[18:45] <Champion> The Empire State Building burns. The city is illuminated by flames, a yellow glow filling the city streets. Rogue I beams fall to the asphalt below, pelting any vehicle unlucky enough to be caught underneath. Pillars of smoke rise to the heavens, intermingling and combining into a single tower that looks like an extension to the ruined building.
[18:45] <Champion> Inside the command center, main power conduits lose energy. Their supplies are cut off, as lines running through the building above are cut off. Combined with the draining effect from the Angel, massive blackouts occur through out the base. Monitors and video  screens flicker, the first line to fall in case of a power emergency. The Magi connection flickers for a moment, before stabilizing
[18:45] <Champion> as the massive super computer redistributes power.
[18:47] <Champion> "Oh, what a marvelous display," Faust states with a shallow grin as the light inside switch between on and off. There are screams on the command center, and even Leon has to reconsider being in the dark with the doctor.
[18:50] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Continue talking doctor. I want to know where you are. Thorp: comms still up with the pilots?"
[18:53] <Champion> The lights inside settle on for a moment, and the sounds of rapid fire typing fill the command center. "I'm. Working. On. It," he grunts out, equally frustrated and focused on the task at hand. "-There!" Throp shouts out, as communication screen return on the main display.
[18:54] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Excellent. Make sure those guns aren't stalled in the elevator: the team needs their equipment."
[18:55] <Champion> "Yes sir, there' be there in less than a minute," Thorp replies offhandly, his focus now somewhere else as he tries to keep the command base functioning.
[18:58] * Leon_Raczkowski then moves forward to speak to the pilots: "Tania, continue neutralizing. We're forwarding targeting to you so you can show that ugly bastard whose house they just fucked with. Jack: follow Tania's lead and start neutralizing the crystals...god knows you're probably standing in a pile of them by this point. As for you Anto, get moving to the supply cache. The guns are nearly up, then
[18:58] * Leon_Raczkowski I want you sniping this thing."
[19:00] <Tania_Clarke> "..."
[19:01] * Tania_Clarke draws a trembling breath.
[19:03] <Champion> In the command center, Sub-Commander Clarke approachs the view screen. "Tania, are you there?" he asks softly.
[19:03] <Tania_Clarke> "...hm!"
[19:04] <Tania_Clarke> "It- it..."
[19:05] <Champion> "That thing may have destroyed our home, but it's alright. I believe in you, so focus on the task at hand, and murderize that son of bitch, alright sweety?" Clarke says simply. There's a grim, determined look on his face, and despite his sugar laiden words he is as stoic as ever.
[19:06] <Tania_Clarke> "...hah... yes."
[19:07] * Tania_Clarke grits her teeth, and Eva 01 commences full auto fire on the enemy.
[19:12] <Champion> A hail of bullets are unleashed from Eva 01's gun, but it is all for naught. A still powerful AT field flickers into existance, and protects the glowing ball of lighy from harm.
[19:12] <Tania_Clarke> "You!" The girl yells out in frustration.
[19:13] <Tania_Clarke> "02, neutralize his field!"
[19:14] * Leon_Raczkowski continues monitoring the battlefield, and leans into comms to add: "What she said."
[19:14] * Jack_Murdock focuses his neutralizing power at the shards that lay about the area, 'Really? I guess I could.' he replies sarcastically to Tania before firing off a shot of his own at the monster
[19:15] <Champion> Jack doesn't have time to focus, as ayet another beam of colored light rains down from the heavens.
[19:35] <Champion> Before the boy solider can focus on reducing the Angel, Tania suffers the full onslaught of a suddenly accurate Angel. The beam rips through her wounded leg, vaporizing it. The metal on the evangelion is super heated, and the wound is cauterized, though a sudden burst of pain is still relayed to the pilot. Steam rises from the wound, as Eva 01 falls down on the rooftop of the building.
[19:36] * Tania_Clarke reels in shock inside the entry plug.
[19:36] <Leon_Raczkowski> "God da-- Holley cut synch to reduce feedback!"
[19:37] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Tania: You alive?"
[19:37] <Champion> "Tania!" Clarke gasps suddenly, fury filling his face. Unfortunately, for Leon, Holley isn't there, and some unlucky aid has to try to fill in for her. It isn't enough though, obviously.
[19:41] * Tania_Clarke gasps for the liquid medium that passes for air while piloting.
[19:41] <Tania_Clarke> "S... yes. Of course..."
[19:42] <Jack_Murdock> "The Girl's down Captain, any change in orders?"
[19:43] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...Start neutralizing. And I want that thing full of holes in the next fifteen minutes."
[19:46] * Jack_Murdock refocuses on neutralizing the enemy's AT field, using the shards scattered about
[19:47] <Jack_Murdock> "I don't think that shooting at it right now will do much, sir."
[19:47] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Step 2."
[19:48] * Leon_Raczkowski taps Thorp's shoulder. "I'm banking on them neutralizing that thing's AT field soon. Get some tanks into position."
[19:49] <Champion> The shards at Jack's feet don't seem to carry the AT field well enough; they're too broken to channel it seems.
[19:58] * Leon_Raczkowski notices Jack looking for crystals and speaks: "Check the wreckage of that building you jumped from. There looks to be a large enough shard there to neutralize."
[19:59] <Jack_Murdock> "Yes, sir." He focuses on the shard that still lay in the ruined building beside him
[20:01] <Champion> The Angel doesn't seem to enjoy the treatment, and turns it's fury down upon Jack. Once more, a beam of light strikes at Jack.
[20:06] <Champion> Jack is struck in the back, the metal armor melting from the intensity. Thankfully, even with light weight chassis of unit 02 is able to take most of the hit. The boy is stunned inside his plug, struggling against the pain.
[20:08] * Jack_Murdock starts to yell a bit in german as a searing pain digs into his back
[20:08] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Hol--"
[20:08] * Leon_Raczkowski turns and sees his familiar bridge mate is gone.
[20:09] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Thorp, what's the status on Unit 02? Jack, you alive?"
[20:10] <Jack_Murdock> "Shut it!" he shouts with a growl as he tries to reach back to hold the point of pain
[20:10] <Champion> "First degree burns from overheated LCL on multiple areas of the first Child's body!" Smith reports her voice aggrivated.
[20:11] * Leon_Raczkowski narrows his eyes at that.
[20:14] <Champion> "Oooooohhh~! I have some thing's that might help him with those sick burns," Faust volunteers, a sick sort of glee plastered on his face. It's the look of a ravenous wolf, ready to devour a rabbit's young.
[20:14] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...What do you have in mind."
[20:15] <Champion> Smith glares at him, and retorts with barely any tremble in her voice, "Not a chance, doctor Izuna will see to him!"
[20:18] <Champion> Anto, at the supply port, is forced to wait as the weapons finally arrive. The port opening retracts, revealing Anto's gun, and an entirely new weapon. Comapact, and meant to be braced against the shoulder judging from the brace built in, the weapon has various warnings labeled upon it. It looks slightly unstable, and likely to fall apart after being fired. Faust turns his attention from
[20:18] <Champion> Jack's health to the communication's moniter, his eyes lighting up at the sight of it. The doctor holds his arms out wide, as he spins on the tip of his foot and announces. "There it is, the Positron Rifle MK I!"
[20:20] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Posi-what?"
[20:21] <Leon_Raczkowski> "It...I thought we barely had that stuff on paper?"
[20:21] <Anto_Belac> "Posi-- tron?" He slings the battle rifle onto 00's back as he turns to face the other pilots on his viewscreen.
[20:22] <Anto_Belac> "Tania!" He yells as the Eva grasps the new rifle with both hands. "Can you fire this thing?!"
[20:22] <Anto_Belac> *still fire
[20:22] <Champion> "In theory, it should blow right through an Angel's At field! My gift to you, mein kind," Faust says to Tania on through the screen. The doctor spins to look at Leon. There's a smirk on his face, and Leon's urge to punch him barely loses out to his fear of the man.
[20:24] * Tania_Clarke slowly looks up to Faust on the viewscreen, then glares at Anto.
[20:24] <Tania_Clarke> "I can still fight."
[20:26] <Champion> Leaning into Leon's personal space, the tall blonde locks eyes with the Operations director. There's something, fundamentally offin the taller man's eyes. In a low whisper, Faust says, "I have many secret projects in my lab, many that you don't know about. Many you don't want to know about."
[20:27] * Anto_Belac turns in place and faces the other pilots. He inhales deeply and braces his - and 00's - bodies.
[20:32] <Leon_Raczkowski> "And I won't ever ask about them."
[20:33] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Anto, deliever that rifle to Tania so she can have some firepower, and prepare to start neutralizing the crystals and firing. The biggest ones are by Tania and Jack's building."
[20:36] <Champion> "Leon," the sub-commander starts, turning to the man in question. "I'm getting the boy's in Washington on the line. If this doesn't work, I'm calling down a damn N2 strike," he growls out, voice low and dangerous. "And that might make Kennedy look bad, and it'll be your ass on the line."
[20:41] <Leon_Raczkowski> "And all that's keeping that thing from being a stain on the streets is a goofy alien forcefield thats about to fail."
[20:41] * Leon_Raczkowski looks back as confident as he can.
[20:52] <Champion> "Sir, tank squadrons will soon arrive in the city! Conventional air support isn't possible yet though," Thorp announces.
[20:54] <Leon_Raczkowski> "If only we had gotten that reciever...tell the squadrons to stand by until I give the order. Once that thing's AT field is down we're going to hit it with everything."
[20:55] <Champion> The Angel is still displeased, but has apparently settled it's anger by now. Moving directly over the burning empire state building, the angel is almost englufed by smoke, though the pink glow clearly outlines it. Then, a gigantic hexagonal crystal strikes the ground in front of the building, striking deep into the street. Half buried, it seems inert, until a pink light falls from the angel,
[20:55] <Champion> and seems to empower the crystal. Slowly, it begins to descend, digging through the street like a a drill.
[20:55] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...hah."
[20:57] <Champion> "Well, now, that's new," Faust announces, his smile slipping. He immediately regains it though, and says, "I bet I could come up with all sorts of drills now that I think about it...."

[20:59] <Champion> It begins to rotate, and digging up the street, and plunging into the armored layers of NERV below. Various technicians in the command center shout, relaying new information as it comes it. The light's flickers again, several important underground power cords being destroyed.
[20:59] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...hah."
[21:10] * Anto_Belac jumps at the sound of the drills and rockets off toward Tania. "Taketheguntaketheguntaketheguntakethegun!"
[21:19] * Leon_Raczkowski continues watching the screen, all too aware that this mission now has a very short time limit.
[21:19] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Anto, doubletime."
[21:28] <Tania_Clarke> Discarding its current weapon, Unit 01 pushes itself with its arms and remaining leg, dropping down from the building and within reach of Unit 00, somehow managing a knelt position despite the lack of a lower limb.
[21:29] * Tania_Clarke takes the prototype weapon from 02's hands, and stares at it for second before readying it.
[21:32] <Champion> The Angel seems content to ignore this new threat, and continues to drill into Manhattan's underground. "Shit," Thorp curses at his control center. The head of cummonucation swivels around in his seat to face Leon, his face grim. "Sir! That damn thing's drill is nearly to the civilian shelter!"
[21:37] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...how much longer until it drills inside."
[21:40] <Champion> "Not much longer, about a minute or so!" Thorp exclaims, his fear at the prospect obvious for all to see. "Damn it," he grunts, slamming a fist down on desk.
[21:40] <Leon_Raczkowski> "And how much longer until it drills to us?"
[21:42] <Champion> "We're pretty deep, I'd say an hour or two. Can't be sure with the mother fuckign AT field."
[21:48] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...Attention all Eva pilots: It has come to my attention that this thing has pulled out all the stops against us and has us in a tough position, so we will respond in kind. Everyone manuever into position and neutralize ONLY on my order. We're going to hit it all at once with a one-two punch."
[21:48] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Thorp, if those tanks aren't in position, tell them they better hurry unless they want to be nuked."
[21:48] <Jack_Murdock> "Yes, Captain." he responds, standing in position and waiting

[21:49] <Champion> "Yes sir! I just hope that son of a bitch fries," Thorp responds. There's a determined look on his face, and his authorative voice can be heard through out the command center as he shouts orders.

[21:59] * Anto_Belac exhales and inhales repeatedly, bordering on hyperventilation as he grabs his rifle from its rack and steels his mind for battle.
[21:59] <Champion> "The tank squadrons have arrived sir!" Thorp announces, before reutrning to his duties. He seems to be in the middle of trying to evacuate the civilians and relocate them to lower based shelters, but he needs more time.
[22:00] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Put me in direct contact with them, you focus on evacuating the citizens."
[22:01] <Champion> Thorp nods in acknowledgement, before patching you through to the tank squadrons.
[22:02] * Leon_Raczkowski moves to speak with the tank squadron commanders: "This is Captain Raczkowski. In a few moments the enemies defenses will be down. I'll give the order to shoot then and only then. Do not engage the enemy as it has reactive offensive capabilities."
[22:04] <Champion> "Yeees sir!" the tank commander responds, witha noticeable southern drawl.
[22:08] <Tania_Clarke> Unit 01 braces itself against the building, ready to commence attack.
[22:09] <Tania_Clarke> "Sir?" she says between her teeth.
[22:11] * Leon_Raczkowski opens comms with the pilots: "Is everyone in position?"
[22:11] <Jack_Murdock> "Yes."
[22:12] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Anto?"
[22:12] * Anto_Belac shivers and nods.
[22:13] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Begin neutralizing the angel, and then open fire."
[22:14] * Jack_Murdock begins to focus once again on neutralizing the shard that lays in the building's ruins
[22:15] * Leon_Raczkowski switches over to the commander of the tank squadron: "Prepare to open fire. On my mark..."
[22:15] * Anto_Belac squeaks, "Do the impossible!" He shoves his mind against the shard's AT field.
[22:15] * Tania_Clarke focuses the full weight of 01's AT field on the nearby crystal.

[22:17] <Champion> A terrible shriek fills the night sky, cutting like a dagger. Through out the city, windows shatter, and several people in the upper levels of NERV hq fall to the ground clutching their ears. A radiant light falls down, focusing on Jack, the first to try to reduce it's AT field.
[22:18] * Leon_Raczkowski issues orders just as the angel reacts: "...Mark!"
[22:18] <Champion> The light rips into the building Jack rests on, and tears through the support beam. Slowly, the building begins to collapse.

[22:23] <Tania_Clarke> "...take thi- Eh?!" looks on in surprise as the prototype rifle fizzles and begins pouring smoke.
[22:25] <Champion> Tank squadron rounds fire at the angel, the pink aura providing a prime target. However, the attacks do nothing, the creature's natural toughness cancelling out any damage.
[22:30] <Champion> In response, the creature lets loose a wide, sweeping beam of pink light. An entire squadron is destroyed. "The drill's stopped sir!" Thorp announces, the only good news out of the whole affair.
[22:34] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...Pilots, prepare for another round. Continue neutralizing and firing. Be mindful of it's counterattacks."
[22:34] * Jack_Murdock pulls back on the trigger and sends yet another set of shots at the angel
[22:34] * Leon_Raczkowski turns back to Faust: "Your gun broke."
[22:35] <Champion> A twitch, developes in Faust's right eye. Bad things are going to happen to good people.
[22:41] <Champion> The bullets pierce throught the Angel's AT field like it wasn't even there. The creatures screams a banshee wail in torment. From high above, it begins to rain blood on the evangelion's below.
[22:49] * Anto_Belac blinks, then yells in an uncharacteristically gruff tone, "s-Split Your Lungs With Blood And Thunder!!"
[22:50] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Is that Mastadon?"
[22:50] * Leon_Raczkowski turns to Thorp: "Is that Mastadon?"
[22:50] <Leon_Raczkowski> "When did he learn Mastadon lyrics?"
[22:51] <Champion> "I think it's Mastadon," Thorp replies.
[22:51] <Champion> "What did you do to him?"
[22:51] * Anto_Belac depresses the trigger and doesn't ever stop firing as his brain searches for more things he's heard come from Leon's room. "o-Out Of The Night Comes a Song That I know!!"
[22:51] <Leon_Raczkowski> "I have no fucking clue."
[22:56] <Champion> A sickening crunch can be heard, the sound of metal striking a wierd, alien material. It just sounds wrong.The Angel screams in pain and agony, and tries to ascend, and escape.
[22:57] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...Well, now it's trying to run. Tania, is that rifle completely out of commission?"
[22:57] <Tania_Clarke> "...appears so."
[23:04] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Alright. We're sending up a rifle, if the lifts haven't already been damaged. Jack: We're forwarding targeting data to you, and you're going to keep up the heat. Every keep neutralizing...it's starting to hurt."
[23:09] <Jack_Murdock> "I won't let it get away."
[23:10] <Tania_Clarke> Unit 01 rises up and begins hobbling on one leg towards the flaming, gore covered ruins of the Empire State Building, and the supply lift besides it.
[23:12] * Escavel has quit (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
[23:13] <Champion> Rising higher, The Angel appears to be ascending towards the heavens. In not much longer, the Angel will be out of range.
[23:15] * Jack_Murdock fires once again at the angel as it tries to escape
[23:17] <Champion> The bullets shred the target, but the Angel miraculously survives. Not for long however, as the pink glow turns red, and begins to licker in intensity.
[23:17] <Champion> Upward movement ceasing, it instead begins to fall.
[23:18] <Jack_Murdock> "Ha! Yeah, you'd better come back."
[23:19] <Tania_Clarke> "Is it going to explode too?!"
[23:19] <Leon_Raczkowski> "That's what I'm worried about...Thorp, try to get some readings on it. Doctor, what's your opinion?"
[23:20] <Champion> Faust has a wide grin on his face, a look of child like wonder. "I think it's gonna go boom!"
[23:21] * Leon_Raczkowski opens comms with the pilots: "Keep shooting. It's probably going to explode, and better in the sky than on the ground."
[23:22] <Anto_Belac> "We built this city --"
[23:22] * Anto_Belac gauges his next shot.
[23:23] <Anto_Belac> " -- On rock and roll!" *ratatatatatatatata*
[23:24] <Champion> The attacks are as effective as Anto's one lines- that is to say, not at all. Bounce of the creature, as it continues to fall.
[23:27] <Champion> Tanks fire bounces off the Angel's defenses, completely worthless against the creature.
[23:27] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...alright. Thorp, send Jack some targeting data for it's fall."
[23:32] <Champion> The blinking goes on, and increases with frequency as the Angel descends. Just at it becomes a strobe light of sorts, the Angels ceases to fall. A single red glow fills the sky, and for a moment nothing. The peace doesn't last, as the Angel explodes in a blast of blinging white light, a cross rising into the skies.
[23:33] <Leon_Raczkowski> "...or perhaps not."
[23:34] <Champion> The Empire State building is enveloped, and though the evangelions are safe down on the ground, they might not wish they were. Most of the building is gone, anything from above fifeen stories gone.
[23:36] * Tania_Clarke looks on coldly as the remnants of her destroyed home disappear completely, engulfed by the light.
[23:37] <Anto_Belac> 00 tumbles ass-over-head and comes to rest in a sitting position as Anto dizzily floats back into his seat. He blinks, recovers from the flash, and stares at where the tower used to stand.
[23:37] <Jack_Murdock> "Piece of crap thought it'd try and run away from me." he says proudly before the shockwave knocks him off of the already crumbling building
[23:37] <Anto_Belac> "L-life times spent o-on the streets of the city," he lowers his rifle as his hands start to shake, "m-make us the people we aaaaaarrreee..."
[23:37] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Anto please stop singing."
[23:38] <Anto_Belac> "B-But I thought you'd --" Anto hangs his head and rubs his eyes.
[23:39] <Leon_Raczkowski> "Not now."
[23:39] * Tania_Clarke shuts off outside communications, and lets herself float in the LCL, eyes closed.
[23:39] <Anto_Belac> "Sorry," he murmurs.
