Knock Out Scouts

<CounterBeard> LAST TIME ON SURFIN' SCOUTS! They explored a bit of ReefTown, met some of the locals. Alexei made an impromptu dance number much to the delight of the corsola and humans. They also met up with the towns patriarch and founder. This week: A new Gym Leader? A Trial for Guardians awaits! Let's Go!
<CounterBeard>  Lindon supplied you all with a hotel for the evening. But it is the morning of your second day in Reef Town. The hotel is near the docks with easy access to the heart of the little villa. What do?
<Tentra> Tentra gathers her things for the day, then heads to the lobby, looking for a coffee machine or somewhat while waiting on the others.
<Savage> (Is Reeftown an island or is it connected to land somewhere along itself?)
* Rock checks out his new sword bow hybrid. Seriously, wtf was going on in his mind when he made that? But now is the time for action! So he says as he attempts to sneak away from the group.
<Tentra> She starts to take some notes for planning for the day..."Most of this depends on just what our graceful patron has in mind..."
<CounterBeard> (It is on a large coral reef. Actually built up on it.)
* Rock flips open his Pokedex, checking for a location on the map...
* Rock goes around the docks, looking for a boat rental place.
<Savage> (I know that; I mean, is the city itself connected to dry land anywhere or is the only way off by boat/by Pokemon?)
<CounterBeard> Tentra: There is a little cappuccino machine in the lobby. It is free to use for those who have stayed in the hotel.
<Tentra> Well then she helps herself and continues to take notes in the lobby!  "...If the grand daughter is to need guards..." She bites the end of her pen in frustration. "How to do this..?"
<CounterBeard> (There is no real land bridge but there is a little cave/cove area near the outskirts you were exploring yesterday.)
<CounterBeard> Rock: There are several little rental shops. Most of them seem to be for taxi service around town though.
<Tentra> She starts scribing hopelessly, she has no idea how this job works, and decides to just wait on the others.
* Savage is going to be late to wake up.  Being up all day wandering the town and only really finding that cove in the end didn't exactly leave him with the best sleep, even if his companions don't seem to have been bothered by it.
<Rock> "..." That, and Rock does not have money at all. He takes to the Pokecenter, looking for a notice board or something.
<Tentra> "Well while we wait..." she releases L, and picks up another tome.

<CounterBeard> The town seems rather busy this morning Rock can see all types running around going to shops, or talking to neighbers. The town is atleast twice as active as it was yesterday. Weird.
<Tentra> But...is too stressed to make anything legible.
<CounterBeard> (What do you have to pass for Hidden Upgrade any how?)
<Rock> "..." The leader must be better or something. Rock taakes out Biter, who probably had a good sleep. Not that Rock knows what it's like inside the Pokeball.
<CounterBeard> Biter streeeeeetches and  yawns. <Hi.>
<Rock> "Hi. What's going on? So many people out today..."

<Rock> "...hm. Can you scan the people around here?"
<CounterBeard> Even through her frazzled mental state Tentra is able to summon forth an unown, she can feel the idea being plucked from her mind...But where the hell is it?
<CounterBeard> <Uh. Okay...Seems like some old man is doing better. He mad some sorta announcement or something thismorning.>
<CounterBeard> Tentra try to be the wargle eye.
<Tentra> "...oh dear, that is a curious problem..." She puts down her coffee.

<Rock> "Oh, what kind of announcement?"
<CounterBeard> Tentra catches sight of something floating infront of the double doors outside of the hotel...A. It seems to be patrolling. A few people seem to be staring at it on the street corner.
<Tentra> "H-hey, come back here!" She chases after it, outside the hotel.
<CounterBeard> <I dunno. Alot of them think it has something to do with PP. Whatever that is. Some of them think it has to do with some sorta weird visitors he had yesterday.>

<CounterBeard> It continues to patrol the door way. As it hears Tentra it turns around, blinking to attention. Ohgod is it trying to salute?
<Rock> "PP..." Rock shrugs and heads over to the Pokecenter to make a little extra money for himself.
<Tentra> "Collective recruit A!  We humble request your assistance!" She scurries over to it posthaste!
<CounterBeard> Savage: Huh. Your arm and feet feel wet...Is the water rising in here or something?
<CounterBeard> The pokecenter is rather busy, with a line out the door. it seems everyone and their mother are either getting their pokemon checked out or transfering them from a ranch or some such.
<CounterBeard> A does a little bow and blinksalutes again.
<Savage> "Nnn... mn...?" Savage mutters and grumbles as he becomes aware of the water, and sits up, rubbing his eyes.  "Is it morning already...?  Who threw me in the river...?"
* Rock waits in line for a bit... there better be a job.
* Alexei wakes up late and has his breakfast, complimentary vodka from the hotel and some orange juice, before heading over to Lindon's place once more to visit.
<CounterBeard> The water continues to rise around you Savage..."Cookiecookie."
<CounterBeard> Eventually Rock you get to the front desk. A nurse stands there looking ragged. "Yesonemomentplease." He goes through some paper work and writes down a few things before turning around "Healing? Check up? Or Transfer?"
<Tentra> Tentra blinks back.  She's never seen an Unown do this.  She grabs L like a handle, and reaches out.  "Let it be written that you shall become part of the Order's left hand of justice, little one."
<Rock> "I was wondering if you know if anyone is looking for jobs." Rock says, quite bluntly.
<Savage> "But I don't want a cookie?" Savage rubs the sleep out of his eyes and gets a better look around.  Where's all this water coming from?
<CounterBeard> She blinks at you Rock and nods slowly "Well. There is that whole job offer to be the Guardian from Lindsey Lorie.."
<Rock> "Oh? What about it?"
<CounterBeard> A spins around before darting close to L and blinking in rapid succession.
<CounterBeard> It seems that deeper into the cave you slept in is connect to water, the tide is rising. A few krabbies are trying to figure out why you are hanging out in their living room.
<CounterBeard> "That is about the only job offer I really know about. The whole town is in a bit of a tizzy about it."
<Tentra> She goes ahead and lego clicks, with a sigh.  "You gave me a fright, little one, running off like that."
<Rock> "Alright. Where do I sign up?"

<Savage> "Oh, hey, the water's coming in," Savage looks at it, then frowns; it's gonna get his feet all wrinkly if he keeps them in the water like this.  "Sorry, guys; I'd stay and chat, but..." oh god they are kinda adorable in a weird way but he can at least get out of the water first.

<Tentra> She then decides to look for one of her human comrads, running around town with her Pokedex and little map to find someone.
<CounterBeard> Alexei: The Lorie Residence has a huge line infront of it again. James spots you and ushers you in quickly."My father did another of his little stunts."
<Savage> He gathers up his companions, all higher up than him - except Wotter who's playing in the water with a bunch of new shells - and starts making his way out.
<CounterBeard> "Um. Honestly I have no idea sir. I just run the center here. And I am rather busy so.."
<CounterBeard> The Krabbies wave you off Savage. "Cookiecookiecookie."
<Alexei> "Stunt? Did not know father was in circus." Alexei follows him in.
<Savage> "See you later, little guys!  Thanks for the rest!" he grins back at them and then heads back out into the city.  Hm, he should probably be doing something - but with no idea of what, he takes to wandering the city.  This doesn't last long before his stomach starts grumbling and gives him something to do.
<Tentra> Tentra isn't very good at multitasking with the gadget as she tracks Alexei down, and nearly runs right into him. "Hello!"
<Alexei> Tentra gets splashed with booze as she startles Alexei. "No! Was last bottle from hotel! Now what is going to do? Without money, Alexei is have to steal mouthwash from hotel and drink."
* Rock goes out of the Pokecenter... maybe the Lorie residence is where he needs to go. "...sir, where's the Lorie residence?" he asks the nearest person.

<Alexei> (just a little, it was already tiny bottle and now it is all gone ;-;)
<CounterBeard> "He sent out a public-Ah hello Ms. Tentra. I was just informing Mr. Alexei here of my fathers announcement to the public. For a bodyguard. Honestly."
<CounterBeard> An older man grins, almost toothlessly at you Rock. "Boy you just dun need to follow the lines afolks leavin here! S'anice little hosue innamiddle of town."
<Alexei> "For bodyguard? Hm...best not let comrade Rock know. He is not understand how be bodyguard. Think job require kill comrade's pokemon."

* Rock walks up the line, joining Tentra and Alexei. "You too are doing the guardian job too?"

<CounterBeard> Savage walks by a few bakeries but they are unopen and have no delishus smells yet.
<Tentra> "We thought our place in this was to evaluate the guards?"

<Rock> "...why would I..." Rock shakes his hand. "Anyways, I might as well apply. I need money for a boat out."

<Tentra> "It appears the family patriarch has accelerated the process a bit..." she says, pointing toward the line, as she tries to get some of the booze off herself.
<Alexei> Gin the alcoholic butterfree flaps by and lands on Tentra, (helpfully?) sucking some of the booze out of her clothes with his proboscis.
<CounterBeard> Savage. You smell...What is that smell. Sorta sweet. Sorta tangy. Is it a tart? Is it Sweet breads? Ohgodmaybe zinnamon roll. Your nose leads you down some side streets until you see a someone eating something.
<Tentra> She looks kinda horrified. D:
<Tentra> "whatishedoing."
<CounterBeard> Gin removes all of the offending booze. None for Alexei. None.
<Rock> "...maybe I should train you so you can be bigger." Rock pats Biter's head.
<Savage> Oh god that smells good.  Savage practically charges down, bringing his buddies with him for breakfast oh boy oh boy

<Alexei> "Gin! I am already give you first bottle of booze from hotel! Now what? Will have to feign break leg and go to hospital for steal rubbing alcohol for drink."
<Rock> "...but I can't ride you to the ocean, can I?"

<CounterBeard> Savage runs down poor little Linsdsey as she eats some sort of poffin.
<Rock> "Exactly."
* Rock waves to Alexxei and Rikala as he sets off to an open area. "Alright, let's get some training done."

<CounterBeard> "Aiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaa."
<CounterBeard> (Tentra is the new rika)
<Savage> "Woah!" Oh jeez Savage pretty much trips himself up to bring himself to a stop comically, spilling all over with his Companions.  Then he looks up with a grin.  "Oh!  Hey there!"
<Tentra> She sorta shudders, and just looks toward the mansion. "So..what do you suppose he has in mind for us with this guard recruitment?"
<Alexei> "We will help judge guard candidate, just like judge gym leader. Hm. Will need more drink for this. Maybe Doug can offer early paycheck."
<CounterBeard> Tessy is flung from Savages pocket to land directly onto the poffin. Lindsey sorta freezes before giggling and offering a bite to the spider. "Hi again Mr. Savage."
<CounterBeard> James at this point sort of just stares at you three. "Right...Well lets come inside to discuss this all then."
<Tentra> "...how do we do that, the evaluation?"
<Tentra> "Combat?"
* Alexei shrugs and follows James. "I am create test of fabulousness~"
* Savage picks himself up off the ground, ignoring a few scrapes and such accumulated.  "That smells so good, where'd you get it?"
* Rock has already left by then. He goes out to the nearest... park or dojo or some place like it, taking along Biter.
<Tentra> She shakes her head, confused, and follows.
<CounterBeard> "Oh this? My friends mom makes them!" She splits it in half and offers you some Savage.
<Alexei> (mfw you let the perpetual drunk and the gal with no idea how the world works handle all the plot stuff)

<Savage> "Thank you~!" Savage grins and takes it, passing some to his own little buddies before taking a bite ohhhh man that's good poffin.  Savage's cute stat is increased!  "So, how's the day?"
<Alexei> "...She is run away? Why? And how is contest supposed to help find?"
<CounterBeard> "Uh, good. Just um. Going out into the caves and stuff. Exploring. Sorta."
<CounterBeard> "Mostly the plan was to distract the towns folk as to not cause mass panic and witch hunts. It seems some of them have already heard of those that would do harm to her."
<Savage> "Really?  You want a hand?" Savage grins between bites.  "It'd probably be more interesting than whatever I was going to do today."
* Rock looks at Biter as he stops at the park. "Alright, Biter. We should have done this a long time ago." Rock puts up his fists, getting ready. "Alright, Biter, let's see how much stronger you've gotten."
<CounterBeard> James turns to Tentra and Alexei "Ever seen what a mob can do to some one who they think may have harmed a child?"
<CounterBeard> <What? I-I don't want to fight you!>
<Rock> "...then how do you want to train, then."
<Alexei> "I am think is best talk to your father now. But I am not have enough drink for understand right now. ...Do you have mouthwash can borrow?"
<Tentra> "No," she says confused.
<CounterBeard> "Uh, well..Maybe. Grandpa said he did it alone. But mom had an 'honor' guard...."
<CounterBeard> Lindsey sorta fidgest with what is left of her poffin.
<Alexei> "I am see what mob do when someone is cut in line in cold Sinnoh weather for get daily bread and soup. Go to work camp to count tree would be better fate. Maybe what you say is similar?"
<Savage> "...?" Savage headtilts a little; even he can tell something's going on.  "Something up, Lindsey?"
<CounterBeard> "Sounds about right sir. It can be rather bad Ms. Tentra. And sadly I am unsure if we have any that would suit you Mr. Alexei. All bubblegum flavor. Follow me though to my fathers room." James heads off deeper into the house.
<Tentra> "...The higher order had a fairly frightening way of punishing those who lost a book, or returned it late."
<CounterBeard> <Well. I don't know. I don't really want to fight my friends though. That jsut seems wrong.>
<Alexei> "Flavor is not matter. Is have high alcohol content? Or maybe have rubbing alcohol. Will also do."
<Rock> "...okay, then. Here, let's go back to the ocean, okay? I'm getting hungry myself." Rock drops his stance and heads to the docks.

<Savage> He pauses for a moment, then smiles.  "Don't worry.  I won't be going as 'official business to protect you' or anything," Savage tries to huff himself up and sound important.  "We'll go as friends, how's that sound?"

<CounterBeard> "Yeah! That would be fun. This'll be my first time meeting Him! Grandpa told me a lot about him though." Lindsey start walking at a slow pace toward the south side of town.
<CounterBeard> As you enter the room Lindon smiles sitting up in his bed. "After this morning Alexei we could all use a drink."
<Savage> "Him?  Is there someone awesome in the caves?" Savage is clearly getting excited, picking his Companions back up to go with her.
<Alexei> "...Then we will have drink." Alexei rushes out of the room toward the kitchen. There has to at least be some god damned rubbing alcohol here. He grabs juice out of the fridge if there is any as a mixer.
* Rock walks over to the docks, sitting down on the dock farthest from the town. "Hm... do you see any fishes out here, Biter?"
<CounterBeard> Biter plops down next to Rock. <Maybe...I think there are some like the ones we found yesterday.>
<Rock> "Hm... they're not protected, right?"
<Tentra> Tentra watches, mortified, as Alexei does this, and just stares, along with LA and AEGIS.
<CounterBeard> Alexei you sadly do not find any...But when you return Lindon has two snifters out filled with an amber liquid.
<Alexei> (aww I can't imbibe some rubbing alcohol instead? :<)
<CounterBeard> (No. No rushing to hospital.)
<Alexei> (Fine~)
* Alexei returns with a devastated look on his face. "Am not even find rubbing al- is that can make me drunk?" he points at the liquid.
<CounterBeard> "If the lord is willing yes."
* Alexei snatches one up and downs it in a gulp.
<Rock> Rock takes out his new harpoon and watches the water, striking when he sees a non-Corsola Pokemon.
<CounterBeard> "Well...Grandpa says he found him out in the middle of the ocean. Got into a big fight, lasted a whooole week. Not sure if that is true. But he also said it was because of him he was able to build reeftown. The cities 'Patron' I think he called it one time."

<CounterBeard> It is a fairly soothing burn Alexei. it hits the center of your belly and you can feel the warm start to burn into the rest of you.

<CounterBeard> The harpoon goes deeeep into the water. A little bit of blood stains the water.
<Savage> "A patron, huhn?  ...You don't mean, like, a giant Corsola or something, do you?" he sounds like he'd be pretty excited if that were the case.
* Rock dives under, checking to see the status of what he goes.

<Tentra> "Sir...reguarding the test, what is it you wish us to exactly doto assist you with it?"
<CounterBeard> This close to town the water is a bit murky but you think you can see the long body of a remoraid darting away. Your harpoon sinking deeper into the water.
* Rock swims closer to the harpoon, grabbing for it.
<CounterBeard> "The test? Ah, right. I shall over watch the test. I would like you all to find my granddaughter. It seems she is going off to try something stupid."
<CounterBeard> You just manage to grab the harpoon as the fishie swims away.
<Alexei> "What do you think she is try?"
* Rock checks the harpoon... did it spear any fish?
<CounterBeard> It has some fishmeats on it but no whole fishes.
<Rock> "..." Rock swims back up to Biter, grabbing on to the dock. "Biter, can you fish me something?"
<CounterBeard> "She plans to go and contract the same thing I did. And her mother tried to do. The being that allowed me to build reeftown."
<Alexei> "Being? Is giant fabulous coral?"
<Tentra> "Is it a giant Cors-"
<CounterBeard> He grins. "Not exactly."
<CounterBeard> Biter nods and then dives into the water <I'll try for a big one!>
<CounterBeard> Savage and Lindsey eventually reach the same cove he slept in. "Uh, can you swim?"
<Rock> "Thanks."
<Savage> "Yeah," Savage nods.  "I used to go swimming in the river a lot.  Though..." he rubs the back of his neck a little in embarassment, not quite following it up.
<Tentra> "Well then we should head to the home of this being?"
<CounterBeard> "If you can find it yes. I am in no shape to show you the way, and sadly James has no idea where it is. I can try and make a rough map but much of it is underwater."
<Alexei> "What is mean contract being? What happened to Linday's mother? I remember last time friend made contract. Man in black suit carry large gun go to house, tell him government want him 'sign contract'. Go back next day, Sinnoh government is take his house! Hope is not that kind of contract."
<Alexei> (ooh ooh CAN WE RIDE IN A MILOTIC'S MOUTH UNDERWATER?)
<CounterBeard> Lindsey nods, and grabs the styler at her belt before diving down.

* Rock goes down in the water after a while, looking for Biter.
<Savage> "Wait, how far--..." Savage turns back to his companions.  "Well... guess I'd better go after her!  If you don't think you can handle a swim you might wanna stay here, okay?"
<CounterBeard> "Well. As I wasn't to inherit for a while I joined the Costal Rangers. I met something in my duties a long time ago. We made a bit of a pact. After I was thrown out of court I came back out to see. It helped me make this whole town.:
<CounterBeard> Wotter seems all the ready to go. Berry and Tessy are a little eeeeeh and Zenhat is Zen Mode.
<Alexei> "What is legendary beast? Is fabulous? Can it teach Niko be even more best fish?"
* Rock looks around... where's Biter?
<Savage> Of course Zentret is fine with it, he could probably go monk-style and become bloody immune to needing to breathe or something.  "Alright, you two can stay here.  I won't be long, promise!" he pats both Gabbery and Tessy, and then goes for a dive with Wotter!
<CounterBeard> Biter seems to have gone missing! Where the hill did the little gatr go?
<Rock> "..." Rock goes deeper, looking around for Biter.
<CounterBeard> Tessy launches a string to around Savages hand before he leaves. "Joooolt"
<Tentra> "Something akin to a god."
<Alexei> "...God of fabulous?" Alexei flicks his grey old man hair and strikes a pose, as if to demonstrate the concept.
<Tentra> She has no answer, and just blinks in disbelief.
<CounterBeard> "Aahah, more akin to a god of the sea. Master of Tides all that sort of stuff."
<Alexei> "Or god of booze?" he gestures at the empty cup.
* Rock takes another look around... okay, seriously, where is he?
<CounterBeard> "That my friend would be me." Lindon pours more booze for alexei.
<CounterBeard> Biter tugs on rocks arm from behind. < all the fishes left...There is somthing over near the boats that keeps scaring them...Or eating them.>
<Alexei> "You are have true wisdom." Alexei gladly takes the booze.
<Rock> <Hm? Why don't we check it out?> Rock goes up to the surface for a breather before going back down. <So, where is it?>
<CounterBeard> "You seem to have a better grasp as to what she is attempting Ms. Tentra."
<Tentra> "Vaguely, yes."
<CounterBeard> Lindsey and Savage come to an air pocket both gasping for air. "You doing okay? Should only bee a little farther! It is no nice down here!"
<CounterBeard> "Then you understand that for a girl her age this is all but suicide?"
<Rock> <Biter, where's the thing that's scaring them?>
<Alexei> "Fine, then Tentra is lead way. Can we have booze for trip? She is vodka mage and is need for power her spells."
<Savage> "Yeah, I think I'm fine..." Savage pants a little, though there's a frown on his face.  "This water... really doesn't feel so great for some reason..."
<Tentra> She muses. "We can't imagine she has the experiences to encourage a diety to become her patron, no."
<Tentra> "Alexi what are you -" she gives up and sighs. "You mentioned a map, sir?"

<CounterBeard> The seven points of light rise in an orb of water, four amorphous limbs eventually form out of it. The whole body never seems to stay in a single shape for very long always crashing and recceding even within itself. It stands there watching you Savage.
