The Promise

Oh Lord, I pray to thee
Grant me with blessings and peace
For should you despise what is requested,
I shall accept my eternal scorn.

Oh Lord, lead me to the promised land,
The land of milk and honey.
If not in the next world,
Then right here and now.

Oh Lord, should you hate me so.
Grant me this peace now
And I shall take my punishment
At Satan’s door.
