Clashing against Aslain who is standing in for Valkyrie to allow her to decide the rewards. While Aslain completely immersed himself in the world of the game and thus obtained a great power, Ikki is the complete opposite in this clash - knowing that the way out cannot be the intended way to play, he goes against rules and 'common sense', planning to break his friend out. Thus, he doesn't really trust those who 'play by the rules' in the world of D I S C O R D and the possibility of working for said people for free, having them decide what is best for him and Kigiri makes him try even harder than ever.

Through observation of the game and its mechanics, Toneri continued to search for ways to use their odd relationship for their advantage. With the introduction and observation of the 'mind links' that move the neural maps of the avatar and player closer together, he deduced a similar trick should by all accounts be possible to perform in-game - as the avatars are similar projections existing solely on the server and player's respective neural pathways. The thing he attempts doing is linking up his Avatar with Kigiri through making their external signature as similar as possible for a short moment, short enough for the servers to bug out and share the two images between Tonari and Kaigu - taking advantage of the fact that the intensity of his combat with Aslain had peaked and thus both particle generation and the computing power of their section should be being used to the max. It's a one in a thousand chance, but since losing this means giving up his fate, fame and riches in hands of someone he barely knows - all while his guildmates stare and nod - it's something that sparks up his spirit of competition.
