  3. Finding a scroll
  4.
  5. Plains
  6. The tall, dry grass parts around your legs as you wade through the knee-high brush. You step gingerly, eyes torn between the ground fraught with rocks and holes, and the horizon, wary of any unfamiliar sounds or sights. As you push aside a large, dead bush, a slight difference in color catches your eye. It's minute, almost camouflaging in with the dry ground and yellow grass, but there's a difference alright. You reach down to snatch up the item, and your hands close around aged paper. As you unfurl it, you reveal an ancient magic script that crawls across the scroll in lilting, curling lines. It sends a prickle up the back of your neck. Something about it is familiar, although you can't quite remember what...
  7.
  8. Leave it
  9. You don't trust the scroll, and toss it back down into the grass where you found it.

  14. Desert
  15. The dry sand shifts beneath your feet, and you struggle to keep your footing as you labor over the dunes. The sun beats down on the back of your neck, and you wipe the sweat from your brow. The heat and never-ending sand makes the horizon dance in front of your eyes, and you stumble. Your feet kick up a spray of sand, and the sudden movement dislodges something dry and papery from the ground. It's almost the same color as the burning the sand, but you can make out time-weathered edges and what look like burn marks from a candle. You reach down to snatch up the item, and your hands close around aged paper. As you unfurl it, you reveal an ancient magic script that crawls across the scroll in lilting, curling lines. It sends a prickle up the back of your neck. Something about it is familiar, although you can't quite remember what...

  24. You unfurl the tattered scroll and your fingers instinctively move along the ancient words. They register in your mind without any conscious thought, and you soon find your lips mouthing the forgotten script as if it's something that you've known all along. When the last word passes your lips, the edges of the scroll begin to blacken, and it bursts into a magical, cold flame. Within seconds it's nothing but ash.
