  1. >You make quick time work of the long trail leading to your small cottage on the hill.
  2. >There’s so much racing through your mind when you finally reach your shed.
  3. >You find the upside down wheelbarrow and lift its back end upright as you race down the hill back towards Fluttershy’s home.
  4. >You’re fearful that once you return, Twilight will no longer be there…
  5. >That she’ll have been long gone after hearing whatever lie Fluttershy told her about the two of you.
  6. Snap out of it, Anon.
  7. >Whatever has happened…
  8. >No. You don’t even know if anything even DID happen.
  9. >You laugh at your own wariness to calm your nerves.
  10. >You approach Fluttershy’s cottage and leave the wheelbarrow near the flowers.
  11. >Twilight and Fluttershy aren’t out here…they must be inside together.
  12. >You keep telling yourself that the pegasus probably didn’t pipe up.
  13. >It brings a little more relief to you.
  14. >Of course she didn’t! Fluttershy is too nice to do anything that evil.
  15. >You turn the handle on the door and begin opening it, only to have it slam shut in your face.
  16. >Strange.
  17. >You try to push the door open, only to hear Fluttershy grunting on the other side.
  18. Fluttershy? What are you doing? Let me in, I’ve got the wheelbarrow to move the flowers.
  19. >She continues to push against you to keep you out.
  20. >”N-no that’s okay…I don’t need them moved anymore. G-go back and get y-your sheers…I n-need my hedges trimmed again…”
  21. What are you talking about?
  22. >You start to become irritated and stop trying to force yourself through the door. You’ve had enough of her.
  23. You know what? Fine. The flowers can stay where they’re at. I’m done with this. Just let me come inside and get Twilight and we’ll be on our way.
  24. >Fluttershy pokes her head out from the other side. She bites her lip.
  25. >”Well….y-you see, Anonymous…she…can’t…”
  26. >A puzzled look forms on your face.
  27. I don’t follow you…
  28. >Fluttershy emerges from the cottage to join you on her back steps.
  29. >”Well…I told her what I did to you…er, what we did...”
  30. >She smiles warmly at you.
  31. >”…What we did together.”
  32. >No…no she couldn’t have…
  33. >You skin turns icy as the color drains from it.
  34. >”I guess she couldn’t face the fact that we were in love with each other. She got really mad and left.”
  35. >You feel so sick. All of your fears have finally been realized.
  36. >The sickness overtakes your entire body. You want to melt into a pool of crying slime.
  37. >It’s over. No more happiness in Equestria ever again.
  38. >You feel a little wobbly. You hold your head.
  39. This…this can’t be happening. Fluttershy, how could you?
  40. >A few tears escape the cusp of your eyes.
  41. >She fidgets her hooves and kicks the dirt, refusing to make eye contact with you.
  42. Answer me!
  43. >”I-I just thought that maybe…we could finally be together….and you would love me…”
  44. >Not this again.
  45. No, Fluttershy…this is enough. I don’t care for you in that way. You need to see that. It’s over!
  46. >She approached you and tries to rub her head on you like Twilight did earlier, but you swipe your hand away.
  47. >You have to go to Twilight’s. You have to set things right.
  48. >You start to walk away.
  49. >”W-where are you going…?”
  50. To Twilight’s, to fix the damage you’ve done…to be with the only person I care about.
  51. >Fluttershy blocks your path.
  52. >”W-why would you want to do that…? Twilight already hates you-“
  53. Yeah, because of YOU, Fluttershy.
  54. >She flattens her ears at the truth in your words.
  55. >You don’t have time for this. Every second here is a second you could be by Twilight’s side.
  56. >There’s a thud at the door as you start to walk away.
  57. >You look over your shoulder at it, then at Fluttershy.
  58. What was-
  59. >”O-oh…that was...”
  60. Is Twilight still in there? Can I please talk to her, please? I really need to.
  61. >You push past Fluttershy, but she blocks the door as you reach for the knob.
  62. >”N-no…you can’t go in there…my house is being…uhm…I have…there’s…flood damage…?”
  63. Fluttershy what are you talking about; I was just in there an hour ago.
  64. >She stammers.
  65. >You try to pry the door open, but she pushes against it, pleading with you.
  66. >”An-nonymous….n-no! Y-you just can’t!”
  67. >You must talk to Twilight.
  68. >You push the yellow pony aside and thrust the door open.
  69. Twilight! Twilight where are you?
  70. >You get an eerie feeling…
  71. >You call out for her, apologizing and pleading with her in the still air of the interior.
  72. >It’s then that you look down.
  73. >It’s then that you see that you see barely-conscious Twilight on the floor, a thick trail of blood behind her leading to the living room of the seemingly innocent pegasus Fluttershy.
  74. >The tears flow freely now; your emotional floodgates have unleashed. You’ve turned into a blubbering fool as you clutch your unicorn friend.
  75. >With weighted eyes, she looks up at you.
  76. >”An-nony…”
  77. >You hold her closer, her voice is weak; her heartbeat slow.
  78. >”I..I l-love…”
  79. >Twilight’s body falls limp in your arms.
  80. …No…
  81. >You hold your ear to her mouth. A faint trail of uneven air is being exchanged.
  82. >She’s still alive; barely.
  83. >Your hands are starting to drip from holding Twilight; there are several lacerations in her side.
  84. Twilight? What happened? Everything is going to be okay…I…I promise…
  85. >You hope. God you really hope so.
  86. >Fluttershy rushes over to you.
  87. >”O-oh, Anonymous…what happened?”
  88. >You look at her face. She looks indifferent to the situation.
  89. >You’re speechless.
  90. Did…did you…?
  91. >No. She couldn’t have.
  92. >You swallow hard to hold back your tears.
  93. Fluttershy…why?
  94. >She stares at you in bewilderment.
  95. >”Because Anonymous…she was trying to steal you from me. I just couldn’t have that. I’m not a jealous girl at all…but…”
  96. >You cry as your face grows angry.
  97. >Fluttershy truly is crazy; no sane person could do this much psychological damage to another and not see fault in it.
  98. >Your fist balls; Twilight’s bloods seeps through the creases between your fingers.
  99. >There’s a faint whisper below you.
  100. >”An...non...no…let’s…home…”
  101. >In your wave on anger and desire for retribution, you nearly forgot Twilight’s dire need of medical attention.
  102. >Now you feel guilt in addition to your fear and hatred. You’re so close to the breaking point right now, but you have to be calm and collected to show Twilight that she’s more important than revenge.
  103. >You take a few steps into Fluttershy’s bedroom and retrieve her comforter and a pillow and return to the grizzly scene.
  104. >You step out the open door and flip the wheelbarrow upright and nestle the pillow and blanket in it.
  105. >Fluttershy stares at your actions, tears falling onto the dirt below her.
  106. >You go to the inner part of the doorway and kneel to tend to the injured pony.
  107. >Your cold, piercing eyes never leave Fluttershy’s as you slowly caress Twilight’s limp body.
  108. >You cradle her head and slip your other arm under her body.
  109. Stay still…this might hurt a little. Try not to move too much, okay?
  110. >You hope your gentle words in this frightening moment comfort her.
  111. >Because right now, with Psychoshy next to you, Twilight’s life in your hands, and being in the lion’s den…you’re petrified beyond anything you could ever have imagined.
  112. >You slowly lift the fragile pony into your arms and carry her outside.
  113. >You feel her warm blood seep through your shirt as you hold her.
  114. >”W-where are you g-going…boyfriend…?”
  115. >Fluttershy awaits a response.
  116. >You don’t answer her. You refuse to even acknowledge her, even as she starts crying.
  117. >You reach the wheelbarrow, hoping it’s comfortable enough for Twilight.
  118. >You gently place her into the one-wheeled makeshift gurney.
  119. Hang on, Twilight…we’ll get to the hospital soon.
  120. >Your scared it’s already much too late for her.
  121. >Your voice cracks.
  122. You’re…
  123. >You take a deep breath.
  124. You’re going to make it…don’t you worry…
  125. >Fluttershy hovers behind you,
  126. >”What are you doing, Anonymous? Sh-she’s going to die soon anyways…”
  127. >In an instant all of your rage builds inside of you and focuses into one part of your body.
  128. >You turn around and give a strong right hook to Fluttershy’s muzzle.
  129. >FUCKTHATFUCKINGHURT.
  130. >She falls to the ground in a cloud of dust.
  131. >You stare at your coiled fist in shock.
  132. >Did you really just do that? You look at Twilight, you’re worried she noticed.
  133. >She’s unconscious, but she has the tiniest hint of a smirk; it lifts a slight weight off your conscious.
  134. >The pegasus lays limp on the ground, much like Twilight was moments earlier.
  135. >You can’t feel any remorse for your action. Your usual second-guessing isn’t there this time.
  136. >She slowly picks up her head and stares at you vacantly through her frazzled mane.
  137. >There’s a small trail of blood exiting her right nostril.
  138. >”I…I guess I-I…deserved that. D-do you f-f-feel better n-now, boyfriend? N-now we can b-be together and n-no one will get between us…I’d really like a kiss now…p-please, boyfriend?”
  139. >Her voice is hollow and monotone.
  140. >Maybe that blow knocked something else loose in her head.
  141. >You release your aching fist to point sternly at Fluttershy.
  142. Stay away from us.
  143. >You slowly pick up the wheelbarrow handles and turn it around and back out of Fluttershy’s backyard, not taking your eyes off of her.
  144. >She’s still on the ground, staring through her hair with a blank thousand yard stare.
  145. >Her faithfulness and devotion to you chills your heart.
  146. >After coming back to the front of the cottage, you turn around and try to put distance between you and Psychoshy.
  147. >You pick up the pace; not much longer to Ponyville.
  148. >Twilight hasn’t said a word. She’s passed out from blood loss.
  149. >Every time you take a corner or turn, the half-inch pool of blood that’s collected on the bottom of the bucket follows.
  150. >You need to say something to her…you like to think she can hear you.
  151. >This was a terrible idea bringing Twilight to work with you.
  152. >And for what? To prove a point? You should have just manned up and told her the truth months ago.
  153. >Town is in plain sight.
  154. >You haven’t said much to your wounded girlfriend.
  155. >Your cries prevent it.
  156. >Out of the corner of your eyes, you see the daisies the two of you saw on the way in.
  157. >If she makes it, you promise to…
  158. >No. She will make it.
  159. >When you enter town, everyone gasps and runs up to you to offer help and consolation.
  160. >To be honest, it all seems like a blur…like it still wasn’t really happening.
  161. >Everyone’s voice is dissonant and the echoes ring in your head, indistinct.
  162. >You don’t say anything to anyone. You just keep pushing the wheelbarrow.
  163. >All that matters is making sure Twilight gets help.
  164. >You make it to the hospital in a mad panic, but you’re too much of an emotional wreck to explain what had happened.
  165. >The nurses whisk the Princess’ star pupil off to the ER.
  166. >You stand at the front desk alone now; nurses asking you what happened.
  167. >You just stand there as motionless as a rock…reliving the image of standing over Twilight watching her life pour freely out of her gashes.
  168. >The nurses chatter inconsistently.
  169. >The room starts to spin.
  170. >You need to sit down.
  171. >You fall into the seat of a chair and stare at the wall, nerves snapped.
  172. >You’re broken.
  173. >”…Sir, you have the right to remain silent…”
  174. >Ponys in uniforms surround you.
  175. >As you sit still and say nothing, they start to become more aggressive.
  176. >This can’t be happening.
  177. >Silence even as they slap the cuffs on you and rip you from your island chair.
  178. >This isn’t happening.
  179. >They escort you towards the entrance…everyone in town stares at you.
  180. >You haven’t blinked in minutes.
  181. >They take you to a barred wagon and prepare to throw you inside.
  182. >You look back to one gruff stallion. You’re blank and empty.
  183. Is she okay?
