  1. [GRIMOIRE ADVENT]
  2. December 10, 20XX, an unidentified object made collision with the planet. Although damage is reported as minimal, the object has been speculated to be unstable, and several military and research groups have been moved into the area until further notice to study the anomaly. Borders to the area have been closed due to the appearance of the mysterious object, and as such, many riots have begun and the civilian sectors have fallen into chaos. Additionally, several labs believed to have relations to an underground research group, ORACLE, have been uncovered in the area, and mutated individuals have escaped, spreading what is being referred to as ‘decay’. Such individuals are to be avoided at all costs and are considered highly dangerous. Civilians in the area are instructed to stay indoors, and avoid contact with potential threats within the area.

  6. [Grimoire Advent Builder] features two types of rolls. Action Rolls and Research Rolls. Action rolls are simple succeed or fails, with varying degrees of bonus (walking, speaking to others, interacting with an item). Research rolls are numerical, and used in learning new skills or creating new equipment. Additionally, some rolls are considered “simple rolls” and are almost always successes (movement).

  8. Action Roll Results:
  9. 1 - Critical Failure - Something terrible happens. Your action fails with additional debuffs or consequences much greater than what you would see in a Major Failure.
  10. 2-10 - Major Failure - Your action fails, and an additional
  11. 11-25 - Medium Failure - You fail your action.
  12. 26-40 - Minor Failure - Your action succeeds, however a consequence also occurs.
  13. 41-59 - Neutral Result/ DM Discretion - Something happens. Not necessarily good, not necessarily bad. Sometimes it may become a minor failure or success depending on the action rolled for and/or GM discretion.
  14. 60-75 - Minor Success - You succeed your action.
  15. 76-90 - Medium Success - Your action succeeds, with the possibility of other positive things happening.
  16. 91-99 - Major Success - Your action succeeds with a positive outcome as well as additional bonuses and results.
  17. 100 - Critical Success - Something amazing happens. You succeed in your action with this in addition to much greater bonuses or positive results than a Major Success.

  19. Research Roll Results:
  20. 1 - Critical Failure - Lose all progress on current research rolled for, and other research in progress may decrease as well.
  21. 2-10 - Major Failure - -5 progress on current research. Other research may slightly decrease.
  22. 11-25 - Medium Failure - -3 progress on current research.
  23. 26-40 - Minor Failure - -1 progress on current research.
  24. 41-59 - DM Discretion - Circumstantial. -1 or +1 towards progress. There may also be no change in research.
  25. 60-75 - Minor Success - +1 progress on current research.
  26. 76-90 - Medium Success - +3 progress on current research.
  27. 91-99 - Major Success - +5 progress on current research. Other research may slightly increase in progress.
  28. 100 - Critical Success - Instant completion of current research. Additional research in progress may also gain a slight bonus.
