- Hi
- Maybe You could shed some light on this question I been wondering.
- Mainly I'm concerned if there is some caveats I have not thought of.
- Or maybe I'm just too paranoid after all the mistakes I have managed to do to this age.
- I have FreeBSD machine with zfs and I have used beadm when doing updates. I have mainly used "chroot method", sort of one described by Dan Langille (https://dan.langille.org/2015/03/13/upgrading-from-freebsd-9-3-to-freebsd-10-1-using-beadm-and-freebsd-update/).
- Now I started using zfsnap to take automatic snapshots of system.
- Is there any scenario, where using both zfsnap and beadm one could shoot he's own leg?
- Like when doing new boot environment, example upgrading it, and starting to use it. Are old snapshots taken from earlier boot environment with zfsnap still usable?
- Is there some better way to deal with zfsnap and upgrades or some kind of "best practice"?
- Br. Harza
- ps. Thank's again from great show!
