  2. [22:04] <Gamesmaster> It is 05:15 hours, 5th October, 3067. The Claws of Vengeance gains ground on the stationary dropship, as it manuevers to put itself within range of a shuttle launch. Identified as belonging to Clan Jade Wolf, and targetted for retrieval, regaining control has been designated a top priority. Summoned to the hangar bay, the Cadets have made their own ways towards the aerospace bay, whilst 'acquiring' numerous objects on the way.
  3. [22:06] <Gamesmaster> Meanwhile, in the medical bay, Ridian is rousing from his dreams of space aerobatics and infuriating targetting computers. Slowly, his eyes open to the stark, illuminating lights of the dull grey plasteel ceiling. He can hear the sounds of someone nearby as he slowly feels awareness of his body returning. He has a horrific headache
  4. [22:08] <Ridian> Ahh, *muttering* what in the.....hell?
  5. [22:08] * Ridian looks around the room (see anything interesting?)
  6. [22:09] <Gamesmaster> Ridian sees not alot, his vision remains blurry. But he can see what looks like slabs, probably for patients, covered in fabric. Colours and lightso n the far wall indicate computers, and there appears to be a human shaped figure hunched over one of them*
  7. [22:10] * Ridian yells at the guy on the computer
  8. [22:10] <Ridian> Hey, uhh, why am I in the med bay? Actually, better question, where the hell is this med bay
  9. [22:12] <Gamesmaster> *The figure turns around, and slowly replies* "Ah you are awake. That is.. most surprising, considering the crash your system underwent from fatigue and stimulant withdrawal"
  10. [22:13] <Gamesmaster> "You are in the medbay due to injuries sustained from prolonged combat. Nothing major, it was a side affect of your.. medication. You are onboard the dropship, and we in a combat readiness state"
  11. [22:13] <Ridian> Yes, well I have experience, so what say you chuck me a stim and I will get back to work....wait combat ready?
  12. [22:16] <Gamesmaster> "I am afraid that giving you anymore stimulants is out of the question. I have recommended to Team Leader Dierson that you do not go back into combat reliant on them. They are for emergencies, not general use, and I have detected a heavy dependance within your system. I cannot say for how long you have been taking these at high levels.. "
  13. [22:17] <Gamesmaster> "Yes we are back at combat readiness. I believe the Captain said we are engaging an enemy jumpship. Think it is a boarding action."
  14. [22:19] <Gamesmaster> "You have been out for several hours, so i would take your time to get adjusted. Im quite happy to answer any questions you might have. They are expecting you in the hangar bay as soon as possible, as they require everyone they can get their hands on for deployment. Dierson was most specific"
  15. [22:19] <Ridian> I would not say I have become dependant on them, only that they give me an edge. I would recommend that if you wish me to be combat ready for this rapdily approaching engagement you speak ofd to chuck me a stim so I can get on with my work
  16. [22:23] <Gamesmaster> "As Doctor, to do so would be going against my best knowledge. Whilst I cannot contradict orders from a warrior, I also cannot willingly give you stimulants that are likely to do you bodily damage. You need to take it easy, if you dont wish to risk passing out on operation."
  17. [22:26] <Ridian> Well, Personally, I think your sending a warrior off to death if your sending him off to fight in what you consider to be a dependant, weaked condition but I guess we dont have time to talk about it
  18. [22:27] * Ridian ridian tries to get out of the bed
  19. [22:28] <Gamesmaster> *Although he finds is difficult and disorientating, Ridian manages it. It feels like whatever the doctor has done has definetly helped. BUt damn, that headache throbs*
  20. [22:28] * Ridian holds head
  21. [22:28] <Gamesmaster> "Dependent and weakened yes, but at least level headed and not at risk of unconciousness"
  22. [22:29] <Ridian> Damn....tell you what, give me something for my headache, and I wont try to cave your skull in out of a want to share the pain
  23. [22:30] <Gamesmaster> *The doctor tilts his head slightly* "Always with the threats of violence, from the warrior caste. Let me see what i have available" he answers, then turns back to his computer screen
  24. [22:31] * Ridian looks through semi clenched eyes at the room
  25. [22:32] <Gamesmaster> *RIdian can see a few medical supplies lying around, but otherwise it a rather tidy, deserted and very clan like, spartan room*
  26. [22:35] <Gamesmaster> *he turns back to ridian* I can give you some very simple injectors, of modified SMax, that should be able to keep you relatively clear headed. It's a sedative however, and it might have side affects if you are not careful with the amount you inject. The upside is it is immediate"
  27. [22:36] <Gamesmaster> "It will affect your performance, so it is up to you. I recommend you take it on site, once you hit the ground, and not before"
  28. [22:36] <Gamesmaster> "It is long lasting, and if timed correctly, it should be fine"
  29. [22:36] <Ridian> Sure, whatever, just give them here so I can get going and get yelled at for holding up the rest of the happy campers
  30. [22:39] <Gamesmaster> *The doctor gets up and heads to several cabinets, and takes out several clear microinjectors, filled with an aqua coloured liquid. He looks at them, to ridian, back to the injectors, before seemingly somewhat grudgingly handing them over*
  31. [22:39] * Ridian takes and stores
  32. [22:40] <Ridian> I think we will pick this..little debate back up once I get back
  33. [22:40] <Gamesmaster> "These are quicker acting than codeine or any other thing we have available, as they are for combat use. Please remember that. Now, if i was you, id head off. Team Leader Dierson seemed already less than impressed"
  34. [22:40] * Ridian heads off
  35. [22:44] <Gamesmaster> *with a slight shake of his head, CMO Bohdan turns back to thie monitors with a shake of his head. He'd definetly be seeing that one again*
  36. [22:46] <Gamesmaster> It is not long before Ridian nears the aerospace hangar. The twisting corridors of the union dropship, and its impressive size from the outside, seem insignificant to Ridian as he quickly snakes his way towards his destination, avoiding all the crewmen which do their best to get out of his way. He soon reaches the access pod, and opens it, to see a small hangar contained two small transport aerospace craft. Equipment is everyone in crates and boxes, and he can see the other cadets already assembled in a

  38. [22:48] <Ridian> Ridian reporting, whats the haps
  39. [22:49] * Ridian makes a vague attempt at a salute
  40. [22:49] <^Stephan^> Recovered already?
  41. [22:49] * Jacob_Dorn cringes alittle
  42. [22:49] <^Stephan^> intriguing
  43. [22:49] <Ridian> If you call almost cripploing headaches recovery then yeah I just ever so wonderful and peachy
  44. [22:50] <^Stephan^> See that is does not interfere with our boarding activities.
  45. [22:50] <Jacob_Dorn> Deal with it, I smashed my head against the cockpit of my mech when an enemy target had a catastrophic engine failiure.

  47. [22:51] <Gamesmaster> *The bulk of Team Leader Dierson and the Command group is visible in discussiong, over by one of the aerospace transports. It appears the briefing has not yet begun in earnest*

  49. [22:52] <^Stephan^> Good that you are warming up for upcoming battle, Dorn.
  50. [22:52] <Ridian> All I know is that I have a sever lack of juice in me right now and I would consider this grounds that we get on the damn way

  53. [22:55] <Gamesmaster> *The conversation apparently over, Dierson glances over and sees that Ridian has returned*
  54. [22:55] <Gamesmaster> *He walks over, and states flatly* "Are you recovered?"
  55. [22:57] <Ridian> Oh I would say so....enough that I can fire stright which I imagine is all your asking
  56. [22:59] <Gamesmaster> "A simple aff or neg is prefered. We are short on time, and it is the only thing holding me back from making mention of your lapse which caused us to drop below strength whilst engaged on mission."
  57. [23:00] <Gamesmaster> "I cannot afford to deploy anyone who is going to risk the success of the claws"
  58. [23:00] <Gamesmaster> "So i ask again, are you ready for deployment, quiaff?"
  59. [23:01] * Ridian roles eyes

  61. [23:06] <Gamesmaster> "Good" Dierson replies flatly.
  62. [23:08] <Gamesmaster> "The command team have a requested that the mission be modified to suit our new plan of execution"
  63. [23:09] <Gamesmaster> *Dierson states to the whole assembled claws*
  64. [23:10] * Jacob_Dorn listens
  65. [23:11] <Gamesmaster> "As such, I have recommended elements from Claws Three and Two that fit the new mission parameters. Ridian, Dorn, Linus, Stephan, you are to operate as the first strike team, with the remaining elements of Claws Two will operate as strike team two. Strike team two will be lead by myself, and as explained by the Star Captain in the briefing, our roles are already defined"

  67. [23:14] <Gamesmaster> "Strike Team One will be led by Cadet Dorn" Dierson states flatly. You see a hint of emotion in the way he phrases it, and he looks directly at Stephan as he delivers the news
  68. [23:15] * ^Stephan^ makes a face like he tasted something very sour
  69. [23:15] <^Stephan^> Why him?
  70. [23:16] <^Stephan^> As a truebborn ; believe I would be better suited to lead a group of freeborths!
  71. [23:16] <Jacob_Dorn> I shall endeavour to be an inspiring example.

  73. [23:18] <Ridian> A free birth am I stephan? I think perhap you may want to check your facts, I can even probably find you my test tube number if that would make you feel better
  74. [23:19] <Jacob_Dorn> Moving on from petty squables.. What equipment have we been allocated?
  75. [23:19] <Gamesmaster> "As a trueborn, with a bloodname and two combat tours, I believe Dorn is more suited to lead the mission. Success is my priority." Dierson answers
  76. [23:21] <^Stephan^> You have a medical condidon - a huge headache and aparently a tendecy to randomly pass out. I believe you are not suited for leading.

  83. [23:22] <Gamesmaster> "The selection is made, this conversation is irrelevent. If you wish to contest my decision, I will gladly settle it within a circle of equals upon your return"
  84. [23:23] <Ridian> Dont forget the beef Dorn, cant have a good lunch out it
  85. [23:23] <Gamesmaster> "I believe that you are unfit to be a part of this unit, nevermind this operation, but I am forced to use all tools at my disposal" Dierson continues, looking at Stephan

  88. [23:24] <Jacob_Dorn> Beef is non-exsistant in the ass end of humanity... Unfortunately.

  96. [23:27] <Jacob_Dorn> Good, so now that we have seens who can piss the most height we can see what equipment is avalible.

  98. [23:27] <Gamesmaster> "Your objection is noted." he answers, again trying to obviously supress some other deep seated emotion.
  99. [23:29] <Gamesmaster> "Neg, I have only come to announce the strike team changes. the Star Captain will brief you when he is finished discussing the command teams plans with Zenobia. Our equipment has been provided" Dierson continues
  100. [23:30] <Gamesmaster> "On the racks behind you, you will find several weapons, combat space suits, and smoke grenades. We have one mechanical toolkit for breaching, which will be given to your strike team"
  101. [23:31] * ^Stephan^ takes a look at the equipment.
  102. [23:32] * ^Stephan^ 's eyes shine as he sees the combat shotgun
  103. [23:33] * ^Stephan^ tkaes the combat shotgin at glancesit to see if it's tuned correctly
  104. [23:34] <Gamesmaster> "While this is not entirely adequate it is what is assigned. Sending mechwarriors on such a mission is desperate" Dierson continues
  105. [23:34] * ^Stephan^ also takes a space suit and a green smoke
  106. [23:35] * ^Stephan^ also grabs the stim packs
  107. [23:35] <^Stephan^> who can carry the most?
  108. [23:36] * Ridian picks up cutting tool
  109. [23:37] <^Stephan^> Very well, ridinan will carry it.
  110. [23:37] <Jacob_Dorn> Hard to say.

  112. [23:37] * Ridian smiles slightly
  113. [23:38] <^Stephan^> I believe that was the intentiobn of bringin it with us.

  116. [23:38] <Gamesmaster> *Dierson turns away without comment to get back to discussion operations with the rest of the claws*
  117. [23:42] <Gamesmaster> *Suddenly, you hear the raised voice of Star Captain DeVega* "Listen up Cadets, I have just received word we are in the operational area, masking our position"*
  118. [23:42] <Jacob_Dorn> ooooh more Smoke spitters.
  119. [23:43] * Jacob_Dorn shuts up and stands semi at atention
  120. [23:44] * Ridian suits up
  121. [23:44] * ^Stephan^ stands at attention
  122. [23:47] <Gamesmaster> *he continues "The original plan stands. Claw One will accompany the main strike team, breach the ship from the docking clamps, and then will make its way sweeping thorugh the personnel quarters towards the bridge section. The main strike team, consisting of Dierson and the majority of Claw Two, will head to the engineering bay, disable the engines, then meet us to assault the bridge."
  123. [23:48] <Gamesmaster> "Both of these teams will take the first aerospace transport. The third team, led by Cadet Dorn is the new element in the plan"
  124. [23:49] <Gamesmaster> "Cadet Dorns team will use the small aerospace transport, and land directly on the exterior hull of the Jumpship. They will be the first in"
  125. [23:50] <Gamesmaster> "They will cut their way in, and set about disabling internal and external communications, and life support, temporarily. This will hopefully draw off any security teams in their direction, allowing for the main assault to go mostly uncontested"
  126. [23:51] * Jacob_Dorn cant help but fell like a spess mahreen putting on the suit however resits the urge to shout battle Brothers!
  127. [23:51] * ^Stephan^ to himsalf "I can see why Dorn was chosen"
  128. [23:52] <Jacob_Dorn> The fun part.
  129. [23:54] <Jacob_Dorn> If only we had multiple and simultaneous devastating defensive deep strikes…
  130. [23:54] <Gamesmaster> "Cadet Dorn" he continues "Do you understand? If you are unable to complete this objective, any distraction you are capable of causing will be welcomed. After you are successful, you are to slip away and rejoin claw two at our rendevous point before we assault the bridge"

  132. [23:57] <Gamesmaster> "It is unlikely we will meet stiff resistance, but even so, the potential for the operation to go badly exists if all elements do not act cohesively. You all demonstrated you are capable down on the moons surface. Demonstrate you are capable here, and you will be on your way to proving you have what it takes to survive your blooding trial to the end"
  133. [23:58] <Gamesmaster> "Do not disappoint me. Board immediately, the pilots have already prepped the transports for launch"

  135. [23:59] * Ridian WALKS ONTO SMALL TRANSPORT
  136. [23:59] <Gamesmaster> "We are go as soon as the Captain gives the all clear"
  137. [00:00] * ^Stephan^ boards the correct transport
  138. [00:00] * Jacob_Dorn takes a deep breath before boarding the transport
  139. [00:00] <Gamesmaster> *With that, he turns away and opens the larger aerospace tranports doors. Hefting an assault rifle, Zenobia and the remaining command lance follows without a word*
  140. [00:01] <Gamesmaster> *Dierson looks at the departing Stephan, Dorn and Ridian, and mutters something under his breath, before beckoning the rest of the claws into the larger transport*
  141. [00:02] <Gamesmaster> *Even as Jacob, Stephan, Ridian and Linus board the smaller transport, the cramped conditions become apparent. Whatever this transport was originally designed for, it probably wasn't combat missions. Over the intercom, the voice of the pilot echos out "Everyone set? We are expecting a solution to be fixed within the next few minutes. I am waiting on the all clear, all systems are nominal"

  148. [00:06] <Gamesmaster> *From intercom* "I have the all clear. Preparing for atmospheric equalisaiton and spooling the engines"
  149. [00:06] * Jacob_Dorn takes out his pda and sivs through its data, he looks at a picture of a robust looking Female clan Warrior, he then tryes to find out Clan Jump ship scematics for a lay out to pull up a brief plan
  150. [00:08] <Jacob_Dorn> I pray that you have engineering exprience yes?

  152. [00:09] * Jacob_Dorn adressing the whole squad

  159. [00:10] <Jacob_Dorn> We are in a Aerospace and the thing we are about to attack and piss of is a gigantus maximus of aerospace so tha is good enough

  162. [00:12] <Ridian> Great and when we have the oh so possible mission where we have to munt giant gauss dick beams to out mechs im sure we will give you a call

  164. [00:13] <Gamesmaster> *The sound of the engines spooling up becomes loud, and the feeling of weight returns slightly to your bodies as you are pressed into your seats from an acceleration*
  165. [00:13] <Jacob_Dorn> Cut life support that will really hamper things, however if will give them a chance to get off comms to whoever or what ever may be in range.
  166. [00:13] <Gamesmaster> *Doors are opened, and we are moving out. In the pipe, five by five*
  167. [00:14] <Ridian> Thats what we want
  168. [00:14] <Ridian> we want them to comms for an attack
  169. [00:14] <Ridian> atleast to draw attention
  170. [00:14] <Ridian> then we cut them
  171. [00:14] <Ridian> ghet them scared and send them to life supoort to try and sort it out while we have already fucked off
  172. [00:16] * Jacob_Dorn takes a deep breath and nods

  174. [00:17] <Ridian> I imagine if you cut life support, they would noice...pretty quickly
  175. [00:18] * Jacob_Dorn tries to remember his time abord the Jumpship trip to Borea for teh layout of where lifesupport was or general area.
  176. [00:28] <Jacob_Dorn> Comms can be hard to find.... however LS is seperated per deck with the conduits converging on.......... near teh entrance of engeneering.

  178. [00:30] <Ridian> Well, thats were we could start
  179. [00:30] <Ridian> The move onto the comms
  180. [00:30] <Jacob_Dorn> External com-relays may be tamperd with.

  183. [00:33] <Gamesmaster> *I have eyes on the dropship. Patching through the scanner output now to the monitors. I will sweep us over the top, and pop the exit hatch. Helmets on and oxygen checks boys*
  184. [00:33] * Ridian puts helmet on and checks o2 levels
  185. [00:34] <Gamesmaster> *The meter reads O2 FEED ACTIVE: 99%*
  186. [00:34] * Jacob_Dorn fixes his helmet on tight and seals the suit checking the status
  187. [00:34] * LinusSvenssen runs through the checks and pressurises his suit
  188. [00:35] <Gamesmaster> *Jumpship even.* he continues *It has not scanned us, no weapons lock or anything. Looks like we have gotten the jump on them. *
  189. [00:35] <Jacob_Dorn> *Then we best be quick*
  190. [00:36] <Gamesmaster> *Point One is reporting they are standing by for my clear to approach. Ill signal them as soon as you are active. Slowing to 3 m/s, opening boarding doors, prepare for exit*
  191. [00:37] <Gamesmaster> *The decelleration is rapid, and the gs intensify. Suddenly they seem to stop, and the cadets feel almost entirely weightless. The airlock doors hiss open in unison, the safetys overidden to allow for a quick exit*
  192. [00:37] <Gamesmaster> *Outside all that can be seen is a field of stars*
  193. [00:38] <Gamesmaster> *An intense glare filters in, bouncing off the rims of the airlock - blinding, if it were not for the optical filters installed into the space suits*
  194. [00:38] <Jacob_Dorn> *And so we swim through this mighty star ocean...*
  195. [00:39] <Gamesmaster> *"Switched to local. In position get going, im signalling point one"*
  196. [00:39] <Ridian> like instellar whales, stop waxing lyrical and lets get this float boat sailing
  197. [00:39] <Gamesmaster> *"Seyla"* he replies
  198. [00:39] <Gamesmaster> *\\ states
  199. [00:39] * ^Stephan^ engages his grav boots ,gets up and walks to the edge ot the transport
  200. [00:40] * Ridian pushes out of the airlock but keeps a hand holding the door turning his grav boots on
  201. [00:40] * ^Stephan^ looks around so he cna jump towards the jumpship
  202. [00:41] <Gamesmaster> *Stephan look sout to see the hull of the dropship below him. The hull is going past slowly, the aerospace transport maintaining some forward velocity*
  203. [00:41] * Jacob_Dorn disembarks teh flying bucket activateing the boots on his suit so not to fly away into the void
  204. [00:42] * ^Stephan^ disengages his gravboots and "jumps" toward he jumpship preparing ot teengage hen as he hits hte hull
  205. [00:42] * Ridian putting my body in the direction of teh drop ship, I push off towards it after turning the boots off and back on once I float closely enough
  206. [00:43] * Jacob_Dorn ?"What the fuck was I thinking!"?
  207. [00:44] * LinusSvenssen follows behind Dorn, pausing to steady himself at the exit hatch
  208. [00:45] * LinusSvenssen pushes off into the void...
  209. [00:46] * LinusSvenssen (in the general direction of the dropship...)
  210. [00:47] * ^Stephan^ funds all this 0g drifting in space awesome
  211. [00:47] <Gamesmaster> *Stephan is the first to reach the dropship. Dropping his feet to the hull, he forgets momentarily to activate his grav boots. He bounces several feet forwards before collapsing clumsily on his hands and knees, and gets ahold of the hull. Behind him ,Ridian lands solidly, activating his boots and sticking solidly to the surface*
  212. [00:48] <Gamesmaster> *//jumpship, because the GM is typing in a freeborth manner
  213. [00:49] * ^Stephan^ as the reality hits him, he reengages the grav boots and stands up, hten he chackes for damage on his spess suit

  270. [01:21] <Gamesmaster> *Linus quickly finds an access panel. It looks electronic, level operated. Ridian, with a quick scan, deduces that the airlock does not look like it is under surveillance*

  300. [01:36] <Gamesmaster> *The airlock cycles open, and the atmosphere is vented out. It slides open into a standard interior airlock chamber*

  302. [01:36] * Jacob_Dorn draws his SMG and prepairs to bored the ship using the airlock
  303. [01:36] <Gamesmaster> *A red glow illuminates the smooth sides, and you see emergency suits hanging like mannequins at the sides*

  308. [01:39] * Ridian pulls the pin on the smoke grenade just before the internal door into the ship opens and rolls the smoke grenade into the corridor
  309. [01:40] <Gamesmaster> *The airlock hums and begins to slow autocycle. You here a dull intake of air through your helmets, muffled by the insulation, and slowly, the interior door opens onto a darkened corridor, that looks like it would take single file to squeeze along it. Comparing it with the cramped airlock, the cadets summise it is a maintainance shaft. The faint alert tone of the airlock cuts out abruptly. Ridians smoke grenades goes off with a faint bang*
  310. [01:40] <Gamesmaster> *The corridor is soon full of smoke, but they basic sensors on the combat space suits outline the structure adequately, if not piercing completely though the smoke. They read as calibrating*
  311. [01:41] * Ridian moves forward checking for doors and entrances

  313. [01:42] * Jacob_Dorn cautiosly follows keeping an eye out for any markers indicating location.
  314. [01:43] <Gamesmaster> *as ridian moves forward, he is only able to make out a mass of cables, an absoute mess of them, and some plating that has come away to reveal even more cables*

  316. [01:43] <Gamesmaster> *He cannot see any entrances, through the calibrated readout at least, which terminates abruptly at either end, the sensors not being able to penetrate far enough to either end of the corridor*

  319. [01:46] * Linus_Svenssen looks out for any kind of comms maintainence terminals which could be scraped for intel
  320. [01:50] <Gamesmaster> *Looking around, Linus is able to see in the haze what appears to be some kind of console. Its type is unidentifiable at several metres due t all the smoke*
  321. [01:51] * Linus_Svenssen moves over to it, careful not to trip on the mass of cabling lining the corridor
  322. [01:53] * Jacob_Dorn chesk teh suits sensors for External Temp and Atmosphere
  323. [01:57] <Gamesmaster> *External Temperature: 11 degrees, 284 kelvin. Atmosphere: Thin, Breathable*
