- >Today is the day you get the upper hand against the aliens.
- >It was relatively unknown.
- >Something left blank on holiday calendars.
- >Today is the day you will get the drop on them.
- >You spot your target idly walking along the hall.
- >When she was near the elevated walkway that lined the massive room, you flagged her down.
- "Good morning, Daisy."
- >"Oh, good morning favorite human!" she chirped through the translator.
- "Forgetting something?"
- >Wide, golden-orange eyes blinked at you.
- "A special day?"
- >More blinking.
- "A human holiday?"
- >Her eyes go wide.
- >"What day is it?"
- "National horse love day."
- >Daisy scrunches up her snout as the translator noisily squeaks into her ear.
- >"What is that word?"
- >She tries to mouth the unfamiliar thing, making a variety of strange noises.
- >"Whurhrs-horse?"
- "Horse."
- >"Huhhooorrrssee?"
- "Close enough."
- >"But what is hoarse and why do you love it?"
- "They're creatures from earth. Humans have been domesticating them for ages."
- >Daisy hangs on your every word.
- >"And?"
- "And they're a lot like you, actually."
- >She narrows her eyes accusingly.
- >"How?"
- "I'll show you."
- >You hold up a screen for her to see.
- >After a few moments of squinting, she frowns.
- >"I seriously hope you don't think this."
- "What's wrong with it?"
- >"It doesn't look anything like me."
- "What?"
- >You check the image yourself.
- >Yup, that's a horse alright.
- "Sure it does."
- >The alien equine face scrunches up.
- >"I don't see whatever you are seeing."
- "Look, closer, they have hooves and legs like yous."
- >Daisy looks down at herself as if to confirm she does indeed have hooves.
- >"No I don't."
- "But the hooves and they have a tail just like yours."
- >"My hooves are more angular and my tail is far bushier."
- >You look between her and the picture.
- >Honestly you can't see the difference.
- >How good is her eyesight?
- "What about your ears?"
- >"Many species have ears like these," Daisy huffs
- >"You said I am bigger than anything on earth. Are they as large as I am?"
- "No, they're much smaller."
- >She beams proudly.
- >"Obviously we are nothing alike. See the posture? Totally different."
- "Daisy."
- >"Additionally, it is incredibly unlikely we would be as similar as you seem to think we are if we are from different planets."
- >She lifts a hoof and points it towards her face.
- >"They don't have my large, alert eyes and my muzzle is much cuter and better proportioned."
- >She sniffs haughtily, leaning closer to the railing roughly sixty feet above the ground.
- >"Human, I think you are using optics blinders."
- >She turns around, pointing her rear at you from about eye level.
- >"Does this look like an Earth species to you?"
- >Encompassing most of your vision, you can't exactly not notice her rump as she wiggles it side to side.
- >"Wait."
- >Suddenly she stops and spins back around, looking at you uncertainly.
- >"What?"
- >"You're a carnivore species. Don't bite me," she whimpers.
- >Your companion backs away, keeping her head tilted down, covering part of her upper throat
- "Daisy, wait, hold on"
- >She retreats until only her face pokes around the corner of the hall.
- >"No, human, it is my mistake, I did not mean to play with your predatory instincts."
- >The equine alien vanishes around the side with one last farewell.
- >"Have a joyous horse love day, human!"
