn't come into contact with the outside air to keep warm. When its body temperature rises, it spreads its shell like a heat sink to cool it down. It's possible that these factors demonstrate the ability to adapt to the environment, ignoring temperature changes. However, it seems that there are few individuals who stay long in lands shrouded in Miasma and scorching heat. (Records of a certain investigator)
  83.
  84. There's a large amount of fur from the neck to the back, so the change in the shell isn't very noticeable. It's a minor change, but it seems to be related to Banbaro's ability to adapt to the environment.
  85.
  86. Banbaro's rear legs, which support its huge body and generate a powerful charging force, are also astonishing. On the other hand, when it becomes agitated due to anger and other factors, from observing its body, we find that a part of the shell, such as the back, stands up. It seems to regulate its body temperature by creating gaps between overlapping shell plates. At the same time, the nose horn also opens and stands up. Therefore, it's more obvious that its attacks using its horns become more severe in an excited state.
  87.
  88. The head hidden in the huge horns and the hind legs that are the starting point of the charge are soft and fleshy, so they will be good to attack when confronted. Also, while charging, it seems to be vulnerable to external impacts, and there are also reports that it fell over after being hit by Scatternuts and Crystalbursts. As for resistance to elements, although it's weak against Dragon Element, it can be said that it's a form that suggests a high level of environmental adaptability.

  92.
  93. With a design that makes it easy for players and other Monsters to interact with it, it appears early in the story, and with a very simple rush as its main feature, it's a Monster that makes it easy to experience new actions such as the Clutch Claw.
  94.
  95. Also, although I mainly made Monsters in their own areas, I wanted to create a Monster with simple movements that could be put out anywhere in the game. So it was decided from the beginning that Banbaro would be used. This is because "MHW" is a game design in which many Monsters appear in the same area, such as fighting for territory, and you can use or avoid them, so it's a simple rush that makes it easy to interact with various Monsters. You wanted to put out a type of Monster. If the Monsters involved in everything are technical characters, it will be difficult to control the difficulty level, so if the Monsters are reckless and have simple movements, they will be easy to deal with even if they get involved with other Monsters. I thought it would be easy to make arrangements. That said, charging alone isn't enough, and since "MHW" puts a lot of emphasis on the environment and ecology, I made a Monster whose charging ability changes depending on the area where it appears.

  102. Shrieking Legiana
  103.
  104. Length: 1831.69cm
  105. Height: 480.79cm
  106. Foot Size: 319cm
  107.
  108. A Variant of the Legiana species that inhabits the Coral Highlands, and its appearance has been confirmed in the Hoarfrost Reach. Characterized by the freezing white frost that covers its whole body, it's called the Legiana that freezes and stings from the stinging sensation when touched. Compared to the normal species, it handles colder air more powerfully, and it also exhibits new characters adapted to cold climates. In addition, it seems that there are excellent points in terms of flight ability and mobility. The cold air it emits freezes its prey, corners it, and captures it from overhead. The habit of following the normal species to eliminate enemies has also been confirmed, and even though they are the same Wind Drifting Wyvern, the difference in its rank is clear.
  109.
  110. Legiana clad in white frost... Soaring through the skies and dropping frost on the ground, its appearance is the pinnacle of wind and nobility.
  111.
  112. Some Legiana have adapted to the extremely cold environment and have undergone peculiar changes. They're called "Shrieking Legiana" to distinguish them from the normal species. It's said that Legiana doesn't have a habit of migrating, but it has excellent sensory organs and homing instincts, and any change in the environment affects those sensory organs, causing them to go mad, causing large-scale damage. This is thought to have forced them to migrate. Including the possibility that Legiana has inhabited the Hoarfrost Reach where it migrated from long ago, further investigation is necessary regarding the process and causal relationship that led to the acquisiton of this peculiarity.
  113.
  114. A Variant that manifests a powerful coldness that covers its body with white frost. Not all of the Legiana have adapted to the cold environment, and there are Legiana who live in the Hoarfrost Reach but still retain their normal ecology.
  115.
  116. The normal species of Legiana have a Freeze Sac inside their body, and a special liquid released through the secretory glands reacts with moisture in the air to create ice. While adapting to cold climates as a Variant, it's likely that these organs and their abilities developed tremendously, giving it the ability to attach frost to its body like a frozen thorn. Due to the synergistic effect of increased liquid secretion and the cold climate, it amplifies cold air to a degree that's incomparable to that of the normal species. The parts covered frost are called "Frost-Covered State". The areas where secretory glands are particularly concentrated are the thorax, hind legs, and tail. The danger is extremely high, as it creates ice blocks over a wide areas as it attacks with its lunges, claws, and tail.
  117.
  118. In a frosty state that scretes a large amount of freezing liquid, it creates a mass of cold air at the same time as it attacks. Beware of the frost remaining on the ground.
  119.
  120. The body colour appears whitish, probably because frost adheres along the secretory glands. The Freeze Sac is distinguished from the organs normally possessed by the species and is called a "Cryo Sac".
  121.
  122. Compared to the normal species, the range of attacks with the claws on its hind legs is expanded. Also, the frost covering on its chest not only accompanies cold air to its charge, but it also seems to affect the width of the cold it shoots from its tail.
  123.
  124. A frost-covered state that appears over time or when it gets angry. It shoots cold air straight from its chest and radially from its tail. Ice resistance has been confirmed to be useful against large elemental attacks, as well as the Slinger's Torch Pods. In addition, a decrease in offensive power due to the destruction of body parts was also observed.
  125.
  126. It has been reported that Legianas that have a habit of looking around and those that sting in the cold seem to have a favourite foothold. In the steep valleys of the mountainous areas they're said to belong to in the Hoarfrost Reach, there is a sheer rock that looks like a remote island. It's said to show signs of confirming the safety of its position and area, literally "watching from a high place" such as high places where terrestrial creatures, including investigators, cannot touch. It may be a sign of leeway. (From an investigator who likes a certain Wind Drifting Wyvern)
  127.
  128. When hunting in its territory in cold climates, this species prefers preying on Anteka. This is probably because, for the normal species that preys on Wingdrakes such as Raphinos, in cold climates they have more flesh than Wingdrakes and can take in more nutrients such as fat and protein. Because it occupies the northern mountainous region, it's not usually seen, but when it's greatly exhausted from a battle, it has been seen descending to the snowfields at the foot of the mountain to prey on Popo.
  129.
  130. The Legiana in the Hoarfrost Reach live in groups, and sometimes this Variant and the normal species cooperate to hunt. It calls its allies with its characteristic shriek and works with its partner to hunt down its prey. At that time, the normal one gets backing and becomes bullish, and the main one leaves the hunting to the normal one and keeps a distance and unleashes a big move to keep it in check. Usually the species looks out for itself. And when it is weakened, the Variant takes advantage of the danger and anger to call Legiana, but the only time it usually calls the normal species is when it returns to the nest in a dying state.
  131.
  132. Many researchers believe that sending Popo out as prey would make hunting easier in open snowfields. For the Popo, who was separated from its family, it was nothing but a nuisance.
  133.
  134. The great technique for killing prey is commonly known as the "Hunting Dive". It freezes a wide area of the ground to limit escape routes, and then swoops down from the sky to attack its prey. Also, usually a Legiana joins the fray if it gets into a pinch.
  135.
  136. This Variant doesn't prey on Wingdrakes during normal times, but only when it's exhausted will it prey on Cortos flying around nearby. Although it excels at flying, and makes full use of stepping around, various assaults, and combo attacks, it's somewhat larger than the normal species and isn't good at ground battles, so it probably wants to quickly recover from fatigue. Furthermore, it's surprising that if it's in a battle with an enemy, it'll throw the leftover corpse at the opponent. On the other hand, like the normal species, it's weak against Poison that upsets internal organs. When it falls into a poisoned state, its movement slows down, and the threat of a big move is nowhere to be seen.
  137.
  138. =
  139. (PRODUCTION NOTE - Kaname Fujioka)
  140.
  141. It's a purely enhanced Variant of Legiana. It doesn't go around the bush, and usually has a clear and strong shape of the seed. Since Legiana is a Monster that has the ability to inhale cold air when it flies and turn it into ice crystals, the Shrieking Legiana always overflows with that ability. Individuals that have adapted to the cold regions they migrated to have strengthened their abilities. It's true that its normal form is the result of Legiana's long-term habituation and acclimatization, but we still don't know for sure if Legiana originally inhabited the Hoarfrost Reach.
  142.
  143. Also, when I talk about the migration this time, the reason why I used Legiana in the story is that it goes well with cold regions, but the Apex of the Coral Highlands appears in the Ancient Forest. Moreover, the phenomenon of flying in a large flock matched well with the sense of incongruity that made me feel that something might happen in the future. Even if Pukei-Pukei flew away over there, it would be cute in its own way, but it would lack mystery (laughs).

  150. Fulgur Anjanath
  151.
  152. Length: 1646.46cm
  153. Height: 625.75cm
  154. Foot Size: 182cm
  155.
  156. A Brute Wyvern species that's considered to be a Subspecies of Anjanath, encountered in the Hoarfrost Reach. Its greatest feature is that it has the ability to charge electricity, unlike the normal species that makes full use of flames. Because of its ferocious attacks with its belted jaws, it has the alias of "Thunder Jaw Wyvern". While possessing strong physical abilities, it's able to use the power of electricity to amplify its astonishing power. Also noteworthy is the high environmental adaptability that makes use of its characteristics, and its appearance has been confirmed in almost all areas of the New World. As a result, it has been witnessed preying on a variety of Small Monsters, including Popo. Because they're even more ferocious than the normal species, it's said that territorial disputes frequently occur in various places.
  157.
  158. It has the property of storing electricity in the skin around its mouth and back with each attack, and strengthening its body with the power of lightning.
  159.
  160. It has been confirmed that the Fulgur Anjanath, which accumulates the electricity generated by its movements within its body, has a power-generating organ in which muscle cells have changed, and that certain movements such as attacking are accompanied by the action of storing electricity. If forced to attack with a bite attack, you'll be able to clearly see the electricity running through its mouth. The high level of aggression, such as continuous biting and mow-down, surpasses that of the normal species. It seems that even the bite from the roundabout has increased strength due to the momentary accumulation. In addition, if it becomes excited, it's extremely dangerous because the amount of power it carries increases as the amount of movement increases.
  161.
  162. Because its jaws are so strong, even a seemingly simple biting act will generate electricity. Even with other actions, the electricity seems to be gradually applied.
  163.
  164. Fulgur Anjanath has a wing-like sail formed of curved cartilage extending from the hipbone. The sail is densely packed with capillaries and is used for body temperature regulation, which is the same as that of the normal species. It's not used for flying, but is used to warm the body by sunbathing and to dissipate heat that has increased significantly due to excitement. Many people are probably familiar with this appearance, which is rare among Brute Wyverns. On the other hand, it's also a part where a large amount of electricity is generated through the Lightning Sac, and it can be said that it plays a more important role for this Subspecies. Regarding the nasal cavity, ecology similar to that of the normal species was confirmed. It spurts mucus from its large, exposed nostrils to mark and attack. However, this is also an important part of the electricity storage connected to the oral cavity.
  165.
  166. Its wings and nostrils are normally closed, and are opened and closed as needed. It's the same as the normal species in that it keeps both of them open when it's in a state of excitement.
  167.
  168. It has a white skin, a yellow head, white body hair from the neck to the back, and black stripes all over its body. It's easy to imagine its role as a protective colour in cold climates.
  169.
  170. As for the tail, it was confirmed that it has the same raised hair as that of the normal species. A portion of its hair is used for bristled attacks and electricity storage. It's also thought that there is a role of grounding to release and control electricity.
  171.
  172. Open the nasal lids as if turning them up, and notice the nasal cavities. In this state, mucus is dispersed from the nasal cavity. It was found that the mucus produced by this species has the property of being easily charged.
  173.
  174. In the electrified state, mucus and bites, later deodorization, are also accompanied by electric shocks. It has a wide attack range and Thunder Element, so you need to be careful even if you get hit. An attack that unleashes an electric shock to the surrounding ground that bites into the ground is also a threat.
  175.
  176. After its discovery by the survey team in the Hoarfrost Reach, an influx of Fulgur Anjanath was seen in various parts of the New World. One of the factors that has been investigated is the relationship of ecological attributes. Monsters with Thunder Element are extremely rare in the New World, except for the mythical Kirin, with only the Tobi-Kadachi living in the Ancient Forest (later Rajang joins in, but in an environment where there are few animals with the element). Since it doesn't need to deal with that element, it's unlikely that it's evolved to be Thunder-resistant. One thing can be said to be one of the reasons for this argument: excellent thermoregulatory function, and a strong appetite that can eat even the meat bait set by investigators. This seems to give rise to high adaptability to the environment. (Recorded by a certain researcher)
  177.
  178. It has been found that Fulgur Anjanath gradually strengthens its stored state by generating power as it attacks. The strong static electricity causes the fur to stand on end, and gradually the oral cavity, nasal cavity, and wing-like coverings begin to show strong luminescence. The stored power is believed to act on muscle cells, greatly improving its physical abilities. You can see the extent of the threat in the strengthening of the offensive action that gains momentum and the addition of the Thunder Element. In addition it seems that flesh other than the nasal cavity is hardened.
  179.
  180. An electric state in which the fur stands on end and the skin emits a bluish-white light. The glow is always spread during the electric state, and it's in a state like it's wearing a mask in conjunction with the oral cavity.
  181.
  182. When it's exhausted, it can't store electricity and doesn't become charged, but when it gets excited with anger, it suddenly becomes charged. It has been reported that it can be completely discharged by unleashing a big move, or the charge state will be released by attacks to the head.
  183.
  184. In an electrified state, the toughness of the entire body increases, making it difficult to aim for flinching or falling. On the other hand, it's possible to release the electrified state by continuously attacking the head and causing it to fall over.
  185.

  188.
  189. In anticipation of the emergence of strong Subspecies of Monsters that evolve into Monsters that can manipulate their body without changing the image of the Monsters, first of all, as a trigger for this, have them experience "What is a Subspecies?" and have them appear as Monsters. I got it. I would say that he's the top batter to make him experience the different between the normal and Subspecies, and to make him a little different. In terms of planning, he thinks about elements like other Subspecies. Around this time, there was an opinion that they wanted a Thunder Element, and Anjanath himself was basically a plain design with no main element, so he decided to use Thunder. That said, Fulgur Anjanath was also created to be able to appear in various places, just like Banbaro, so it just happens that it first appeared in the Hoarfrost Reach in the story.
  190.
  191. However, it's not for people who suddenly drop their stomachs or vomit presses. I got it. That's the approach of making use of your own electrification in attacks, and the biting action is enhanced with Thunder. I think that he was able to successfully incorporate the elements into a Monster without changing the impression of the normal one's physical build.

  199.
  200. Length: 2372.44cm
  201. Height: 874.44cm
  202. Foot Size: 161cm
  203.
  204. A Subspecies of Glavenus that has been confirmed to inhabit the Rotten Vale. Its huge tail, which is also the biggest feature of its kind, has a highly corrosive liquid crystallized on it, and every time it shakes its tail, it scatters it around itself. Due to the fact that it emits crystals that look like sulfur and a liquid that corrodes armour like sulfuric acid, it is also known as the "Sulfuric Wyvern". Compared to its normal species, its tail is slender but sharp, and it corners things with its supple slashes and continuous thrusts. The way it's handled is just like a Longsword. Just like the normal species, it still maintains the requesting body opening due to its strong legs, which is typical of Brute Wyverns. However, this Subspecies is thought to have an ecology that relies on energy, and there have been no reports of activity in places where energy isn't visible.
  205.
  206. I would like to draw attention to the research report that the Acidic Glavenus is equipped with an organ that separates the Effluvium that enters the body through food and breathing from toxic substances. It's said that it has a mechanism to excrete the toxic substances extracted by decomposition of the Effluvium as a corrosive liquid from the secretory glands on the tail's sides. When exposed to air outside the body, the liquid instantly crystallizes and sticks to its tail; it uses its corrosiveness as a weapon. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that it's not just about overcoming toxic substances, but also reusing it as its own weapon, making it the best solution for the environment. As Wingdrakes that are carnivorous and can live in an environment full of energy, Raphinos are what it preys on. Of course, there's no problem even if they have been affected by the Effluvium. In addition, the various toxicities of the trap meat set by investigators also showed a slight effect.
  207.
  208. A Subspecies that has overcome the toxicity of Effluvium and acquired the technique of using it as its own weapon. Also known as its Corrosion Blade, its long tail is extremely deadly.
  209.
  210. The corrosive acid secreted from its tail is crystallized and wrapped around it. Because of this, even in its normal state, the tail is covered with fine acid crystals. When it actively moves its tail in battle, the secretory glands are activated and the amount of acid secreted icnreases. Gradually, the encrusted crystal grows larger. The state in which acid crystals have grown extremely large is called "Crystal-Increased State", and the danger of this state is well-known. This is to scatter acid crystals when attacking enemies with their tails, such as mowing down or hitting them. Since acid corrodes armour, it will be necessary to take measures to reduce Defense Down. However, this state doesn't seem to be what it should be for Acidic Glavenus. After a while, it scraps off the crystals with the fangs on its mouth, and takes action to restore the original shape of its tail.
  211.
  212. Even in normal times, the tip of its tail is covered in acid crystals. Research results have shown that elemental attacks, starting with the Fire Element, are effective due to the characteristics of the Effluvium.
  213.
  214. For the sake of convenience, the state in which the crystal-increased tail is ground in minutes and the acid is removed is called the "Sharpening State". The sharpness and power of its attacks increase, but the strength of its tail decreases, making it possible to cut.
  215.
  216. After it transitions from a Crystal-Increased State to a sharpening state in a battle with an enemy, it naturally returns to its normal state due to the secretion of acid. It's said that both its movements and the sharpness of its tail become dull in its Crystal-Increased State, but in Sharpening State its movement speeds up and its tail's lethality also increases. Many people have voiced concerns about these changes. While it shows attacks similar to those of the normal species using its jaws and tail, it's also necessary to be sufficiently concerned about its ability to wrap around and bite as if to lure you toward the tail and its ability to splatter acid from its tail.
  217.
  218. It hunts down enemies while sprinkling corrosive acid. It seems to be able to finish off its opponents, who have melted and crumbled in acid, with its sharpened tail blade.
  219.
  220. When movement becomes sluggish, the Crystal-Increased State makes its attack range wider than you can imagine. Cutting off its tail lowers its abilities.
  221.
  222. What kind of corrosive substance is generated from Effluvium. It should be gone. Even in the Rotten Vale, the detailed ecology is still under investigation. Acidic puddles can be seen in many organisms from the beginning, but they're the result of rainwater flowing in from the Coral Highlands mixed with air and raining down as acid rain, decomposing debris in the upper valley. The corrosive liquid secreted by Acidic Glavenus is a type of acid that's produced when the carnivorous microorganisms in the air decompose. It's considered to be the energy metabolism necessary for so-called biological activity. While taking in energy through the decomposition of microorganisms, it seems that unnecessary toxins are being discharged. (From a researcher's notes)
  223.
  224. The pose in which it holds its sharpened tail bent is unique to this Subspecies. When sharpening it with its fangs, it holds its tail and swings it wide, and with that momentum, it rotates strongly and cuts through. It's frightening to stop.
  225.
  226. It's easy to be captivated by the figure clad in acid crystals that manipulates its sword-like tail supplely and sharply, but what you have to pay close attention to with Acidid Glavenus is its sharpened tail. Its sharp tail, which can be called a blade, is a little smaller than the normal species', but its muscles are supple and developed, allowing it to perform delicate movements. It can be said that it's better at handling its tail than the normal species, such as slashing and thrusting in succession. For example, the normal tail is a Great Sword, while the Subspecies' is like a Longsword that can be sharply cut around. It seems to have established a solid position in the Rotten Vale by making full use of a variety of attack methods with its tail, such as slashing, mowing, and stabbing.
  227.
  228. A great technique that makes use of its strong leg strength to mow down the front from bottom to top while spinning around. It cuts enemies in two with tremendous power.

  232.
  233. The reason why I thought about releasing a new Subspecies of Glavenus that concentrates the offense and defense of play in the tail is that I wanted to introduce a Monster that could be played with as fresh a feeling as possible at this stage. In the design of the Subspecies so far, it's easy to get into the flow of Subspecies coming out if there's a normal species, but this time there are a lot of returning Monsters, and there are more normal species that you know. I thought that even if a Subspecies was released, it would lack freshness. In particular, it was a development in which Subspecies appeared in succession, and this guy wanted to release a new Subspecies that no one had ever seen before.
  234.
  235. Acidic Glavenus does away with ranged breath-type attacks that tend to be overpowering, and has a different taste of tail play than the normal species, the fun of fighting in close-quarters, and a state in which the tail is covered in crystals. I aimed for a Monster that you can enjoy the action in two forms of the stripped state. In terms of image, it might be a Great Sword with elements and a tail user with the sharpness of a Longsword without elements. Attacks that pierce at a point, such as stabs in close proximity, continuous slashes, and attacks while slashing down, all of which it puts pressure on with its tail, but once you understand its movement, it becomes fun. I've made it a Monster that can exchange detailed positions like that.

  244. Length: 1388.75cm
  245. Height: 423.79cm
  246. Foot Size: 104cm / 146cm (claws deployed)
  247.
  248. A Subspecies of Odogaron with Dragon Element in the claws on its legs and fangs on its head. It's a Fanged Wyvern species that's feared by the alias of "Demon Claw Wyvern" due to the strange claws that can steal all elements and its dull, shining appearance. Along with the environmental changes caused by the "great existence", its appearance has been confirmed throughout the New World. It has also been confirmed that in the Coral Hislands, it's able to overwhelm the normal species, and its territorial awareness and hostility are worthy of special mention. Even in the face of an Elder Dragon like Vaal Hazak, who's clad in death, it doesn't hesitate to grapple with it. The habit of walking around with a lump of meat to eat, ingesting it when fighting an enemy, and changing into a state called "Berserk Mode" is also a threat. With its enhanced agility and it spewing Dragon Element spit, it's said that even this seasoned hunter will be out of control.
  249.
  250. Odogaron is originally a species that boasts high agility. Beginning with movements that seem to go around the enemy's blind spot, it has a series of bites, swings, and scratches with its sharp claws, jumps from a sudden approach, raises its tail, and jumps in a large leap. It was showing off its abilities. In addition to this, the Subspecies actively tries to increase its physical ability by becoming Berserk, so its combat power is expected to greatly exceed that of the normal species. There's no end to this for Hunters, who are at the mercy of its quick movements involving the spitting of Dragon Element, and are injured by the assault of the pounce that has accumulated power. It's also troublesome that once you're injured by Dragon Element claws or fangs, you well become afflicted with Dragonblight and your weapon's elemental abilities will be suppressed.
  251.
  252. A Subspecies that exhibits unusual ferocity, perhaps due to the influence of the Dragon Element that resides within its body. Its agile movements are difficult even for it catch in its sight.
  253.
  254. A Subspecies of Odogaron that continues to wander in search of food. It has been seen carrying around the meat of the prey it kills, and eating it when it gets hungry.
  255.
  256. Similar to the normal species, Ebony Odogaron also have special structures for the claws on their legs. The parts that look like four claws in a normal state are spikes that are bent upwards between the spikes. It unfolds six hidden claws in a state of excitement accompanied by violence and anger. This allows it to demonstrate terrifying killing power. Each of its ten claws is so sharp that it easily cuts and lacerates any prey it touches. As a Subspecies, it goes without saying that it's highly dangerous due to the fact it also suffers from Dragon Element damage.
  257.
  258. With the wounds from its extended claws, it gradually drains the physical strength of enemies. Even a light scratch can be fatal, try to take countermeasures and destroy them as soon as possible.
  259.
  260. Six claws that demonstrate their true potential in eliminating enemies. Two rows of fine saw-like blades surround it, which cause a Bleeding effect.
  261.
  262. Its entire body is blue-black, and the red accents on its upper body are ominous. Perhaps the influence of the Dragon Element is reflected in its claws, which are dyed red and black.
  263.
  264. In addition to coordinating attacks from leaping and sneaking around, this Subspecies of Odogaron has uncontrollable rage, such as counterattacking without hesitation. The powerful rush it uses to devour its prey is also a threat.
  265.
  266. A Subspecies of Odogaron that has a wider range of activity than the normal species. One of the reasons for this is the acquisition of the Dragon Element. Advancing into various environments also means competition and rivalry with various elements, as is well-known, Dragon weakens the attack power of enemies' elements. If that happens, it's clear that this species, which has high agility and the ability to eat meat, has an advantage. According to the current reports, it can be said that the advance was a success. It's thought that the Dragon Element of this Subspecies may be due to its eating habits, and there's no effect on the resistance to the element. Accumulating elemental damage is even a major weakness, which seems to be a double-edged sword for Ebony Odogaron. (From a memo of a certain investigator)
  267.
  268. Odogaron and Ebony Odogaron carry lumps of meat to eat, and ingest them depending on the situation. However, in the Subspecies, the frequency and attachment are incomparable to the normal species. Even when fighting enemies, when moving between areas, it always moves with this lump of meat in its mouth. And at the destination, it activelu ingests lumps of meat and tries to strengthen itself, which is called Berserk Mode, and seems to oppose enemies.
  269.
  270. In this Berserk Mode, the Dragon Element that concentrates on the upper body is activated. A terrifying look with red electrical light and black smoke leaking out of its mouth.
  271.
  272. When it's full, it becomes violent and shows its true potential. On the other hand, exhaustion becomes more intense, and it has been confirmed that the Berserk Mode caused by fatigue and hunger has been lifted.
  273.
  274. One of the unique characteristics of this Subspecies is the ability to spit out Dragon Element breath. Instead of spraying the stored Dragon Element energy, it seems that the Dragon Element is contained in the lump of meat that's chewed and swallowed, and then returned to the oral cavity and spat out. Its use of the press is also characteristic. Many Monsters try to target enemies directly, but this Subspecies mainly enemies' feet. It's like a restraint. You should of it as using a press attack as a stepping stone to a Human bullet attack.
  275.
  276. It doesn't have much power, but there are reports of people getting distracted by the breath and losing sight of Ebony Odogaron, receiving a powerful blow from their blind spot.

  281. The normal Odogaron was designed to be strengthened by eating meat, but everyone hunted it down in a shorter time than I thought, so I'm serious. There are many times when I end up not being able to put it out (laughs). Therefore, in the Subspecies, we changed the strengthened stage to a normal state, and changed it to a play where you control it by not letting it exert its power or weakening it. I wanted to keep the original feeling of the normal one, such as intense combos, so I added the cooperation of its breath that spews out Dragon Element, making it a Monster with stronger elemental play. In terms of game design, the point I wanted to make him play was how he could avoid being affected by the Dragon Element.
  282.
  283. However, while I wanted to add a fun way to suppress the Dragon Element, I left it up to the player to decide whether to bring an elemental weapon to suppress the element, or to push with a non-elemental weapon. I'm in. Partly due to the flow from such play, it became a Dragon Element user, which is rare for a Subspecies. As for the reason, it seems to eat anything, so I'm sure it's secreting a tremendous substance in its stomach, and as a result, I think it's the power it gained (laughs).

  295. Foot Size: 98cm
  296.
  297. "Velkhana's breath of unbelievably low temperature... it's most dangerous when it's released to sweep a wide area."
  298.
  299. An Elder Dragon whose habitation has been confirmed in the Hinterlands, which are extremely cold regions, and that it can freeze all things. Old lore tells us that there have been only a few sightings, and that it's only mentioned in a few notes and diaries of civilians. When we saw that figure, the existence of the phantom was identified by the Tracker, which surprised the members of the investigation team. Not only does it freely manipulate cold air to cling to its body, but it also emits its extremely cold breath, and it's said to make a huge block of ice appear in an empty space. Its main territory is from the frozen mountainous areas of migration to the snowy fields at the foot of the mountain, but for some reason it also appeared in the New World, and Seliana and it caused great tension in Astera.
  300.
  301. Velkhana, who manipulates the ice created by instant freezing using the supercooling phenomenon, has the ability to create a cold liquid below zero called Supercooled Water inside its body and blow it as a breath. It's safe to assume that the frozen Cortos and Anjanath, among whom were reported during investigative work, were exposed to this breath of hers. Also, the Supercooled Water that's strongly expelled freezes when it receives an impact, turning into icicles and ice walls. Who can't understand how dangerous these abilities are?
  302.
  303. In addition to the cryogenic breath that it exhales at high pressure, the freezing breath that creates a pool of frost at its feet is a threat. It pierces frozen prey with its tail.
  304.
  305. Velkhana's shell, which uses rapidly cooled magma as its crust, plays an essential role in storing and manipulating Supercooled Water, so its maintenance is considered to be an important ecological cycle. The outer shell, which is made of special ore, deteriorates due to battles and aging, so it seems that regular maintenance is necessary for her. From the results of this investigation, it was found that the ore in the outer shell is a kind of "volcanic glass" that's produced only under a special environment. It repairs the outer shell by rapidly cooling the magma and enveloping it. We came to the conclusion that there was a big reason why it appeared in the Elder's Recess. A large number of ores with similar properties were also found in the area believed to be Velkhana's nest in the Hoarfrost Reach, which is cited as a supporting argument.
  306.
  307. An Elder Dragon with an impressive and beautiful outer shell, which is based on white and has a glossy blue colour. Some researchers say that the borderline between white and blue looks like a flower petal. Its shape is said to make it easy to store magma.
  308.
  309. The bluishness of the outer shell seems to be affected by the ability to generate Supercooled Water. There are also rumours that the darker the bluish colour, the stronger it is, The axis of its attacks is its long, sharp tail. Even if it's cut, it immediately replaces it with ice.
  310.
  311. In addition to being able to walk on all fours with its well-developed limbs, it also has excellent flight ability with its large wings. All of its attacks, such as lunging, stabbing with its tail, and mow down are powerful, and the only thing you should be vigilant about is its breath.
  312.
  313. The mechanism by which Velkhana creates ice blocks has been revealed to be related to its outer shell, which accumulates Supercooled Water. As the body temperature rises while in combat with enemies, the Supercooled Water that leaks out from the gaps in the outer shell turns into a mist of cold air and drifts into the air around it. When it fires its cryogenic breath in this fog, the Supercooled Water hits it and freezes, suddenly creating ice blocks in the air and on the ground.
  314.
  315. It has a bird-like face and a head with impressive horns and a shell shaped like a gorgeous crown. No wonder it's called a Crownhorn. You can see the Supercooled Water leaking into the puddle like the morning dew that rolls around the corner.
  316.
  317. Its front legs, which are characterized by dewclaws and elongated fingers, aren't the main targets of its attacks, so their offensive use isn't seen.
  318.
  319. Velkhana shows its body cloaked in ice in battles with enemies. The amount of Supercooled Water that it produces increases with the rise of its emotions, causing it to overflow from its outer shell into a mist that freezes. The reason why it's particularly dangerous in this state isn't a simple story such as the increase in attack power due to the increase in the amount of Supercooled Water. Most alarming of all is its terrifying act of releasing all of its accumulated Supercooled Water. That act is risky for Velkhana as well, as it loses the accumulated Supercooled War and the ice that clings to it, but it's the greatest means of attack to destroy the enemy with all its might. While scattering its extremely cold breath, it soars into the air, raining gigantic blocks of ice, and then spits its breath onto the ground, continuously creating huge ice walls around it. Its damage spreads over a wide area, so if you fail to deal with it, your life will be in danger.
  320.
  321. The threat emitted by Velkhana, named "Absolute Zero". In order to suppress the accumulation of Supercooled Water, we obtained a research report that says it's effective to suppress it by breaking parts.
  322.
  323. As Supercooled Water accumulates, ice forms on the body. It's said that it's in a state called "Ice Encrustation", and that it shows two stages of change depending on the amount of Supercooled Water accumulated. Some reports say it even changes the weather when it reaches its maximum amount.
  324.
  325. If you break the ice on multiple parts of the head, body, front legs, back legs, tail, and wings, it seems that you can eliminate the Ice Encrustation state. It has also been confirmed that Fire Element attacks and the Slinger's Flinch Shot are effective.
  326.
  327. The Hoarfrost Reach with abundant geothermal heat was once a volcano. Such a hypothesis was made based on the existence of Velkhana and the situation of its nest. Originally, it was in a region with deep snow, but due to the effects of crustal movements triggered by the Old Everwyrm, the cooling has exceeded the volcanic activity. As a result, the special ore generated from the magma dried up, and it became possible to care for the outer shell, so it visited the Elder's Recess. Although it's a carnivore that preys on Small Monsters, it's not for the sake of predation of preservation that it releases its press and keeps it in ice. According to one theory, Velkhana is irritated by the "song", and it seems that it's freezing the small animals flying round it as a distraction. During the battle, it meddles with the Small Monsters it comes with, and it has a verse that prioritizes elimination for the same reason. (From an observation report by a certain investigator)
  328.
  329. While covered in ice, Velkhana's various attacks are strengthened. Its breath attacks, of course, include the Ice Element with its tail attacks, and it becomes like it with the ice generated by the flapping of its wings that can reach far.
  330.
  331. It's believed that the sightings of this Elder Dragon were extremely rare, as it's an Elder Dragon that inhabits extremely cold regions where Human habitation is considered difficult. It was probably the first time it had encountered a Human, even though teh Hunters had repelled it in the Elder's Recess. Therefore, there's a high possibility that Velkhana, who recognized the Human race as an enemy and a dangerous factor, returned to the Hinterlands and attacked the weapons storage in Seliana. From the fact that it's obsessed with the artefacts in front of it and the Hunters, you can see that it was a weak relationship with Humans.
  332.
  333. It should've had no way of knowing that the investigation team was in a hurry to complete the Dragonrazer, let alone that it was a weapon aimed at itself.

  338. The most beautiful of the ice-manipulating Elder Dragons, the main Monster full of "MH"-likeness. I thought about it in a direction that wasn't a direct exchange. However, if it was just that kind of indirect distance play, the response as the main Monster would be weak, so I remember the production staff having a hard time. The result is a tail. By adding an attack where you hit a point with your finger, and an attach where you sprinkle fog and drop it with a press, you can adjust the sense of distance and rhythm of the game, and in the end, I think you can get a sense of accomplishment.
  339.
  340. In terms of design, we aimed for a witch-like impression hat looks frightening at first glance, so we asked her to make it a delicate art. When that happens, it makes me want to conveniently create ice like magic, but I don't think that's MH-like. However, she wanted elements such as creating ice walls and dropping icicles, so I searched for her approach that was typical of MH. The idea was to create a phenomenon in which "Supercooled Water", an unstable liquid that should be frozen, crystallizes when it's impacted. She scatters Supercooled Water in the space and spouts cold air there to give stimulation. In other words, it's a setting that creates ice secondarily, and it feels like it's linked to the final game design.

  351. Foot Size: 259cm
  352.
  353. "A Variant of Bazelgeuse covered in scales with increased heat capacity. The amount of scales peeling off increases over time, and the explosion range seems to be strengthened."
  354.
  355. A Variant of Bazelgeuse encountered in the Elder's Recess while chasing traces of Nergigante. Its appearance, such as a darkened outer shell and reddened blood, is clearly different from that of the normal species. It's the origin of the alias of "Burning Scale Wyvern", it has has a bit of scattering explosive substances called "Burning Scales", and it seems that it has the power to surpass the base species in terms of the ability to activate the scales. This is because this Variant not only has its Blasting Scales always in a red-hot state, but also because it handles extremely high-explosive Blasting Scales that burst with crimson. Also, perhaps because it has a strong sense of territorial control over the Elder's Recess, it will unrelentingly and mercilessly attack any enemies it counters. It's said to turn the entire area into as sea of fire.
  356.
  357. One of the characteristics of this species, which is a Variant with the ability to control the scattering of explosive scales, is the method of scattering explosive scales. When the bodily fluids secreted by Bazelgeuse come into contact with the air, these scales stretch their outer membrane and cool and harden. Normally, when a Fuse produces this on its head or tail, it will drop it with every move. On the other hand, this Variant can scatter explosive scales during a specific movement, and it also has the ability to accumulate power and increase the number of explosive scales it scatters.
  358.
  359. It produces Blasting Scales from secretory glands called Fuses all over its body. It's though that it's able to control the secretion with the Variant, such as tightening the explosive glands with force.
  360.
  361. Originally, Blasting Scales turn red-hot as the body temperature rises when excited, but the Variant has exploding scales that are always in a red-hot state, making them dangerous. The height is clear. The cause is still under investigation, but according to the researcher's opinion, it's possible to store more energy at a higher concentration by settling in the Elder's Recess, which is rich in Bioenergy.
  362.
  363. Distilled Blast Fluid accelerates heat generation with the impact of falling to the ground, causing an explosion after a while. Distilled Blast Fluid in a red-hot state has a short time until it explodes, so there are many situations where it's difficult to deal with.
  364.
  365. There is also a report that the components of the bodily fluid secreted from the Fuses of the Variant are different from those of the normal species. This difference makes it possible to accumulate high-concentration energy, creating a state called the Crimson State that produces amazing explosive power.
  366.
  367. The normal species have a wide range of habitats, and they've been found in almost all of the New World, but Seeting Bazelgeuse has only been sighted in parts of the Elder's Recess and he Guiding Lands. Is it possible that some of them, who decided to settle in the Elder's Recess, were Bazelgeuse that transformed into Variants? The Elder's Recess itself is full of energy, and many of the creatures that inhabit it are highly dangerous. It must be a form adapted to survive there. I would also like to add to my argument that since before, it has been confirmed to be a normal species that performs marking only in the Elder's Recess. (From a certain investigation report)
  368.
  369. The red-hot Blasting Scales further raise the temperature, and the state in which they react from red to a colour close to purple is called the Crimson State. The amount of heat stored can be measured from the degree of discolouration. In this species, which is a Variant, it scatters these extremely dangerous Blasting Scales at random, making it thoroughly known that the act of causing a violent explosion is the greatest threat. It's thought that this is a kind of display behaviour of it showing off its power and claiming territory, but the area there is said to have the appearance of yelling just like it.
  370.
  371. According to the investigators who witnessed it, it soared high into the sky and scattered crimson explosions as if to cover the entire area.
  372.
  373. Parts that are normally red can be seen on the head and tail. During battle, the amount of heat increases, and the fluid that changes to black and white increases When it reaches the extremes of both parts, it unleashes a "Great Bombing Attack".
  374.
  375. A difference in the secretions and the reaction itself to the explosion was also confirmed to be different from the normal species. Bazelgeuse in its Crimsom State can be seen to amplify scales before they explode. In addition, they also have the feature of sticking to the point of impact. The amount of heat it has accumulated is unmatched, and its power unparalleled, but the number and frequency of Blasting Scales it scatters from its head and tail also increases, so it's extremely dangerous to leave the Crimson State unattended. This is due to its ferocious personality. However, it has also been found that it's possible to prevent the transition to the Crimson State by continuously stimulating the parts that are becoming red-hot, at the cost of a great deal of sacrifice. Depending on the situation, it will be necessary to select the parts that should be prioritized for attack. Attacks with Slinger ammo, such as Crystalburst, are also recognized to be effect to some extent.
  376.
  377. A crimson scale that emits pale light, swells up, and causes a large explosion. It doesn't want to run away, so it's wary.

Bazelgeuse was born to stir up the scene in "MHW" with a design that emphasizes a sense of well-balanced fighting and confronts the players as play, so the play of the individual itself was also tasteful. So he was able to play properly, and he was redesigned as a Monster, and he was Bazelgeuse. Specifically, he added a big move like his Crimson Bombardment, an attack using the tail, and a sweep, etc., and he added sharpness in the interaction. In addition, although he drops explosives in the same way as the normal species, he makes them monsters because he drops them by linking them to actions to some extent, and makes the player think about how to move around while worrying about something. Normally, the species would drop scales regardless of their own intentions, it feels like he made adjustments to create a sharpness in his gameplay even with these elements.
  383.
  384. As for the design, I wanted to put in a high-energy power, so I designed it so that the colour would steadily increase. But when I did that, the shuddering feeling of a collection of pots that I had originally had become more and more pronounced, and I was even more amazed (laughs). I thought it might be too much, so I adjusted it, and in the end, I think they did a good job of putting in a red-hot iron-like atmosphere

  397. "A Variant of Vaal Hazak whose whole body is covered in spores. The spores contain a large amount of Effluvium, and when an enemy approaches, it spouts out that Effluvium to intercept it."
  398.
  399. A Variant of Vaal Hzaek whose body is clad in a fungus that emits terrifying Effluvium that's harmful to living organisms. Vaal Hazak, who lives on the Effluvium for food, has expanded its habitant from the Rotten Vale to the Ancient Forest because it has acquied the Effluvium-storing sporangia. The yellow-white spores released from the sporangia float in the air, and the way it stalks embodies the concept of "death". That's why it's called "Blackveil Vaal Hazak" and is distinguished from normal individuals who wear rotten flesh. It seems that it still absorbs Effluvium from Small Monsters affected by Effluvium and uses it as a source of energy, but in the Ancient Forest where Effluvium doesn't exist, various presses and spores are emitted. It operates while filling its surroundings with Effluvium.
  400.
  401. Effluvium is thought to be a type of bacteria, carnivorous microbes. As a normal individual, it lives in the Rotten Vale, and by using this Effluvium it coexists with it, plunging living things into a state of Effluvium erosion, and by inhaling the Effluvium, it exploits the energy. One of its methods is its breath attack, which spews out Effluvium, but in Blackveil Vaal Hazak, there is a big difference in the amount and release from normal individuals. It can be said that the ability to control the Effluvium by mowing it off from both the left and right, and retreating while throwing it up, is extremely high, and the ability to control it is greatly improved. A careless approach will surely lead to death.
  402.
  403. It takes in the Effluvium from the surrounding creatures that are affected by sporangia and Effluvium, and spits it out as a breath. Sporangia are said to have the ability to propagate Effluvium.
  404.
  405. In its "Large Spore Release", masses of gigantic thoracic spores called megaspores are scattered. When this hits, the concentration of Effluvium increases all at once around itself, threatening the lives of living things.
  406.
  407. Clumps called sporangia are attached to the left and right sides of the thorax, thorax, and base of the tail, and live symbiotically. Some wonder if the large spores affect the atmosphere as well, or change the weather.
  408.
  409. A Variant of Vaal Hazak that has been confirmed to generate, proliferate, and release a large amount of spores from the sporangia when the amount of spores clinging to its body exceeds the limit. Due to this, part of the Ancient Forest seemed to change in an instant to an environment reminiscent of the Rotten Vale. It's believed that Vaal Hazak, who migrated from the Rotten Vale, is trying to create a Rotten Vale-like environment for its own hunting. It just happened to be in the area, but it's not just living there. On the other hand, it seems to be a in a state where Vaal Hazak also lost the spores that had wrapped around it in a few moments.
  410.
  411. The structure of the double jaw is the same as a normal individual. While the spore blocks the light and leaves the head unexposed, the effect of the Slinger's Flash Pod won't work.
  412.
  413. Even in the Ancient Forest, there were a series of reports of Small Monsters going berserk due to the Effluvium. In the Rotten Vale, it was a phenomenon seen in Raphinos and Girros, but those who live in the forest like Mernos, Jagras, and even Aptonoth, a mild-mannered herbivorous beast, are affected by the terror of the Effluvium.
  414.
  415. There is a report about the specific acid in organs called spores attached to the base of the body and tail. That's a mold-like fungus that covers the body surface, and it's highly likely that it doesn't have the effect of propagating therapeutic effects. However, it's said that the sporangia may react to targets that Vaal Hazak itself doesn't regard as enemies. This is proof that the sporangia isn't part of Vaal Hazak's body, but a separate, symbiotic organism. In addition, it's believed that the more steam wrapped around Vaal Hazak, the more the spores become more active and the frequency of spore release increases.
  416.
  417. Sporophylls are independent biogroups, although they sometimes eject spores in response to the movement of Vaal Hazak. It shoots spores at approaching enemies. Early destruction is desirable when hunting.
  418.
  419. Since Vaal Hazak has an ecology that uses Effluvium to extract energy from living things, it would normally be unable to store sufficient Effluvium outside of the Rotten Vale. It should've been difficult to operate. This was made possible by the Effluvium-producing sporangia. For some reason, Vaal Hazak, who had acquired the sporangia that had grown and attached to its body, left the Rotten Vale and returned to the Ancient Forest. Few disagree with the view that it appeared in the forest of trees. According to the research team's analysis, fungi that form sporangia were found not only in the Ancient Forest but also the Rotten Vale. However, it seems that the fungi that live in the Ancient Forest are more active, and that's why they produce more Effluvium. I would like to keep an eye on whether Vaal Hazak will appear in other other regions in the future. (From a certain researcher's research report)

  424. A mobile fortress Monster that manipulates a fungus that adapts itself to the Ancient Forest. Because I wanted to add one. Of course, I could've added an Elder Dragon like Kushala Daora that I could use, but that would lead to the same development as MHW, so I wanted to avoid that as well, Then, what kind of Variant should I put out? As for the reasoning behind Acidic Glavenus, I wanted to make a Monster that I had never seen before and had as little connection with the Variant as possible. Therefore, Vaal Hazak, who wears death, isn't a Subspecies because it's the same species as Vaal Hazak, but a Variant with enhanced original abilities. Vaal Hazak, the lord of the Rotten Vale, which was originally supposed to be its best place to live, appeared in the Ancient Forest. Just with that, I hope you can feel the fear that something big is about to happen.
  425.
  426. As a player, I wanted to make it a Monster like a moving fortress. Even though it's pumping air, it moves slowly and shoots at its cradle like a battery installed on a frortess or a battleship. On top of that, when the sporangium amplifies, even that bursts. It's an outrageous Monster, isn't it?

  439. "Among other things, the Abyssal Dragon, Namielle! It's an Elder Dragon with anecdotes that all the existing eyewitness accounts are inconsistent, and scholars threw spoons at it."
  440.
  441. A new Elder Dragon species that has been sighted in the Coral Highlands as the investigation into the Old Everwyrm is coming to an end. It wraps its body in water and manipulates thunder. From the fragmentary information in the literature, it turns out that it's a powerful being called "Abyssal Dragon". However, there were some discrepancies in the written descriptions, such as "it had an eerie glow", "I could not see the light", "it was very colourful", and "its body surface had a plain colour". Regarding these reported cases, we have obtained the results of the investigation that the body surface whose colour changes depending on the amount of water and the light-emitting organs that surround the body are the causes. It has its own power-generating organ within its body, and by sending an electric shock toward the water it releases, it threatens to cause a large explosion, and urges vigilance.
  442.
  443. It was pointed that that Namielle's strategy of a water breath that makes use of electricity is excellent in dealing with enemies. Known for its ability to manipulate Water and Thunder, it takes it quite some time to build up enough energy to finish off an enemy. In addition, it seems to try to eliminate them with water first. Even if it doesn't hit the enemy directly, it forms a puddle around it. Then, when the battery in its body is complete, it will shoot an electrical strike at a puddle. In other words, its pressing of the water released in the early stages is a strategy, limiting the movement range of enemies and killing them with powerful electrical strikes.
  444.
  445. In addition to mowing the ground with a breath of high water pressure it spits out water globs around itself. These were also the groundwork for it to utilize the electric shock.
  446.
  447. Nameille has two characteristics, the ability to use Water and the ability to use Thunder, but it was found that each state can be read from the changes in the luminous organs. When wrapped in water, the colour of the body becomes more vivid and its luminescence becomes brighter. On the other hand, when the water it retains begins to dry up, its body colour becomes dull and its bioluminescence becomes weak. It's the same with the electric coat, and when electricity storage is fully charged, a jade-coloured wave pattern emerges on the wing membrane, which is also very beautiful. Of course, it's also a clear warning sign.
  448.
  449. The mouth is lined with fine, sharp teeth. As for its long beard, it has the property of imparting Thunder Element when used as a conductor, so it's believed that it has some kind of connection with the power generator.
  450.
  451. Suction cups have been confirmed on the soles of its front and back legs, but its specific use, such as being used for predation, has not been clarified. Lateral spikes are used for electrical discharge.
  452.
  453. The brightness of the luminescence is proportional to the threat of Namielle. You'll want to use Brightmoss, which absorbs moisture, to eliminate puddles.
  454.
  455. (Thirst State) - A form that has lost all water on its body. There is no trace of the moist beauty. With no water to protect its skin, it becomes vulnerable to physical attacks and slows down. It will go for aggressive hydration.
  456.
  457. The most impressive feature of Namielle is probably the brilliant flickering luminous phenomenon. From the inside of the wing membranes, whiskers, head to the sides of the body, the limbs, and tail show regular and beautiful light emission. However, the colour scheme that separates the upper and lower surfaces of the body is a type of camouflage known as countershading. Among them, the luminescence that Namielle shows is called counter-illumination, and it's said that it has the effect of blending into the background by combining the brightness of the light from the sky and the luminescence of its body.
  458.
  459. (Luminescence/Normal State) - The one that clarifies the luminous parts of the whole body. In addition to counter-illumination, I wonder if it will also be used for its display act of power and courtship.
  460.
  461. (Luminescence/Electric Enclave State) - Electricity is accumulated in the body, and a part of the epidermis glows bluish-white in a state called "Electric Enclave". Electricity will flow through the puddles, and the threat of a "Steam Explosion" will increase.
  462.
  463. As for luminescence, it tends to be thought of as electroluminescence because it has a power-generating organ in its body, but it's actually bioluminescence. In addition, despite its form, which seems to be a deep-sea creature, it prefers high places on land coral plateaus and sets up its nest.
  464.
  465. Since no observations have been made on the predation situation, there is no end to the debate about the diet of Namielle based on its physical characteristics and confirmed ecology. Judging from the shape of its fangs, it can be thought of as a carnivore, or an omnivore that's extremely close to a carnivore. The remarkably large wing membranes make it easy to catch updrafts blowing over land coral plateaus, and many speculate that they may sneak up from the sky and prey on their prey. The counter shading of the body colour is also the proof. The area where the soft land coral that absorbs water grows is unpopular for watering, so it's rare to see them going into battle for purposes other than water supply. (From a report by a certain researcher)

  472. The first completely new Elder Dragon with Water Element made possible by machine specs. Until now, due to the machine specs, it was difficult to express the water, and it was difficult to make the Elder Dragon look strong with Water. That's why, both in terms of expressive power and the level design of "MHW:IB", it was decided from the early stages of production that we would create a new Water Elder Dragon separate from Velkhana. As a result of trial and error, it became a Monster that can control a large amount of water, sucking and spewing water. However, that alone still lacked the decisive factor for play, so we explored other elements as well. But this Elder Dragon we wanted to be a Water Elder Dragon. Without removing that premise, even though the main axis is the Water Element, he added eletric elements such as steam explosions and electric shocks to ceate a sharpness in the game. It's close to the image of an electric eel.
  473.
  474. In terms of the design, I pursued a shape that looks cool and strong while handling water, and it became something like a deep-sea fish or a Leviathan. I like how pterygoids are shown in a unique way. Combined with the mollusk-like movement, it creates a unique silhouette, and I think it's nice to have a luminous body inside.

  487. "I think something has caused it to lose the ability to judge when it's full. I want to know where its cravings are... I'd like to ask for your cooperation in the investigation."
  488.
  489. A veteran Deviljho who has won a harsh compeition for survival, a Variant that has undergone an abnormal change. In its body, it contains what could be called an excess of Dragon Element energy, accompanied by a tremendous expansion of its muscles. That's why it's in a state of extreme starvation and the urge for food makes it more active. It's easily angered and its ferocity spurs it. It has been reported that it roams a wide range of areas, from the Hinterlands to the New World. It usually preys on Small Monsters, but it's said that it can sometimes be seen devouring even the corpses of Large Monsters. With strong jaws and legs and a breath that uses Dragon Element, it's a very dangerous threat, so if you encounter it, you should retreat immediately.
  490.
  491. Deviljho, whose appetite control function has gone out of control and is always hungry, has a high metabolism and fights fiercely, so it's said to be a relatively short-lived species. On the other hand, among the rare individuals that have grown old, there are some that develop abnormalities in their ability to control their appetite due to the effects of aging and became even more ferocious. They're always hungry and eat endlessly, but they're said to be angry because of their insatiable hunger. When it gets angry, it loses control over its Dragon Element energy, and the Dragon Element energy overflows frm its head. It's named "Savage Deviljho" to distinguish it from the usual.
  492.
  493. Perhaps because it consumes a lot of energy in the cold, there are as many as five places where it has been confirmed as a hunting area on the ground on the migratory floor. There are more than two in each of the other regions as well, showing how greedy they are.
  494.
  495. It's said there are cases in which the ferocity of this species can be used in an ecological environment. When it swallows a wingless Bird Wyvern or Fanged Wyvern species, it will persistently attack by swinging or rotating, but it takes advantage of such actions. In areas where traces of this species can be confirmed, there's a high possibility of luring it by placing raw meat in the area, and it intentionally attacks other Monsters for hunting purposes. I can't recommend it, but would it be fun to use it while being prepared for the danger of getting caught up in it? (From a certain hunter's daily journal)
  496.
  497. It's always hungry and drooling, but its hunger urge wins and it never shows fatigue. Also, its saliva contains strong acidity, which corrodes armour.
  498.
  499. Unlike the normal species, where extreme hunger transforms the body into a Dragon-Enhanced State, Savage Deviljho's muscles are always in a swollen state. When it eats its prey, it stores energy and amplifies the Dragon Element energy that circulates throughout its body. From the bulging muscles that spread out, uncontrollable Dragon Element energy leaks out, creating a sinister appearance of reddish-black lightning crackling. It exudes an eerie and terrifying sense of intimidation. The state of demonstrating tyrannical power is called a "Dragon-Enhanced State", and it's said that it's a state in which it displays its anger towards enemies.
  500.
  501. In its enhanced state, where Dragon Element energy is overflowing from its head, the power of its entire body seems to be dramatically enhanced. It's said that every investigator who saw it was obsessed with eliminating it. Also, even a piercing attack will trigger a Dragon Element attack, and even if you get close to the head, you will be eaten away by the Dragon Element energy and your physical strength will be stolen. There were quite a few people who got stuck in the head with the Clutch Claw and were killed in return. Considering the variety of its attacks that spew out Dragon Element energy, you can say that it's essential to deal with Dragon Element.
  502.
  503. In addition to predatory behaviour, attacks such as biting attacks and the act of holding Large Monsters in its mouth are also food for strengthening its Dragon Element.
  504.
  505. Because of its ferocity and combativeness, Deviljho engages in Turf Wars with many Large Monsters. As a Variant, it shows equal power against mighty Elder Dragons such as Velkhana, Namielle, Blackveil Vaal Hazak, and the all-destroying Ruiner Nergigante.
  506.
  507. "Dragon Enhanced (Anger) State" - A Dragon Enhanced State that thirsts for more and stores up even fiercer rage. It can be seen that it flies forcibly against an opponent in combat, restrains them, and attempts to prey.
  508.
  509. In battles with enemies, every move of this species amplifies the Dragon Element energy within its body, so you can't escape the threat of enhanced Dragonblight if left alone. However, it was found that the condition could be suppressed by continuing to apply impacts to the head. Also, due to the mutation of the Dragon Element, or the difference in the way it's conceived, it doesn't have the property like Ebony Odogaron where elemental damage is effective at nullifying the Dragon Element on the head. Based on this discovery, research results have come out that weapons that emit Thunder Element are extremely effective. In addition, even if you give a strong impact to this species that turns from a momentary flinch to a counterattack bite, you can weaken the Monster by applying a strong impact as it counterattacks. In any case, we believe that it's important not to lack polarity when hunting.
  510.
  511. It also uses a variety of breaths that emit Dragon Element, such as straight lines and mow down. It continues to breath at its feet and causes an explosion.
  512.
  513. Even if they're the same species, they only recognize each other as food, and when two Deviljho meet, they begin to feast on each other. However, only for a few days when it eats a large amount of prey and is well-nourished, a special hormone is released in its body. It's said that there's a period when it doesn't start predatory behaviour if this hormone is secreted and sees other individuals. Mating seems to take place when mature males and females meet during that short period of time, but the development of juveniles is still unclear.
  514.
  515. It always aims for the big game, and it seems that investigators are less likely to be targeted when Large Monsters appear nearby. If it enters a Dragon Enhanced State, it will be hostile.

  520. An enhanced individual that excites the feeling of an event without changing its simple and one-of-a-kind place. Originally, Deviljho was born during "MH3 (Tri)" for the purpose of having it ravage the higher ranks, and it's a Monster that emphasizes event characteristics. He wanted to bring that feeling to the G-Rank, and since he's the one and only Deviljho, he made it a Variant instead of a Subspecies. In "MHW:IB", the number of Monsters that invade the map is increasing, but since it was an individual that appeared in G-Rank for a long time, there are players who say, "Of course, it will also appear in Master Rank." Partly because of expectations, we made it appear without making any major changes to its ecology, event features, or base game design.
  521.
  522. In terms of play, Deviljho loses himself in anger, so I thought about how to make him stronger, like the previous Savage Deviljho, by giving him vulgar breaths at close and long range. I tried various things, but I had a strong impression that Deviljho and him weren't that different, so I decided to add some more impactful and powerful actions to it. We added attacks such as exploding Dragon Element in a certain range by spitting out her breath that was compressed to the ground. As a result, I think the pressure on him when the music suddenly changes on the map has increased.

  535. "The Nergigante who knows everything. You could give me all of my Hunter life, he was the kind of guy."
  536.
  537. A Variant of Nergigante who has won and survived many battles and acquired a different phase line called Ironspikes while repeatedly destroying and regenerating the thorns that cover its body. Its ferocity spurs it on, and there are claims it would devour even the Elder Dragons, hence the name "He Who Consumes All, Nergigante". In addition to its original recovery ability, it has the property of growing stronger and sharper thorns as its physical strength declines. It showed off a glimpse of its power. There are eyewitness reports of it crossing over to the Guiding Lands, and researchers are dived as to why. Of course, no answer has been given.
  538.
  539. Like a normal individual, it doesn't use the attacks seen in other Elder Dragons, and hunts prey using only its own body as a weapon. It pounces and slashes with its front legs, slams both sides and sweeps away from itself with its wings, and slams and raises its head, sending thorns flying. Black spikes have been destroyed and regenerated countless times in repeated battles. At some point, a strong silver thorn was produced by mutation, the acquisition of Ironspikes. The battles it has accumulated with its new weapons that cause Bleeding made Nergigante even more belligerent and ferocious. The colour it shows has turned black and hardened.
  540.
  541. It's said that the Ironspike is proof that it's a Variant that excels in hunting instincts and survival instincts, and has survived numerous battles.
  542.
  543. It's very interesting to hypothesize that this species preys on things that are remarkably prominent in the ecosystem and has a role in harmonizing the balance of the whole organism. In the case of the Origin Isle, it's said that it preyed on an Elder Dragon that had the danger of having a large-scale impact on the veins of the earth and causing major changes to the ecosystem. It doesn't seem to take action for balance. I ought to think that someone's predatory appetite has resulted in it merely fulfilling this role. Having said that, what if Nergigante's transformation into a Variant was inevitable in order to prepare for the coming threat...? If that's the case, it can be said that it's a harbinger of further threats. (From a comment by a certain researcher)
  544.
  545. It's known that Nergigante's thorns have a high regenerative ability, but during recovery and regeneration, it mutates to produce stronger and more durable thorns. It's believe that the thorn is the Ironspike. It must be a so-called super-recovery phenomenon. Maybe it's a defensive instinct against life being threatened? Let it live. Attacking with the part where the Ironspikes grow will crush the thorns and send them flying around, so the danger increases dramatically.
  546.
  547. "Normal State (Enhanced Regeneration)" - When the black thorns are destroyed, the enhanced regeneration ability will immediately grow white thorns. When it has Ironspikes on five parts, it becomes a tremendous threat,
  548.
  549. Except for the Ironspikes, it has the habit of destroying the hardened black thorns and scattering them, just like a a normal individual. The thorns it destroyed immediately regenerate, super-regenerating from soft white thorns to hard black thorns.
  550.
  551. Unlike other thorns, Ironspikes can't regenerate once destroyed. However, it's stronger and more lethal, and will cause Bleeding if touched.
  552.
  553. Returning to the danger of life, it raises a roar and jumps up, then swoops down at the enemy, pierces the ground, and shoots out thorns. It's a great technique called "Exit Failure" that creates Ironspikes.
  554.
  555. Even when it's damaged, it will regenerate immediately. In other words, the more an enemy is a threat, the more battle-tested it is, the more battle-tested it reigns at the top of the ecosystem. Nergigante, who destroys everything, is like that.
  556.
  557. Weapons with Elderseal seem to be effective against black thorns that are repeatedly destroyed and regenerated, posing a threat. You can also destroy them by using a Dragon Pod.
  558.
  559. The situation in which this species has its thorns destroyed can be a kind of barometer of how strong the hostile opponent is.
  560.
  561. The research team witnessed an individual that was once thought to have been dead revived and preyd on the might Elder Dragon that was confronting them.

  566. An enhanced version of Nergigante that devours Bioenergy. Nergigante is a non-elemental, aggressive Monster that's easy to understand and very nice. But even though he's the main Monster in MHW, I've always had the regret that I couldn't let him play an active role in MHW. The reason why I made Nergigante appear in this way is because I wanted to focus on Nergigante again in "MHW:IB" and give it a strong impression. However, of course, I didn't want to break the formula that the main Monster this time was Velkhana and the boss was Shara Ishvalda, so I didn't use her in the main story, and played a delicious role as a bridge to the end content of the Guiding Lands. I decided to take it.
  567.
  568. The Variant that appears here is a different individual than the Nergigante from MHW, and will be a very long-lived Monster. 581. "The song is the vibrations produced by its actions. The crustal movement is caused by interference with the veins of the earth."
  582.
  583. A mysterious Elder Dragon that's said to affect the Everstream. The source of the "song", which has been linked to the abnormal behaviour of the Legiana in the ecosystem and to crustal momvements, has not been confirmed in the Old World. At the end of a long voyage, a dream-chasing adventurer who arrived at the New World deciphered the changes in the Everstream base don clues that vaguely suggested it was an "Old Everwyrm", leading to the discovery. When the investigative team encountered it on the Origin Isle, it appeared with its whole body covered in rocks, but its true form was hidden within, and despite its strange shape, it gave off a divine presence. It's said that at the tip of its wing legs, it has the ability to liquefy the earth and change the terrain using a certain imaging organ. Its power is comparable to a natural disaster.
  584.
  585. Shara Ishvalda has an organ that generates powerful vibrations at the tips of the wing legs growing on its back. We came to the conclusion that this vibration was the major cause of the song that had become the focus of this investigation. Strong vibrations traveled through the ground, causing resonance and reverberations that were manifesting in various places as eerie sounds. The investigators called it a "song", but we didn't really hear it that way. Interesting views have also been raised regarding the effects of such "songs". Certain frequencies are known to have unexpected effects on living beings. It's highly likely that the reverberating frequency of the "song" drove the Legiana's homing organs out of order, causing them to behave abnormally.
  586.
  587. It burrows into the ground and generates high vibrations that can liquefy the ground. The appearance of Monsters in areas different from their original habitats and the awakening of Elder Dragons are likely due to the effects of the vibrations and accompanying crustal movements.
  588.
  589. Shara Ishvalda's appearance is greatly different from when it's covered in rocks. As it moves through the ground, rocks adhere to the body fluids secreted from its body surface, forming a robust shell. With the exception of Nergigante, it's difficult to imagine that such an entity would have a predator, and there's a strong opinion that the habit of covering the entire body with rocks isn't an act of self-defence. Even in this state, the vibrating organs of the wing legs are activated, making it possible to move underground while liquefying the surface of the earth.
  590.
  591. (Rock-Clad State) - The appearance of the body covered with underground rocks is called the Rock-Clad State. It seems that ores such as sansekite are contained in the crevices of the deposited rocks. The tips of its wing legs are shaped like a flat mallet, and it has the destructive power to crush enemies.
  592.
  593. Its huge body covered in rocks is visibly strong. It engages in heavy but powerful attacks such as headbutts, jumping crushes, and wing leg slams.
  594.
  595. Even on the Origin Isle, it causes crustal movements during battles with Hunters, changing the surroundings to its advantage.
  596.
  597. When the rocks clinging to its head and front legs are destroyed, it roars and vibrates to release the remaining cloak, exposing its true form. At that time, the rock wall surrounding the arena is also destroyed, greatly changing the landscape of the Origin Isle.
  598.
  599. Shara Ishvalda's original appearance after removing the rocks wrapped over its normal state. Its tangled plant-like outer shell and wing legs without skin are exposed, and it uses attacks that use crustal movement called "Earthly Explosions" and release vibration waves.
  600.
  601. Strong vibrations generated deep in the earth cause unprecedented crustal movements due to repetition and amplification. Its scale is such that it splits the Hoarfrost Reach, causes an avalanche, and makes on mountain disappear. These topographical changes not only have short-term effects, but also have medium-to-long-term effects on the surrounding organisms. An example has been confirmed in the Hoarfrost Reach. It was originally an area with deep snow, but it's said that crustal movement caused by Shara Ishvalda caused a strong cooling. Lava has dried up, and Velkhana, whose outer shell can no longer be maintained, has crossed the sea and appeared in the New World.
  602.
  603. It uses the Tenderplate on its forehead as a sensory organ and its eyes are thought to have degenerated due to its long underground life. It opens its eyes to its own predicament, but it's still in the process of evolution, and the possibility of acquiring unique senses other than sight can't be denied.
  604.
  605. The power of the oscillating waves generated by the oscillating organs on the wing legs. When covered in rocks, it looks like a giant fist, but when it returns to its original form, it has long fingers like the roots and branches of a tree. The wing legs stand out for their peculiarity. It must have originally been a wing. It's believed that the membrane that hinders underground life has degenerated and has developed into wing legs. In its original form, the vibrating organ also releases its true power. The entire wing leg becomes a vibration amplifier, matching the frequency to a specific position and generating a shockwave. There's also a technique to create shockwaves over a wide area by taking time to amplify and adjust the vibrations, and the threatening attack is called "Super Vibration Wave".
  606.
  607. Explosions of the ground that have become particles due to liquefaction. Part of the ground that received the aftermath of the shockwave's vibration liquefied, and it generated a small-scale shockwave there, so you should never neglect its feet.
  608.
  609. It wouldn't be surprising if some people described it as arms and fingers growing on their backs, rather than wings. While research reports on the details of the oscillating organ are awaited, it seems that many people are preparing for violent tremors so that they don't sway in place when the ground particles explode.
  610.
  611. In its original form, Shara Ishvalda has a unique luster that catches the eye. This is a bodilu fluid that has the property of sticking rocks together.
  612.
  613. During normal times, Shara Ishvalda lives deep underground, so there are many mysteries surrounding its lifestyle. All that's known is that it moved along the flow of the Everstream and periodically caused crustal movements. It was a great achivement to be able to identify the location by inferring from the traces of the crustal movements appearing on the surface and the time when they occurred. However, its eating habits are still unknown. The most likely hypothesis is that they moved at regular intervals in order to absorb energy from the Everstream. In addition, there's a sea shore in the Hoarfrost Reach, and it may created the Rotten Vale on the continent. This is because it was able to stay unaffected while Xeno'jiiva attracted many Monsters. The place of its birth later formed the Rotten Vale, where Dalamadur and others died. It proceeded underground with its own growth, from the isolated Origin Isle to the surface. It's interesting that the crustal movement caused by Shara Ishvalda can be considered the foundation for creating a new ecosystem in the long run. (From a certain researcher's nonsense that can't be recorded)
  614.
  615. After burrowing into the ground while liquefying the earth, it changes its position and emerges. It drops Super-Oscillating Waves condensed into a sphere from overhead, causing a large explosion.
  616.
  617. Exposing its true form, Shara Ishvalda, who's in the Eye-Opened State, makes its attacks even more ferocious. It moves faster and opens its eyes wide, and when you see its eyes as it relentlessly emit Super-Oscillating Waves, one feels awe. It can also actively unleash a powerful Super-Oscillating Wave that converges both wing legs forward and emits and piercing the tips of the wing legs to liquefy the ground. Among them, the most dangerous attack is known as "Destruction Lotus Cannon". This huge explosion, which boasts tremendous power, shakes the air and earth of the area, stirs up a large amount of dust, and reduces many lives to nothing.
  618.
  619. Those who can't escape from its range are threatened by the Destruction Lotus Cannon, whuch has such high power that it literally turns them into dust. It was so terrifying that even the ground, which had turned into particles, was instantly blown away.

  624. An Earth Dragon that fuses story and design with impressive changes in the game's phases. Just like making the Ice Dragon of Velkhana, Shara Ishvalda also says, "I want to express the Earth Dragon in 'MH' in earnest." I started with my thoughts. Among them, he came up with an idea that he would be a golem, wearing rock. Since it's a final boss fight, I wanted to put in a gradual change in him as an event. I don't know. In the first half, instead of cutting physical strength, he focuses on the play of destroying body parts, and in the second half, he fights against Shara Ishvalda who reveals her true identity. I thought that would lave a stronger impression on him as the final boss. Also, when he reveals his true identity, he destroys the rocks covering the map, and the dynamic expression of opening up the surrounding area is also a production he wanted to try.
  625.
  626. On the other hand, there was a proposal from the production side to include a song-like phenomenon in the hook of the story. If it's just a singing voice, it doesn't look like "MH", but if it's a form that can be interpreted as part of a natural phenomenon like an apocalyptic sound. The voice that the song is based on is also air vibration, so I thought it would match the ability to liquefy the ground with vibration. As a result, I think that he story and the design are well connected.

  634.
  635. Length: 1754.37cm
  636. Height: 577.22cm
  637. Foot Size: 260cm
  638.
  639. "A Rare Species of Rathian with a murmuring, shining golden carapace. It's said that when it enters the 'Incandescent State', the power of its flame breath increases, and the attack range with its tail also widens."
  640.
  641. A Rare Species of Rathian that's extremely rare. Her most distinctive feature is her golden shell, and because of her apperance, this female individual is also known as the "Golden Fire Wyvern". After an encounter in the Guiding Lands, it was discovered in the hinterlands of the Elder's Recess, so we asked a limited amount of skill Hunters to conduct a hunting survey. Known as the Queen of the Land, she has running power and toxicity that greatly surpasses Rathian, and in addition to her ability to shoot powerful flames, she also excels in air combat abilities. What's worth mentioning is that she attempts to strengthen the body in an extremely dangerous condition known as the Incandescent State, in which a high-temperature flame swells within the body. It's said that the high-output flame attack that she spits out turns the entire area into scorched earth.
  642.
  643. The back strength of this species greatly surpasses that of the normal species and Subspecies. That's why we're warned against coordinated attacks that display agile and complex movements. A relentless elimination act that tosses enemies, such as a bite attack that goes around the blind spot, a single shot or three consecutive high-fire breaths, and attacks that approach with a light threat and a quick dash to mow down the front with her tail. You can see the unique characteristics of a Rare Species. Her so-called "Somersault", which swings her tail around and mows down in all directions, also seems to be an attack with depth compared to the Subspecies. There are reports that the feeling continues.
  644.
  645. She makes you think it's a triple high-powered breath that's spit out in order from the front, right front, and left front, and shows the dexterity of moving to another action without spitting the third shot.
  646.
  647. In terms of appearance, including the gold-like outer shell that reflects light and shines glossy, there's no big difference from Rathian and the Subsecies. How was the golden shell formed, with its extremely flawless quality? No research results have been published yet. However, there are many researchers who belive that the derivation into diverse species with minimal physical changes is due exclusively to deit among living environments. It must have ingested special flora and fauna from some special land, and achieved an evolution.
  648.
  649. It's not hard to imagine they're carnivorous, but no predatory behaviour has been confirmed in the Elder's Recess. What did she eat to get this kind of physique?
  650.
  651. Although there are some difference sin the texture of the hair and the pattern of the membrane, it's likely that these are partly changing shape as the hardening part of the outer shell spreads.
  652.
  653. The strength of the venom emitted from the spikes on her tail is incomparable to that of the normal species and Subspecies. It's a so-called Deadly Poison.
  654.
  655. Did an individual living in an isolated land called an unexplored region become a Rare Species while ingesting the flor and fauna that live there? Continuing to be ingested mixed with meat, or even transformed by ingredients such as ores, is also conceivable.
  656.
  657. She who appeared in Nergigante's nest is a Rare Species of Rathian. The strange thing about her is that she doesn't show any signs of moving from where she is. Will she build a nest of her own in place of the Nergigante, who has made room for her to prey on the Elder Dragons? If he thinks this species is in breeding season... That may be why she's so suitable for nesting that she sticks to this spot. Then they meet in the lava zone. I'm longing for the time when a pair of Raths will come flying... I think I'm going to be laughed at as a fool drowning in romanticism. But her reason for avoidng predation may be explained by the fact that she's already full and ready to reproduce. (From the record of a certain biologist)
  658.
  659. The greatest feature of this species is its enhanced ability to store extremely high temperatures in its body, which is called the Incandescent State. The heat generated by intense exercise is stored in the Flame Sac inside the body. From the mouth to the neck and chest, her figure seems to be accumulating, leaking out a bluish-white glow of high heat. The flame breath emitted at this time produces a bluish glow, accompanied by tremendous burning properties. The flames that remain on the ground cause a chain of extremely violent explosions upon contact with further Incandescent Breaths.
  660.
  661. Be careful if this species in flames is at a high altitude. She spits out a high-output breath in a wide area ahead, and she fills the ground with the embers.
  662.
  663. The flesh of the head in an Incandescent State is markedly hardened. On the other hand, it was also revealed that we were able to calm down her Incandescent State by accumulating damage to her head.
  664.
  665. Anger improves the power of attacks and the skill of coordination. Along with the Incandescent State, she spits out a high-output flame attack following Somersault, making the fight even more intense.

  670. The reason for the appearance of two Rare Species is the same. Recently, she has appeared in various series, so I think there are many people who don't have that kind of image, but as the name suggests, she's a rare individual that grew up in a place where people can't enter. I don't even know if they exist, and that's why I don't understand their ecology. That's why I didn't want it to fly in places that would be immediately visible to people, or to appear in places that are strongly intertwined with other ecosystems. But this time, I was going to create a remote place called the Guiding Lands, so I thought it would be possible to launch there. After all, it's important for the player to have the motivation to raise the level in each zone, so I wanted something that would serve as a goal for him. The existence of a Rare Species is positioned as a special case above Subspecies, so the equipment made from the materials is also excellent, and it's worth it.
  671.
  672. That said, in the quest, it also appear sin the Elder's Recess, but I wanted it to be a Monster that appears base don the Guiding Lands, so I made a request that I don't want it to be aimlessly wandering. It's in its current form.

  680.
  681. Length: 1704.22cm

  683. Foot Size: 260cm
  684.
  685. "A Rare Species of Rathalos with a silvery-white carapace that quietly shines. When he enters his 'Incandescent State', the power of his breath and other actions increases, and his movements change even further."
  686.
  687. A Rare Species of Rathalos whose existence is extremely rare, this male individual is also known as the "Silver Fire Wyvern" due to his appearance covered in a solemnly lustrous silvery white carapace. Like Gold Rathian, the Guiding Lands are his habitat, but he also appeared in the Elder's Recess, and on incident is still fresh in our memory. The two of them, who are seen as mates, prioritize eliminating enemies above all else and work together in cooperation. One notable feature of this species is the improvement in air combat capabilities. He skillfully flies around in mid-air and chases down his prey with attacks such as a flurry of coordinated attacks driven by anger, a high-powered flame breath unleashes from a strengthened state called the Incandescent State, and an assault using his talons. I can't help but feel the dignity and the threat.
  688.
  689. This species is considered dangerous from the air, but it has been confirmed that he behaves on the ground in a variety of ways that aren't seen in the normal species and Subspecies. After gazing at prey, he bites in front of it, and when he steps in and bites it again, flames leak out from his mouth, and it can be seen that it's full of heat. In addition, he mercilessly attacks prey that he perceives as an enemy, such as by rapidly approaching as if to pounce and using the momentum of a forward somersault in the air to unleash a powerful scratching attack with his talons. As for the latter, he soars into the air, so when confronted, you'll be dominated by an indescribable sense of tension.
  690.
  691. Assault with talons that should be guarded against as an attack from the air. Even now, you need to prepare for the sudden attacks of various talons regardless of if he's in the air or on land, and their poison.
  692.
  693. In normal times, this species shows unique movements such as swinging around and wielding his tail, or spitting flame breath at his feet while maintaining a distance on his back turn. In addition to his manoeuvres on the ground, his flying attacks are even more troublesome than the Subspecies. Also, along with his anger, the threat becomes conspicuous. In addition to the fact that the power applied to the whole body increases, the range and power of the attack increases, and it's said that the slowness and speed are woven into the fierce coordinated attack, so he's uncontrollable.
  694.
  695. Followed by a flame breath after a back jump, followed by a flame breath that sweeps away from the wraparound. Right after that, the talons approach. The price for angering him is high.
  696.
  697. It's highly likely that the shiny silver outer shell of this species and the gold-dyed outer shell of Gold Rathian contain precious metal components.
  698.
  699. In addition to the high flight ability created by his strong wings and the leg skills created by his remarkably developed leg strength, you'll be able to witness the threat of the flame breath that produces the super-high output of a Fire Wyvern.
  700.
  701. Gold and silver, both seemingly paired, are unaffected by Dragon Element. On the other hand, they're weak to Thunder Element. I wonder if the electrical conductivity to the precious metal component has an effect.
  702.
  703. The majority view is that the Rare Species encountered in the New World are different from the populations that migrated from the Old World. This is because the special environments that are considered unexplored in various places give birth to beings called Rare Species. What is the Incandescent State that they manifest? It's an internal organ filled with dust that ignites just by touching it. By making the whole area of the New World where the Everstream energy circulates his habitat, the environment and diet may have given this organ some kind of strengthening effect. EVen while taking in air from the mouth when moving, it becomes possible to keep the state of being on the verge of igniting inside the body, which led to the strengthening of the body to withstand it. Possibly, similar mutations may be seen in other lands with unique environments. (From notes by an environmental researcher)
  704.
  705. In his Incandescent State, which leaks a bluish-white glow of high heat from his mouth to his neck and chest, it's believed to have the same strengthening ability as Gold Rathian. The flame breath that's released is bluish-white, and the tremendous explosion is accompanied by high combustability. From this, it's possible that both of them have already lived for a long time under the same environment. In the Lava Zone of the Guiding Lands, the living spheres of both of them have overlapped, and he two individuals met that met there started building nests in the Elder's Recess. Maybe.
  706.
  707. The hardening of the flesh of the head and the sedation of the Incandescent State are the same as those of Gold Rathian. Also, it's said that it doesn't show fatigue in the same state.
  708.
  709. When he's in Incandescent State, his flame breath is particularly intense, which he shoots from the air when he quickly approaches his prey and strikes horizontally and vertically. The fact that it continuously rolls out horizontally to vertically and vertically to horizontally is also a threat.
  710.
  711. When Silver Rathalos, also in the Incandescent State, stacks the fireball of his attack on the embers left on the ground by Gold Rathain in Incandescent State, it causes a chain of violent explosions. With their synergistic effect, they produce maximum firepower.

  715.
  716. When I thought about how to handle Rare Species with the emergence of , I decided to strengthen their attacks. In this case, two Rare Species and a reddish one are in a form that incorporates a certain effect of flame and flight. Speaking of MHW as a whole, this time he's giving her more control over his situation where he's fighting two animals at the same time. At the same time, since the hunting has been a part of the gameplay for these two Rare Species for a long time, I decided to add a special feature when their breath hits each other. If you look at them individually, even though they're Rare Species, Rahian is Rathian and Rathalos is Rathalos. But, on the contrary, I also have a strong feeling that I don't want to make him do something so strange. Therefore, when the two overlap, a synergistic effect is created, and the strength is improved. There's also a reason why he has the same two in the area.
  717.
  718. Rathalos and Rathian are Monsters that originally had a strong image of a pair, but as Rare Species, I think you could feel the bond between individuals who grew up in a special environment.

  725. Frostfang Barioth
  726.
  727. Length: 2098.30cm
  728. Height: 615.96cm
  729. Foot Size: 229cm
  730.
  731. "A Variant of Barioth. It releases a cryogenic breath that drives its prey into the frozen ground. Be careful, as you'll fall into a frozen state if you touch the frozen ground."
  732.
  733. A Variant of Barioth named "Frostfang", comparing its two fangs, sharpened by the freezing of the extremely low temperature, to two swords. Its steadfastness, which has survived for a long time in a harsh environment, and its usage of hardened ice shwo the high degree of danger. Like the normal species, it has a ferocious personality. Its breath, which freezes anything it touches, seals the footing of its prey, restricting their movement, and it specializes in high-certainty hunting that takes it to the finish line. Their movement on the ice is more powerful than that of other species, as they can continuously rush, pounce, and slam after jumping up. It can be said that these are proof that they are excellent individuals that have survived in harsh regions where food is scarce even in the Hoarfrost Reach.
  734.
  735. The breath of this species, which exhales cryogenic cold air from its body, seems to be different in nature from the breath emitted by other species. When it hits the ground, it freezes the surrounding moisture and creates a large amount of frost. Prey whose legs are caught in the frost are exposed to a frozen state that makes them unable to move. It's the same as the normal species in that prey suffers Ice Element damage. However, if you have to watch your step while standing around, the degree of trouble will increase dramatically. It's also skillful in handling breaths, such as straight lines, radiation, and continuous ejection to the left and right, and concentration at the feet.
  736.
  737. Frost produce by cryogenic breath. It's so cold that it freezes, making it difficult for exposed prey to escape.
  738.
  739. One of the major characteristics of Frostfang Barioths are their pale, frozen tusks. Their length and size aren't much different from those of the normal species, but their sharpness is overwhelmingly different. It can be said that it has both the certainty of killing its prey and the sharpness of scraping off frozen meat to eat it. In addition, around the head and on the front of the front legs, hair that's normally not seen in other species can be confirmed. This fur is an organ with a high anti-freezing effect, and it's thought that it has the effect of preventing the sluggishness of activities caused by freezing. It's suggest that both have changed and adapted to survive in the frigid environment.
  740.
  741. Since the parts covered with fur are concentrated on the head and front legs, it's possible that it was not only adapting to the environment, but also self-defence against the extremely cold breath it exhaled.
  742.
  743. This document was created based on the report of the Fifth Fleet group of steady people who endured the cold and hid in the trees many times and witnessed it. With its cold and imposing figure, the words "The Last White Knight" naturally comes to one's mouth, and it seems to have the dignity of a veteran.
  744.
  745. Its breath, which spits out a concentrated form of extremely cold air, is also a threat, creating ice blocks on the ground it touches. Since the flames of the Slinger's Torch Pod are effective in removing and preventing the frost remaining on the ground, they're used in conjunction with the Iceproof Mantle that softens the freezing conditions.
  746.
  747. A Variant that has recently been confirmed to inhabit the area, the more research you do, the more you'll be surprised by the ecology that seems to have been optimized for the extremely cold regions. This is speculative, but I even began to think that there was a colder place deep in the Hinterlands, from which it came. It must be an individual that has survived in a region where there are fewer creatures to feed on than in this frozen land. I'm also curious about how it came to grow its fur. Is it the influence of the environment mentioned above, or the influence of the cryogenic breath? Regarding the latter view, I would like to expedite research on internal organs that are thought to be Cryo Sacs, but... In the case of this species, if you take it out of a body that has stopped vital activity, it will immediately die and wither away. It really makes researchers cry. (From a note by a certain researcher)
  748.
  749. An individual that has survived steadily with its highly reliable hunting ability. This species is said to be a long-lived individual that survived in a harsh environment. But if you think of it as old and decrepit, you are greatly mistaken. It's precisely because it didn't decline that it was able to continue to live. In order to survive in a colder environment with fewer prey, it was necessary to improve the accuracy of hunting, acquire strong fangs and bodies, and survive the fierce competition for survival. Frostfang Barioth is an astonishing creature that has acquired the strength to withstand a harsh environment. The form of hunting that makes full use of its cryogenic breath and assaults the prey that has been frozen is probably the result of its long hunting experience and skill.
  750.
  751. By continuing to spit out a cryogenic breath, the protruding fangs have turned into ice blades. In addition, the fur that radiates from the mouth plays a role in protecting the head. Occasionally, it seems to polish the frozen wall by rubbing its fangs. It may also be itchy.
  752.
  753. A frozen state robs prey of their freedom. When it takes aim and jumps up strongly, it tries to follow up with a slamming strike with its front legs.
  754.
  755. Similar to the normal species, the protrusions found on the palm also strengthen the anti-slip effect, and become the power to grip the frozen ground. At the same time, the fur that covers its front legs provides a snowshoe effect, which is useful for navigating snowy terrain.
  756.
  757. It's said that the investigators carrying a large amount of luggage got caught up in a fierce battle between this Variant and Velkhana. Fact-checking is urgent.

  761.
  762. A belated Variant who has survived for a long time in the frigid land and manipulates elements. As for the direction of the design, I had an image of Barioth with repeated growth rings, so I made his body hair long and his fangs frozen with ice, making him pale and with a glaring expression. The reason I covered it with silver was because I wanted to make it a Monster that would only grow in such an extremely cold region. Also, in the play part, it's better to make it a Monster that uses the Ice Element to bargain with you, rather than the normal type that uses its power and quickness to get tangled up. I made adjustments to make them aware of this. That's why her nature is similar to that of Legiana.
  763.
  764. However, due to the influence of the new coronavirus, it was scheduled to be delivered at the same time as Alatreon, and it's also a pitiful Monster. A person with good intuition may have noticed, but in terms of strength, he actually planned to implement it sooner. It was a Monster that left me with such regrets, but I've heard people say that they were relieved to see it appear as a cooling agent in the midst of the series of high difficulty levels, so I wonder if the result was good, I think.

  771. Furious Rajang
  772.
  773. Length: 829.11cm
  774. Height: 415.89cm (Upright) / 391.80cm (Up to shoulder)
  775. Foot Size: 50cm
  776.
  777. "It's a golden lion whose hair is always bristled golden and the word 'danger' is an understatement."
  778.
  779. Rajang is a Fanged Beast that's said to be a super-aggressive creature, but there's a Variant that always emits a golden glow, strongly affected by uncontrollable rage. A fierce attack of anger is a touch of armoured arms. Because it's clearly different from normal individuals in terms of danger, even among the "Golden Lions", it's called "Furious Rajang" and treated differently. While the reason why it appeared in the Hoarfrost Reach isn't clear, the investigation team was greatly surprised by the fact that it appeared in the Rotten Vale where Blackveil Vaal Hazak roamed. Also, the difference of a Variant isn't only in its appearance. In addition to the violent release of electrical strikes that accompany its violent aggressiveness, the release of the Furious State led by extreme anger is the Child of Destruction. It unleashes overwhelming violence.
  780.
  781. The Fighting Spirit that a normal individual manifests with anger, and in the Variant, it can be said to be a notable feature and threat of this species. Fighting Spirit consumes a lot of Bioenergy, and the burden on Rajang itself is also very large. It's believed that the act of releasing the Fighting Spirit on one's own when a short-term decisive battle can't be achieved is due to an instinctive restraint. In other words, the fact that it continues to maintain its Fighting Spirit state itself shows the amazing strength of its latent power. In its normal state of Fighting Spirit, it could easily destroy the Pitfall Traps that Hunters had set up for a while. Naturally, they have a hidden Fighting Instinct that's incomparable to normal individuals, and on top of that, Furious Rajang that also develop Rampage Mode are extremely dangerous.
  782.
  783. A Rajang is treated as an Elder Dragon-level creature. This species, which competes for territory on equal footing with Nergigante and others, should be called a Super Elder Dragon-level creature.
  784.
  785. Concerning the emotional control of a Rajang who has lost its tail, it has been thought that the stimulation applied to the tail gives some kind of shake to the Rajang's emotions. However, the tail of this species doesn't form the shape it should. This is probably the reason why it can no longer control its anger. As a result of the muscles expanding too much due to the electrical stimulation of Rampage Mode, the tail, which had the control function, couldn't withstand the load and was lost. One researcher suggests that Rajang itself may have ripped off its own tail in its quest for strength.
  786.
  787. In addition to its powerful movements that surpass normal individuals, it also shows skill such as flipping its body after striking and jumping up lightly to spit out Thunderballs.
  788.
  789. The Rampage Mode ability that strengthens the front legs is still intact. On the contrary, Furious Rajang is the one who pushes the impulse of anger to the limit and releases the form called its rage, and it tramples others with overwhelming power.
  790.
  791. A form in which Fighting Spirit has become normal. It's said that the stronger the individual grows, the brighter the golden colour of its hair. I'm thinking that the ones with conspicuous stripes are still growing. Its long, drooping tail has lost its shape.
  792.
  793. The Thunderball Breath that it spits out from the air charges the ground and causes an explosion on the spot. ONe of its threats in an enraged state.
  794.
  795. The greatest characteristic of Furious Rajang is the manifestation of a state of rage. Rajang's body hair covering the whole body is known to have a special hollow structure that conducts electricity, each one of which is tubular. The electrical energy generated within its body travels through its cavities, and the whole body is filled with power. In this species, I would say, are in the state of being incapable of controlling electric energy through rage and excitement. This is also the reason why its golden body hair and the brilliance of its flashing lightning are dazzling compared to normal individuals.
  796.
  797. Where did the Rajang come from? When the Kirin was spotted in the Hoarfrost Reach, it was thought to be an individual who had been defeated by the Rajang and escaped from the Guiding Lands. In other words, the two lands are connected to each other, but... Frustratingly, it needs further investigation, including why Rajang appeared in the Hoarfrost Reach. On the other hand, I would like to think about the reason why the Rajang showed up in the Guiding Lands, based on the act that no other Fanged Beast species have been confirmed to inhabit, and the fact that I encountered an individual performing the ritual of adulthood. Some researchers say something like this. "It migrated on the huge body of Zorah Magdaros", he said. I don't know, it's a story that he completely denies and can't finish. Others seem to think "he followed the Kirin to the Guiding Lands for the ritual of adulthood as an individual that lived in the Hoarfrost Reach." (From the notes of a certain investigator)
  798.
  799. A stimulus big enough to destroy the tail suppresses the Rajang's rage, so this aim is meaningless for this species. However, it was one of the few elements that could be said to be a weakpoint. However, on the other hand, there are reports that the stimulation of the horns has calmed its Rampage Mode and rage state. Like the tail, those horns are likely the part that influences its like emotions, like Rajang ambition.
  800.
  801. A figure in a Furious State, as if angered like the heavens. Its golden hair, wrapped in its powerful electricity, stood up even more fiercely, and its back sprouted small wings, giving the impression of flight. A torrent of too strong power. The cost marks its short life.
  802.
  803. When it puts its hands on the wall to endure the fall, Rajang usually pounces to counterattack. This kind of counterattack is mowed down with its lightning breath.
  804.
  805. Attacks that it normally shows, such as attacks that strike while jumping with its front legs protruding sideways, and attacks that swing its left and right front legs alternately to strike. This species is also becoming more dangerous. If this becomes a state of rage, it will be able to show off an even higher degree of fierce aggression. The fierceness unique to this species can also be seen in its attacks that include lightning strikes, and it attacks with multiple Thunderballs that it scatters after jumping up, and a fierce attack that uses an attack that seems to split the ground by thrusting its front legs into the ground. It thoroughly destroys prey that it regards as an enemy. Add to this the strengthening of the body through Rampage Mode, and its destructive power and attack range become a threat of an order of magnitude.
  806.
  807. Electric energy is compressed inside the body. In addition to spitting out of its mouth, it can also release it from the fur on its front legs, sending lightning strikes from its throat in three directions to you, enough to tear the ground.
  808.
  809. In its enraged state, it unleashes a powerful Thunder breath from close range on prey that it restrains with its front legs. After that, it jumps high and slams its prey to the ground, but it also sees surrounding enemies and aims for them accurately.

  814. By the time the update came around this time, the players had become more skilled, so I wanted to release more and more challenging Monsters and let them play with their own preferences. He had already appeared in Rajang, so he was Furious, and there was a part that met the user's expectations that Rajang would also appear. Even on my part, it was necessary to make adjustments to tie it to the nature of the game this time, but since Rajang is a Monster that doesn't have a fixed habitat, it would be strange to put it into the Guiding Lands where various Monsters gather. It wasn't there, was it? In his first appearance in MHP2ndG, the story began with the release of an enhanced version of Rajang, who was the strongest creature at the time. I buy it.
  815.
  816. Also, if the tail, which has a calming function, is cut off, and the angry golden hair becomes the default state, it would be just right from a game design point of view as a Monster with one level higher strength. Well, you can often see him in comics (laughs). Now, speaking of Rajang, the image of her is more gold than black.

  824. Raging Brachydios
  825.
  826. Length: 2282.77cm
  827. Height: 883.69cm
  828. Foot Size: 231cm
  829.
  830. "It's an extremely dangerous wyvern that coexists with a peculiar slime mold that's more active than usual."
  831.
  832. A Variant of of Brachydios whose robust carapace called Indestructible Ebonshell emits a jade-coloured glow. The slime mold enveloping its giant body activates, reaching a critical state. The slime mold, which is about to explode at any moment, is suitable for the name of "Flashpoint Slime" and threatens who who confront it. In the Old World, it's an individual that has been confirmed to inhabit only on lava islands considered to be polar regions. Therefore, the encounter in the Guiding Lands was a shock to the research team. Even in that place, activity seems to be visible only in a very narrow area centred around the Lava Zone. In addition to Brachydios's original wild fighting instinct, it's also reported that it has extremely dangerous habits that make use of the enormous explosive power of slime mold that has changed in nature.
  833.
  834. Living in symbiosis with the slime mold makes this species a Variant. The slime mold that this species clings to is unusually activated compared to the slime mold that normally coexists with the species. The slime mold that scatters spores when it explodes normally germinates on the spot. However, it's said that there are rare cases that don't germinate and become buried in the stratum and enter a dormant state, emerging on the surface due to magma eruptions or ground fluctuations. It displays a dangerously activated state that produces tremendous explosive power. For Brachydios, the strength of the symbiotic slime mold to the strength of the individual. The strength that it shows off is the truth that it seeks.
  835.
  836. Its name is Flashpoint Slime. The brutality of the stored explosive power is worthy of astonishment.
  837.
  838. Raging Brachydios, with a strong body that can withstand the explosive power of a unique slime mold, tends to be larger than the normal species. The symbiosis with the Flashpoint Slime, which is exposed to the mighty explosive force, itself places a great burden on the whole body. Only those with a strong, gigantic body that can withstand such a burden, even though it's painful, have won survival as Variants. Maybe it's the increase in weight proportional to the size of its body or maybe it's the relationship that suppresses the impact on the slime mold that's attached to it, but its overall movements are a little heavy. Because of this, the power that can be put into the attack is strong, and it boasts extremely high offensive power.
  839.
  840. (Normal State) - A figure in normal times clad in Flashpoint Slime. The slime mold attached to its head, front legs, and tail drips to the ground and explodes when impacted. It takes less time to explode than normal slime molds and is dangerous.
  841.
  842. If you touch the slime mold with your hands, you'll be blown away by explosions like the normal species, but other explosions are also dangerous. An impact from Watermoss and Water Element weapons are useful for eliminating and neutralizing slime mold.
  843.
  844. (Slime Mold Active State) - Flashpoint Slime activation can be seen. The growth and activity of the slime mold can be seen over time, and it seems that activity is rapidly promoted along with the excitement of this species. Characterized by critical redness.
  845.
  846. When investigating changes in body colour in Raging Brachydios, ore components that can only be produced in high-temperature and high-pressure environments were detected from the surface of the shell. This is thought to be the reason for the more greenish body colouration than usual. The astonishing explosive power of the Flashpoint Slime must have altered its outer shell. The abnormal activity of the slime mold has been attributed to the unique environment of the Ingle Isle. However, as a result of examining the slime molds that live symbiotically with the large Variants, we came to the conclusion that they're in the same state of activity as the slime molds confirmed in the New World. According to the testimony of a researcher who knows the Ingle Isle, the environments of the Guiding Lands' Lava Zone and Ingle Isle are similar. (From a certain environmental researcher)
  847.
  848. Needless to say, a Variant whose whole body is activated to the point of critical mass is extremely dangerous. It seems that Brachydios itself isn't in a favourable state either. Perhaps in order to avoid self-harm due to the explosion, when the activation of the slime mold progresses to a certain extent, it scatters a large amount of slime mold over a wide area in the form of self-excretion. It eroded the whole area. The slime mold engulfs most with a large explosion.
  849.
  850. This species discovered in the Guiding Lands has special behaviours not found in the same species in the Old World. When it encounters a formidable enemy that threatens it, it begins to move deep into the Volcanic Region. It's not fleeing from them, nor is it returning to rest. When the chasing enemy steps into its innermost territory, it unleashes a series of angry shockwaves on the ground, and it activates the slime mold in the enre area, instantly causing a large-scale explosion. It envelops the area in a sea of scorching heat, accompanied by an upheaval of topography that blocks the path. For the sake of victory, Brachydios guides enemies into an environment favourable to it. On the other hand, the environment surrounded by hellfire in a narrow cave robs Brachydios of its own physical strength. For it, in order to slaughter the enemy as soon as possible, it will launch a fiercer attack.
  851.
  852. With a sudden roar, it scatters the activated slime mold around. The slime mold at the site where activation is seen should be eliminated or neutralized as soon as possible.
  853.
  854. In the stage of the decisive battle called "Land of Deadly Battle", the scorching heat mixed with slime mold erases the effects of the Farcaster and prevents the setting of traps.
  855.
  856. The whole body is tinged with brown, slime mould mutation in active state. In its territories in the depths of the Volcanic Region, it's in its true form as it uses its full power to bring down enemies. From its head and forelegs rises a smoke like steam.

  861. Since development was concentrated on the release of Alatreon and Fatalis after this, it was assumed that it would be difficult to incorporate big news. But since it's after Safi'jiiva, people who have been working hard and have him are well equipped. In that case, it's not a Subspecies, but if you don't make it an individual that can't let go, it's hard to leave an impression on the player. I can't get it out. There's lava in the Elder's Recess, but there's Teostra, too. When he thought about where the slime mold would grow, the deepest part of the Guiding Lands felt right for him.
  862.
  863. The Furious Rajang that was released at the same time was a game where you had to survive a short exchange with full gear from the beginning, so I thought of this as a long game with a development that drives you in and gets you excited at the end. If you put a lock on the final aream it will become a special arena, and I thought it would be interesting from a production point of view to repartition it, stand on the starting line again, and have a hard-fought battle where there's no escape. Therefore, during this period, he wanted players to play according to their tastes and challenge themselves.

  876. "This may be absurd, but by controlling energy, it may be reshaping the ecosystem of the land it's settled on to suit its own convenience."
  877.
  878. An Elder Dragon species boasting a gigantic reddish-brown body that was confirmed in the Secluded Valley located in the deepest part of the Guiding Lands. Its true identity is that it, whose birth was witnessed at the Confluence of Fates, is a separate form of Xeno'jiiva that has grown and reached adulthood. It circulates energy can be generated within its body, and is a kind of perfect organism that doesn't need energy intake from the outside. Recognized as a new species by the Hunter's Guild, it was named Safi'jiiva, meaning "perfect life". Another name is "Red Dragon". With the ability to absorb Bioenergy from the earth, it transforms the surrounding ecological environment into an unprecedented existence. It's a great threat that instantly erases things, and is far beyond Human intelligence.
  879.
  880. Safi'jiiva is sometimes also called "perfect life". Xeno;jiiva, which was a newborn juvenile, could be seen as unable to control its own internal energy and wielded violence. However, after molting and growing into an adult, this species is capable of generating and circulating the energy necessary for its activities within its body. The next instinct sought by Safi'jiiva, who has reached that level, is self-preservation and proliferation. It searches for potential habitats, finds suitable land, and begins to transform the ecosystem of the surrounding area into an environment that's convenient for itself.
  881.
  882. Affects Bioenergy veins, attracting creatures from different habitats. An example is the Stygian Zinogre who appeared in the Guiding Lands.
  883.
  884. Safi'jiiva's outer shell is said to form complex layers and patterns during the growth process that repairs wounds by promoting metabolism with internal energy. Each one of its shells and scales is extremely hard, and combined with its muscular strength, which has achieved tremendous development, it boasts a tough flesh just like armour. On the other hand, it was confirmed that there was no small amount of fragility in the joints of the outer shell. The results of a survey showing that tenderizing attacks using the Clutch Claw are effective confirm this fact. It's easier to tenderize than other Monsters, and it's said that this condition lasts for a relatively long time. However, such fragility is trivial for a perfect creature because it absorbs Bioenergy veins and instantly heals wounds. Regarding this matter, the following report has also come up from the research group. "Safi'jiiva seems to be healing wounds, letting its own internal energy help it tremendously accelerate the metabolism of the injured area." Absorption of ground energy is a replenishment of energy that it has consumed.
  885.
  886. A Safi'jiiva that has perfected the ability to absorb earth vein energy and circulate it as internal energy. When the surrounding earth vein energy is temporarily depleted, it moves to another stratum.
  887.
  888. A body from which the imperfections seen in Xeno'jiiva have been eliminated as it sheds its skin. The outer shell, through which the internal organs were transparent, also formed a strong, brownish-red colour. With this gigantic body, it can soar over the land and even fly.
  889.
  890. With a short but bifurcated tongue and huge horns twisted by excessive growth, the head gives off a strange presence that isn't bound by the framework of living beings. The light-emitting organs (sensory organs for it to capture Bioenergy) that were seen on its head when it was a juvenile have become unnecessary and degenerated, and its eyes are open.
  891.
  892. The newly grown horns can't keep up with the overwhelming growth of the original horns, and are torn in the form of being pulled by the original horns.
  893.
  894. Xeno'jiiva, who was just born, didn't even know the degree of danger approaching it, and it spread hostility towards everyone who approached it. Growing up and gaining its powers to reshape ecosystems, Safi'jiiva pinpoints its target for hostility. It seems that it has a habit of cornering those who are hostile to it with excessive obsession.
  895.
  896. The structure of the wings is similar to that seen in Flying Wyvern species such as Rathalos. The 2nd-to-5th fingers and the interdigital membrane that connects the back has a membrane like that. Compared with juveniles, the growth of the 2nd bone finger is large and conspicuous.
  897.
  898. The base of the upper wing bone that supports the large wing and the area around the anterior membrane have particularly strong muscles. The spikes on the tail, which were small in juveniles, have also grown large and increased in number.
  899.
  900. For those who harm it, it uses its head, limbs, and tail to eliminate them by mowing down or slamming them. Any attack it unleashes from its massive body can be a threat, including bites and lunges. Above all, one needs the utmost vigilance for its various breath attacks that change the compression rate of internal energy and release it. It has also been confirmed that it restrains an enermy and showers them with the hellfire of its breath that has accumulated power. In addition, it also demonstrates the ability to explode the earth vein energy when it hits the ground with its limbs and tail. If it's using the site of injury, it seems to promote healing at the same time.
  901.
  902. Xeno'jiiva is called the Dark Light Dragon. Even in this form, it was a juvenile, and the high energy accumulated in its body posed a terrifying threat.
  903.
  904. (Supercritical State) - A form in which the internal energy that circulates through the veins of the whole body is accumulated in the light-emitting organs in the chest, and the activation of itself is strengthened. It unleases its astonishing power in the lowest layer of the Secluded Valley. While exhibiting great strength, softening of the flesh is observed.
  905.
  906. What is proliferation in Safi'jiiva's survival strategy? It's not difficult to imagine that it's probably asexual reproduction by Safi'jiiva alone. And this is a really insane speculation, but... "Sapphire of the Emperor" creates tremendous explosive power from the concentrated living body's energy. Isn't that the key to unraveling the reproductive behaviour of Safi'jiiva, the mass of energy that's passed onto offspring? If it's enough Bioenergy to create an "Emperor of Elder Dragons", it would be able to be used for tremendous explosive power. The ingredients are completely unknown, but I can't help but think that the energy associated with reproduction is diverted. It grows over a long period of time while accumulating earth vein energy in the Secluded Valley where it lives, and creates new life with the "Sapphire of the Emperor". After making several of them, it turned its attention to the outside of the valley and arrived at the Confluence of Fates in order to keep the vein energy of each individual separate. A drop of the "Sapphire of the Emperor" that was created there turned into Xeno'jiiva who was confronted by the investigative team. Of course, none of this is beyond the realm of imagination. The Confluence of Fates is a place where the concentraion of earth vein energy is stronger than the Secluded Valley. Because of this, it's possible that Xeno'jiiva grew faster than other individuals, or that it was born as an individual with a singularity. The details are awaiting future research, but at the moment the hypothesis seems to make sense. (From a certain Third Fleet researcher)
  907.
  908. The adult form of Xeno'jiiva, who was called the "Emperor of Elder Dragons", was unmistakably "Emperor of Elder Dragons". It flutters its giant wings, emitting a pale glow below its eyes, which are enveloped in blue flames. Condensing the internal energy to a minimum, its breath dropped down to the ground, releasing explosive energy in an instant. It's the ultimate blow that eliminates all things in the area with a dazzling light. A person who witnessed the scene named it "Sapphire of the Emperor". It seems that this act is only invoked under limited circumstances, as this act puts a strain on Safi'jiiva itself.
  909.
  910. The severity of the attack due to to the Supercritical State isn't comparable to when it was a juvenile. In addition to it being accompanied by the eruption of earth vein energy when attacking with various attacks and its main body, it may also cause a cave-in when it hits the ceiling by swinging its breath upwards.
  911.
  912. The "Sapphire of the Emperor" that is squeezed out of the body. Its explosive power is terrifying, and it's said that no one would be able to survive without hiding behind rocks and other strong shields.

  917. In "MHW:IB" as well, I wanted to include a new Siege with 16 players. Therefore, Kulve Taroth and he changed their minds, skipped the preparation stage of collecting traces, and implemented it until they cooperated only in battle. However, I didn't like the fact that you can only play with people who are good at it, so I used depleting the earth vein energy and let them go to the deepest part, so even if you didn't fight directly, you could hurt them or throw them out their breath. The system allows each player to contribute, even if it's just by letting them play. The reason we put it in at the time was that we wanted to provide end content that would change the perspective of the player, such as Awakening weapons, rather than just collecting materials.
  918.
  919. In designing it, I wanted to create the surprise of "This is what Xeno'jiiva looks like when it's grown up". but at the same time, I wanted it to be The Dragon, the rival of Fatalis. However, when it comes to strong-looking designs, it tends to be a black colour, so instead, he decided to try a different colour that can be described in one word, and he took on the challenge of creating art from the word Red Dragon. I made it so that you can see her faintly, and you can feel the remnants of her from the days of Xeno'jiiva. So, rather than originality, he's aiming for a simple dragon statue of her.

  933.
  934. As an Elder Dragon species that's said to be a "Symbol of Destruction", its existence is taboo such that people even hesitate to call it by its name. While it's said to wield all the forces of nature, most of the records related to it have been burned. It's said to be the strongest Elder Dragon that makes even gods fear it, and there are many who worship it as a god. The rumour that it looks different depending on who sees it is probably one of the reasons why it's deified. Its name, Alatreon, means "Dawn's Triumph". It's praised by those who survived the threat of a natural disaster. An individual that suddenly appeared in the Secluded Valley enveloped the entire depths with scorching heat. In front of that horrifying spectacle, does it inspire in others a sense of awe?
  935.
  936. Of the scales that grow on a Monster's body, only one standing scale is called a "Reverse Scale", and is known for its high rarity. However, Alatreon's scales are all plates, and this is extremely rare. Unlike normal creatures, countless plates are lined up from the bottom to the top as if to pierce the heavens in its form form that's unavoidably aggressive. The reason for forming such an outer shell hasn't yet been elucidated. However, it's said that they inhabit volcanic craters and seabeds with high water pressure, where other creatures usually don't approach, and it's surmised that such an environment has an effect.
  937.
  938. Jet black scales, which grow in the opposite direction to normal creatures, accentuate the peculiarity of Alatreon. It has a sharp overall shape and is characterized by a texture reminiscent of metal. Clad in a bluish-purple sparkle.
  939.
  940. Among the individuals discovered in the New World, the Reverse Scales are called "Mantles". It's said that they contain traces of all elements.
  941.
  942. Even in the whole body, the chest is where the large and conspicuous scales are densely packed. Its scales are deformed and bloated like they're protecting it. It also protects the chest from erupting magma and boiling water geysers.
  943.
  944. The skeleton of the body isn't so different from other Elder Dragon species with four legs and wings. It has a long neck and resembles Kushala Daora, but its neck and tail are thick and strong.

  946. The bloated pus that grows on the chest moves according to the posture during flight and lowers the position to fill the gap. It doesn't hurt itself even if it shakes its head. The horns of the head, which has a characteristic bifurcated shape, have bones that look like splintered horn cores.
  947.
  948. Scales slide due to pectoral muscle contraction. Scales overlap at the base, increasing the volume a little.
  949.
  950. When sprayed with flammable liquid, the flame breath rages. If lightning strikes the icicles generated on the ground, it will cause an explosion. No matter what form it takes, water and lightning strikes double the threat.
  951.
  952. In addition to the Fire Active and Ice Active states, three morphological changes were confirmed, including the Dragon Active state. Based on its powerful breath attack that makes use of its active elements, its elements can be manipulated regardless of its active state, such as lightning strikes over a wide range and a water breath, and also play a role in the threat. The difference in activation state can be visually recognized from the changes of the colour of the light that leaks out from the gaps in the scales and shell. We believe that this is the proof of the tales that we've heard that it looks different depending on who sees it.
  953.
  954. It's an Elder Dragon species with extremely few sightings and encounters. Since the sightings in the land once called the "Sacred Land", there have been no notable sighting reports until the recent encounter in the New World in the "Secluded Valley".
  955.
  956. Does it require a huge amount of Dragon Element energy to switch between Fire and Ice, and is it trying to amplify the energy in its Dragon Active state? If an act similar to predation, which is still unknown, is confirmed, the research will deepen.
  957.
  958. Alatreon has no internal organs or ecological behaviours related to elements such as Ice and Fire. Most likely, it maintains its biological activity based on the Dragon Element energy it generates and circulates within its body. I wonder if the Fire Active state and Ice Active state convert the Dragon Element energy into each element and manifest it. On the other hand, the possibility that the horns could have the ability to control elements has long been a source of speculation. Given the fact that the destruction of the dragon's horn in its active state prevented it from switching between its Fire and Ice Active states, it doesn't seem out of place.
  959.
  960. Large, bristling horns, similar to scales. Receiving a sever impact while Dragon is active will temporarily interfere with elemental control.
  961.
  962. In its Dragon Active state, the fluorescent parts on its body emit a faint purple light. This body is clad in red and white Dragon lightning, and it can manipulate all five elements, including Fire and Ice.
  963.
  964. Why did it visit the Secluded Valley? Is the Red Dragon the cause? In the Secluded Valley, where the adult Xeno'jiiva called the Red Dragon lives, Alatreon appeared. Luckily, they didn't get into a direct fight, but if they clashed, it would have been a strange and absent situation. Here we researchers are thinking about why Alatreon appeared in the New World. According to the observation team's report, it clearly seemed to be aiming for the Secluded Valley. In other words, there is no doubt that the purpose was the existence of the Red Dragon. Not long after it arrived, it burned down the surroundings as if to wipe out traces of the Red Dragon, and from the sight of it, I could even sense its anger. If it weren't for this, the investigation team would've faced the others, and it's hard to imagine what kind of situation we would've been in. We've been talking a lot lately about ecosystem homeostasis now that we've had more time to think about it. After investigating the New World and the Hoarfrost Reach, it seems that the homeostasis of individual organisms creates the homeostasis of nature as a whole. It's currently concluded that the investigation team's actions involving Shara Ishvalda and Nergigante were the result of this. Based on this premise, it seems that the existence of Alatreon is a counter to the unprecedented mutation of Safi'jiiva. In order to recreate the environment and ecology that were conveniently remodeled, we needing something that could destroy everything... It may be too much of a leap for it to think that. However, the reasoning is consistent. If it becomes a threat like an Elder Dragon, it may be fighting over territory on a continental scale, no, on a planetary scale. (From a note by a certain ecological researcher)
  965.
  966. This attack, which unleashes an extreme shockwave containing all elements, is called "Escaton Judgment". To be honest, it might not be an intentional attack for Alatreon. When it transitions from a Dragon Active state to a Fire or Ice Active state, it releases a tremendously powerful combined energy, that's all. Its power, comparable to that of a natural disaster, is said to take away the vitality of all things in an instant.
  967.
  968. Escaton Judgment releases the concentrated power in Dragon Active state all at once. A merciless flash of light and silence envelops the area, Fire or Ice. I found that you can suppress the power by infusing contradictory elements into its active state. Will my strength to withstand the final judgment be tested?
  969.
  970. After releasing explosive energy with Escaton Judgment, it transitions to either a Fire Active state with a large-scale explosion or an Ice Active state with the generation of countless ice crystals. With the power of scorching heat and freezing, even the surrounding scenery changes drastically.
  971.
  972. The unknown energy that circulates within the body of the Blazing Black Dragon, the generation of Dragon, Thunder, and Water Elements, and if you think of them as the source of Fire and Ice elements, it's also the source of this species' power. It looks like it's going to be close.

  977. Embodying the playfulness that is the theme of "MHW:IB", it's a Monster born in "MH3 (Tri)", a Symbol of Destruction that manipulates multiple elements, and inherits the legacy of Fatalis. While Elder Dragons specialize in certain elements, Alatreon is expressed as something of a higher rank that can handle multiple of those elements. As a result, everyone accepted him, and he became a Monster every time he said "I want you to put it out" and got it. Also, at the time, the director of MHW, Yuya Tokuda, was the one who designed Alatreon, so there was a time when we were trying to bring it out in MHW. For various reasons, it didn't materialize there, but it was decided to bring it back to life in MHW:IB.
  978.
  979. In the past, we used to switch between elements depending on Alatreon's state, such as Ice Element when flying, but this time we've made it a cycle of switching between element turns. The reason why I added a Dragon Element as a cushion is because I thought that if I used it well, I could prevent the switch between Fire and Ice, and I could play around with strategy and development. In addition, I hope that he will enjoy the thrilling situation of confronting a contraindicated existence by adding an impactful technique like Escaton Judgment. Basically, it's a Monster that strongly expresses the theme of "MHW:IB", which is that he's requiring using elemental attacks.

  992. "It's all an event that was meant to happen... The one who destroyed Schrade was the Black Dragon, Fatalis. It's a black nightmare that only exists in fairy tales."
  993.
  994. A legendary dragon whose name has been passed down since ancient times. It's said that when the kingdom reached the height of its prosperity, it destroyed the kingdom and settled in its castle. The earth trembles, the trees burn, the birds and dragons disappear, the sun disappears, and the ancient calamities disappear. Traditions that describe these phenomena as omens of its appearance say that it has existed as a fairy tale for 1000 years in children's songs. Known as the "Black Dragon" due to its ominous appearance with its grotesque body dyed in jet black, it has been feared as an evil dragon that transcends living beings and possesses overwhelming destructive power. It unleashes the power of hellfire to destroy anyone, and burns up everything it sees. Will it bring a chaotic calamity to the world when a mighty threat beyond Human comprehension becomes a reality?
  995.
  996. According to official letters held by the Hunter's Guild, Fatalis, which is said to appeared closest, was in the Schrade region about 1000 years ago. Murals of the tragedy brought about by its existence are left in various places around the region, and it's believed that Fatalis actually existed because it continues to be an ominous threat in oral legends of the Wyverians. A calamity that threatens all lives. The legend of the Black Dragon in fairy tales, the line sung in the nursery rhyme, "When the world is full of wyverns, The legend is revived", has been interpreted in various ways depending on the era. I wonder if the appearance of Fatalis this time was triggered by the existence of Safi'jiiva, a huge dragon called the Red Dragon.
  997.
  998. The existence of Fatalis is generally viewed as an illusion or creation. In fact, even within the Guild, only a few people believed in its existence.
  999.
1000. There's also a legend that says, "It was a black Elder Dragon with large horns and wings. Its appearance is unlike any other Elder Dragon we know of."
  1001.
1002. From the shape of the four toes on its hind legs, some speculate that it might be related to the Wyvern order, who have similar legs. Isn't that just too much of a leap?
  1003.
1004. After the battle, Fatalis is said to have lived in Castle Schrade. Did it sleep inside the castle, or was it lurking in caves in the surrounding mountains or underground? The actual situation hasn't been clarified. It's a bit unreasonable to think that it has been in a dormant state for about 1000 years, and we may not be able to measure it by Human standards. For some, it's more natural for it to think that it's only a slumber. In the first place, if it's a being that nests in the distortions of the world, it's no surprise that it transcends time and space.
  1005.
1006. Is its appearance inevitable? The eerie sky that spreads out in the rain makes the existence of Fatalis even more fantastical.
  1007.
1008. The wings on its back are shaped like bats. Its fine scales and skin wrinkles are noticeable, and the carapace is scarce. On the edge of the film, you can see its wrinkles that have entered like cracks.
  1009.
1010. Currently, the name Fatalis is used to refer to the Black Dragon. However, tracing back the linguistics reveals a broader meaning. It means "Battle of Destiny", and it's the story of a battle that puts all lives on the line between Kokoto and its other life. It's said that they called the phenomenon "Fatalis" for the series of events that occurred inside. For those of us who live in the present age, it gives the impression that it's a demon king who appears in fairy tales.
  1011.
1012. It's said that once upon a time, a gigantic Elder Dragon called Lao-Shan Lung was showing movements as if it was escaping from Fatalis. On the other hand, there are no stories of Fatalis overrunning other Monsters and it's currently known why it targeted Schrade Kingdom, which was built by Humans.
  1013.
1014. While using upright and half-belly postures, it begins to destroy enemies. Until it unleashes the first "Erasing Fire", it seems to be preserving its strength, and it mainly engages in hand-to-hand combat on the ground while mixing flame breaths. It wasn't even showing the slightest hint of a threat.
  1015.
1016. The appearance of crawling on four legs creates a situation where the Black Dragon's face is close at hand. Taking this as an opportunity, you may attempt to fire a Flinch Shot, but many Hunters clinging to its head were exposed to hellfire pouring out of its mouth.
  1017.
1018. When it perceives an enemy as a certain threat, it burns down the surrounding area with its "Erasing Fire." If one doesn't have cover, it can easily extinguish Humans.
  1019.
1020. An upright bipedal walking figure. The chest appears in front and the head is raised. Even in the final stage of full release, it can be seen spewing high-temperature flames at its feet, greatly increasing its combat power.
  1021.
1022. For Fatalis, the most threatening attack is the scorching breath called "Erasing Fire". It takes in a large amount of air into its extremely hot body, creates an explosive flame in its chest, and then releases it in a long breath. The rubble was burned to the ground, and even the thick protective walls were melted away. Unraveling the traditions and documents that suggested "burning everything down", comparing and scrutinizing the information, it was confirmed that this was not a metaphorical expression, but a fact.
  1023.
1024. For an enemy that survived the first "Erasing Fire", it hunts them down with more violent movements such as breaths from the air and attacks by gliding. Then, in the final stage, Fatalis releases the power that it was suppressing, and it begins to take full advantage of its violence. Its exhaled breath contains extremely high temperatures and burns pale. Many lives were miserably scattered in front of its breath, which wiped out everything in all directions from the state of crawling on its stomach.
  1025.
1026. Four large and small horns that undulate in distortion. It emits a mysterious charm that shines black and boasts tremendous strength. On the other hand, it's said that if you can destroy them, you can suppress the power of its breath.
  1027.
1028. In its final stage, it accumulates a large amount of heat throughout its body, increasing the destructive power of all attacks. Of course, if enraged, it would shrug with even more pressure and fear.
  1029.
1030. In Fatalis's body, no "Elder Dragon Blood" containing Dragon Element energy has been detected. It can be said that this is one of the reasons why it can't be lumped together with other Elder Dragon species.
  1031.
1032. Metal is baked onto the carapace on its chest, suggesting an unusually high body temperature. It's said that "the weapons gathered in its roost melted with body heat and adhered to the skin."
  1033.
1034. A Black Dragon whose name is left in legend as the threat that destroyed a country. What's the truth of history handed down as a legend? Where does it appear from, what kind of creature is it, and for what? It's hard for me to believe that it lives in Castle Schrade. I wonder if it transcends time and space and puts itself in a distortion. It's hard for me to believe it, but I've heard some outlandish rumours about someone suggesting a connection to another world somewhere in the desert. However, if a similar event were to occur in Schrade, the more I thought about it, the deeper my devotion would become. With the appearance of the Black Dragon, the world line where it was repelled from, and the possibility of creating a world line that couldn't be achieved... Assuming the existence of a parallel world that's different from historical facts, it makes sense to me that it's a fairy tale. I would also like to consider the reason why it's related to Humans. (From a memoir of a person who manages a certain letter)

1039. The ending content of "MHW" was centred on collaboration Monsters, so on the other hand, I was filled with regret that I couldn't end it with my own Monsters. Something like that remained. Then there was the flow of the 15th anniversary of the series, and when Fatalis was unveiled along with the new art, everyone was excited and said, "I'm definitely going to appear" (laughs). Based on those many requests, and the parts of MHW that weren't finished as MH, I decided to finally release Fatalis, which I made seriously.
  1040.
1041. In the past, the game was a series of large-scale exchanges, such as taking a position against gimmicks and big moves. However, I wanted to make Fatalis this time a Monster that would be appropriate for the conclusion of MHW, and that was firmly set in the action tempo of MHW. I wanted to make the final Monster a challenge, so the development of Castle Schrade was also included. In consideration of this, we made the game design linked to the map, such as adding a new escape method for the instant death breath.

Due to its gentle personality, it runs away with everyone when attacked by enemies. Although it has many large Monsters as natural enemies, it has long been seen to be attached to Humans and some Lynians, and lives together with them.
  1051.
1052. Popo live in small groups called herds, living mainly in snowy areas. When threatened by a Hunter, it tries to escape with all its might. At that time, it's at the escape destination. It seems that some people use these habits to lure out Large Monsters to target Popo. The habit of forming large herds while escaping has also been confirmed in Raphinos, which inhabits the Coral Highlands.
  1053.
1054. Popo head covered in hair. The nose extends to the lower jaw and the nasal cavity is open downward. Adult makes confront predators with their tusks, which grow wide, and create openings for females and offspring to escape.

  1070. Wulg
  1071.
1072. A small Fanged Wyvern species that inhabits the Hoarfrost Reach, the Guiding Lands (Tundra Region), and the Hinterlands. It stalks its prey relentlessly, and if it has a chance, it has the cunning to attack a higher-ranked opponent in a group. Searching for prey, it roams the ground with a scout group and a group lurking in he cave to guard their territory. At night, it can be seen coming out of its cave.
  1073.
1074. Wulg's coat is characterized by high heat retention. The claws growing on the thumbs of its front legs are "hidden claws" that dig into prey that are covered in thick fur. It's usually attached to the front ankle.
  1075.
1076. Wulg hunting doesn't let weak prey escape. Wulg also live in packs, with a group of about 3-to-5 animals. You can see the individual roles and order, and the formation of a solid community can be seen. Of particular note is the skillful hunting technique. Once targeted, one keeps a certain distance and stalks its prey. The rest of the Wulg pre-emptively hide in the snow and ambush. The tracker skillfully guides the prey to the hunting point. In the snow, the Wulgs rush out and attack them. Large Monsters with depleted physical strength are also targeted for attack, and after one of them clings to the prey and blocks movement, the other Wulgs jump at it. The investigators seem to given the tracker raw meat and shake it off.

Also, against Hunters, it will attack with breaths and gliding when it sees them, such as Status Ailments, Elements, and being blown away.
  1084.
1085. The ability to lower immunity is the first discovery in the New World. It must be a means of weakening prey with the cold and catching them with certainty.
  1086.
1087. Cortos that patrol a specific route in packs of 2 to 3 are carnivorous, swarming around raw meat, carcasses, and predation scars. While it's aggressive for a small Wingdrak, it has a cautious side where it stays in the air when prey is healthy, and attacks in groups when it sees weakness. The liquid that it vomits from its mouth contains a special ingredient, and it has been reported that it has the effect of lowering immunity against Elements.
