  1. Base Set: Upgraded
  2. Textual Spoiler Draft 1
  3.
  4. Preface: What would Pokemon cards look like if they could be upgraded, along the lines of online CCGs? That was the question that
  5. lead to the design of this set. This set is a complete card-for-card remake of the original base set , but with a distinct increase
  6. in both power level and complexity for each of the cards. The cards are balanced to be roughly on par with the best that the Gen 4
  7. blocks had to offer. Some evolvable Basic and mid-evolution Pokemon have gained niches of their own, and many of the weaker evolutionary lines
  8. have been strengthened to the point of playability, or perhaps even dominance.
  9.
  10. For the more powerful item cards, I have taken the liberty of side-grading them into supporter cards or item
  11. cards of comparable strength, give or take some level of power.
  12.
  13.
  14. Notes:
  15.
  16. 1.
  17. I'm introducing a new special condition: Frozen
  18. The effects of the condition are as follows:
  19. -----------------------------------------------------------
  20. Energy cards cannot be attached to Frozen Pokemon. If a Frozen
  21. Pokemon would be put on the Bench, it is no longer Frozen.
  22. -----------------------------------------------------------
  23. Frozen is treated like a mainline special condition. As such, effects that
  24. allow players to choose "any" special condition allow the player to choose
  25. Frozen.
  26.
  27. 2.
  28. Only a grand total of four Upgraded Energy cards may be used in any given deck.
  29. Any other upgraded cards are treated as copies of their non-upgraded incarnations, as far
  30. as deckbuilding is concerned.
  31.
  32. 3.
  33. This is a rough draft of the set. I am contemplating adding a few additional cards, namely
  34. unused evolutions of basic pokemon from the original set, as well as a bonus Pokemon and Trainer.
  35.
  36. 4.
  37. Evolutionary line hints, flavor text, and illustrator information will not be included
  38. in this spoiler.
