[size=6][color=#dd2423]CHAPTER ONE: MATERIALS and PREREQUISITES[/color][/size]

[size=3][color=#239edd]Before you embark on your Runecrafting journey, you will need many things; you will need a particular set of skills, a particular set of items, a particular number of quests, and a particular number of fucks which you can, ultimately, give.[/color][/size]

[size=5]Firstly's first!

You need the quest Rune Mysteries to unlock the Runecrafting skill. It's a 10/10 quest, complete with walking and talking, so do it. You'll love it or your money back guaranteed!

[color=#f3b2b1]You will also need to complete the Abyss mini quest, which, unlike Rune Mysteries, is a miniquest complete with walking AND talking, so do it. You'll love it or your money back guaranteed![/color]

[size=6][b][color=#dd9323]NOW IT IS NOT TOTALLY REQUIRED THAT YOU COMPLETE LUNAR DIPLOMACY OR DREAM MENTOR, BUT THEY WILL BOTH HELP YOU OUT IMMENSELY IF YOU PLAN TO DO ANY METHOD NOT INVOLVING THE ABYSS, WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO.[/color][/b][/size][/size]

Hey! Having access to the hero's guild will help you recharge your glories for using the abyss!

[color=#ddd123][size=3]And finally, you may consider having Mourning's Ends Part 2 done to have access to death runecrafting, and you may consider having 100% Arceuus house favor to have access to soul and blood runecrafting. These are optional but good options for xp at the level at which they are unlocked.[/size][/color]

[size=5][color=#6cdd23][b]You will of course be needing plenty of pure essence. Pure essence can be used for making any kind of rune, whereas Rune essence can only make f2p runes. Pure essence is typically always cheaper anyway! Buy pure essence as you need it. There is no point in giving you any sort of instruction on how much pure essence to buy, or how to buy it, or how much you should try to spend on it, so at this point I am just rambling on for no reason, wasting both your time and mine.[/b][/color][/size]

[i][color=#b1dcf3]From the Abyss miniquest, you will have retrieved your first small pouch. This pouch can hold:

[*] Medium pouch: holding 6 pure ess, unlocked at RC lvl 25, degrading after 44 fills.
[*] Large pouch: holding 9 pure ess, unlocked at RC lvl 50, degrading after 31 fills.
[*] Giant pouch: holding 12 pure ess, unlocked at RC lvl 75, degrading after 12 fills.

Note that degrading will temporarily lower the number of essence that can be held by the pouches, but they will not totally disappear until you really use the shit out of them.[/size][/color][/u]

[size=5][color=#d113ee]Depending on your intelligence, you should be able to find your way to the Abyss upon completion of the miniquest. You may also have noticed that every time you entire it your PRAYER DRAINS TO ZERO AND YOU ARE MOTHERFUCKING SKULLED.

Nevertheless, you will have to return to the abyss to farm for each of the other pouches. You will be able to find all of them, in order, by killing the abyssal creatures on the outer ring of the abyss. All of the creatures have the same drop rate, so please do kill the shitty leeches.[/color][/size]



[color=#3a7613][size=3]Now in the time you've spent reading this, you could have gotten very little runecrafting experience. So, uh, it's fine.

We've covered essence, pouches, quest and other optional requirements. Now for some other physical gear:

[*] Graceful: You'd be grateful to have graceful for weight-reduction greatness.
[*] Glories: Runecrafting with the abyss, which inevitably you will do, requires having, I would suggest, around 24 glories.
[*] Dueling rings: Good for astrals, forgetting your glory in the abyss, and lavas. We'll get there later.
[*] Games necklace: Get to the hero's guild.
[*] RUNE POUCH: REALLY IMPORTANT: COLON: Helpful for holding runes for teleports for a variety of methods.
[*] Just have a dust staff and a steam staff. No explanation yet.
[*] A shitty ass pickaxe
[*] Holy book (saradomin) is a nice offhand for the abyss. If you're not confident in your defence level, consider mixing your weight reducing gear with dhide as well.
[*] Tiaras: YOU WILL ONLY EVER NEED A FIRE TIARA IF YOU DO LAVAS, or a NATURE TIARA IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE ABYSS.
[*] Mandatory tenth bullet point.
[*] Varrock teleportation tablets, optional abyss escape mechanism, rendering the mandatory tenth bullet point an unnecessary joke

[/size][color=#239edd][/color][size=4][color=#239edd]Magic: To be 100% ready for everything, you'd have 82 magic for magic imbue. Next shittier tier is having 71 magic for the Ourania teleport. Next shittier tier is having 70 for the Moonclan tele. You should have 67 for NPC contact. If you don't have 67 gtfo unless the Abyss is your favorite shit ever.

Combat is tricky, since you'll want a high enough defense to avoid getting hit by suqahs and abyssal fuckers, but you also want to avoid pkers. I did my runecrafting with combat in the 90s. I got pked, but you will probably get pked anyway unless your combat is very very low. Prioritize defense (60s? 70s? at least will avoid too much food eating).

Agility and mining should be as high as possible: think of your level as being your chance of getting through their respective barriers in the abyss, which we'll address later. Shoot for 70s in both, but the higher the better, and the lower, the, uh, worse.

Runecrafting: Having 99 runecrafting will make getting 99 runecrafting really easy!

If you physically run to the abyss, you can [size=6]REPAIR YOUR POUCHES[/size][size=3] Most easily by right clicking him and selecting repair. Keep the Abyssal book in your bank from the miniquest to shorten the dialogue with him. THE DARK MAGE IS CONTACTABLE BY NPC CONTACT FROM THE DREAM MENTOR QUEST. This will help you repair pouches elsewhere without going to the abyss at all![/size][/color]
