  1. Calm
  2. Snow set her down on the snow next to the pool. He raised a claw above her; claws unsheathed, he eyed her throat. It was obvious she had tried to kill him, somehow it didn't seem right to kill her while she was defenseless. He slashed down, nicking her ear instead. Beneath him he heard her whimper. "Why would you do that?" He growled at her, obviously confused.
  3. "It was me who should've been Leader next! You never had to try at anything." She scowled quietly, shaking from the cold. The water soaking her fur was beginning to freeze cooling her significantly.
  4. "You could have killed us both! Now I can't speak with our ancestors, even if I wanted to. Our tribe will have no leader. You've damned us!" He yowled battering her had with sheathed paws. Panting he backed away from her, suddenly feeling the stinging of his wounds. His pads were beginning to burn with cold. If they didn't get back to camp soon they would die.
  5. Rain laid on the ground where he had left her, whimpering quietly. Sniffling, freezing, if she didn't move and fast she would soon be dead. Snow moved his black and white head over his shoulder, staring back at her form as she lay next to the pool. Looking back ahead he made way for the camp. The winds had died down again but the air had a bitter cold to it, common enough in the mountains but it made pelt prickle.
  6. Something felt wrong they had angered their ancestors by fighting. She had tried to break the first and most important rule of tribe life. "Feline will not harm feline." Snow hissed to himself, pawing angrily back to the overhang. He stared down into the camp, his camp, seeing his brothers and sisters going den to den. Picking up the pace he sprinted down slope, brushing past the large rocks that protected the camp.
  7. He recognized immediately the fiery orange she-cat rushing to greet him. "I knew you could do it." She mewed excitedly, brushing her cheek against his.
  8. "I thought you didn't like the idea of me being leader, Thyme." He mewed coyly, returning her nuzzling for a second, before looking into her eyes. She seemed scared.
  9. "What happened to you? You're bleeding!" She mewed, alarmed. Noticing the stickiness of drying blood on the side of his face.
  10. "Rain followed me. I-" Snow started before being interrupted; again, by a loud yowl. He whipped his head around, his heart sped up.
  11. "Hear me! Our new leader tried to kill me, dragged me out to the pond to try and kill me. Just because I didn't think he should be leader." She growled hatefully, stalking past the cats who had come over to Snow to greet him. She shoved Thyme out of the way.
  12. "Look at the wounds, are these not proof enough? He's gone mad, the powers gone to his head." Rain yowled manically, glaring into his eyes.
  13. " I defended myself, you tried to kill me, to break our oath to our way of life. Now you come here and threaten me, shoving cats out of your way? I never should've saved you. I only did because I didn't want your rotting body to disturb our pond." Snow snarled viciously, spit flying from his mouth. His hackles rose, his fur stood on end. The blood in his left eye started to clear and he could return her glare.
  14. "Out with her! The traitor." Snow yowled, expecting his new tribe to obey. Instead they stared at him quizzically. He turned to look at them and Rain sprung onto his back, digging her claws in and rolling him over.
  15. Using his hind legs he launched her off of him. She moved through the air, hitting one of the boulders and going limp. Her breathing the only thing indicating that she was still alive. Snow stalked towards her, claws extended, he was going to kill her.
  16. "Stop! I am not dead yet. Now one of you needs to explain just what is going on right now. I am about to banish both of you, fighting like kits-" Ice mewed, stepping out of his den, coughing roughly in the process.
  17. Rain recovered herself enough to stand on all fours and limped towards him. "He tried to kill me. Didn't you see it?" She mewled, looking as piteous as possible.
  18. "I don't know what I saw, what I know is that this cannot go on. We can't stay here if we tear ourselves apart. We-" Rain sprang a single claw out, raking it down Ice's neck. He stumbled backwards, falling onto his side.
  19. "No!" Snow cried out. He sprang towards her, this time he was going to end this. Once and for all.
