  1. Writers note: This is not a spinoff of slender man, or anything else. I dreamed this whole scenario.
  2.
  3. My name is Bentley, I'm a photographer for Time magazine. I've traveled the world, snapping some of the best cultural photos imaginable. All that ended when I got stuck in these woods, back in 1996. I've lost track of time now so I won't be able to tell you when I wrote this, or if I'm still here. What I can tell you though is how I got stuck here. So let's start from the beginning.
  4.
  5. I was at my home in the Bronx and was packing my bags getting ready for a trip to Africa the next day. They were sending me somewhere in Ethiopia, which was perfectly fine with me, at the time. After stuffing my bags to the top, and packing all my camera gear, I headed to bed. Boy, was I eager to fly to Africa, I hardly got any sleep that night.
  6.
  7. Little did I know, that would be the last time I would ever get any rest.
  8.
  9. The next morning, I woke up and drove straight to the airport to catch my plane. After a few boring hours had passed, I finally made it. The plane was forced to make a rough landing on a runway made of dirt.
  10.
  11. I stepped out of the plane, camera around neck, and analyzed my surroundings. As the plane flew away, I realized I was surrounded by woods, with the exception of a few paths leading into trails and a skimpy airport building that needed to be rebuilt more than it needed a new paint job.
  12.
  13. One path struck my attention more than anything though, its pathway into the woods were outlined, with bones. After taking a few photos, I began trekking down it, feeling uneasy as each step I took caused the sound of bones to crack under my feet.
  14.
  15. I was already knee-deep into the woods. and could see an old worn down wooden stadium deep in the midst. I decided to go there first. When I approached the front of it, there were a group of five teenagers all sitting at the very top. I was a bit surprised to say the least. I waved and took a few photos before I went on my way and kept walking.
  16.
  17. The further I went down the path, the weirder things got. The next landmark I came across was a wooden house, which looked abandoned. All the windows were busted and the doors were

  19. removed. When I went inside, it looked like any typical abandoned building, graffiti, dirty mattress, there was even a condom on the floor. I kneeled down to set up a good shot of the inside and
  20.
  21. that's when I heard it, muffled breathing was coming from behind me in the doorway. When I turned around to look, it was gone. I snapped one photo before getting out of there as fast as possible.
  22.
  23. My first thought was that those teenagers where pulling a prank on me, now that I think about it, I wish it was.
  24.
  25. The deeper I manage to go in the woods, the further away the trees became. The sun was getting ready to set and I was about to turn around and head back, and then I heard it again. Muffled breathing was coming from behind one of the trees. My heart began racing. My body was preparing its self to run.
  26.
  27. Before I could even turn around, I saw it in my peripheral vision, running behind another tree. My heart skipped a beat and that's when I started running for my life. I dropped my camera and ran.
  28.
  29. Running as fast as I possibly could, I didn't dare look back. I could hear galloping. Something was right behind me. It then raced past me on all fours, making me stop in my tracks and stare. It looked human, but that wasn't possible...how...did it crawl so fast like that?
  30. [[File:Figure.jpg|thumb|241x241px]]
  31. It stopped and stood up a few feet in front of me, laughing intently at my frightened face. It was wearing a full body suit made of knitted cloth, and its face, dear god, it sent shivers down my spine
  32.
  33. when I saw there were bits of human flesh sewn onto it, making up a spitting image of a humans face. I didn't know what was real anymore at this point.
  34.
  35. In the blink of an eye, it crawled on all fours and made its way terrifyingly closer. We were now nose to nose. It began letting out an ear cringing hiss as it shook its head at unimaginable ways. Fear began consuming me. No matter how much I tried, ''I could not move''. The suit began tearing itself off and floating in a ghoulish manner revealing its true identity. It was human. His body was shriveled and his grayish skin folded over his bones, his eyes sockets were rotting black and he had no teeth at all. That was the last thing I could remember before passing out.
  36.
  37.
  38.
  39. These moments will be burned into my skull for ever...and ever......and ever.
