  1. ===START===
  2. [20:01] <strikingBelladonna> Oh darling, I'm ever so glad to see you received my missive.
  3. [20:01] <strikingBelladonna> Alas, I was indisposed until now. I do so hope you have not gone mad without me.
  4. [20:01] <abrasiveCaliginist> Well, I have, but not for your absence.
  5. [20:02] <strikingBelladonna> That was admittedly what I thought more likely.
  6. [20:02] <strikingBelladonna> What has driven you so to madness then?
  7. [20:02] <abrasiveCaliginist> Yeah, I'm usually pretty close to that razor thin boundary as is.
  8. [20:02] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Winona and her proclivity towards graffiti.
  9. [20:03] <strikingBelladonna> Gasp! To think she would deface the beauty of unsullied wall! I'm shocked and horrified!
  10. [20:03] <abrasiveCaliginist> I solved it, sure, but at what cost? Tell me what you think of "L135".
  11. [20:03] <abrasiveCaliginist> Then tell me what you think of "K1LL"
  12. [20:04] <strikingBelladonna> Lies and kill? Or some very specific number/letter sequencing that result in some less than pleasant wording.
  13. [20:04] <strikingBelladonna> You have me at a loss, Harken.
  14. [20:04] <abrasiveCaliginist> Lies and kill, yes.
  15. [20:06] <strikingBelladonna> I don't suppose you're going to be immediately forthcoming in a non-vague manner with the reason you were solving your sweet's graffiti to find these alphanumeric unpleasantries.
  16. [20:07] <abrasiveCaliginist> It was a passcode of sorts.
  17. [20:07] <abrasiveCaliginist> Odd thing is, she swore up and down to never having seen any of it before.
  18. [20:07] <strikingBelladonna> That is strange, what did the passcode lead to?
  19. [20:08] <abrasiveCaliginist> A game. I got a game.
  20. [20:08] <strikingBelladonna> Of course you did.
  21. [20:08] <abrasiveCaliginist> Of course I did.
  22. [20:08] <strikingBelladonna> I don't suppose it was called SBURB?
  23. [20:08] <abrasiveCaliginist> Pretty good for a guess. Care to share your secret?
  24. [20:09] <strikingBelladonna> Not especially. A gal's nothing without her mystique, but I will tell you the same game was delivered to my house via riding mower.
  25. [20:09] <abrasiveCaliginist> Riding... mower...?
  26. [20:09] <abrasiveCaliginist> Someone rode up on a lawnmower to give you a game?
  27. [20:10] <abrasiveCaliginist> I can think of more practical ways, but...
  28. [20:10] <strikingBelladonna> Among other things, yes.
  29. [20:10] <abrasiveCaliginist> I admire their sense of flair.
  30. [20:10] <strikingBelladonna> I had the distinct impression that you would, actually.
  31. [20:10] <strikingBelladonna> I also received a water pistol fashioned after a revolver.
  32. [20:11] <abrasiveCaliginist> Well that's pretty neat!
  33. [20:11] <abrasiveCaliginist> I should teach you how to twirl it if I ever get the chance.
  34. [20:12] <strikingBelladonna> It may be slightly worse for wear now, but I'll be glad to try my hand at watersport grubslinging
  35. [20:12] <abrasiveCaliginist> It's highly satisfying; an extremely rewarding pursuit.
  36. [20:13] <strikingBelladonna> Why am I even surprised?
  37. [20:13] <abrasiveCaliginist> But I've been rambling; you "needed" me earlier, in your own melodramatic manner. I can appreciate that manner, by the way.
  38. [20:14] <strikingBelladonna> Yes, you can, I'm sure.
  39. [20:14] <strikingBelladonna> Before I need you, however, I would like to know something.
  40. [20:14] <abrasiveCaliginist> Yes?
  41. [20:14] <strikingBelladonna> How are you in a situation to discover Winona's forgotten graffitis?
  42. [20:15] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm? She stuck me in her hive to hide while she declares me dead. Why?
  43. [20:15] <abrasiveCaliginist> Place is a mess. Hasn't been used in sweeps.
  44. [20:15] <strikingBelladonna> Well, let me never fault the woman for lack of audacity.
  45. [20:16] <abrasiveCaliginist> You know, she wants me to share her with Innana? Innana of all people!
  46. [20:16] <abrasiveCaliginist> Just... yuck!
  47. [20:16] <strikingBelladonna> Oh, well, perhaps I ought not tell you her plans then.
  48. [20:17] <abrasiveCaliginist> Her plans?
  49. [20:17] <strikingBelladonna> No, no, I'm being good right now.
  50. [20:17] <abrasiveCaliginist> Innana's? Or Winona's?
  51. [20:17] <strikingBelladonna> Both, but that's all I ought to say on the matter.
  52. [20:17] <abrasiveCaliginist> Honestly, sai, I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that Innana is plotting against me.
  53. [20:17] <strikingBelladonna> Nay, even there I have already gone too far.
  54. [20:18] <abrasiveCaliginist> Fair enough. I like surprises, so long as they aren't possessing me.
  55. [20:19] <strikingBelladonna> I fear you may not like this one, but I shouldn't say any more.
  56. [20:19] <strikingBelladonna> Perhaps possession is something of an acquired taste?
  57. [20:19] <abrasiveCaliginist> I've a gun and more sex appeal than I know what to do with.
  58. [20:19] <abrasiveCaliginist> I think I'll be okay.
  59. [20:19] <abrasiveCaliginist> But I digress: you needed me?
  60. [20:20] <strikingBelladonna> Ah, yes.
  61. [20:20] <strikingBelladonna> I was hoping that you could finally tell me that story of Roland meeting my father.
  62. [20:21] <abrasiveCaliginist> Oh gosh, I didn't cover that already? Met in the throne room? Roland was dying of thirst and sexually objectifying your father?
  63. [20:21] <abrasiveCaliginist> Well, thirst and starvation.
  64. [20:22] <strikingBelladonna> Disregarding the trend of everything ever doing so to him, I cut you off after you mentioned him emerging from a portal.
  65. [20:22] <abrasiveCaliginist> Mm. I recall this now. You attempted to "almost flirt" with me.
  66. [20:23] <strikingBelladonna> Was attempting, despite your difficulties.
  67. [20:23] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Indeed. I'm a simple man.
  68. [20:23] <abrasiveCaliginist> In any case...
  69. [20:23] <strikingBelladonna> Speaking of which, I'll ask how sorting out your quadrants has gone after you finish.
  70. [20:24] <abrasiveCaliginist> Oh gosh, what a nightmare that is!
  71. [20:24] <abrasiveCaliginist> But right! Let's talk shop here:
  72. [20:24] <abrasiveCaliginist> Many hundreds of sweeps ago, your father emerged from a portal into the very top of the tower, where Roland awaited.
  73. [20:25] <abrasiveCaliginist> He, too, had beheld the portal, and called it "The Breach"
  74. [20:25] <abrasiveCaliginist> "The Breach" is the space between the portal entrance and exit.
  75. [20:25] <abrasiveCaliginist> One could very easily get lost in it, if they're not careful.
  76. [20:26] <abrasiveCaliginist> Your father emerged, and almost immediately drew his blade upon seeing Roland, but when Roland showed no intent to harm him (and the incapacity to do so; he was very weak), your father sheathed his blade, and they held palaver.
  77. [20:27] <abrasiveCaliginist> ((I've 5% battery left, so if I suddenly DC, just paste what we have))
  78. [20:28] <strikingBelladonna> ((aight))
  79. [20:29] <abrasiveCaliginist> Despite the fact that Roland was hours from death, they became good friends. Well, as good as you can get in such a short period.
  80. [20:29] <abrasiveCaliginist> Your father stayed long enough to watch him die, kept him company in the difficult time.
  81. [20:29] <abrasiveCaliginist> Obviously, that's where Roland's tale ends.
  82. [20:30] <strikingBelladonna> I see, but then what of the scarf?
  83. [20:30] <abrasiveCaliginist> Roland doesn't know.
  84. [20:31] <abrasiveCaliginist> Perhaps it was left with him, and collected by another visitor?
  85. [20:31] <strikingBelladonna> Perhaps.
  86. [20:32] <strikingBelladonna> It's much more palatable than the alternative.
  87. [20:32] <abrasiveCaliginist> That being?
  88. [20:32] <strikingBelladonna> He was involved with an alien twilight vampire.
  89. [20:33] <abrasiveCaliginist> F̱̘̳u͔̕c͍̖k̹̜̞i̷̬̹͔͈̼̻ͅn̪g͇͢ ̤̺̜͎͎͎̟̀k̮̜͎͇̕h̶͈̝̖̻̦es̤̀e҉͓̫d͈̼̫̱̝s̵͖͓͕͓.̛̝̜̜͎.̰̩̤̙̖̦̙.̷̻̳̮̫̘͓͚ ̡̰̼̮̠͖̮
  90. [20:34] <strikingBelladonna> Well, this seems as good a time as any: How is sorting your quadrants out going?
  91. [20:35] <abrasiveCaliginist> Swimmingly, thanks. Stupid Winona and her stupid couch. Damn Bee Gees. Stupid Innana.
  92. [20:35] <strikingBelladonna> More or less as expected then.
  93. [20:36] <strikingBelladonna> Well, if it gives you any heart, I believe I am having similarly little luck.
  94. [20:36] <abrasiveCaliginist> I don't think it does. I didn't start this silly "game" to watch you struggle.
  95. [20:37] <strikingBelladonna> Well that's unfortunate, and here I thought you were really getting into the competitive spirit of the thing.
  96. [20:37] <abrasiveCaliginist> I started it because I was goofing off.
  97. [20:37] <abrasiveCaliginist> I like goofing off.
  98. [20:37] <abrasiveCaliginist> It feels good when you're feeling high strung.
  99. [20:38] <abrasiveCaliginist> The whole world could be closing in around me, and all I have to do is fuck a hide a bed and I feel considerably better.
  100. [20:38] <abrasiveCaliginist> Also ashamed. I feel ashamed.
  101. [20:38] <strikingBelladonna> You... fucked a hide a bed.
  102. [20:39] <abrasiveCaliginist> I will not confirm or deny that.
  103. [20:39] <strikingBelladonna> Harken, I cannot tell you how my self-esteem is plummeting now that I've learned just what your taste in... er... partners, is.
  104. [20:39] <abrasiveCaliginist> What! It was... okay, I can't really justify that insanity.
  105. [20:40] <strikingBelladonna> Does Winona know of your infidelity? Or was the couch giving you hate-looks which would make Innana jealous?
  106. [20:40] <abrasiveCaliginist> On the plus side, I got the impression that it very much enjoyed our rendezvous, so there's that.
  107. [20:41] <abrasiveCaliginist> I don't think she does, unless she has cruelly installed cameras for the purpose of recording her numerous romantic trysts.
  108. [20:42] <strikingBelladonna> Hm, I look forward to mentioning this to her in the future then.
  109. [20:42] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Winona's a tricky one. It hurt me to see the word "K1LL" scrawled on her wall in my text color.
  110. [20:43] <strikingBelladonna> Oh, well, now that's just rude.
  111. [20:43] <abrasiveCaliginist> The thing is
  112. [20:43] <abrasiveCaliginist> Your word was "L135"
  113. [20:43] <abrasiveCaliginist> But neither of us have committed our respective sins in quite some time, I feel.
  114. [20:44] <abrasiveCaliginist> People don't give you enough credit, by the by.
  115. [20:44] <abrasiveCaliginist> You aren't telling me everything.
  116. [20:44] <strikingBelladonna> Not to besmirch either of our good names, Harken, darling, but we've both sinned in the last week.
  117. [20:45] <abrasiveCaliginist> But you haven't lied.
  118. [20:45] <abrasiveCaliginist> Well, those specific sins, I mean.
  119. [20:45] <strikingBelladonna> I don't lie, I just use sarcasm which is hard to detect over text.
  120. [20:45] <strikingBelladonna> Also, I mean exactly those specific sins.
  121. [20:45] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm.
  122. [20:46] <strikingBelladonna> I am well aware you killed a group of grubslingers shortly into our meeting each other.
  123. [20:47] <strikingBelladonna> And my lies are fresher than their bodies.
  124. [20:49] <strikingBelladonna> ((You there will?))
  125. [21:14] <abrasiveCaliginist> Their corpses are well past rotted by now, but I suppose I understand your meaning.
  126. [21:15] <abrasiveCaliginist> (( strikingBelladonna to surgery))
  127. [21:15] <strikingBelladonna> ((am beck))
  128. [21:15] <strikingBelladonna> Exactly, we're hardly pure and misunderstood souls, Harken.
  129. [21:16] <strikingBelladonna> Well, maybe I am, after all I am the soul of good intent at the moment.
  130. [21:16] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hardly pure, but I still think they don't give you enough credit. You're not a bad person. I can feel it in the tips of my horns.
  131. [21:17] <strikingBelladonna> It sounds uncomfortable to be felt by the tips of someone's horns, even if they are nubby.
  132. [21:17] <abrasiveCaliginist> You'd have to have horns to understand, I guess.
  133. [21:18] <strikingBelladonna> Oh, now that was just rude.
  134. [21:18] <abrasiveCaliginist> Ah, I guess that was racist, huh?
  135. [21:18] <strikingBelladonna> You'd have to have ducked for that to go over your head.
  136. [21:19] <abrasiveCaliginist> ?
  137. [21:19] <abrasiveCaliginist> Was that an innuendo? I didn't notice.
  138. [21:19] <strikingBelladonna> More just a nod that feeling someone with the tips of your horns would likely involve jabbing them with them.
  139. [21:19] <strikingBelladonna> Not everything is about sex, you brute.
  140. [21:20] <abrasiveCaliginist> I don't jab things with my horns; their shape isn't conducive to it.
  141. [21:20] <abrasiveCaliginist> I'd have to make a weird, backwards bucking motion.
  142. [21:20] <abrasiveCaliginist> By that point, I may as well just poke you with my finger.
  143. [21:21] <strikingBelladonna> Of course, how silly of me.
  144. [21:21] <strikingBelladonna> Well, if I might pretend be this not bad person you seem to think I am, I will admit, you've sobered since I've known you.
  145. [21:22] <abrasiveCaliginist> Heh, "sobered" in the sense that it's harder to get me to go off on people, but I promise you I'm as energetic as ever.
  146. [21:22] <abrasiveCaliginist> I enjoy dancing again, for example.
  147. [21:23] <strikingBelladonna> I was referring to your transformation from the, "Devil of the Wastes" who aggressively announces how fetching he finds young french girls, into a sweet little grumpy puppy.
  148. [21:24] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hey, I'm no less dangerous. I'll have you know I've slain at least eleven canned cheeseburgers today.
  149. [21:24] <strikingBelladonna> And their children quake with fear for when you come to burn their orphanage.
  150. [21:25] <abrasiveCaliginist> There are no orphans left to burn, remember? They just get culled nowadays.
  151. [21:25] <abrasiveCaliginist> I mean, that policy was enacted before I was even hatched. I'm innocent. Innocent, I say!
  152. [21:26] <strikingBelladonna> Ah, of course, I'm sure the canned cheeseburger's children will be glad to be spared the agony of witnessing their home destroyed when you hear small motors moving chains.
  153. [21:26] <abrasiveCaliginist> You know, I have a question for you.
  154. [21:26] <strikingBelladonna> I'm an open book, Harken, ask away.
  155. [21:26] <abrasiveCaliginist> How was your day?
  156. [21:27] <strikingBelladonna> That's an interesting question.
  157. [21:27] <strikingBelladonna> Why do you ask?
  158. [21:27] <abrasiveCaliginist> Because we're friends.
  159. [21:27] <abrasiveCaliginist> And that's what friends do.
  160. [21:28] <abrasiveCaliginist> They give a rat's ass.
  161. [21:28] <strikingBelladonna> A day without Winona and you're already so desperate for companionship you'd name me friend. I'm flattered, really.
  162. [21:29] <abrasiveCaliginist> That's not it.
  163. [21:29] <abrasiveCaliginist> I think we've been friends for a decent amount of time now. Ever since you apologized.
  164. [21:30] <abrasiveCaliginist> That was a good conversation; bleeding out of an eye socket, and just so touched you would humble yourself so that I couldn't tell the difference between my tears of joy and the oozing blood.
  165. [21:31] <strikingBelladonna> From anyone else, I would believe that sarcasm.
  166. [21:31] <strikingBelladonna> But you're such a softie, I daresay it has the ring of truth to it.
  167. [21:32] <abrasiveCaliginist> Ach! You give me too much credit!
  168. [21:32] <strikingBelladonna> Nay, I daresay I don't give you enough.
  169. [21:33] <abrasiveCaliginist> Also: losing an eye hurts a LOT, so some of those tears may have been from the extreme pain of having my optic nerve cut. But not all of them!
  170. [21:33] <strikingBelladonna> I'm proud to know that tears caused by me were amongst those shed.
  171. [21:34] <abrasiveCaliginist> But you haven't answered my question: how was your day? I'm curious, and am hoping it was more eventful than remembering that I'm a vile K1LLer.
  172. [21:35] <strikingBelladonna> Well, I suppose one could call it rough if they were so inclined to analyze it.
  173. [21:35] <abrasiveCaliginist> Do tell.
  174. [21:37] <strikingBelladonna> If you simply must know, I am finding myself incorrigibly vexed by Winona.
  175. [21:37] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hah! That makes two of us!
  176. [21:37] <abrasiveCaliginist> But pardon my interruption: go on.
  177. [21:38] <strikingBelladonna> Well, you're no doubt familiar with her feelings regarding me after my announcement of my initial intentions with you?
  178. [21:38] <abrasiveCaliginist> Right. You wanted to toy with me, and she was having none of it.
  179. [21:39] <strikingBelladonna> Yes, it turned into quite the animosity, even after you'd already accepted my apology, and I will admit I have enjoyed fueling the flames, so to speak.
  180. [21:40] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Understandable; a good kismesis is hard to let go.
  181. [21:40] <strikingBelladonna> Perhaps, but at the time I was not aware that I was engaging in such a thing.
  182. [21:41] <strikingBelladonna> It was not until she accused me of black flirtations and I reread your messages on the matter that I understood that was the truth.
  183. [21:41] <abrasiveCaliginist> So these feelings bother you?
  184. [21:41] <strikingBelladonna> Not at all, it is Winona whom they bother.
  185. [21:42] <abrasiveCaliginist> Of course, and I may have an idea why.
  186. [21:42] <strikingBelladonna> After alerting me to them, and even praising my skill, she declared that such a relationship untenable!
  187. [21:42] <abrasiveCaliginist> For what reasons?
  188. [21:42] <abrasiveCaliginist> Inaccessibility?
  189. [21:42] <strikingBelladonna> Yes, which I admit, I cannot fault her for.
  190. [21:43] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. There may be other motivations behind it as well.
  191. [21:43] <abrasiveCaliginist> Roland didn't enjoy kismessitude, either.
  192. [21:43] <strikingBelladonna> But she has insisted on disregarding my offers of friendship as an alternative, instead returning to these darker persuasions time and time again.
  193. [21:43] <abrasiveCaliginist> He felt uncomfortable with the concept.
  194. [21:43] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hmmmmm... curious.
  195. [21:44] <abrasiveCaliginist> She probably doesn't trust you.
  196. [21:44] <abrasiveCaliginist> Or, at least, that's my guess.
  197. [21:44] <strikingBelladonna> Of course not, she makes a great deal over how untrustworthy and dangerous and evil I am.
  198. [21:44] <strikingBelladonna> It's great fun, but alas, it leaves me without satisfaction.
  199. [21:44] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. I think a slightly impish nature and a penchant for raising Cain hardly makes someone evil.
  200. [21:45] <abrasiveCaliginist> That alone doesn't, anyway.
  201. [21:45] <strikingBelladonna> As I've said, I may have a slight tendency to fuel her flames.
  202. [21:45] <abrasiveCaliginist> It's when we seek to do harm with those things that we might be considered less-than-savory.
  203. [21:46] <strikingBelladonna> I cannot help that I enjoy working her into a state by going on about how I will play with you all as toys.
  204. [21:46] <abrasiveCaliginist> You get bored! I know the feeling: I'm somewhere between upset and bored out of my pan right now.
  205. [21:47] <abrasiveCaliginist> K1LL. Why was it that? And why did Winona get L0V3?
  206. [21:47] <strikingBelladonna> Well, she was the one writing them.
  207. [21:47] <abrasiveCaliginist> Without knowing she was doing it.
  208. [21:48] <strikingBelladonna> Yes, but bias is a subconscious function.
  209. [21:48] <strikingBelladonna> I received L135 after all.
  210. [21:49] <abrasiveCaliginist> These were probably written a sweep ago or more, though. That's part of what bothers me.
  211. [21:49] <strikingBelladonna> I ought to be more shocked by this revelation than I am.
  212. [21:49] <strikingBelladonna> Were we three the only to receive these graffitis?
  213. [21:50] <abrasiveCaliginist> No. the others had their own.
  214. [21:50] <strikingBelladonna> What were theirs, if I might ask?
  215. [21:50] <abrasiveCaliginist> Luna had "W153", Innana had "GR0W", and Vera had "845H"
  216. [21:51] <abrasiveCaliginist> You might notice that three of us (Winona, Luna, and Innana) had considerably more positive words than the other three (who had words relating to violence and deception).
  217. [21:51] <abrasiveCaliginist> But Vera is far from a bad person.
  218. [21:51] <strikingBelladonna> I don't feel any sort of negativity in Vera's 845hing.
  219. [21:52] <strikingBelladonna> And I hardly think Winona would find her L0V3 a blessing at this point.
  220. [21:52] <abrasiveCaliginist> Really? Bashing is rather violent, coming from a man who's bashed a skull in.
  221. [21:53] <abrasiveCaliginist> Close quarters is where we learn true sadness, one of my instructors would say.
  222. [21:53] <strikingBelladonna> Furthermore, lies can be positive, and growth can be negative.
  223. [21:53] <abrasiveCaliginist> "To put the barrel of your revolver flush against their chest that their flesh may muffle the sound of the report, to see the life leave their eyes... that is true sadness."
  224. [21:54] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Cuentame mas.
  225. [21:54] <strikingBelladonna> You do realize I speak French and not Spanish, correct?
  226. [21:54] <strikingBelladonna> However strange it is for an alien to speak Spanish in the first place.
  227. [21:54] <abrasiveCaliginist> Spanish? It's Iberian, spoken by the vaqueros southwest of here.
  228. [21:55] <abrasiveCaliginist> I picked some up during my travels.
  229. [21:55] <strikingBelladonna> Well, we call it Spanish on Earth, so I suppose this is on the same level as Twilight.
  230. [21:55] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Speak some French for me. Maybe we have an analogue for it, too.
  231. [21:57] <strikingBelladonna> Non, je ne veux pas parler français pour vous, l'homme stupide.
  232. [21:57] <abrasiveCaliginist> Ah, gallian.
  233. [21:57] <abrasiveCaliginist> We call that Gallian.
  234. [21:57] <strikingBelladonna> Of course you do.
  235. [21:57] <abrasiveCaliginist> It's spoken across the sea, west of here.
  236. [21:57] <strikingBelladonna> Well, regardless, you wished me to tell you more.
  237. [21:57] <abrasiveCaliginist> Also, don't call me dumb.
  238. [21:59] <strikingBelladonna> My apologies.
  239. [22:00] <abrasiveCaliginist> 'Tis nothing my friend. Continue, please.
  240. [22:01] <strikingBelladonna> There are a great many things which one would wish not to grow, weeds, violence, mold on food.
  241. [22:01] <strikingBelladonna> And with lies, there are a great many times when they are necessary, for instance when one's wife asks them if they look fat in a dress.
  242. [22:01] <abrasiveCaliginist> Ah, I see. Where I think of it in a personal sense, you have a broader idea. Good catch.
  243. [22:02] <strikingBelladonna> I don't know if you have wives, actually, so you may replace that with matesprit if it will make more sense to you.
  244. [22:03] <abrasiveCaliginist> I think I get the gist; white lies to spare someone's feelings.
  245. [22:04] <strikingBelladonna> Among other ones, I am willing to bet that there are examples within history of lies preserving countries.
  246. [22:04] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Espionage, maybe? Is that why you lie? To preserve something?
  247. [22:05] <abrasiveCaliginist> Or, past tense, lied, if you've cast that away.
  248. [22:05] <strikingBelladonna> Perhaps, to everything.
  249. [22:05] <abrasiveCaliginist> I can see where killing might be positive, too, but it's difficult to articulate.
  250. [22:06] <strikingBelladonna> Well, in a practical sense, it has kept you alive recently.
  251. [22:07] <strikingBelladonna> Hell, Ms. L0V3 herself is off to give some L135 about you, unless I've been speaking to a corpse for some time now.
  252. [22:08] <strikingBelladonna> I don't need to explain just how embarrassing that would be.
  253. [22:08] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. You put it in perspective quite well.
  254. [22:08] <abrasiveCaliginist> Also, you're good: I still very much draw breath.
  255. [22:08] <abrasiveCaliginist> Just don't tell the grubslingers.
  256. [22:09] <strikingBelladonna> Well, I suppose that does away with my plans for after this conversation.
  257. [22:09] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Joking aside, it'd be an odd choice to tell them, given their awful track record.
  258. [22:10] <strikingBelladonna> True enough.
  259. [22:10] <abrasiveCaliginist> But I digress; I trust you enough not to tell them that I am, in fact, not dead.
  260. [22:10] <strikingBelladonna> Hm, Harken, I find myself in need of something, which you may be uniquely suited to provide, if what you advertise is indicative of experience.
  261. [22:10] <abrasiveCaliginist> Yes?
  262. [22:11] <strikingBelladonna> I do not know of any names one might refer to their kismesis as. What are the darlings, the dolls, the babes, and the sweethearts of that quadrant?
  263. [22:12] <abrasiveCaliginist> Usually? I'm disposed towards mean names. "You", spoken with particular venom, often works fairly well
  264. [22:13] <abrasiveCaliginist> I'm going to regret telling you this, but...
  265. [22:13] <abrasiveCaliginist> A kismessitude isn't just about disliking someone.
  266. [22:13] <abrasiveCaliginist> A kismesis preys on their significant other's vulnerabilities and flaws.
  267. [22:13] <abrasiveCaliginist> You continuously point them out, deride them for them, and they respond in kind.
  268. [22:15] <abrasiveCaliginist> Make sense?
  269. [22:15] <strikingBelladonna> Hmm, I see.
  270. [22:15] <strikingBelladonna> It does.
  271. [22:16] <abrasiveCaliginist> It's a relentless assault, a vehement vituperation, an impassioned invective.
  272. [22:17] <abrasiveCaliginist> Honestly, if someone's not interested in you in that way, if they don't want to pursue it, the politest thing to do is ease off. Even a kismessitude has a certain code of conduct.
  273. [22:17] <strikingBelladonna> I shall be certain to ease off when she shows signs of doing so herself.
  274. [22:18] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm. Yes. It's a little difficult when it's clearly reciprocated, but the other denies it.
  275. [22:18] <strikingBelladonna> Until then, I shall gladly be taking this advice you've given me.
  276. [22:18] <abrasiveCaliginist> With Winona, I find myself a bit vexed, myself, and I wonder what the best course of action is.
  277. [22:18] <abrasiveCaliginist> She wants me to share with Innana, but that's not fair to anyone; it won't work.
  278. [22:19] <strikingBelladonna> Well, I'm playing nice at her behest, so I'm afraid I ought not offer advice, or comment, in turn.
  279. [22:19] <abrasiveCaliginist> So I ask myself: do I continue trying for flushed, or should I palezone her for everyone's own good?
  280. [22:20] <strikingBelladonna> Oh, it does pain me to see you so lovesick like this, grubslinger, but worry not, I'm sure when she returns from enjoying Innana's haunch you'll be able to have a long discussion and really hash the matter out.
  281. [22:21] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hm! Quite the barb, but it's alright; I can understand how frustrating it may be to watch me wax on like this.
  282. [22:22] <strikingBelladonna> Ah, worry not, I shall endure the misaimed slings and arrows of your romantic life.
  283. [22:22] <strikingBelladonna> After all, I have been informed I am to give a rat's ass, though I shudder to imagine what you will do with it.
  284. [22:23] <abrasiveCaliginist> Probably cook and eat it. I've eaten rat before; it's highly underrated.
  285. [22:23] <strikingBelladonna> Perhaps I will try some on your recommendation then.
  286. [22:24] <abrasiveCaliginist> Okay.
  287. [22:24] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hey, thanks for chatting it up with me; I was super bored, and I thought it was a nice conversation.
  288. [22:24] <strikingBelladonna> I suppose it was.
  289. [22:25] <abrasiveCaliginist> Before I go, I wanna ask if you'll play this game with me. SBURB.
  290. [22:25] <strikingBelladonna> I was just about to ask you the same.
  291. [22:25] <abrasiveCaliginist> Aha! Amazing!
  292. [22:26] <strikingBelladonna> Well, perhaps Luna is rubbing off on me, but I can hardly fancy this a coincidence.
  293. [22:26] <abrasiveCaliginist> Hey, you've heard me talk about ka before.
  294. [22:26] <strikingBelladonna> I shall let you know when the game has installed and I am able to play.
  295. [22:26] <abrasiveCaliginist> I suppose I can spare you the lecture this time.
  296. [22:26] <strikingBelladonna> I appreciate your mercy.
  297. [22:27] <abrasiveCaliginist> I'll talk to you when I'm set up.
  298. [22:27] <strikingBelladonna> Until then.
  299. [22:27] <abrasiveCaliginist> Long days and pleasant nights, Sai Lexi.
  300. [22:27] <strikingBelladonna> Au revoir, Harken.
  301. [22:27] * strikingBelladonna has ceased espering abrasiveCaliginist
  302. [22:27] <abrasiveCaliginist> ==END!==
