  1. Multiverse Crisis MUSH - Application Form 4.0
  2. A. OOC INFORMATION
  3. 1a. Who are you?
  4.
  5. What is your name, or if you prefer, online alias? What is your age?
  6.
  7.
  8. 2a. Where did you come from?
  9.
  10. Where have you roleplayed before, and who did you play there? If you're new, how did you find out about us? If you play
  11.
  12. here, list all of your current characters. If you have played here before, but do not at present, list your prior
  13.
  14. characters here. If you are requesting a 7th or 8th alt slot with this application, say so here.
  15. An old, previously retired roleplayer who played on NWN servers and recently started up again with mushes. My previous
  16.
  17. characters and presently inactive is a Final Fantasy 10 Summoner from Final Kingdom and one abandoned ninja like pilot
  18.
  19. from a Gundam mush, neither have gotten much screen time.
  20. I heard about MCM through a friend of a friend of another friend.
  21.
  22.
  23. B. CHARACTER SUMMARY
  24.
  25. Your Profile/+Finger, +Advantages, and +Disadvantages are your face on the MUSH. They tell people who your character is,
  26.
  27. what they are capable of, and what their failings are. Please remove the examples/explanations below each of these
  28.
  29. sections. For example --> Name: Your character's name. 18 character limit, no special letters. <-- Should be trimmed down
  30.
  31. to --> Name: Link <--
  32.
  33.
  34. 1b. Profile
  35.
  36. Name: Noiela
  37.
  38. Faction: Union
  39.
  40. Function: Tactician
  41.
  42. Series: Fire Emblem: Awakening
  43.
  44. Rank: 6
  45.
  46. Quote: "We're not pawns of some scripted fate. I believe we're more. Much more...There's something between us all.
  47.
  48. Something that keeps us together...Like...invisible ties, connecting us."
  49.
  50. Profile: A mystery wrapped up in an enigma kept inside a conundrum clinches the rather taciturn strategist who has joined
  51.
  52. the Union, having discovered the multiverse and its rather diverse inhabitants entirely by accident, when fleeing from her
  53.
  54. homeland where she was revered as the human host for a dark dragon deity known as Grima. Thankfully few outside Plegia
  55.
  56. would know about this rather grim(a) destiny and she is not quick to mention it. Within the Union she has fast settled
  57.
  58. into a role of advisor. Within said role she takes every mission as gravely important and has been labelled as an
  59.
  60. incurable workaholic by anyone who knows of her schedule. It will be a rare day she loosens the reins enough to simply
  61.
  62. enjoy life and let herself be guided by 'fate'.
  63. Despite being trained in both the use of tomes and bladed weaponry, it is outside direct combat where Noiela displays real
  64.
  65. acumen; she bears an unerring sense when it comes to appraising any conflict and what is the most effective course of
  66.
  67. action- all executed with minimal casualties.
  68.
  69. 2b. Character Type
  70.
  71. What kind of character are you applying for? Categories are FCs (Canon Characters), OFCs (AU takes on canon characters),
  72.
  73. and OCs (Original Characters).
  74.
  75. OFC
  76.
  77.
  78. 3b. Advantages
  79.
  80. This is a lengthy section divided into four categories: POWERS, SKILLS, ASSETS, and NPCs. If your character doesn't have
  81.
  82. an advantage in a specific category, just write down None or N/A. Some Advantages may fit multiple categories, in which
  83.
  84. case you may choose what category to put the advantage in. Wizards or other characters with many minor sub-powers aren't
  85.
  86. expected to list EVERY spell, but shouldn't have things like Wish, Teleportation, or Resurrection without listing them.
  87.
  88.
  89. 3b-1. Advantages: Powers
  90.
  91.
  92. Profane Blood- The corrupting influence of Grima exists within Noiela, dormant yet ready to make its appearance when
  93.
  94. called forth. Its presence minor, the heritage of the Fell dragon can be felt in a number of ways. At present, it grants
  95.
  96. Noiela the ability to sense and use dark magic that is carried in magicial tomes and other similiar artifacts dependent on
  97.
  98. the setting.
  99.
  100. Hexes- Noiela knows a few curses useable without using a tome as a focus, such as sending the foe into deep slumber or
  101.
  102. causing their hands to spontaneously jitter that always work sixty percent of the time. Success of any hex is entirely
  103.
  104. consent based and usually minor in effect or duration.
  105.
  106. 3b-2. Advantages: Skills
  107.
  108. List your character's SKILLS. Skills are exactly what they sound like. Things that your character has been taught to do,
  109.
  110. or which they learned to do themselves.
  111.
  112. Tactical Genius- Though technically a skill, the ability Noiela holds to sense patterns in others footwork, their
  113.
  114. strengths and weaknesses plus a whole host of other little factors about her environment borders on seerlike. With this
  115.
  116. talent, Noiela can often see how best to turn the outcome in her teams favour.
  117.
  118. The Art of Swordplay- Taught use of the most commonly coveted weapon of noble and wandering mercenary alike, Noiela is
  119.
  120. proficient enough to hold her own when crossing blades with the enemy. Her personal style tends towards a flowing,
  121.
  122. acrobatic flurry to leave her opponent breathless. If needed, permanently. Needless to say, she is not very talented when
  123.
  124. put up against real swordmasters, as her real strength lies in magic with melee a last resort.
  125.
  126. Wizardly Reading- Noiela has been taught to read, decipher and use items such as scrolls and tomes that either contain
  127.
  128. power or are made for magicians to charge with power to obtain the desired effect. Though this is not applicable to all
  129.
  130. settings, given consent OOCly Noiela may use her skill to handle any object or writings found in scenes. Ones that grant
  131.
  132. significant power may require an upgrade application. Currently, Noiela tends to carry tomes that help channel basic
  133.
  134. elemental magic such as lightning bolts, cutting winds, etc.
  135.
  136. 3b-3. Advantages: Assets
  137.
  138. List your character's ASSETS. Assets can be their Batcave, Stark Enterprises, their Evil Empire, etc. This can sometimes
  139.
  140. overlap a bit with NPCs. You aren't expected to list minor assets like owning a home, but if your character's assets are a
  141.
  142. major part of their advantages, they should definitely be here.
  143.
  144. Coat of Many Pockets- Stitched and dyed in the style of Plegia, this hooded coat Noiela favours is amazingly, inexplicably
  145.
  146. capable of surviving gouts of flesh charring flame, bone crushing collisions and even heavy rain with minor damage. Also,
  147.
  148. it has a number of inner pockets, allowing the wearer to carry up several healing potions at once.
  149.
  150.
  151. 3b-4. Advantages: NPCs
  152.
  153. List your character's NPCs, along with a summary of what they can do and the Power Level you would like them to have. This
  154.
  155. is a bit more specialized, and is meant for characters with named subordinates from their own series, or characters like
  156.
  157. pokemon trainers.
  158.
  159.
  160. None
  161.
  162.
  163. 4b. Disadvantages
  164.
  165. Excepting that these are not divided into sub-categories, these are identical to Advantages and represent a character's
  166.
  167. failings and weaknesses. We would like to see a minimum of three solid Disadvantages, with at least one of them being a
  168.
  169. deficiency in your character's personality.
  170.
  171.
  172.
  173.
  174. No Person Left Behind- Symptomatic of heroes and obsessed over in the extreme by Noiela is her conviction that no one is
  175.
  176. to die under her command. She will eagerly run herself ragged thinking and re analysing the battlefield if there is the
  177.
  178. slightest chance she may spare a life. Such a desire can be desirable, but as it stands such a fixation may arguably be
  179.
  180. what bars her from true tactical glory. It might even cost her lives she held so precious.
  181.
  182. Dark Heritage- Given Noiela is the only suitable host for a giant, murderous dragon considered a deity, her position is
  183.
  184. perilous both within her own universe and outside; anyone willing to summon forth Grima itself likely knows beforehand
  185.
  186. that its awakening sentences the vessel to a living death. With such a fate hanging heavy on her shoulders, Noiela is a
  187.
  188. ticking time bomb.
  189.
  190. Vulnerability: Light Magic- Any powers designed to hit evil doers have a similar effect on Noiela due to Grimas blood bond
  191.
  192. and by extension healing magic that is light based will inflict wounds and reopen old ones, damage varying on the strength
  193.
  194. of said ability.
  195.
  196.
  197.
  198. 5b. Themelisting
  199.
  200. If a +themelisting does not already exist for your character, you will have to write one yourself. This should be a
  201.
  202. concise description of the setting from which the character comes, and if it is a modified/non-canon theme it should
  203.
  204. usually explain how it diverges from the original.
  205.
  206.
  207. C. CHARACTER INFORMATION
  208. 1c. Personality
  209.
  210. Describe your character's personality, in 500 words or more. Give an overview of their motivations, hopes, fears,
  211.
  212. failings. Why are they in the faction they're in, and why would people enjoy RP with this character? Show that you
  213.
  214. understand how your character acts, and why. If you give us too little, you'll be asked for more. (Need help? Take a look
  215.
  216. at Nathan Hall's Personality Guide.)
  217.
  218.
  219.
  220.
  221. Reflective, eager to learn. Vociferous reader. Tactical mastermind. Many words have been used to describe Noiela, several
  222.
  223. of them unprintable in respectable newspapers. Her most defining and iconic depiction is that of the resolute general,
  224.
  225. marshalling her troops, master of all she surveys. Her motivations are relatively straightforward and differ little from
  226.
  227. the majority-she looks to protect the people she deems family; their companionship a surrogacy for her own lacking
  228.
  229. childhood and is particularly vicious when it comes to defending those she sees as fragile. However, Noiela rarely seeks a
  230.
  231. fight unless there are few other viable options and definitely prefer to play peacemaker over warmonger.
  232.
  233. For her each battle is personal, an emotional and physical investment. Noiela lives to test herself ever further when it
  234.
  235. comes to strategy, leisure hours spent busily engaged in relevant books or penning in her interminable scrawl information
  236.
  237. that might be useful. It can be easily argued the tactician never rests on her laurels and rarely acts outside her role as
  238.
  239. tactician when interacting with others.
  240. Prone to a humourless demeanour, though occasionally soldiers under her command may be privy to flash of immaturity or
  241.
  242. uncharacteristic fury. Buttons to push are her lack of height, personal history and being called a 'boy with long hair'.
  243.
  244. Any of these repeatedly used can press Noiela into a response that undermines her attempt at a more mature attitude.
  245.
  246. When it comes to Noielas personal dreams, they tie closely into the continued theme of family; what it means to have one.
  247.
  248. For her, to belong and earn new memories to replace a lost childhood is pivotal to understanding the ultimately very
  249.
  250. fallible person behind such estimable titles, talents and heritage. Thus, it is not surprising she gravities towards the
  251.
  252. Union, seeing them as far more in line with her moral view than ruthless Confederate or any other organisation. An easy
  253.
  254. exploit she knows and will attempt to disguise by presenting a stoic front, especially when it comes to those she holds
  255.
  256. close.
  257. Anyone who does manage to obtain her loyalty would be hard pressed to lose it-she will pursue and seek to redeem them if
  258.
  259. there is the slightest chance of redemption and will befriend the morally dubious that Noiela expects hold inner 'good'
  260.
  261. qualities. Part of this dogged persistence to not give up on others stems from her position as Grimas host and may blindly
  262.
  263. mistake the odd benevolent act commited by a villain as a sign of an inner good person struggling to get out from
  264.
  265. underneath the layers of selfishness and cruelty.
  266.
  267.
  268. Overall, she is one of Unions most active members who acts far older than her tender years, anxious to ensure no one under
  269.
  270. her jurisdiction is left empty handed when it comes to their own goals. Self neglect is routine, many nights Noiela will
  271.
  272. simply forego sleep in concerted effort to meet unrealistic standards. By achieving victory despite the odds, she
  273.
  274. subconsciously imagines her own destiny may possibly be averted.
  275.
  276. 2c. Background
  277.
  278. Give us a short and concise overview of your character's background. More thorough backgrounds are expected of non-canon
  279.
  280. takes on characters, high-powered original characters, and some other special cases. Otherwise, keep this shorter than
  281.
  282. your personality section. (Need help? Take a look at our sample applications at News Applications/Sample.)
  283.
  284.
  285.
  286.
  287.
  288. Aeons ago the race of dragons flourished, the most powerful of them the Earth and Divine. What civilisation existed during
  289.
  290. the aforementioned period is lost to memory; only the descendants of those who chose to assume human form and seal their
  291.
  292. power within dragonstones remain. The stories known to scholars simply mention a war between the Fell dragon and Divine
  293.
  294. that resulted in the creation of the Falchion-a divine sword capable of sealing away the corrupted soul of the last direct
  295.
  296. descendent of the Earth dragons. However, Grimas influence did not terminate with his death and upon his bones was built a
  297.
  298. cult empire to worship the so named true Divine dragon, protector of humankind. Amongst the first deluded followers rose
  299.
  300. those who had partaken of a blood bond with the beast and sought in secret to strengthen their bloodline and create a
  301.
  302. suitable host for his resurrection.
  303.
  304.
  305.
  306.
  307. The result was Validar, devoted utterly to his masters cause. A twisted sorcerer deeply involved in the dark arts, he soon
  308.
  309. realised a strong taint was not enough to provide a vessel. Dismayed, it was his tireless search that led him to discover
  310.
  311. Noielas mother, who possessed the Heart of Grima itself. From their union, two children were born. One discarded, the
  312.
  313. other embraced.
  314.
  315.
  316.
  317.
  318.
  319. It was a less than ideal childhood, blighted early on by a father that saw his offspring as little more than a shell Grima
  320.
  321. would occupy once the vessel had grown into its power and later when her mother defected to spare her daughter, a life
  322.
  323. endlessly threatened by possible discovery. Still, such privilege came with definite benefits for a mind insatiable for
  324.
  325. knowledge- Validar ensured Noielas magical aptitude was refined by tutelage into applicable skill, nor would the avatar
  326.
  327. for the Fell dragon be hampered when it came to directing others, a lesson her mother took upon herself to teach,
  328.
  329. providing the sole bright spot in an otherwise gloomy existence.
  330.
  331.
  332.
  333.
  334. So confident was Validar, he never suspected until afterwards they plotted to run and appeal for asylum. Had been for many
  335.
  336. months, the exact time spent hunting both to little avail. Even after her mothers death from an infected wound, did Noiela
  337.
  338. cease to run far as she could until she reached Ylisse. Instead, she discovered the Gate and after an impromptu crash
  339.
  340. course in politics culminating in a fight where her tactical training proved useful was granted a place within the Union
  341.
  342. with due recognition to her skill at directing others. She also provides training and general advice to any fresh faced
  343.
  344. recruit who requires the extra assistance when time permits it.
  345.
  346.
  347.
  348.
  349.
  350.
  351.
  352.
  353. 3c. Power Level
  354.
  355. Put your desired Power Level (see Power Levels) range here, and justify it to us.
  356.
  357.
  358. 28-30
  359.
  360.
  361.
  362. Since the character is relatively strong in terms of being able to bolster allies and impede enemies, the lower than 32
  363.
  364. can be accounted for due to the fact the protagonist is starting out with basic equipment and knowledge-the starting out, bargain basement equipment.
  365.
  366.
  367. 4c. Sample Pose
  368.
  369. Include a sample pose here, if you like. This field is mandatory for Guests, optional for standing/returning players. If
  370.
  371. you include a sample pose, it should be at least 150 characters long, should include both action and dialogue, and should
  372.
  373. not focus on how strong your character is. Do a mini-scene with somebody if you want! Staff may occasionally request a
  374.
  375. sample pose during the revisions process (if there is one), so it never hurts to put one in anyway.
  376.
  377.
  378.
  379.
  380. The young man was sweating profusely, enough to lend a wet sheen to his cheeks and brow. He wore the standard regulation
  381.
  382. uniform, like its wearer also beginning to show signs of acute moisture as his guide led him down nondescript hallways
  383.
  384. until they reached the equally unremarkable training room. In fact, a critical eye might label it shabby. Either way, it
  385.
  386. was there he was deposited for pickup by a volunteer. One of the special operatives, beyond that little snippet he knew
  387.
  388. precious few facts.
  389.
  390. Several palm gouged minutes later, his ears caught the telltale creak of a door. Halting mid pace, he spun round to espy a
  391.
  392. rather short, hooded figure. Pale and thin, but appearances were deceiving. Moreso when she-for it transpired the contact
  393.
  394. was female, lowered her hood to grant him an upward flick of the mouth.
  395.
  396. "Hello, Master...was it Renyard?" Although she was by all accounts relatively typical insofar as the formula of two eyes,
  397.
  398. one nose and mouth went the golden flecked eyes and pallid mint coloured hair added a slight additional interest.
  399.
  400.
  401.
  402.
  403. "Excuse me...you are him? It would hardly be unprecedented, for the personnel to have sent the file of another. Inevitable
  404.
  405. in such a sprawling organisation." In her mellifluous tones, her accent spoke of puzzlement as characterised by the angled
  406.
  407. furrow of her brow. He promptly snapped to attention, stammer painfully intruding on a basic affirmative.
  408.
  409.
  410. "Y...Y...Yes." A hard gulp. "Yes ma'am...sir." Her mouth again curved, settling back into straight lines with her next
  411.
  412. action, clipboard at the ready and pen clicked.
  413.
  414. "At ease? Anyway, I'd like to assess you." Adding quietly, "Do not feel intimidated. This is more an informal run through,
  415.
  416. since much as the Union likes to emblazon us so named elites with medals to show our favoured status, you make up the bulk
  417.
  418. of the defenders. You and others like you-besides, have you ever tried to organise a bunch of people whose collective egos
  419.
  420. could rival a dragons? I warrant we even host a few of them in our ranks." A gloved hand motions towards the sparring
  421.
  422. circle and he notes with complete, sincere detachment the whitened scars lining her knuckles. "We will begin the first
  423.
  424. simulation."
  425.
  426.
  427.
  428.
  429. For Dontelle Renyard, the day has only just begun.
  430. 5c. Miscellaneous
  431.
  432. This is just a miscellaneous field. If you have any notes or special requests (potential defection notices, for example),
  433.
  434. this is the place to put them.
