[23:44]	GM-Mizi	[Under Marisa's training, Kai (Who has been severly used like a cheap home appliance plus beaten housewife) improves dramatically, though not very optimal. With Marisa's influence, he's been getting good at blasting-type spell instead of manipulating-type. Today, he's going to take it to the next level. He will perform what everyone with magic can do here; flight.]
[23:46]	GM-Mizi	[Today, again, after he has been ordered to clean up Marisa's reading room (which resembles a bombed Polish house during World War Two, with less debris and more scattered books), he is now at the hill behind her house again, with marisa instructing from the roof like usual.]
[23:46]	Kai	stands at the ready, almost military in demeanor.
[23:46]	Kai	is grinning. Finally, personal flight shall no longer be a dream...
[23:47]	Marisa	"Ahem!"
[23:47]	Marisa	"Listen, fledgeling!"
[23:47]	Marisa	is faux-serious.
[23:48]	Marisa	"Flying around is a big deal! You need to have mental stability, you need to be aware of your surroundings, and you need to look left and right before turning, ascending, or descending!"
[23:48]	Marisa	"Wave left if you want to turn left! It's a flying etiquette!"
[23:48]	Marisa	"Wave right if you want to turn right! It's also a flying etiquette!"
[23:50]	Marisa	"Repeat after me!"
[23:50]	Marisa	points!
[23:50]	Marisa	"If you want to go left, you---"
[23:51]	Kai	Wave left!
[23:51]	Kai	shouts in return and raises his left arm.
[23:53]	Marisa	"If you want to go right, you---"
[23:53]	Kai	Wave right!
[23:53]	Kai	raises his right arm.
[23:54]	Marisa	"Good! You are a fledgeling still, but you are improving!"
[23:54]	Marisa	"Alright. Here's the trick."
[23:55]	Marisa	"There's two type of flying. Beginner level, and advance level."
[23:55]	Marisa	"Here's beginner level!"
[23:55]	Marisa	jumps down from the roof.
[23:56]	Marisa	's broom flies out of the window and reaches her before she touches the ground.
[23:56]	Marisa	"...You use the flow to push the object up from the ground, and be on it."
[23:57]	Kai	gathers air streams directing them from his hands like jets.
[23:58]	Kai	... Something like this?
[23:58]	Marisa	Yup.
[23:58]	Marisa	"This is the easiest way to fly, and it's pretty safe."
[23:58]	Kai	Alright.
[23:59]	Marisa	"Even easier if you use an object you are familiar with for better control."
[00:00]	Marisa	"Next is advanced level---"
[00:00]	Marisa	cross her arms, and with nothing under her, begin to levitate slowly.
[00:00]	Marisa	"Literally push your body up from the ground."
[00:01]	Kai	nods.
[00:01]	Marisa	"This requires better control and precise usage of magic. Pushing too hard make your body sore, and uneven force will make you spin or backflip."
[00:01]	Kai	Makes sense.
[00:01]	Marisa	"I can tell you right here that it's horrible, ze."
[00:05]	Marisa	lands.
[00:06]	Marisa	"When you get used to it, you will know automatically, somehow."
[00:06]	Kai	Fair enough.
[00:06]	Marisa	"Like how you ride a broom for the first time, I guess."
[00:07]	Marisa	"Alright. Spread your arms."
[00:07]	Marisa	does so, too.
[00:07]	Kai	spreads his arms again.
[00:08]	Marisa	"use push tether along both of your arms. Push yourself up."
[00:08]	Marisa	"lightly, okay? I don't want you to launch yourself off to Saigyou Ayakashi."
[00:08]	Kai	alright.
[00:08]	Kai	closes his eyes and imagines the mana tethers slowly growing out of the ground and reflecting off of his hands.
[00:09]	Marisa	"use your legs to stabilize. I can't tell you how on this one. Gotta try, okay?"
[00:10]	Kai	Alright.
[00:10]	Kai	envisions the same process now, but deflecting off of his feet. He opens his eyes, feeling unsteady.
[00:11]	Marisa	"Don't think. Feel."
[00:12]	Kai	Alright...
[00:12]	Marisa	"Oh hey that sounds pretty cool. Gotta keep it for later."
[00:12]	Kai	takes a deep breath and does his best to envision less, and feel more.
[00:14]	Marisa	"Alright. Now stay above the ground for... hm, about treetops?"
[00:15]	Marisa	"See if you can hold still."
[00:16]	Kai	Alright...
[00:18]	Kai	ramps up the force, slowly lifting himself into the air. Initially he is shaky and nearly goes into a spin but after adjusting his limbs against the weird new strain, he resumes rising.
[00:18]	Kai	Haha!
[00:19]	Marisa	"Good!"
[00:19]	Marisa	levitates too. Now she's in front of Kai.
[00:19]	Marisa	"Here's how to go forward."
[00:20]	Marisa	"act as if you fall forward, but slowly."
[00:20]	Marisa	"Adjust second tether somewhere on the back, and just -push-."
[00:20]	Marisa	"Push against nothingness on your back."
[00:21]	Kai	envisions and then feels another mana flow on his back, manifesting in a pushing breeze.
[00:21]	Marisa	"if you bend forward more, you will go faster!"
[00:24]	Kai	nods and does so... but a little too much.
[00:24]	Marisa	"?"
[00:24]	Kai	Gwah-!
[00:24]	Kai	bumps forward and bounces off of Marisa, losing some altitude but quickly stabilizing himself.
[00:26]	Marisa	"Easy!"
[00:26]	Marisa	"Take it slow, hot guy!"
[00:26]	Kai	S-sorry!
[00:26]	Marisa	stabilizes him.
[00:27]	Marisa	"Don't worry. I understand. You are grabbing it because you panic."
[00:27]	Marisa	"I'm not angry, okay?"
[00:27]	Marisa	flushes a bit.
[00:27]	Kai	Sure, sorry.
[00:28]	Marisa	"Go slow this time. Slooooowly."
[00:28]	Marisa	goes in reverse, slowly levitating in front of Kai like how an instructor would teach a kid how to swim.
[00:29]	Marisa	"Don't worry. You're not gonna fall. I'm here."
[00:29]	Kai	follows suit.
[00:29]	Marisa	"Alright. Getting a hang of it, huh?"
[00:29]	Marisa	"Try bend right."
[00:31]	Kai	does so lightly, using his arm to signal and balance forces.
[00:32]	Marisa	[he smoothly turns right.]
[00:32]	Marisa	"There ya go. Remember that feelin' and do it left."
[00:33]	Kai	repeats the process.
[00:37]	Kai	whew...
[00:38]	Kai	breathes carefully, as if it'll throw him off balance.
[00:38]	Marisa	"You should keep doing that all day today to get a feel."
[00:38]	Marisa	"Soon you won't have to fly like a floating scarecrow, and acts more naturally."
[00:39]	Kai	nods.
[00:39]	Marisa	"You will suck, though!"
[00:39]	Marisa	"Since a real pro gotta be able to do at least this!"
[00:39]	Marisa	speed to sharpturn
[00:39]	Marisa	backflip
[00:40]	Marisa	L-shape evasive maneuver to quick overhead u-turn
[00:40]	Marisa	barrel roll.
[00:40]	Marisa	"Because you will have to dodge hell while flying!"
[00:40]	Kai	nods.
[00:40]	Kai	Got it!
[00:42]	Marisa	feel the need to one-upped Kai for no reason.
[00:42]	Marisa	"Try to master it soon, okay?"
[00:43]	Marisa	"I'll be around. Just don't crash into mountains or something."
[00:43]	Kai	I'll do my best!
[00:43]	Kai	raises himself just a bit above the canopy and does various maneuvers at a slow pace, circling.
[00:47]	Marisa	[Time passes. Nighttime comes. Kai ends his training session with a pretty good result. After usual dinner, Marisa call him over to her room. "Bring your blank card with you!", she said.]
[00:48]	Kai	enters with the card in hand.
[00:48]	Marisa	"Oh hey."
[00:48]	Kai	Hey!
[00:50]	Marisa	's room... first time you actually entering her room after you lived in this place. It's quite tidy in Marisa's standard. Still far from 'normal' kind of tidy, but still. She's in her usual mage garb, just without the hat this time. The moonlight shines from one single circular-shaped windows, landing on her big bed with white sheet. She's sitting on it, smiling.
[00:50]	Marisa	"Got your card?"
[00:51]	Kai	nods.
[00:51]	Kai	Your room looks a heck of a lot nicer than the couch.
[00:51]	Kai	quips, making idle chatter.
[00:51]	Marisa	"Well, that's the couch and this is the bedroom. It has a different maiden-level."
[00:52]	Marisa	laughs.
[00:52]	Kai	chuckles.
[00:52]	Kai	True.
[00:52]	Marisa	"Anyway, I'm not gonna order you to tidy it up at this hour. Too many lady's secrets here."
[00:52]	Kai	Oho?
[00:52]	Marisa	"Thing is, you are getting pretty good."
[00:52]	Kai	raises an eyebrow.
[00:52]	Kai	Er, sorry.
[00:53]	Marisa	"So I think it's time for you to actually be a Gensokyoan mage."
[00:53]	Kai	returns to formality.
[00:53]	Kai	... really?
[00:53]	Marisa	"Spellcard."
[00:54]	Marisa	flips hers out. Cards of unyielding love, Master Spark.
[00:54]	Marisa	"I don't know how the others do it, but I'll tell you how I did."
[00:54]	Marisa	absentmindedly play with the card in her hand.
[00:54]	Kai	listens, intent.
[00:55]	Marisa	"I just keep it with me while I... think about things."
[00:55]	Marisa	"Things that matter."
[00:56]	Kai	That sounds fitting.
[00:56]	Marisa	"This came up when I thought about someone I loved."
[00:56]	Marisa	smiles while looking at it.
[00:57]	Marisa	"I was frustrated, back then."
[00:58]	Marisa	"I just wanted to have my spellcard as soon as possible so I could be a real Gensokyoan mage."
[00:58]	Marisa	"I tried different things. Nothing went well."
[00:59]	Marisa	"In the end, I put it under my pillow and slept on it while thinking about stuff."
[00:59]	Marisa	"I don't even remember what."
[00:59]	Marisa	"And somehow, in the morning..."
[00:59]	Marisa	put a card on her chest longingly.
[00:59]	Marisa	"...this comes up on its own."
[01:00]	Marisa	"Magic is a weird thing. It does stuff in a way you sometimes can't understand."
[01:00]	Marisa	"I want to get better at it. I want to understand it. That's why I am a mage."
[01:00]	Marisa	"That's why I am learning everyday. To understand it better."
[01:01]	Marisa	"I showed this card to him. I was so happy."
[01:01]	Marisa	"He even gave me the mini Hakkero reactor as a present."
[01:02]	Marisa	"..."
[01:02]	Marisa	is under the spell of nostalgia for a bit before she snap out of it.
[01:02]	Kai	. o O ( ... Wow. )
[01:02]	Marisa	"Oh hey I really shouldn't rant about myself!"
[01:02]	Marisa	"I just want you to try making a spellcard! What the hell's wrong with me?"
[01:03]	Marisa	"So yeah try and do that and see if it comes up!"
[01:04]	Kai	is a bit awed by just how much Marisa opened up.
[01:05]	Kai	I'll do my best, though right now I only really have my dreams...
[01:05]	Kai	Nothing quite like you had, I think...
[01:05]	Kai	scratches his head. o O ( Maybe this is a bit awkward? I don't know... )
[01:05]	Marisa	"Ahahahaha..."
[01:05]	Marisa	is also in awkward situation.
[01:06]	Marisa	"well it's long gone. It's not like he noticed."
[01:06]	Marisa	"I gave up long time ago. It's good to be a bachelorette!"
[01:06]	Marisa	laughs.
[01:07]	Kai	just smiles. He has a fair idea of what's going on, but...
[01:10]	Marisa	"So, if you try the couch and it's not comfy, you can use my room for today."
[01:10]	Kai	... Certain things might be in the way?
[01:10]	Kai	is snapped out of his introspection.
[01:10]	Kai	eh?
[01:10]	Marisa	"Moonlight is good for smoothing magic threads."
[01:11]	Kai	No, I couldn't do that...
[01:11]	Kai	. o O ( Awkward++ )
[01:11]	Marisa	"From midnight to morning, moonlight will shine straight through the window onto the bed. It might help."
[01:11]	Marisa	"I'll just, y'know, take the couch instead."
[01:12]	Kai	I mean, it's your bed and stuff...
[01:12]	Kai	I've got pretty solid ideas; the couch should be fine...
[01:14]	Marisa	"If you say so."
[01:15]	Marisa	"Call me if you need anything, okay?"
[01:15]	Marisa	"And now off you go!"
[01:15]	Marisa	salutes.
[01:15]	Marisa	"Good luck with spellcard and everything!"
[01:19]	Kai	Ah, Marisa-
[01:21]	Marisa	"Hm?"
[01:21]	Marisa	turns, still at the door.
[01:22]	Kai	Uh, are you sure?
[01:22]	Kai	I mean, the couch isn't bad, but it isn't exactly the most comfy, either...
[01:22]	Marisa	"Why not?"
[01:23]	Marisa	"This is the chance for you to move up from disciple to a not-disciple thing. I just want to help."
[01:24]	Kai	Alright, then.
[01:24]	Kai	. o O ( Maybe I'm the one being too awkward about this. )
[01:24]	Kai	bows.
[01:24]	Kai	Thank you very much, for everything that you have done for me.
[01:25]	Marisa	"You betcha."
[01:26]	Marisa	winks.
[01:26]	Marisa	"Just for today, though. I still like my bed!"
[01:26]	Marisa	shuts the door behind her as she leave.
[01:26]	Kai	Fair enough.
[01:27]	Kai	half undresses and lies back on the bed, carefully leaving the spellcard under the pillow.
[01:27]	Kai	Ahh, this is comfy...
[01:28]	Marisa	[From the window, you see Marisa taking off into the night with her broom.]
[01:29]	Kai	I wonder where she's going...
[01:29]	Kai	's thoughts soon enough wander onto weightier matters, however.
[01:30]	Kai	[Humanity, hope, magic and love all come into mind, the latter two moreso than the first.]
[01:32]	Kai	wonders what truly this discovery of magic will mean to the world, to him...
[01:33]	Kai	[Will it usher a new era? Or will some unforseen circumstance quash dreams of the stars?]
[01:34]	Kai	retains his hope for all of these things, for all of his dreams, yet...
[01:35]	Kai	[He remains uncertain whether he even knows what actual love is, aside from the carnal and familial. So many things... ]
[01:36]	Kai	[Slowly, beneath his sleeping mind, an expression of these hopes, growth, and dreams begins to weave... ]
