- >You stir from your peaceful slumber as bright sunlight reaches your eyes.
- >Turning over to dodge the stark light, you wearily force an eye open.
- >You've dated, married and, literally, fucked the sun; you'd think it'd stop waking you up so jarringly.
- >Grumbling to yourself, you blink harshly, trying to adjust your eyes to the light.
- >You couldn't remember the last time you felt this tired.
- >If you didn't know any better, you'd swear you had fallen asleep only moments ago.
- >But the sunlight spilling in through the windows tells a different tale.
- >You guess Celestia must have gotten out of bed a while ago, raising the sun at dawn.
- >How strange that she wouldn't have woken you.
- >Then again, given how dead tired you are, perhaps she tried but failed, and opted to instead just blast your face with sunlight.
- >Well, it sure did the trick -- sometimes you fear that mare knows you too well.
- >With great difficulty, you crawl out of bed.
- >Still more asleep than awake, you shamble out of the bedroom and commence your morning routines.
- >First a quick shower, then its time for breakfast.
- >Scouring the kitchen, you are forced to settle for a bowl of Gorrila Munch.
- >You hate this crap.
- >It tastes like cardboard, and gets impossibly soggy, unbelievably quickly.
- >But after a certain incident involving a certain satyr a few weeks back, it's all the castle serves in ways of breakfast.
- >As you chew on the stale cereal, you wonder just how long you've overslept.
- >Celestia wasn't anywhere to be seen. She must have already left for the day's duties.
- >You take note of the door to Dawn's bedroom stood slightly ajar.
- >She must have already left as well.
- >Swallowing down a lump of mushed cereal, you furrow your brows; why wouldn't either of them have tried harder to wake you?
- >And, furthermore, how come you are so awfully tired?
- >It all felt a little bit too strange for comfort.
- >You hardly ever overslept.
- >In fact, you usually woke up before Celestia did.
- >It had been that way ever since the two of you started sharing a bed together.
- >You always enjoyed watching her sleep peacefully for a spell, before waking her up with a kiss.
- >It always started your day of just right.
- >Unlike today.
- >Finishing your cereal, you head back into the bedroom in search of your royal attire.
- >Stepping through the door, you come to a halt as you notice a big lump under the covers on the bed.
- >Not really sure what to expect, you move closer to inspect.
- >A wispy mane, a protruding horn and a pristinely white snout; it's Celestia alright.
- >She's fast asleep, her chest slowly rising and falling from her calm breathing.
- >Your mind draws a blank for a moment as your eyes move between your sleeping wife, and the sunlit windows of the room.
- >Was she here all along? You must have been too tired to notice when you rolled out of bed.
- >But why would she go back to sleep after raising the sun?
- >Was there some pony holiday you had forgotten about?
- >Was she sick?
- >Or...
- "It couldn't be," you half-whisper to yourself as you squint your eyes at one of the windows. "She couldn't possibly have..."
- >You quickly make your way over to the balcony doors and turn the handle down.
- >Pushing the doors open, you step out onto the balcony and into the light of the... Moon?
- >The city lies dark below you, and the stars twinkle softly above.
- >Its night-time, it looks like the moon has only just risen.
- >The sun is nowhere to be found.
- >Puzzled, you look over at the outside of your windows.
- >You are not amused at your find.
- >Thin sheets of warmly glowing magic are wrapped over the glass, casting light into your bedroom like spotlights.
- "She did."
- >"He hath been in there for a while now, does thou figure he has caught on?" Your aunt Luna asks, as she peeks through the crack of the door.
- "I don't know, he might just be struggling to get his work clothes on without waking mommy."
- >You smile at the mental image of daddy fighting not to grunt as he tries to squeeze into his tight, royal-blue trousers.
- >Luna looks over at you, a small smile present on her face as well.
- >This was one of your best pranks yet.
- >So simple, yet so efficient.
- >Aunt Luna always had the best ideas for pranks.
- >As soon as daddy fell asleep, she used her magic to create light outside his windows, and then the show begun.
- >You can't believe he didn't hear the two of you giggling as you watched him walk around like a zombie, preparing breakfast in the dead of the night.
- >"Thou doesn't think suspicion will arise at mine sister still slumbering?"
- "Maybe a little," you shrug. "But he's going to find us out eventually anyways."
- >"Damn right I am," a voice booms loudly as the door to your room flies open.
- >It's daddy.
- >And he doesn't look happy.
- >You and your aunt slowly turn to look at eachother, and then back to your dad.
- >Silence settles as he glare at the two of you.
- >"Art thou experiencing complications, Anonymous?" Aunt Luna breaks the silence, as a grin creeps up on her face.
- >His eyes narrow as his brows furrow.
- >"Dawn, shouldn't you be in bed by now?" He asks camly. "And Luna, don't you have a castle to run?"
- >Neither of you say a word.
- >Out of the corner of your eye, you can see the grin on your aunt's face grow bigger by the second.
- >"You're grounded," he says flatly. "Both of you."
- >He turns to leave, but pauses, looking back at you.
- >"And I'm telling Celestia."
- >As abruptly as he appeared, he leaves, pulling the door closed behind him.
- >You turn your head, your eyes meet with Luna's.
- >The two of you stare at eachother in silence for a moment, before collapsing on the floor, heaving with laughter.
