  1. But you missed the key point of what I was saying. That would be the part where dodging a bit of metal flung from a tube should be orders of magnitude easier than dodging a wargod's spear. This is the aesthetic under which the Exalted operate, where the sea of humanity is ultimately powerless against the supermen in their midst.
  2.
  3. Exalted most assuredly do not die to death of a thousand papercuts when they are kitted out with the correct layering of defenses. The "I'm utterly invincible to all mortal opposition ever" build is about Essence 4 for Celestials. There are Charms at that range that boil down to "Got Essence? No? Fuck off and die." I know. I've written a bunch of them. Why do these Charms exist?
  4.
  5. Well, primarily so Exalted can tell mortals to go fuck off and die.
  6.
  7. If anyone actually finds a loophole in the system, some way mortals can win, I'm going to do my best to plug it post-haste, because that is not how Exalted are supposed to work. Mortals don't get to win. Not with technology. Not without technology. They just don't.
  8.
  9. People can argue about more accurate modeling of rate and how to use Charm concepts, but they miss the point. Exalted doesn't care about that crap. The rules reflect that. I know. I wrote them that way. At the end of the day, the bit of metal from a tube is going to be mildly better than a crossbow. Accurate modeling of ballistics is no more important than accurate modeling of gravity. It doesn't matter. Such that bullets could exist in Exalted, they exist as action movie bullets that superheroes go into bullet time and dodge out of the path of, assuming enemies can even draw a bead on these lethally fast living superweapons. Once you try to get into the nitty gritty simulations, you miss the point of the game.
