- i knew it wasn't allowed.
- i've never once claimed i didn't know it was against ToS.
- i'm pretty sure the only reason you seen it was because of -r
- your hypothetical scenario is lulz because it isn't even remotely close to comparable. i didn't illegally take your VPS out for a "spin". i ran a nmap. which in itself isn't even illegal. it's just against your ToS.
- a more comparable scenario would be like... leaving the drier door open (clothes drier). my gf hates it because the light stays on and it wastes power. i don't do it on purpose... just once in a blue moon i'll forget to close it when i wake up in the morning and get my underwear and socks i'll be in a rush or something... however she'll get mad and demand to know why i did it... she'll ask me what's so hard about CLOSING THE FUCKING CLOTHES DRIER DOOR!@$#!@^... she'll insist i did it on purpose and with malintent.
- i'd agree her concern could be considered accurate if i left ALL the lights on EVERY DAY. but that isn't the case.

- For putting it into context...
- Unsure where you are in your life, but ok.. this is a hypothetical situation below.
- Say you're like... 40, you have a 15 yr old move into your house (friend of one of your kids) they pay rent, but then turn around and take your car for a spin without you knowing. and you catch them..
- Is the question "WHY" in your list of questions for him?
- Only to have this 15 yr old turn around and say, it was because he didn't know he wasn't allowed to.
- and now he's going to go to the police himself because you didn't say he couldn't steal your car. (when if he actually read the rules of the house, he would see in there "No stealing my car")
- By all means, stay away from us in the future, this does not bother us at all. But the fact is, you.. yourself did something wrong, yet you feel the need to complain to everyone that will listen because you did something wrong and we did not.

- for starters it was a accident. there was no malicious intent. i forgot evoburst tos didn't allow port scanning.
- secondly i'm not gonna break down the conversation that was had prior to me running the command to "let you know why i did it"... it's really none of your business.
- thirdly, as i've already stated, if you believe that this VPS is a concern for issue given it's track record (idle usage for a very long time) just shut it down!
- it was 5 euro for a year. i imagine at that price point you have lots of kidlets trying to fast over. as for me i'm done with you. i'll be sure to avoid your services in the future.

- So, Let me get this straight..
- - You Port Scanned (An IP @ Leaseweb SG)
- - You got suspended because of it.
- - You think that all that matters is loads and bandwidth usage (Wrong)
- - You get told that Port Scanning is against Terms of Service and that we don't just monitor bandwidth and loads usage (yes, that means we monitor for awesome things like.. Sessions! :-O)
- - You go crying to everyone on IRC...
- Yet you still have zero argument for your port scanning?
- Yes... seems legit.

- lol. report away buddy. all your scrolls being dumped into various channels on irc right now.
- Ryan Braakhuis || Staff 21/08/2015 20:39
- Sure thing, go post wherever you like Mike.
- You still haven't justified the reason for your port scan, and remember to mention in your posts that we were using "Nodewatch" and caught you "Port Scanning" because of it and that you refused to answer the question of WHY.
- But, on that, i better report you to fraud record and maxmind so other hosts know that you do this.

- yah just go ahead and cancel the account. lol
- i'll be leaving negative feedback on all available sites. i'll be sure to list the whole picture though ;]
- bw usage over time the vps has been running, average loads, etc.
- we'll let people decide themselves if i'm an abusive user or not. *shrug*
- Ryan Braakhuis || Staff 21/08/2015 20:26
- More the amount of conntrack sessions, ssh sessions, SMTP connections etc your VPS spawns up, where nodewatch then tells me what processes you are running in a report so then I can give it to you, and ask why you are doing such a thing, but as i can see you are not willing to provide a reason for why you were port scanning.
- So, it can get sketchy all you want it to, but you'll be the one that's putting words into my mouth.

- && i'm now confused about your implication. if you're suggesting you monitor IRC log i'll have you know i used a tunnelbroker ipv6 tunnel to irc (meaning if you /whois the nick online you'll see my 2001:: address) perhaps you're implying you're monitoring my keystrokes? my bash logs? i'd speculate *BLANKED* e-mailed you...
- this is getting sketchy.
- mike paulette || Client 21/08/2015 20:16
- might as well just shut her down then. inbd.
- Ryan Braakhuis || Staff 21/08/2015 20:14
- It would be justified since you were the one that violated the terms of service quite clearly by port scanning.
- With the command
- "nmap -Pn -vvv -A -sS -p0-65535 -r *BLANKED*"
- Knowing full well that it was against our terms of service to do so, you see... we don't just monitor loads and bandwidth..

- if you check average loads and bandwidth usage. you'll see this VPS rarely gets used. if you believe the suspension is justified you might as well just cancel the service. thanks for your time.
