[21:09] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You return to your home. Your stuffed animals are in a slight disarray on the floor, as usual.
[21:10] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Suddenly, one of the stuffed animals seems to move around.
[21:10] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I inspect the apparently animated stuffed animal
[21:11] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The animal decided to stop in the middle of the room. Roll for perception please.

[21:12] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> ((17+2))

[21:14] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You start to notice a pattern. Your animals are floating up and one by one fly to the central pile, forming a HILL OF FLUFF. You observe that this can't be a natural phenomenon.
[21:15] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I look around to see if something is causing this.
[21:16] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You try really hard, but whatever is causing this seems to be invisible to your sight. You plushies are picked up unmolested, they rise slowly and clumsily, and fly towards the piles quite fast.
[21:16] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Whatever is causing this, it seems to be trying to pick up the stuffed boar in the corner.
[21:17] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I run to the boar and tackle it!
[21:17] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The reason behind the commotion seems to be imperfect - the boar is suddenly thrown through the wall before you can react
[21:18] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> A boar shaped hole is left in the wall.
[21:18] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I run over and inspect the hole
[21:20] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The hole in the wall has an almost comically perfect shape of a boar. Through it, you can see the the stuffed boar stuck in the berry bushes, bleeding the red sand you've used to fill him out.
[21:21]  * Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp] says, "Awwww, that boar took forever to make!"
[21:21] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I look back in my room to see if any more supernatural shenanigans are taking place.
[21:22] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You notice a sword laying casually on top of the HILL OF FLUFF. It tops it quite well.
[21:23] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I run over and look at the sword.
[21:26] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The sword is a traditional japanese Katana. Its not decorated nor seems to be magical. I has HODORABLE engraved on it  - no wait, its Honorable, someone put a smudge on the engraving.
[21:26] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> Odd. I captchalogue the sword.
[21:28] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> ((in case you forgot, I use a buddy-modus, which gives the items a name I must say in order to retrieve them))

[21:29] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I make an mildly disdisgusted expression in reaction to the swords nickname.

[21:31] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I then survey the scene in my room, wary for more tomfoolery.
[21:32] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> For some reason, your warderobe creaks open, revealing your old clothes.
[21:33] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> Beginning to feel weirded out, I walk over to my wardrobe and peer inside.
[21:35] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Your old alternian clothes are a bit shuffled. Its almost like someone wanted to take a look at them. For reasons unknown. Through the eyes unknown.
[21:37] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I carefully shut the door to my wardrobe, and begin to wonder if this is being done by real spirits.
[21:37] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You start to feel a bit weirded out... observed, maybe?
[21:37] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I glance around to see if I can see anything.
[21:38]  * Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp] whispers to herself "there's no way it's real spirits. Right?
[21:40] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You successfully reassure yourself. You were the only spirit around. Although you're no expert in spirits - the shrine maiden is.
[21:42] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> Happy at my success in self-reassurance, I walk outside.
[21:43] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Suddenly, a strange device appears by your bed. It looks a bit like a desk - although you haven't seen desks so narrow and without any writing materials. It has a strange array of square things with strange symbols on them on top.
[21:44] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> Startled by the device's sudden appearance, I slowly creep over to the device.

[21:47] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> After examining the device I reflect that I appear to be losing my mind.
[21:48] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Although its alien nature is strange indeed, it seems to serve a purpose - a slit to the left, symbol-emblazioned device on the right, and a two lights - red and green. It could accept somthing? Do something on something? You can't fully get it.
[21:49] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Your HILL OF FLUFF moved to the side. Some stragglers are left behind.
[21:50] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I'm distracted from the device and run over to assess damages to my stuffies, both in the HILL OF FLUFF and out
[21:51] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The HILL was moved by some of the wider stuffed animals on the bottom of the pile, so most of the animals are still piled up. Some of the smaller SEA BUNNIES and SEA GRASSHOPPERS were left behind in the middle of the room.
[21:52] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The bunnies and grasshoppers are flung towards the bed by the same force that moves stuff around your house.
[21:53] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I capthalogue the HILL (if possible) and glare wildly around in an attempt to find the villain molesting my stuffies.
[21:53] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Suddenly, the ground shakes as another device appearifies in the middle of the room, where the HILL OF FLUFF was a while ago.
[21:54] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I inspect this device in my ever increasing confusion.
[21:56] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> A card falls to the ground as you face the strange device. It has a square base, and a circular platform on it. A smaller pedestal with strange metallic tubes next to it is located in the corner of the device.
[21:56] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I pick up the card and look at it.
[21:59] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Its a PREPUNCHED CAPTCHALOGUE CARD of what looks like a flute.
[21:59] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Its prepunched, and thus it can't be used.
[22:00] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I just kind of stand there looking around in confusion at the havoc occurring around me.
[22:04] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You think that if you could focus, you could possibly figure it out... Roll for INT.

[22:06] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> No, it still doesn't make sense. Some force that you can't see is just sitting out there, playing with your home, putting this stuff in. And you can't even figure out if they're mocking you or playing with you. Or guiding you.
[22:07] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> A plump of dirt being picked up and dropped behind you grabs your attention. it was pointed towards the door.
[22:07] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I walk out the door to the outside and look around.
[22:10] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The woods outside are cold. The sun sets on the horizon. And the woods are awfully quiet.
[22:11] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You can hear your house shaking as yet another strange machine has deployed.
[22:11] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I jump in shock and run back inside.
[22:12] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> No apparent damage was done - the device is situated where your HILL OF FLUFF was before you captchalogued it.
[22:13] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I inspect this new device.
[22:13] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Now that you look at it, the devices look like a set of mechanical devices, somehow related together.
[22:13] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I look at them together and try to glean some clue as to what they do.
[22:15] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The newest device looks like a narrow worktable, with circular clamps on the sides of the lower bench, and a with a slot on the high part of it. Its an extremely complicated mechanism, with what looks like an arm overhanging the bench.
[22:15] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Thinking about it, the connection starts to clear up...
[22:16] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The first, desk with the slot and rectangular symbols, does something to what possibly is cards.
[22:17] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Then, the benched machinery accepts a card - and does something to a cylinder shaped medium.
[22:18] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Then, the processed cylinder is placed on the pedestal of the platform-machine. To do things unknown.
[22:19] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> Pleased at this epiphany I look around, and realize I'm lacking a cylinder shaped medium.
[22:19] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You can see the system behind them. Yet something is missing - the cylinder medium. Or its source, perhaps.
[22:20] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I look around to see if I can find it, while listening for the crash of a new device's arrival.
[22:22] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Minutes pass. The device is nowhere to be seen or heard.
[22:23] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I stomp my foot at the apparent lack of competency being displayed by the mysterious being messing with me.
[22:24] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I then walk back outside.
[22:24] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> Sighing over theatrically
[22:25] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You start to feel uncomfortable. This strange puzzle - it feels important, if not imposed, and you can't even talk to the thing that controls this puzzle.
[22:26] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I ponder the viability of sending a super-sonic pigeon or whatever it is we use to communicate.
[22:30] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You communicate through the power of Tengu magic. You speak to the wind, and it carries the messages. You can speak to whoever you feel like.
[22:30] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> *carries the messages and delivers them in text
[22:30] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The sun is dying out. The forest is still quiet.
[22:31] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I attempt to communicate to the being currently messing with me, "Hey! Where's the cyl1nder th1ng!?"
[22:33] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You speak, and the wind carries your words - it soon returns a short message on a piece of paper:
[22:33] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "404: recipent not found. Sad Ayaa is Sad."
[22:33] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I make this expression >___<
[22:35] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I then head back inside and stick the PREPUNCHED CARD into the benched machine
[22:37] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> From the hanging arm, a set of blades extends.
[22:38] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I look around and see if anything else happened.
[22:38] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> No, it looks like just this device was affected.
[22:39] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I accept the fact that nothing else seems likely to happen and leave my bedroom to go to the main shrine.
[22:41] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The shrine is not too far - although when you reach the place, its already night.
[22:42] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I look around to see if whatever force was messing with my room has done anything here.
[22:43] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The city has quieted down. Only few lights remain - few houses, the gates with the guards, and the shrine.
[22:43] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The shrine beacons. It feels like home calling for you.
[22:43] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> And besides, its the safest point of entry - nobody known about the rear entrance to the shrine.
[22:44] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I enter the shrine from the rear.
[22:47] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You swiftly enter the shrine from the riverside. You dry yourself and notice that the shrine maiden is in the entrance room, seemingly meeting someone.
[22:47] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I sneak to a place where I can watch them hidden, and try to see what's going on.
[22:50] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You decide that this requires a stealthy investiagtion - you aren't dressed to just politely listen. You find a thin wall with no lights behind you - no shadow on the wall. A very good stealth technique indeed.
[22:50] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You start to listen in on the conversation:
[22:54] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "... my dear - Kaltes - am I right? You search for the truth, but what is there to know? Who you are? You are what other's consider a spirit. A being beyond their comprehension, and a way to explain their weaknesses"
[22:55] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The other person - a girl - stumbles in disbelief.
[22:55] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I think to myself "Kaltes? What's she d<>1ng here?"
[22:56] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "You see, all humans are weak. All of them need spirits. And if you ever lived near humans, you know that money is created by the desire of man."
[22:57] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I feel increasing confusion.
[22:58] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Kaltes questions the connection between trolls and money. For the first time ever, she doesn't sound excited.
[22:59] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I try to sneak a look at them.
[23:01] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "Trolls is the name of your species? I'll be honest, it didn't matter that much to us when we were striking the deal with our good Doctor. Demand and supply, my dear. He wanted you gone. We needed a thing like you."

[23:03] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> Who's the doctor? Why is Kaltes talking to the shrine maiden? Why does the shrine maiden know about trolls?
[23:03] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> Questions like these buzz around in my head
[23:04] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "Our guild had the best idea to keep us relevant after the sealing of Gensokyo. Glorify strange things. Find weird people and call them spirits. Build temples for them and accept donations. Offer blessings for benefits."
[23:05] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Kaltes just can't believe her words - she starts to get mad at the concept of using trolls to earn money.
[23:05] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> That would explain why it was so easy to become a spirit, but still this is all so weird, I thought the Shrine maiden was nice.
[23:07] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "My dear, its simply our world. Now, you'll listen to me - you could make a great spirit of the forest. We could build you a nice shrine here once your village burns down to the ground in the upcoming raid. This will be the safest way, believe me. Nobody dares to cross the shrine maidens who protect their cities devoted to the spirits."
[23:08] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "You'll stay here forever. And you will bring us great fortune."
[23:09] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> "The v1llage 1s g<>1ng t<> burn t<> the gr<>und!?!"
[23:09] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I'm so shocked I say that out loud
[23:10] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I clap my hand over my mouth and hope they didn't hear.
[23:11] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Through the wall a strong beam of light shines, blinding you for a second there. You can only hear Kaltes screaming in anger and lunging herself towards your wall, and the sound of flesh being stabbed.
[23:11] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> A strange noise occurs, and the light fades.
[23:11] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I run out from behind the wall and look at what happened
[23:13] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You run into the room, panicked and confused, just to see the shrine maiden standing up in the middle of the room. It looks like her dress is torn in the chest area, but there is no wound.
[23:14] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> Some dust still sparkles in the air.
[23:14] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> "What happened?!?"
[23:17] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The shrine maiden mumbles to herself "What a shame" before turning towards you. "Ah, my dear Ezra. Why are you here? It is not yet time to accept any guests, let alone rude ones like the one we had a moment ago."
[23:17] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> "Where'd Kaltes g<>!? 1 heard her here just a m<>ment ag<>!"
[23:20] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "She seemed to have used some sort of a trick to wound me, yet leave no trace of her weapon. A truly unfair maneuver. Although I presume and explanation is in order."
[23:20] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> "1 agree!" I say, crossing my arms.
[23:24] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "As you might have heard. we claimed you from the hands of a quite eccentric fellow named Doctor Scratch. He appeared in the building of our guild sometime after we sealed up Gensokyo for good. He gave us an offer we COULD refuse. But then, one of us, our leader, had a great plan and even greater heart."
[23:26] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> "What was the plan?
[23:27] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "The Doctor said that few members of your race had to either die in their doomed world, be be sent here to make space for the event he was named after. He explained that they are extremely different from us and would be considered otherwordly for commoners."
[23:28] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "He asked if we agree for the transfer, as "we had the power to stop him". Reimu agreed. She would build shrines and upkeep the magic of our land."
[23:29] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "And that was what happened - numerous trolls were moved into our country. We cooperated with them, granted them safety, and gave them a purpose."
[23:30] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> "S<> y<>u knew? That 1 was a tr<>ll?"
[23:31] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> "And that there were <>thers, l1ke me, <>ut there?"

[23:32] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> "Yes. And you were a royal blood, even. That's why I've kept you here. That's why I kept you safe. You're more important to your people than your know."

[23:43] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> She became imposing, if not fear-inducing. It doesn't look like you can discuss this one...

[23:44] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I begin to leave the shrine and go back to my bedroom
[23:45] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> You leave the shrine, keeping your tears in up until you're out of range of hearing.
[23:46] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> I run back to my room sobbing and worrying about Kaltes.
[23:48] <Ezra_Rabbit[Vamp]> ((hey wanna call it a night? I Gotta eat dinner.))
[23:48] <Tokamak_The_DM_Clone> The whole situation is sickening. Your friend, Kaltes, disappears after confronting the shrine maiden, but not before uncovering the catastrophe of your race and the con behind the shrines. You yourself are flooded with the knowledge of your lineage, the past, the Doctor Scratch, and the shrine maidens.
