  2. Azura: Oh… Kamui. Is something the matter?
  3. Kamui: Ah… Azura. I was looking for you. But… have I interrupted your song?
  4. Azura: No, you’re fine. What business do you have with me?
  5. Kamui: Yes, well. There’s something I want to try talking to you about.
  6. Azura: What exactly…?
  7. Kamui: Despite being the prince of Hoshido, I was raised in Nohr. And despite being the princess of Nohr, you grew up in Hoshido… I thought of how people so involved in two large nations such as Hoshido and Nohr were put in the nation where the other was absent.
  8. Azura: Yes, that certainly happened.
  9. Kamui: I think, because of that… those two were able to think broadly about their countries and the world. I wanted to discuss that with you a little.
  10. Azura: I see… that could be good. It could lead to a fresh perspective of sorts.
  11. Kamui: Thanks, Azura. Then first off, let’s consider Hoshido. …The kingdom of Hoshido may as well be called the kingdom of light. The climate is warm, bright, and abundant with natural life. It’s surrounded by fertile soil, which allows plenty of crops to grow.
  12. Azura: The hearts of the people living there are also calm and gentle. Everyone is kind, and honors ethics.
  13. Kamui: Yes. And since ancient times, on numerous occasions, the kingdom of Nohr has threatened to invade them…
  14. Azura: Nohr certainly has the villain role down. It’s safe to call Hoshido the victim here.
  15. Kamui: That definitely held true in the past, but… shall we think about it a little more? From another frame of mind, as it were…
  16. Azura: Eh… a different frame of mind…? … I see. Not everyone thinks of it that way. If there were someone who dared to speak out… a person like ourselves who believes foremost in peace… couldn’t there be someone like that amongst Hoshido’s people? But ultimately, unless they were of able body, they would not be able to say anything lest they be forsaken by the others.
  17. Kamui: True… according to that view, you would be right, but… that’s the first time I’ve heard of someone thinking like that. Yes… to say that resolutely, would be very painful for them.
  18. Azura: My thoughts just followed the flow of the conversation. Let’s set it aside as just one possible way of thinking.
  19. Kamui: Okay. We’ll continue the conversation without committing to anything yet.

  22. Azura: Kamui. So you came here again today.
  23. Kamui: Yes, I thought we could continue our talk from the other day.
  24. Azura: I see. The next thing would be… to discuss Nohr, I imagine.
  25. Kamui. Yes. Nohr… was the country I stayed in. Twilight forests with land that hardly grew vegetation… much of the earth was covered in ice, and impoverished lands were many… or so I read in books.
  26. Azura: Yes… and as though that were a symbol, the hearts of the people living there… act in contrast to those of Hoshido. Cold, skeptical… distant… and a little aggressive.
  27. Kamui: There are kind people living there as well. In our group there are many people hailing from Nohr, and if everyone can learn to rely on them… that builds trust.
  28. Azura: Along those lines, if we can try to change their views of Nohr… I agree. … And due to Nohr’s lands becoming barren numerous times, they overran other countries. But… in a land where light does not reach, they would think that the best option, envying the light, feeling neglected… harboring dark thoughts… Hoshido is too mesmerizing in comparison, of course they would harbor ill feelings.
  29. Kamui: Two sides of the same coin… with Hoshido being the way it is, Nohr was fated to become its opposite.
  30. Azura: It’s as you say. If the result of trying to protect their own people lead them to consider invading other lands, then even with Nohr’s evil past, if they could compromise with each other, understand one another, maybe it could lead the world on a path towards peace.
  31. Kamui: Maybe… but, something exists that’s getting in the way of that happening. Right now defeating that is our top priority.
  32. Azura: Right. … Let’s continue to ponder this later.

  35. Azura: Kamui, you came to talk again today.
  36. Kamui: Yeah, though I think this will be the last time. On that note, I think the contents of this discussion will become very important. This…
  37. Azura: Kamui! Please wait! Speaking here is dangerous. Come with me. From this spring we can go to that area over there.
  38. Kamui: …!! I didn’t realize. Understood…!
  39. Azura: Keep your eyes closed… we’ll be there soon. …….
  40. Azura: … We made it.
  41. Kamui: The Invisible Kingdom… having fallen into ruin long ago, it’s a place that differs greatly from the world we live in…
  42. Azura: So you intend to talk about that country?
  43. Kamui: Yes. You wouldn’t let me talk about it over there, right?
  44. Azura: But… rather than the country itself, doesn’t the problem lie in one sole demon… their king, Hydra?
  45. Kamui: That’s right. The Invisible Kingdom’s king, Hydra… I tried to investigate his existence on my own. Hydra is… a god. He continues to live in the eras of old.
  46. Azura: Yes. A god or a demon… the perception depends on each person, the point is he holds a tremendous power, so either way works. According to the texts I’ve read, the god’s legend was written like this… In the ages of old… a god bestowed the people with power, as long as those people continued to devote their faith to him… Breaking the trust that this beneficial relationship would continue eons into the future was the humans. As the humans’ lust for power grew, they discarded their devotion, and a peaceful world was created only for mankind. Seeing the wretched humans who had forsaken their faith to him, the god’s body trembled in rage and went berserk…
  47. Kamui: And that god was Hydra?
  48. Azura: I don’t have any proof but… if it were true, the god wouldn’t randomly decide to run wild and destroy mankind. … It would be as I said, because it couldn’t forgive us.
  49. Kamui: If that’s really true… I feel a little sorry for him.
  50. Azura: I agree… for him to wake up and fight, there has to be some kind of reason. Because it was attacked, it fought back… or it holds resentment and wants revenge… based on only those feelings, it probably means we shouldn’t fight it. It doesn’t have a personal grudge against us so there is no reason to fight.
  51. Kamui: I think so too. If we could change the world by erasing everyone’s grudges, all of us could become happy… I think pondering on all of this with you was of utmost importance.
  52. Azura: Yes… now then, let us head back. It’s best if we don’t stay here too long.
  53. Kamui: Right.
  54. Azura: Now, we’ve made it back.
  55. Kamui: Yes.
  56. Azura: Kamui… thanks. We just might have come across something of incredible value.
  57. Kamui: No, it’s only because I was able to talk together with you Azura. It was probably because our similar circumstances lead us to an ideal conclusion.
  58. Azura: I guess you’re right. Right now the water’s surface reflects us as two separate figures… it’s like the two of us are reflected existences in a mirror… like this, it was probably easy for us to understand one another.
  59. Kamui: The two of us, reflections in a mirror… yes, you’re right. After this… I want to continue to treasure our bond.
  60. Azura: Of course, I do as well. Take care of me from now on, Kamui.

  63. Azura: …….
  64. Kamui: Eeh… this is… Oh crap!!
  65. Azura: ……… W-Who’s there…? Tell me, who are you!?
  66. Kamui: Ah… Azura!! I’m sorry, it’s me! I-I’m really sorry…! I didn’t know you would be bathing…!! I just came here inadvertently…
  67. Azura: Kamui… I’m putting my clothes back on now… wait a moment.
  68. Kamui: Y-Yes… I apologize. …….
  69. Azura: Sorry for the wait. It’s fine now.
  70. Kamui: Azura… I’m really sorry. But, that is… I really didn’t see anything at all!
  71. Azura: Since you can feel people’s presence before even hearing their voice, I think you had plenty of time…
  72. Kamui: T-That’s not true…! ……. N-No… that is… I was admiring you… a little.
  73. Azura: …….
  74. Kamui: It was because, your skin is so… um… clear, like water… it was beautiful.
  75. Azura: Really… peeking at a girl in the middle of her bath, you’re the worst… but… fufu. I really shouldn’t forgive you but… since you thought to compliment me, this time I’ll give you a break.
  76. Kamui: Thank you… Azura. But Azura, I kind of just realized… you really are a girl. An attractive one at that…
  77. Azura: Eeh… Kamui? W-What are you saying?
  78. Kamui: I’ve been thinking about this for awhile… the history and conflict between our countries… the secrets of the world or a just cause… or even the two of us being reflections of each other… this has nothing to do with any of that.
  79. Azura: …?
  80. Kamui: I just… treasure you, and want to protect you.
  81. Azura: … Kamui.
  82. Kamui: I said I wanted to talk to you, but it was just an excuse to be close to you.
  83. Azura: … Kamui. I feel the same.
  84. Kamui: Eh…?
  85. Azura: It was very fun talking with you. I think I would have enjoyed it no matter what we talked about…
  86. Kamui: Azura!
  87. Azura: But I do believe in it. That the two of us reflect one another like a mirror, and it was destined for us to meet…
  88. Kamui: You’re right. The two of us were able to become close thanks to chance.
  89. Azura: No matter what becomes of the world… Hoshido, Nohr, the god Hydra… even if the world becomes our enemy, I want to believe that our bond is eternal.
  90. Kamui: Yes. No matter what happens, I will not leave your side. … Even if the world turns against us, I’ll protect you.
  91. Azura: Thank you… Kamui.
  92. Kamui: I swear, here and now. Azura… we’ll always be together.
