  7. [2015-03-04 22:05:21]<EchoesOfDeath> Backlash leaves the doctor's office as he starts to snore slightly. It didn't take a moment until he fell asleep.

  9. [2015-03-04 22:11:58]* Backlash is incredibly embarrassed, but determined to work through making a fool of herself. She hustles through to the main glassed-over room, where the garden had been planned, to see how things are coming along.

  11. [2015-03-04 22:22:02]<EchoesOfDeath> There is a pegasus over the glass ceiling but it isn't Star Spotter. He looks down puzzled.
  12. [2015-03-04 22:26:14]* Backlash considers waving up at him, but in her flustered state, she decides against it. She resolves to just find the commissioner instead, and keep her eyes low to the ground.
  13. [2015-03-04 22:33:20]<EchoesOfDeath> The comissioner is not anywhere to be seen, but there are a few deputies watching over the atrium, particularly close to the central tower
  14. [2015-03-04 22:35:13]* Backlash approaches one of the less-gruff-looking deputies. "Uh, 'scuse me, you know where I can find the commissioner?"
  15. [2015-03-04 22:39:33]<EchoesOfDeath> "She's up in the deputy quarters right now. Do you need anything?" The guard says
  16. [2015-03-04 22:40:48]<EchoesOfDeath> Meanwhile Rosebee trots by carrying a few tiny bags and tubes of something
  17. [2015-03-04 22:40:54]<Backlash> "Yeah, uh, I was actually wondering how the scavenging teams work? I, uh, I'm a pegasus, and I'm pretty good at bein' unnoticed, so..." She sounds nervous. She IS nervous.
  18. [2015-03-04 22:48:28]<EchoesOfDeath> "Well, usually the comissioner only puts ponies in these duty when she feels they proved their worth. But it's the most dangerous duty of this place so few look for it anyway." The cyan earth pony rubs his mane. "I'll call her. She'll know better."

  20. [2015-03-04 22:50:07]<EchoesOfDeath> The deputy unlocks the central tower and goes in.
  21. [2015-03-04 22:51:09]* Backlash smiles, and catches Rosebee out of the corner of her eye. She waves at the filly.
  22. [2015-03-04 22:57:53]<EchoesOfDeath> Rosebee waves, trotting closer. "Hi! We are almost ready for the party. Are you coming?" she says, with some bags of juice powder and fruit flavored effervescent vitamin tubes
  23. [2015-03-04 23:02:26]<Backlash> "Party? There's a party?" Backlash perks up a bit. "How the heck are you already settin' up a party?" She smiles incredulously.
  24. [2015-03-04 23:04:34]<EchoesOfDeath> Rosebee shrugs. "It's Cambiance's idea. She got a music player and everything. I dunno if we can get snacks but the nice cook pony let me have these. Now we just need water. I think I still have some of mine."
  25. [2015-03-04 23:06:10]<Backlash> "Hah, that's great, Rosebee! Oh, hey, an' when you get a moment - I have some... probably good news for ya." She smiles encouragingly.
  26. [2015-03-04 23:07:45]<EchoesOfDeath> "Oh? What is it?" She tilts her head and smiles
  27. [2015-03-04 23:13:09]<Backlash> "I found some stuff you might like when I went back to your home. Found some tracks for where your mom could be, and brought a couple of your stuffed friends too. It was a good trip." She wiggles her eyebrows at Rosebee enticingly.
  28. [2015-03-04 23:17:30]<EchoesOfDeath> "Oh, you did? That's great!" She beams and hugs Backlash, not quite getting the subtler part
  29. [2015-03-04 23:20:01]* Backlash hugs the filly carefully, trying not to upset the party supplies. "But we'll talk about it later, okay? It's all in my bags, we just needa sit down and sort it out. ...Uh, later."
  30. [2015-03-04 23:26:42]<EchoesOfDeath> "Okay!" Rosebee says
  31. [2015-03-04 23:27:43]<EchoesOfDeath> The guard comes back bringing the Comissioner with him. "Did you want to see me?"
  32. [2015-03-04 23:29:54]* Backlash leaves the filly and turns back around to face the Commissioner. She smiles brightly, her embarrassment with the doctor somewhat forgotten, and says, "Hi, yeah! I was wondering - my name's Backlash, by the way, nice to meet you - I was wanting to ask you about the scavenger teams."
  33. [2015-03-04 23:33:54]<EchoesOfDeath> "What about them, exactly?" The Comissioner asks
  34. [2015-03-04 23:35:47]<Backlash> "Well, you guys don't let just -anypony- out, right? I wanted ta... apply for the team, or whatever. I can fly, an' I'm really sneaky, and I never miss a thing!"
  35. [2015-03-04 23:44:46]<EchoesOfDeath> "It's dangerous work, as you probably know. The infected lurk on every shadow. Are you sure you want to go outside?" The commissioner looks at her up and down and doesn't seem very impressed
  36. [2015-03-04 23:47:26]* Backlash blinks, seeing the commissioner's analysing gaze, and straightens up. "I have experience, and passion, and ability! And I'm sure I can help everypony out by braving the outdoors."
  37. [2015-03-04 23:55:46]<EchoesOfDeath> "Well, we will see about it. First you must go through a test. As you know, there are sealed areas in these facilities that are forbidden and still have wandering infected. I will arrange a team to supervise you along with other volunteer to retrieve helpful items and clear secure the location." Commissioner. "This is a suitable test as well as a well needed initiative since we have been receiving new members regularly."
  38. [2015-03-04 23:58:22]<EchoesOfDeath> "However." She looks at Backlash with a cold stare. "If you are bitten, you will be exiled and marked for execution on any attempt of return. If you attempt to hide a bite, the others will have orders to execute you on the spot. Do you understand that?"
  39. [2015-03-05 00:03:14]* Backlash 's frown hardens and she nods stiffly. "Yes. ...I don't caught," she adds nonchalantly, "But I wouldn't endanger ponies like that."
  40. [2015-03-05 00:16:05]<EchoesOfDeath> "Very well. I will arrange that you are equipped and an experienced team will accompany you. Also, you will be subjected to quarentine after the mission. If any other competent pony you know wants to volunteer, the conditions are the same. I will call over the comm system when the preparations are ready. Any questions?"
  41. [2015-03-05 00:18:12]<Backlash> "Wait, now? Can I do it tomorrow? I have a couple things I wanna do today, I jus' barely got here... heck, I don't even have a room."
  42. [2015-03-05 00:25:00]<EchoesOfDeath> "No, of course not. It will take some time to get an appropriate team to watch over the test. We also need ready the weapons and protection equipment." The commissioner turns to the deputy. "Get the list, guide her to her room."
  43. [2015-03-05 00:26:18]<Backlash> "It'll be jus' me, right? I don't really need a weapon, I mean, the quieter the better, I just wanna avoid gettin' seen or attacked."
  44. [2015-03-05 00:33:07]<EchoesOfDeath> The Commisioner pauses and sternly raises an eyebrow. "Yes you do need a weapon. It's suicidal to go unarmed. Always have another option, and always have your back covered. If you are foalish to assume everything will go without a hitch, you WILL get killed... or worse."
  45. [2015-03-05 00:36:12]<Backlash> "Alright. Yeah." She nods finally, unwilling to cause another scene. "I jus' don't wanna be a burden."
  46. [2015-03-05 00:45:14]<EchoesOfDeath> "That is a good initiative to have. That is why you will be attentive and careful. Recklessness not only can kill you, but also everyone around you. And Celestia knows how the fallen could be our ruin now. Think about it." She turns back to the tower
  47. [2015-03-05 00:47:41]* Backlash watches the commissioner walk away, seemingly without saying goodbye, and is a little put off. She gives the deputy a little smile and wave before trotting off in the general direction Rosebee went.
