Within the last two days, Goddess Briyella admitted to being an adult male and we were made aware of conversations between Briyella and underage users that are sexual in nature. This is incredibly troubling given the user's prolonged history of advances toward female users both on Smogon forums and on Pokémon Showdown. In the past, this user has used his identity as a female user to coerce other female users into sexual conversations and the sharing of personal photographs. In some cases, these users were minors (14-15 years of age), and as such, Goddess Briyella's behavior is being viewed by members of Smogon's staff as child predation. We have proof of these interactions, so this move is not being made on hearsay. The phrase "child predation" is a strong one, but one that nonetheless fits the facts.

Smogon's staff wants its site, forums, and simulator to be relatively safe spaces. Goddess Briyella violated the personal safety of our users and has been permanently banned. We strongly condemn his actions.

I want to clarify that gender has very little to do with the decision.

The fact that Briyella openly admitted to being an adult and sexted underage users is enough to justify banning.

We only now have concrete proof of both.

This behavior would be equally inappropriate coming from a female.
