  13.
  14. >Day electrical on earth
  15. >You were working on high powered electronics in your fully stocked home workshop
  16. >You flip the switch to to star testing your latest creation
  17. >There was a sudden bright flash and a tremendous bang
  18. >The whole building seemed to shake
  19. >It takes a second for you to recover
  20. "Well, looks like I added the magic smoke too quickly"
  21. >You laugh at your own joke as you pull pieces of transistor out of your arms
  22. >During cleanup you notice something strange out of the corner of your eye
  23. >Light is pouring through the window
  24. "Huh, Have I really been up all night? It was 10pm last time I checked"
  25. >Looking at the clock on the wall, it reads 1am
  26. >Maybe the battery died you think to yourself as you pull out you phone
  27. >1am, no service
  28. >Now you are starting to get worried
  29. >There is now way they would both fail simultaneously, you think to yourself as you rush to the window
  30. >The sight that greets you is both very different and all too familiar
  31. >Everything is bright and colorful, seeming almost over-saturated
  32. >The buildings that dot the landscape are of vaguely medieval architecture, but several are of a much newer design
  33. >You try and rationalize what you are seeing, but keep coming up blank
  34. "I must have been knocked out in the the explosion or something"
  35. >You attempt to verify this, trying various techniques you learned while studying lucid dreaming
  36. >All signs point to reality
  37. >You pace back and forth while your analytical mind tries wrap itself around its current predicament
  38. >Movement outside the window catches your eye and you rush over to check
  39. >Six improbably colored quadrupeds are standing in a line about 30 meters away
  40. >Six quadrupeds you know better than most humans
  41. >Six PONIES that you have obsessed over for more than four years
  42. >Your brain just accepts if fate
  43. >"I don't know how we did it pal, but we traveled to Equestria"
  44. "I guess this time the smoke really was magic"
  45. >You plan your next actions carefully
  46. "Better go greet the disaster prevention squad"
  47.
  48. >You walk to the door, mentally preparing yourself
  49. >You are about to become the first human to step onto an alien world
  50. >Not only that, but an entirely different universe
  51. >Panicking for a moment, you wonder if you can even survive here
  52. >These thoughts quickly fade as you realize you would be dead if you couldn't
  53. >Opening the door, you step out into the world
  54. "One small step for Anon, one giant leap for horsefuckers"
  55. >cringing slightly at your butchering of Neil's famous quote, you turn to look at what you arrived in
  56. >The workshop looks like it was ripped out of the ground, foundation and all
  57. >It is otherwise intact, scorch marks surround the base
  58. >A thin layer of frost covers the whole building, steaming in the hot afternoon sun
  59. "Just like the deLorean from Back to the Future"
  60. >You turn to the ponies in the distance as Twilight calls out to you
  61. >"What are your intentions here creature?"
  62. >She seems wary, but you detect a hint of curiosity in her face
  63. >Pinkie interrupts her as she begins to say more
  64. >"Don't worry Twily, he looks harmless. I'm sure he'll be our friend"
  65. >RD stops her before she starts rambling
  66. >"Pinkie, this is serious! What if it's here to destroy Equestria?"
  67. >Applejack shoves a hoof in RD's mouth
  68. >You never thought it would look this funny seeing it in person
  69. >"Hold on sugarcube, don't be jump'n to conclusions now. we should be cautious, but we shouldn't just buck em' under the wagon until we know why he's here."
  70. >"While it sure is large, It doesn't seem threatening, besides, with such unique clothing, I don't think it would want to dirty them up."
  71. >Silly dress-horse, still thinking about fashion in a potentially dangerous situation
  72. >The mares start bickering amongst themselves as to whether or not you are dangerous
  73. >Fluttershy takes this chance to slowly slink behind the others to hide from your gaze
  74. >At lest they speak english, that's one barrier down
  75. "Ladies please, I don't know whats happening here, but its no reason to argue"
  76.
  77. >They freeze mid-argument, stares locking onto you
  78. >Twi speaks to no one in particular
  79. >Looks like he can speak our language, and judging by the voice, male
  80. >You address them once more
  81. "I don't know what's happening. I was up late, putting the final touches on a project I was working on. When I went to test it, there was a huge explosion and then I was suddenly here. In the middle of a warm summers day. Don't worry, I'm friendly."
  82. >Suddenly a pink blur rushes towards you, followed by a sharp crack
  83. "What the hell? Was that a gunshot?"
  84. >"HiImpinkiepienicetomeetyou!whatsyourname?Doyouwannabemyfriend?Ohmygoshweneedtothrowawelcomingparty"
  85. >She goes on and on incessantly at an almost incomprehensible pace
  86. >She looks so cute standing there, rambling in excitement at the prospect of a new friend
  87. >You reflexively reach out to scratch behind her ears
  88. >As soon as you begin she ceases all noise
  89. >Her rump plops on the ground and her ears begin to twitch, blank expression on her face
  90. >Worried you did something wrong you quickly pull away
  91. >The blank expression is quickly replaced with one of longing
  92. "Don't stop"
  93. >A blush begins to appear as drool starts to collect at the corner of her mouth
  94. >You are more than happy to oblige
  95. >The rest of the girls rush over
  96. >They all shout in unison
  97. >"What did you do to pinkie?"
  98. >"Relax girls, he's just being friendly"
  99. >She nearly moans in a contentedly lazy voice
  100. >"Mmm, wonderful scratchy friendship"
  101. >In an attempt to break the awkward silence you speak up
  102. "Well now that we know none of us harbor any ill will, why don't we go somewhere more comfortable to discuss things further."
  103. >Bookhorse uneasily clears her throat
  104. >"I guess we could go back to my library and figure things out from there."
  105. "Great! just let me just lock up and we can head there right away."
  106. >Walking back to the door, pinkie stands up with a dejected look on her face
  107. >You think you see a wet spot where she was sitting
  108. >Hands are a powerful thing
  109.
  110. >You are not even sure why you are bothering to lock up
  111. >The average pony is probably too terrified to even approach this strange new building
  112. >Force of habit you suppose
  113. >The mares are chatting among themselves as you walk back to them
  114. >The pink one is back to her usual bubbly self
  115. >She keeps trying to steal a glance at your hands when you aren't looking
  116. >You read many greentext stories about ponies enjoying ear scratches and belly rubs, but never expected it would have that kind of effect
  117. "All right, ready to go, lead the way- umm"
  118. >You catch yourself before say her name
  119. >Don't want to arouse any suspicion about what you know
  120. "How silly of me, we haven't introduced ourselves. My names Anonymous, Anon for short."
  121. >The girls introduce themselves one by one as you make your way to the treebrary
  122. >After a few minutes the group arrives and you step inside
  123. "Now that we aren't baking in the hot sun we can continue where we left off. I suppose I could start with a more thorough introduction of myself."
  124. >Twilight levitates over some blank scrolls and a few quills
  125. >"I am going to take some notes, its not often you get to meet a creature you have never seen before."
  126. "Wow, is that magic?"
  127. >The show just doesn't do it justice
  128. >Shimmering and transient almost like it isn't even there
  129. >Strangely bright and undulating like a living creature
  130. >You imagine its what a ghost would look like
  131. >"You haven't seen magic before Anon?"
  132. "Where I'm from magic only exists in myths and legends."
  133. >Twi begins scribbling like mad
  134. >"Interesting, I can't imagine what its like to live in a place without magic. How did you manage?"
  135. >She is so engrossed in learning something new that all signs of worry have left
  136. >It tugs at your heartstrings that you can make her so happy after knowing her for less than 10 minutes.
  137. "Everything is accomplished through the use of technology, but I cant really make any comparisons, considering I know nothing of this world."
  138.
  139. >"Fascinating. What is your race called? I've never seen anything like you."
  140. "I'm human, scientific name Homo Sapiens. But that probably means nothing to you."
  141. >She raises a hoof to her mouth, in deep thought for a moment
  142. >"Hmm, sapiens means wise or intelligent in ancient equus, but I'm not sure about "homo"."
  143. >You should have expected that, considering they speak english
  144. >Its still pretty surprising that even ancient equestrian languages have human equivalents
  145. "I didn't expect you to know that. Homo means man in an ancient human language called latin. It's basically the name of the genus my species belongs to."
  146. >"This is so amazing!"
  147. >You thought she looked happy before, now she looks ecstatic, grinning form ear to ear
  148. >She does a little excited dance as she rambles about the possibilities
  149. >This goes on for several until she starts talking about writing her own book
  150. >You swear she has an orgasm at the mere though of having it published
  151. >Never have you experienced obsession of this magnitude in person before
  152. >well, maybe at that one ponycon
  153. >Rarity makes an attempt to diffuse this awkward situation
  154. >"Twilight, darling, don't you think you're getting a wee bit off topic?"
  155. >Twilight blushes furiously
  156. >"...sorry"
  157. >you take this chance to get beck to your original intent of telling them about yourself
  158. >This goes on for several hours
  159. >You swear you see a physical glint in twilights eye when you mention your interest in the sciences
  160. >The girls occasionally chime in with questions, but its mostly twilight
  161. >pinkie is uncharacteristically quiet the whole time
  162. >She seems to be completely enthralled by your stories
  163. >After the fourth hour or so Rainbow interrupts with an exasperated sigh
  164. >"I know this is all SOO0 interesting, but we still don't know what to do with this guy."
  165. >"Rainbow, you may be right, but it 'taint no reason to be rude. Ah wouldn't mind hearin more 'bout human farming techniques though."
  166. >"What should we do twilight?"
  167. >Fluttershy speaks up
  168.
  169. >This is only the third time she's spoken since you arrived
  170. >Guess she's not as scared anymore
  171. >"First thing is we should make sure anon is comfortable and has somewhere to stay."
  172. >Twilight is visibly disappointed that the qa session is over
  173. >"Then we need to ascertain the cause of his arrival. After that the only thing left is to find a way to send him home."
  174. >Twi thinks for a moment before continuing
  175. >"I should send a letter to princess Celestia. She'll want to know about this. I'm sure she can offer help."
  176. >You always wanted to get to know the princesses better
  177. >The show revealed so little about them
  178. "Twilight you don't need to worry about me, I can just sleep on the couch in my lab."
  179. >"Oh no darling, that simply wont do."
  180. >"Yeah Nonny, a couch is no fun. You can stay with me instead!"
  181. >Your heart implodes
  182. >Pinkies already calling you nicknames
  183. >Also, is she trying to be alone with you?
  184. >You must have magic fingers or something
  185. >"Now now sugarcube, ah know you're excited about making a new friend, but you don't have any room."
  186. >Pinkies mane deflates slightly
  187. >"I guess you're right..."
  188. >"Ah'd offer to let you stay at mah place, but mah cousin Braeburn is currently taking up the guest room."
  189. >Twilights face lights up
  190. >"It's settled then! At least for tonight, Anon will be staying here in the library."
  191. >Twi addresses the rest of the mares, still beaming
  192. >"Now that we've got a plan, you girls can leave if you want. I'll contact you all tomorrow."
  193. >"Um, Id like to stay, but I need to go check on the animals."
  194. >"The west orchard is ready for harvest tomorrow, ah'm gonna need a good nights rest."
  195. >"I would love to chat more, but this little detour delayed a big order I have to finish by morning. I'll stop by tomorrow to take some measurements though. You've really inspired me darling."
  196. >HNNNNGG
  197. >"I'll stay longer, I really want our new friend Nonny to feel welcome."
  198. >"You two have fun with alien monkey man, I'm going to take a nap."
  199. >Rd flies away with no goodbye
  200.
  201. >The remaining mares say their goodbyes and leave
  202. "Since I'm staying here, I should pick up some of my things from my lab."
  203. >"Nonny, let me come with you! Nopony will be afraid of you if they see me with you."
  204. >Can't argue with that
  205. >Besides, you want to spend as much time with any of them as you can
  206. >You don't know how long this will last
  207. "Sure pinkie, lets go."
  208. >While ponyville was practically a ghost town when you arrived, the streets are now bustling with activity
  209. >Pinkie greets every pony you come across
  210. >She was right, none of them seemed afraid
  211. >They even politely greeted you
  212. >It doesn't take long to get there
  213. >Pinkie rushes in front of you bouncing around and asking questions
  214. "That's an oscilloscope."
  215. "Ooooo, a silly scope? Does it tell jokes?"
  216. >The cuteness of these ponies is beyond your imagination
  217. >If you're not careful, you might end up with a heart attack before the night is through
  218. "No Pinkie, an oscilloscope. It's a device used to measure and characterize electrical waveforms."
  219. >Pinkie just smiles at you
  220. >"I don't understand anything you just said."
  221. >Every battle cant end in victory
  222. >You collect the necessities like your toiletries and a change of clothes
  223. >good thing you practically lived in here back on earth
  224. >The fridge mostly contains junkfood and energy drinks
  225. >you shove some into a bag
  226. >Don't want to seem like too much of a freeloader
  227. >Satisfied with your haul, the two of you head back
  228. >"I need to go do something. I'll meet you back at the library Nonny."
  229. >She disappears in a pink blur
  230. >That was sudden
  231. >You arrive back at golden oaks, and ponks has somehow beaten you here
  232. >Oh well, its just pinkie being pinkie
  233. >"Welcome Back Anon. I went ahead and sent that letter to Celestia. We might not get a reply until tomorrow, she's been busy all week."
  234. >She gets a sly look on her face
  235. >"I've been thinking... We don't know how long it might take to send you home, and there might be a lot of free time that you need to fill."
  236.
  237. >"I propose that you become my research partner."
  238. >she looks as if she's preparing the knockout punch
  239. >"I saw how amazed you were with magic, just think of how much you could learn!"
  240. >she seems so pleased with herself, like she just executed a perfect plan
  241. >It's not like you needed convincing
  242. >you would have agreed no matter what
  243. "Sure I'll be your partner. I want to learn as much about his place as I can."
  244. >"Excellent! Tonight we'll start with some basics on magic and tomorrow I'll write up some study plans to get you caught up."
  245. >She seems so pleased with herself
  246. >"Wow Nonny, this must be a new record or something!"
  247. >"You only got here today and already found yourself a job"
  248. >Twilight pulls out an chalkboard and a selection of books
  249. >"Lets start form the beginning."
  250. >She proceeds to lecture about magical theory and historical discoveries
  251. >She offers plenty of info on actually using and controlling magic, but there is surprisingly little on the how and why it works
  252. >This will definitely require more study
  253. >Pinkie was nodding off the whole time
  254. >She only perked up when you asked a question or had something clarified
  255. >"Oh geez, we've been at this for hours. Lets take a break, surely you must be hungry. What do you want to eat? I have..."
  256. >You interrupt her
  257. "It's alright twilight, I brought my own food. Besides we need to figure out if its even safe for me to eat anything from here."
  258. >Actually, you just don't like vegetarian fare, but you can never be too careful
  259. >"Oh why didn't I think of that. We don't want you getting hurt."
  260. >Twilight pauses for a moment, possibly thinking of ways to test food
  261. >"Anyway, let me show you to the guest room so you can put your stuff away."
  262. >"Hey Twilight, I'm hungry too. Can I have something?"
  263. >"Sure pinkie, just help yourself to anything in the kitchen."
  264. >Twilight takes up up the stairs
  265. >"This is the room, you'll be staying in, the bathroom is down the hall, first door on the right."
  266.
  267. >"Come back downstairs when you are ready."
  268. >she trots off
  269. >The room is cozy and simply furnished
  270. >Surprisingly, the bed is actually large enough for you
  271. >You dump your stuff in a drawer and head down stairs
  272. >Pinkie is speaking with twilight
  273. >"Come on Twi, a sleepover's a great idea. We want Nonny to feel welcome don't we?"
  274. >"I guess its alright. You can use the extra bed in my room."
  275. >The expression on her face is almost pained
  276. >She was expecting to get you to herself
  277. >Not even 8 hours in Equestria, and two of the six already want you
  278. >Albeit not for the reasons you dreamed
  279. >Bookhorse wants you as a guinea pig
  280. >And the pink one seems to have developed a hand fetish
  281. >All in all, not a bad start
  282. >"Oh thank you thank you twilight! We're going to have so much fun!"
  283. >Switching gears, Pinks and Twi begin sharing personal stories with you
  284. >Most of them you know from the show
  285. >It's still interesting hearing them first hand
  286. >You decide to flip through the one of the books, a history book you think
  287. >It's complete gibberish so you see if you can notice any patterns
  288. >Suddenly your head feels like its splitting open
  289. >The book falls from your hands due to the pain
  290. >"Anon!"
  291. >"Nonny, are you alright!?"
  292. >Pinkie rushes up to you, worry in her eyes
  293. >It passes as quick as it arrived
  294. "Don't worry, I'm fine. It's probably just a lack of sleep, coupled with the shock of suddenly arriving."
  295. >You reach down to pick up the book, and to your amazement, you can read the covers
  296. >"A condensed guide to Equestrian history."
  297. >It still looks like gibberish, but you can somehow understand what it says
  298. >There is also a strange feeling in the back of your head
  299. >It goes away when you aren't looking at the book
  300. "I don't know what happened, but I can suddenly ready what this says."
  301. >Twilight goes right back to excited, her quill burning up a page
  302. >"Amazing, I've never heard of anything like this! Perhaps you have a natural ability to channel magic."
  303. >Her eyes are practically sparkling
  304.
  305. >"Oh there's so many tests I want to run!"
  306. >She starts rambling under her breath about the possibilities
  307. >This goes on for a few minutes while you and Pinkie stand there in awkward silence
  308. >"Twily"
  309. "Twilight."
  310. >Both of you addressed her simultaneously
  311. >She blushes
  312. >"Sorry... I did it again didn't I?"
  313. "Yes."
  314. >"You sure did."
  315. "Twilight, I know you are excited, but you are getting a little ahead of yourself."
  316. >"I know, I know. It's just that I haven't felt this way since I was accepted to Celestia's school for gifted unicorns. It's hard to contain my enthusiasm."
  317. "It's alright, I pretty much feel the same way. I'm just better at hiding it."
  318. >Twilight looks at the clock and gets up
  319. >"I didn't realize it was so late, it's already after midnight."
  320. >You'd been so engrossed in everything that you hadn't realized how exhausted you were
  321. >Its been over 24 hours since you last slept
  322. >"Why don't we get to bed, tomorrow is going to be another big day."
  323. "I'm going to stay up a little longer and read to calm my mind."
  324. >"Okay Anon, don't stay up too late though."
  325. "Don't worry, I won't."
  326. >"Night Nonny!"
  327. >Pinkie rushes up and hugs you
  328. >People would kill to be you right now
  329. "Goodnight Pinkie."
  330. >"Come on Pinkie, lets leave him alone now."
  331. >"Have a good rest Anon."
  332. "I'll try, see you in the morning."
  333. >"If you need anything, my room is the big one at the end of the hall."
  334. >They both head up stairs
  335. >Pinkies tail swings to the side a little too long to be accidental
  336. >Did she just flash her marehood at you?
  337. >This time you get a strange feeling in your other head
  338. >ifyouknowwhatimean.jpg
  339. >Celestia might classify your hands as a Weapon of Mass Deviance
  340. >You grab a few books like Geography of Equestria, Theory of Magic, and of course, Equine Sexuality 4th ed.
  341. >A man needs to know what he's getting into
  342. >You head to your room and dump the books on the bed
  343. "I really need to take a piss."
  344. >As you rush to the bathroom, you notice a purple flash under the door
  345. "That damn horse is trying to spy on me."
  346.
  347. >You open the door and walk inside pretending you hadn't noticed anything
  348. >the bathroom looks like any other you've seen
  349. >except for the fact that everything was lower to the ground
  350. >You walk to the toilet and act like you are going to start
  351. >The you suddenly rip the shower curtain open
  352. >A startled looking purple smart is sitting there holding a notepad
  353. >"H-how did you know I was here?"
  354. "I saw the flash when you teleported in."
  355. >"Oh."
  356. "Look, I know you really want to study me, but you shouldn't try to do it without permission."
  357. >"I'm really sorry Anon, its just you're so interesting that I can't resist the need to know more."
  358. >She's on the verge of tears
  359. >It breaks your heart
  360. >"P-p-please don't hate me..."
  361. >You pull her into a hug
  362. "I don't hate you twilight, in fact, quite the opposite."
  363. >If only she knew
  364. "You just need to learn a little self restraint."
  365. >"I-I know, I've been working on it."
  366. "If you wanted to study my bodily functions, you could have just asked."
  367. "I'd be willing to give you first hand experience."
  368. >She giggle-sobs
  369. >"I might have to take you up on that offer."
  370. >You laugh with her
  371. >These mares..
  372. "Now seriously, go to bed. I really need to use the bathroom."
  373. >You lead her to the door

  451. "Why can I never save them! What did I do to deserve this?!"
  452. >The world begins to fad to white
