  1. Unlike N64 SSSV, the GB version seems to "store" the cutscene. If you leave an animal as you trigger a cutscene, you can move as Evo chip whilst the cutscene plays but the camera will not focus on you. Going back into an animal "stores" the cutscene in most cases as the camera will pan back to you mid cutscene. Leaving the animal to go back to chip Evo CAN resume the cutscene playing, yet it is not advised as ultimately no time will be saved as you have to wait for the cutscene to finish (only optimal one in this way would be Hoppa Choppa which breaks later cutscenes anyway, even if you "restart" viewing the cutscene). The only exception is Honeymoon Lagoon as you are in view as you do the cutscene skip, so the camera doesn't move. This difference is important as it breaks the other cutscenes in the game. Hoppa CHoppa's cutscene doesn't play (yet you can still finish the level as the cannons do activate) however all cutscenes in Borassic Park are necessary and performing an earlier CS that "stored" the cutscene makes them unplayable and so breaks your save. If this was just for the instance the game was on it woul dbe fine, but testing resetting the emulator and reloading a save which had done a storage did not fix the issue. Any cutscenes that take you to a new "area" (Shifting Sands, BCP, PuP are examples) DO NOT break.
  2.
  3. Cutscenes that you can "store"/skip:
  4. -Honeymoon Lagoon (move during cutscene entirely, camera returns to you at the end of the cutscene only if you are next to one of the 4 switches. Ideal switch is the bottom right to be next to at the end, and start the glitch at the bottom left/top left for time save) - NOT STORAGE BUT A SKIP
  5. -Rocky Hard Place (Stores the cutscene, breaks later cutscenes for sure. Cannot "restart" watching the cutscene for the camera to pan back to you when back as Evo chip, so level is blind if attempted.) - wouldn't be a huge timesave anyway as you can move when camera pans back to you. - CANNOT remove storage
  6. -Hoppa Choppa (stores the cutscene, breaks Borassic Park cutscenes sadly, would be a huge timesave if possible but sadly not the case. CAN "restart" cutscene by becoming evo chip again BUT does not fix later cutscenes as far as I know.) - CANNOT remove storage
  7. -Borassic Park (2nd camera you walk past, first to do a cutscene, do not skip at all, deletes the animal you were in on attempt. 2nd cutscene softlocks the game - locks camera and deletes the animal. 3rd cutscene on the skull is done as kangaroo - hard to position YET possible to get cutscene skips.) - on 3rd, CAN remove storage and is necessary (hit the camera as the vulture near the exit to trigger the objective and skips the cutscene anyway), see EDIT 4 for the 2nd camera.
  8.
  9. Safe cutscene skips to do in runs:
  10. -Honeymoon Lagoon - make sure that you are next to one of the 4 switches on the machine, this moves the camera back to you. Need to memorise movement for optimal run.
  11. -Borassic Park Skull cutscene - Skip as kangaroo, get vulture, go to camera as vulture to get the Mission Completed, go to exit. Unknown if a time save in a run but most likely is a small one if movement is optimal. Easy to fall off the skull as chip evo though if positioned wrong, so only for WR attempts imo.
  12.
  13. EDIT 1: TURNING THE CONSOLE OFF AND ON SEEMS TO UNDO CUTSCENE STORAGE. CHANGING SAVE WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE CONSOLE FIRST DOES NOT UNDO CUTSCENE STORAGE AND SO YOU HAVE TO TURN OFF THE CONSOLE TO DO A FRESH NEW RUN. This actually is good as it means we can incorporate a "save and reset mechanic" in so we do RHP cutscene skip, play until we finish Hoppa Choppa, then turn the console off and on (hard reset) as then we skip 2 cutscenes. However, this has to be timed as it may be longer to reset the console than watch the Hoppa Choppa cutscene.
  14.
  15. EDIT 2: Turning the console off and on and getting to Borassic Park takes around 25 seconds (informally timed, has to be checked), cutscenes skipped in this route only equal around 18 seconds? Time loss, so not optimal to do the Hard Reset Route.
  16.
  17. EDIT 3: True cutscene skip has been found for RHP. If you go to the switch and on the same frame as it turns on you hold left, you skip the cutscene. THIS IS NOT STORAGE, THIS IS PURE SKIP. The rocks get raised and the objective is done. Only cutscenes that now cannot be skipped at all are Borassic Park 2nd camera and Hoppa Choppa. The most annoying one is Hoppa Choppa as it is "cycle dependent" and may have some element of RNG due to Helirabbit positioning.
  18.
  19. EDIT 4: BORASSIC PARK 2nd CAMERA CAN BE CUTSCENE SKIPPED!You have to be in chip Evo, get as close to the right line of the ribcage as possible so that the chip edge is the same as the edge of the rib before the camera, and then press right and enter the desert fox at the exact same time. You skip the cutscene and can go along and the game thinks you've done it. THIS IS NOT A STORAGE AS THE LATER BORASSIC PARK CUTSCENE PLAYS NORMALLY! What if of note is that changing to chip Evo in the rest of the level means you have to reset level, UNLESS you leave Evo so that it throws you into a warp (i.e. after the crusher bit, leave Evo so that you are on the right or left side of the screen so that the screen changes). reentering the room you can go back in your animal and softlock averted! I think this is the better of the 2 cutscenes in Borassic Park to skip (skipping both IS possible but both are hard to actually set up and also to do the 2nd, you have to do what I just said above to prevent softlock. The 2nd one seems longer to do and less reliable to set up, so is more likely to be skipped as then we don't have to un-softlock the level)
  20.
  21. The fastest route seems to be cutscene skip Honeymoon Lagoon, cutscene skip RHP, cutscene skip the 2nd camera in Borassic Park (the one before the crushers). Its actually SLOWER to attempt the 2nd cutscene skip in Borassic Park overall so do not touch it. It's also more precise. Borassic Park cutscene skips have setups that ultimately don't save any time anyway, even the one that saves time only saves around a second (informally timed) so is only for the badass or a TAS really. Hoppa Choppa would be the more reliable should a cutscene skip emerge that does not break cutscenes actually get found for it. It is the only cutscenes so far that has negative consequences if you skip it at all.
  22.
  23. tl;dr:
  24.
  25. Cutscene skips:
  26. The ones to definitely do:
  27. Honeymoon Lagoon (to do, need to practice movement. Leave Evo as switch is hit, go back in, move to another switch to deactivate)
  28. Rocky Hard Place (it's literally hold left n the same frame as the switch activates)
  29.
  30. The one to try?
  31. Borassic Park 2nd camera (saves like 1 sec. Leave animal, go near switch and enter animal at same time. More likely in a TAS if one is made)
  32.
  33. AVOID DOING:
  34. Hoppa Choppa (no safe way to do it without breaking other cutscenes)
  35. Final Borassic Park (doesn't save time, need to wait for duration of cutscene at that spot/go back to spot after time cutscene takes, only feasible as vulture or waiting - waiting ruins point of skip, vulture is slower than the cutscene)
