Moving from Subreddit to Reddit

The Subreddit alliance is composed of 5 guilds:

* Reddit
* Subreddit
* AllYouCanNom
* BaeOrNah
* Prudence

While other guilds within the alliance may have set rules and guidelines as to who can apply if you're reading this you're currently in the Subreddit guild.  This guild is a sister guild and recruitment area for the main Reddit guild.

Q. Why should I convert guilds? Isn't it all the same? What are the benefits?
A. The Subreddit guild accepts anyone and everyone, so the trust level isn't as high within the guild.  It's a staging area where people can prove to the alliance that they're active, friendly, and good people.

The Subreddit guild is also flushed out whenever it hits max capacity, so if you're not really active you risk being kicked and have to start over again.  People in Main reddit will have a longer grace period before they are kicked.

The main reddit guild also has a lot of trustworthy people, and more people are willing to vouch for their members as opposed to Subreddit.

But by all means you don't have to convert.  The guild still stands well alone by itself and it's only an OPTION to convert.

Here are the prerequisites for converting to the main Reddit guild:

* 50,000 Contribution
* Majority vote

That's it.  50K contribution was chosen to weed people who are inactive out.  If you are just slow, then take your time.  This isn't a race. At a max of 5,000 points a day possible to earn, it should take 10 days of activity to reach the first prereq.

The majority vote is different.  When you have 50k Contribution, you will be asked by Guild Master (Mike) if you'd like to start the application.  Once that happens, he will place your Name in Reddit's BBS with the title *NAME* - APPLICATION TO REDDIT or something of the sort.

People will then be asked to vote YES | NO | DONT KNOW by posting in BBS on their chars.  NO and DONT KNOW will be counted as NOs.  If no one knows who you are, why vote you in? Rushing to 50k contribution without anyone knowing who you are doesn't prove you're likeable or trustworthy.  It only proves you are active.

Once the Guild Master deems enough votes have been counted, he will tally them up, and announce if they've been brought in or not. Prior to joining, the thread with the votes is removed, and then they are added in.

If they are rejected, the Applicant MUST get another 50k Contribution to try again, but it's best to still make friends.

The guild master's vote has immense weight, and can override all other votes.  But GM will not vote unless he deems necessary.
