  1. >Thirty minutes later, and you’re inside the town hall, set to face the renegade psyker
  2.
  3.
  4. >Your Lucius pattern shotgun is clean and fully loaded, with four extra revolving magazines on your belt
  5. >Killian is to your side, carefully putting his hellgun, the type XIV heavy lasgun, back together
  6. >Between the two of you are two smoke grenades, four frags, and one krack grenade, to which Killian is given the responsibility
  7. >Both of you have your sword bayonets, entrenchment tools, and painstakingly secured gasmasks
  8.
  9. >The two of you stand at attention, right next to the main entrance of the town hall
  10. >You keep watch as the town’s citizens trickle in, filling the main floor of the circular building
  11.
  12. >All of those who were participating in the festivities had come roughly the same time, and it appears the celebration is about to commence
  13.
  14. >Ms. Sparkle keeps looking at the moon through the window, as do you
  15. >According to her, the dark deposits on the natural satellite depict the mare on the moon, and a likely sign of the rogue psyker appearing will be those disappearing
  16.
  17. >The celebration begins with a quick song from the flying creatures, conducted by Ms. Fluttershy, followed by a speech from the mayor
  18. >Praising the Planetary Governess (as if she was a goddess of sorts), the elder eventually leads into welcoming the Governess
  19.
  20. >During the speech, you and Ms. Sparkle glance once more at the moon
  21. >You notice four stars slowly move behind the rock
  22.
  23. >With a silent flash, the mare on the moon disappears
  24.
  25. >So it’s true
  26.
  27. >Mouthing a prayer of forgiveness and strength to the Emperor, you tap Killian on the shoulder and cock the hammer on your shotgun
  28. >He nods and tightens the last screw, before expertly attaching the power cords to the underside and charging the hellgun up with a faint whine
  29.
  30. >The curtains on a high balcony are drawn apart
  31. >The Governess is not there
  32.
  33. >The crowd becomes worrying, despite the mayor attempting to keep things calm
  34. >It doesn’t help when Ms. Rarity confirms their ruler is gone
  35.
  36. >COLLECTIVE GASP
  37.
  38. >You and Killian shoulder your weapons, ready for anything
  39. >Except for Ms. Pie commenting on the Governess being good at hiding
  40. >Then you notice some shadowy aura appearing on the balcony above
  41.
  42. >The formless mass condenses next to Ms. Rarity, before opening up to reveal a native
  43. >Pitch black fur, a mane made of the night sky, both wing and a horn like the governess, and sparkling blue armor
  44. >Lastly: a speech that equates to “it’s good to be back”, and “don’t you recognize me?”
  45.
  46. >This is the renegade, without question
  47.
  48. >Ms. Sparkle tells it all to the rest of the ignorant crowd
  49. >This is Nightmare Moon, and the psyker follows up with a grand declaration that the night will last for eternity
  50.
  51. >Not if you have anything to say about it
  52.
  53. >As the renegade calls to the powers of the warp, you and Killian open fire
  54. >The bark of your shotgun and the brilliant flashes of the hellgun could be heard over the roaring wind and Tzeenchian bolts
  55.
  56. >Both the slugs and bright orange streams of light seem to be absorbed by the warpfire now surrounding the psyker
  57.
  58. >She laughs as a trio of PDF natives fly up to meet her
  59. >Warp-born lightning smacks them out of the air, not killing them for whatever twisted reason
  60.
  61. >The renegade then sets her glowing eyes on you
  62. >You continue unloading your magazine into her
  63.
  64. >She gives you a foreboding smile, but instead of casting more lightning, she closes the warpfire around her, her body disappearing into it and then flying towards you
  65.
  66. >You and Killian shoot at the blue flame until the last second, then dive to the side
  67. >The renegade flies past you and out of the town hall
  68.
  69. >Killian springs up and is the first one out, followed by an overeager Ms. Dash and yourself
  70. >He shoots after the psyker to no effect until she speeds out of sight
  71.
  72. >You notice the direction in which the renegade headed to: the large patch of woods that dominate the land between the town and the base of a mountain range
  73.
  74. >You might need some help in order to track down this corrupted native
  75. >Ms. Sparkle runs between you and Killian
  76.
  77. >”Where’s she goin’?” you hear Ms. Dash ask
  78.
  79. >You, Killian, and several others follow her back to her library
  80. >After tucking her fainted assistant into bed, Ms. Twilight pulls several books off of the many shelves lining the walls, intent on finding information about “the Elements of Harmony”
  81.
  82. >You start to dodge flying books as she becomes more frantic
  83.
  84. >”How can I stop Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?”
  85.
  86. >Ms. Dash is in the student’s face immediately
  87. >”And just what are the Elements of Harmony?!
  88. >And how did you know about Nightmare Moon, huh?
  89. >Are you a spy?!”
  90.
  91. >Accusing the Governess’ student of heresy?
  92. >Experience demands you watch the flyer more closely
  93.
  94. >Ms. Applejack defends the student, but states that she does know what’s going on
  95. >After telling the five other native and Killian what you already knew, the student says that she has no idea what they are, where they are, or what they even do
  96.
  97. >Ms. Pie helps out again by immediately finding a reference guide
  98. >It turns out that the Elements of harmony are six relics, each one titled Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty, and an unknown
  99. >These relics reside in an ancient fortress, located in the woods known as
  100.
  101. >TRASNSITION
  102.
  103. >The Everfree Forest
  104. >Thick with vegetation, it looks like a Catachan vacation home to you
  105. >While you felt at ease in open fields and tunnels, you and the rest of the Shipment have experience in fighting in heavily wooded areas
  106. >The six natives seems much less comfortable
  107.
  108. >Except for Ms. Pie, of course
  109. >She even begins to take point, but Ms. Twilight stops her, expressing she’d rather complete this mission alone
  110. >None of the others accept that, and begin to walk the dirt trail leading in
  111.
  112. >Twilight seems hesitant, but then you step to her side
  113. >She’s not a soldier, so she’ll need all the support she can get
  114. >You crouch down to her level and rest a gloved hand on her shoulder
  115. >She jumps a little, then calms as you give her a reassuring nod
  116.
  117. >You stand up and follow Killian into the forest, a fresh magazine in your weapon
  118.
  119. >The trek starts out uneventful for several minutes, with only the natives talking about them feeling out of place here
  120. >As you and Killian walk alongside the student, you have to agree with the Ms. Applejack that this region has an unnatural feel to it, and there are rumors of it acting differently from the rest of the land
  121. >Sounds like slight warp corruption to you
  122.
  123. >In some strange twist of mood, Ms. Dash decides to start antagonizing the other, much to the agri-worker’s protest
  124. >”Everypony who’s ever come in…
  125. >Has never
  126. >come
  127. >OUT!”
  128.
  129. >Does the ground feel loo-LANDSLIDE
  130.
  131. >You see a flash of warpfire as you slide down on your back
  132. >Looking down, you realize the slope ends in a massive canyon, well above the fatal height mark
  133. >Thinking quickly, you and Killian bring out your entrenchment tools and stab into the earth
  134.
  135. >You look back up to see the student and agri-worker tumbling down the slope, unable to stop themselves
  136. >As they pass you, you reach out for them
  137.
  138. >You miss
  139.
  140. >Killian saves them and grabs hold of Ms. Applejack’s tail, who in turn somehow keeps Ms. Twilight from falling
  141.
  142. >The student is understandably frantic
  143. >”Applejck!
  144. >What do I do?!”
  145.
  146. >Applejack looks up to see both of the flyers lowering the others to the ground
  147. >”Just hold on.”
  148. >She turns to the Grenadier
  149. >Killian, let go.”
  150.
  151. >This doesn’t appease the student at all
  152. >”Are you crazy?!”
  153.
  154. >”No ah ain’t.
  155. >Ah promise you’ll be safe.”
  156.
  157. >”That’s not true!”
  158.
  159. >”Now listen, what ahm sayin’ is the honest truth, we’ll both be safe if Killian lets go.
  160. >Trust me.”
  161.
  162. >With a moment to contemplate, Twilight nods
  163. >”Killian…”
  164.
  165. >The Grenadier lets go
  166.
  167. >The student and agri-worker fall, only to be caught by both the flyers
  168.
  169. >The bunch of natives fall to the ground and land with a thud, dazed but alive
  170.
  171. >You and Killian spot several rocks jutting out of the cliff face, and begin to use those to descend to the natives
  172.
  173. >A minute later, and the group is on the move, with you and Killian in the rear this time
  174. >Ms. Dash is still commentating on how she and her fellow flyer saved Ms. Sparkle, much to both her annoyance and gratitude
  175. >If you hadn’t seen that warpfire, you would have easily blamed the showoff for the rocks falling from underneath all of you
  176.
  177. >Your inner thoughts are interrupted by something large stomping into view
  178. >Ms. Sparkle calls the creature a “manitcore” and it roars at all of you
  179.
  180. >The student proclaims you have to get past it, so you and Killian prepare to charge
  181. >The natives have the initiative, though, and one-by-one tussle with the creature before being beaten back
  182.
  183. >Ms. Dash simply gets swatted back to you, and there is a lull in the combat
  184.
  185. >Your turn
  186. >You and the Grenadier sprint past them all, your shotgun shouldered and Killian’s bayonet fastened onto the hellgun
  187.
  188. >The beast braces itself, blind to the fact it’s about to meet whatever twisted god created it
  189. >You aim for the face
  190.
  191. >Ms. Fluttershy intervenes
  192. >”Waaait!”
  193.
  194. >You almost fall forward as you stop in front of the yellow flyer
  195.
  196. >To your amazement, the native turns to the beast /and approaches it/
  197. >It growls before razing its clawed paw
  198. >You bring up your weapon again and-
  199.
  200. >”Shh, it’s okay.”
  201. >The native, the size of a grot compared to the beast, actually nuzzles the lowered paw
  202. >She gives it a look, and it turns the paw over, revealing a rather large wooden arrowtip stuck in it
  203. >”Aw, you poor, poor little baby.”
  204.
  205. >…
  206. >”Little?” asks Ms. Dash, as dumbfounded as you are
  207.
  208. >”Now this might hurt for juust a second.”
  209. >She plucks the “spliter” out, and it about to have her face ripped off by the pissed o-
  210.
  211. >Wait
  212. >No, it’s just licking her affectionately
  213.
  214. >While it’s distracted, you all run past
  215. >Ms. Twilight stays behind to make sure the flyers catches up unharmed
  216.
  217. >The rest of the trip was, for the two of you, uneventful
  218. >Strange, given that you knew this rogue psyker was actively trying to kill all of you
  219. >However, she seemed to have resorted to ineffective methods, such as:
  220.
  221. >Making the forest so dark the native were seeing things
  222. >Your proto-visors didn’t pick up any hostiles, only trees with faces
  223. >After you and Ms. Pie pointed this out (and the pink native singing a song about it), the group moved forward
  224. >Then there was a dealing with a serpent creature, which ended in Ms. Rarity giving up most of her tail and it helping you all across an already calmed river
  225. >Lastly: a relatively intact bridge that needed to be restrung, and Ms. Dash helped with that
  226. >The psyker directly intervened there through shadow forms of some kind, and Killian was ready to shoot them through the fog
  227. >However, Ms. Dash refusing the offer to join them was enough to have the renegade dissipate the spell
  228.
  229. >With the journey at an end, you and Killian storm the ruined fortress
  230. >The main hall is in shambles, but the renegade is nowhere to be found
  231. >In the middle of the room is a large sculpture, with six apparatuses jutting out from it
  232. >On the end of five of them are spherical stones with simplistic runes carved in
  233.
  234. >As the two of you kept watch, the flyers brought down the stones
  235. >According to Ms. Sparkle, when the five element are together, the sixth would appear with a spark
  236. >She begins to experiment, utilizing her own psykic powers
  237. >The rest of the natives decide to leave for her to concentrate
  238.
  239. >”Come on, ya two.
  240. >She doesn’t need yall breathin’ down ‘er neck either.”
  241. >But you’re up against the wall
  242. >That’s more than enough room
  243.
  244. >Though you do remember what you were told about psykers and their inherent danger
  245. >Perhaps an aging stone wall wouldn’t hurt
  246. >Nevertheless, that rogue psyker is out there
  247. >Killian circles around to the back of the castle, while you stay with the natives
  248.
  249. >”Hey Anton.”
  250. >You turn to Ms. Dash
  251. >”Are things like this usual for you guys?”
  252. >You tilt your head, not understanding
  253. >”I mean, going on adventures, fighting evil, stuff like that?”
  254.
  255. >You shrug, showcasing your shotgun
  256. >You wouldn’t call the Grandos campaign an adventure
  257. >Nor that expedition in the Aegis sector
  258.
  259. >But fighting the archenemy?
  260. >You all have
  261. >For most of your lives, broken up here and there by the many xenos that plague the galaxy
  262. >And while you have only limited experience fighting psykers, you have enough to respect their power
  263. >Which is why you don’t feel very worried about this one, given her ineffective methods
  264.
  265. >A swirling vortex inside the hall makes you reconsider
  266. >You and the natives run in and find the stones being swept up by the psyker’s warpfire
  267. >Ms. Sparkle jumps in, and the vortex disappears in a flash before you could get to it
  268.
  269. >The natives are frantic now, looking around in an effort to find out where the student went
  270.
  271. >You look out of the hall and spot light flashing from within a nearby tower
  272. >You quickly grab the natives’ attention and point to the tower, before leaping over the rubble and breaking into a run, hoping you won’t be too late
  273.
  274. ()()()
  275.
  276. >You are Krieg Grenadier 888211-115528-Killian
  277.
  278. >You were climbing up the steps of a ruined tower, hoping to get a vantage point, when light flashed from the top
  279.
  280. >You began to bound up the flights, hellgun already warmed up
  281.
  282. >When you reach the top, you are greeted with the sight of Ms. Sparkle charging the psyker herself
  283.
  284. >You continue sprinting, not wanting to risk a shot
  285. >You watch through non-fogging lenses as the distance between them closes, and the light on Ms. Sparkle’s head increases
  286. >They almost collide, when the Governess‘ student teleports to the other side of the room in a flash
  287. >The renegade stops, and looks back, oblivious to you
  288.
  289. >This is it
  290.
  291. >It is time to do what you were born to do
  292. >What you were destined to do as a pureborn Krieger
  293. >You ask the Emperor for one last bout of prowess that has kept you alive for too long
  294.
  295. >With bayonet affixed, you charge the heretic
  296.
  297. >You clear the distance in moments, enough for the damned psyker to turn around, even still oblivious to you
  298.
  299. >She prepares her warpfire, swirling it into a vortex above her
  300. >You don’t slow down and take one last step
  301.
  302. >You leap with your hellgun held high, intent on thrusting it down into her lightly-armored spine
  303.
  304. >The psyker notices you at the last instant
  305.
  306. >Searing, void borne fire slams into your side, sending you tumbling away from her
  307. >You recover as you stop and kneel, rifle raised
  308. >Flames lick at your greatcoat, but you couldn’t care less as you fill the tower with the CRACKs of your hellgun
  309.
  310. >The psyker concentrates as she uses her warpfire as a void shield, absorbing the beams as they hit
  311. >You keep firing
  312. >The rate of fire is great enough that the shots start to appear as a blossom of intense red-orange light
  313.
  314. >A beam zips through and hits home, hitting the renegade’s front armored leg
  315. >The armor holds, but the force of the hit throws the limb out from under her
  316. >She loses focus for a moment, allowing a couple more shots to break through
  317.
  318. >As her armor soaks up the beams, the psyker becomes more and more frustrated
  319.
  320. >As a shot hits her helmet, throwing her head back, she announces
  321.
  322. >”ENOUGH”
  323.
  324. >The warpfire closes around her, engulfing her and your last shots before it surges towards you
  325.
  326. >You ready yourself and take the one krak grenade you poses from your belt
  327.
  328.
  329. >You insert your thumb into the pin, waiting for the right moment
  330.
  331. >Instead of consuming you as expected, the pskyer launches herself out of the fire, letting out a scream not unlike an Eldar Banshee’s
  332.
  333. >You thrust your rifle forward as far as the cords allow it, bayonet gleaming in the moonlight
  334.
  335. >The renegade evades the blade barely
  336. >The refined mono-blade cuts the surface of her exposed cheek as she flies forward
  337.
  338. >Straight into you
  339. >You feel the respirator unit on your chest crumble under you coat, and the elongated horn slams into your helmet, throwing sparks everywhere
  340.
  341. >The renegade raises you into the air, before slamming you to the ground
  342. >Your brain bounces around in your skull, and air is forced from your bruised lungs
  343. >The renegade does not relent and stomps her armored legs straight into your chest with a CRUNCH
  344. >You can feel your sternum and ribs shattering, the splinters forced inwards
  345.
  346. >Your ears are ringing so hard now you barely hear what the psyker said to you
  347. >Something about filthy apes
  348.
  349. >Through fading vision you see her suddenly turning away from you
  350. >”NO!”
  351. >Warpfire consumes her once again, and she disappears from your darkening view
  352.
  353. >Pain
  354. >Never have you felt so much of it
  355. >You were lucky as a Krieger, with luck helping you escape grievous injury throughout your lowly life
  356. >Now you can hardly move with your insides smashed
  357.
  358. >But you can still move
  359. >And that psyker is still alive
  360. >You still have a job to do
  361.
  362. >You grit your teeth, and roll over
  363. >Splintered ribs poke at your lungs and stomach, some puncturing
  364. >You push yourself up onto your knees, realizing you still have the krak grenade in your hand
  365. >With a lung punctured, it’s near impossible to breathe now, but you can still breathe
  366. >You bring one leg up, then you push yourself onto the other
  367. >Splintered bone is shuffled around some more, cutting through more organs
  368.
  369. >Your legs are still good, so you turn around
  370. >The student is in the middle of the room, a look confusion on her face
  371. >The renegade is starting to laugh, the five stones around of her still inert
  372. >The psyker raises her legs high and slams the ground, causing the stones to shatter into dust
  373.
  374. >With that plan failed, you go with the Guard’s route
  375. >Your arms are still good, so you take the grenade in your throwing hand and pull the pin
  376.
  377. >With destroyed innards and a final breath, you go through the motions you were taught in basic:
  378.
  379. >Twist your torso to gain torque, throwing arm behind you
  380. >Bring weight to your back foot to build energy
  381. >Step forward, twisting your torso back to transfer energy from leg to body
  382. >Bring arm around, transferring energy into arm and grenade
  383. >Release grenade at angle relevant to distance
  384.
  385. >You fail to bring your other leg forward to catch yourself, and you fall to the cold stone
  386. >The impact drives a wayward splinter into your heart
  387.
  388. >The last thing you hear is a resounding BOOM and the cry of the renegade
  389. >You sleep with a smile on your bloody lips
  390.
  391. >You are Krieger 888-263-11555-55-Anton
  392. >You watch as Killian topples over
  393. >The rogue psyker declares the student will never see their Governess or the sun, and the night will last forever
  394. >Warpfire swirls overhead as she laughs, not noticing the small grey cylinder bouncing next to her
  395.
  396. >BOOM
  397. >The renegade lets out a cry as she’s thrown off the small platform
  398.
  399. >The Governess’ student drops low to the ground, covering her head
  400. >You ignore her and run past to make sure the rogue psyker is down permanently
  401.
  402. >As you approach, it’s clear she is not dead
  403. >Only just
  404. >The krak grenade is used mainly for destroying vehicles or heavily armored foes, by exploding in a concentrated blast
  405. >While the kill radius was much less than a frag grenade, Killian’s aim was impeccable
  406.
  407. >One of the renegade’s wings is obliterated
  408. >Her entire side is scorched and blistered, with some patches of skin gone completely
  409. >Smoke slowly rises from her as she labors for breath
  410.
  411. >You raise your shotgun, intent on finishing what Killian started
  412.
  413. >The psyker steals initiative
  414. >A single bolt of Tzeenchian lightning shoots from her chipped horn and into you
  415.
  416. >You are flung through the air and land right in front of the natives
  417. >Your shotgun flies to one side of the room, well out of your reach
  418.
  419. >”Anton!”
  420. >The natives come to your side, the agri-worker nuzzling you up to you knees while the rest face the renegade
  421.
  422. >The rogue psyker lifts herself up, her seared legs shaking
  423. >”Y-you horrid apes!
  424. >I don’t know what pit my sister found you two in, but it won’t matter once this land is consumed by eternal night.”
  425. >”That won’t happen, Nightmare Moon.” Declares Ms. Sparkle, stepping forward
  426.
  427. >The rogue psyker chuckles, wincing in pain
  428. >”Without the elements, you are helpless, little foal.”
  429.
  430. >”I don’t think so.” Shoots back the student, confidence evident in her voice
  431. >”I’ve realized something now:
  432. >The elements themselves may be gone, but the spirits of them are right here!”
  433.
  434. >You stand up, looking at the natives as the student gives them the titles of the elements
  435.
  436. >Honesty
  437. >Kindness
  438. >Laughter
  439. >Generosity
  440. >Loyalty
  441. >And the sixth element: Magic
  442.
  443. >The dust from the stones all begin to swirl around them gathering light and speed
  444. >They finally condense into jewelry, true relics newly formed before your eyes
  445.
  446. >The natives form together in the center of the room, a pure aura of light increasing in intensity around them
  447.
  448. >”No.
  449. >NO!”
  450.
  451. >You snap around and see a desperate look in the renegade’s eyes, and warpfire begins to form again
  452.
  453. >You whip out your entrenchment tool, complete with serrated edges, and throw it at the psyker
  454. >She bats it away easily, but it was enough of a distraction for you to run at her, sword bayonet in hand
  455.
  456. >Night blue warpfire sweeps you off your feet, burning through your coat as you’re tossed to the side
  457.
  458. >You roll on the stone to put out the flames, but they disappear all on their own accord
  459.
  460. >You look to the renegade quick enough to see her scream as she’s taken by a vortex of colors
  461.
  462. >The light increases in brightness to the point of blinding, and your lenses polarize in response
  463.
  464. >It reaches the end of its crescendo, and in an instant disappears
  465.
  466. >When your lenses return to normal, you stand up and look around
  467. >The place wasn’t leveled or bathed in holy fire, to your surprise
  468. >The natives were on the ground, unconscious but visibly unharmed
  469.
  470. >You look to the prone form of Killian
  471. >A pool of blood has accumulated around his head
  472.
  473. >You run over and kneel by him
  474. >You roll him over and note the blood leaking from his mask
  475. >His lenses are cracked and his respirator unit is smashed, seemingly damaged beyond repair
  476. >By reason only the Emperor knows, the Krieger was still breathing
  477.
  478. >The natives begin to stir, and you look up
  479. >They all wake up, and Ms. Applejack asks if they were all okay
  480.
  481. >Ms. Fluttershy comments on Ms. Rarity’s relic, who is delighted to have her tail regrown magically
  482. >They all take note of their newly acquired relics, and the agri-worker tells Ms. Sparkle
  483.
  484. >”I recon’, we all really do represent the Elements of Friendship.”
  485.
  486. >”Indeed, you do.” Says a new voice, reverberating in your head
  487.
  488. >A new light emerges, only this time you look out and see the sun rising fast
  489.
  490. >Out of the sun comes some form, encased in brilliant light
  491. >You realize it’s the Planetary Governess herself
  492.
  493. >She appears before her subjects, wings flexed
  494.
  495. >Stepping from behind her, breastplate shining bright in the sun, Captain Krumen comes to her side
  496. >Along with Kriegers Guntram, Armen, and Liesl
  497. >Your captain spots you, and the troop begins marching over
  498.
  499. >The natives bow to their leader, while the student runs to her
  500. >They embrace, and the Governess tells of how she knew of the renegades return, and the key was for Ms. Sparkle to “make some friends” and accept the power friendship brings
  501.
  502. >You stand up and salute
  503. >The four other Kriegers salute in response
  504. >The Captain turns to Guntram, the Shipment’s de facto medicae, and gestures to Killian
  505. >Guntram nods and begins taking the Grenadier’s smashed respirator off
  506.
  507. >”Now if only another will as well.”
  508.
  509. >You look to where the Governess is walking to and-
  510.
  511. >…the renegade
  512. >She’s changed
  513.
  514. >The armor is mostly gone, shattered and smoking, and the native herself has shrunk
  515. >Her features are…softer
  516. >She’s healed from the krak grenade as well
  517.
  518. >”Princess Luna…”
  519. >The renegade gasps as she bears the sight of her elder sister approaching her
  520.
  521. >You watch with intent, waiting for the elder’s judgment
  522.
  523. >You’re shocked when the sisters embrace, tears streaming down both their faces as the younger…apologizes
  524. >The elder forgives her, and then adds:
  525. >”But there is another you should make amends to.”
  526.
  527. >The natives notice you all gathered around your comrade
  528.
  529. >”Killian!”
  530. >Ms. Sparkle was the first to rush over, and the Kriegers allow her and the others to go to the Grenadier’s side
  531. >Guntram had removed the seals on his greatcoat, and had just removed his helmet
  532. >His matted blonde hair was speckled with crimson
  533. >The medicae then removes the mask itself
  534. >His bloody face was calm, and his lips had a slight upward curl to them
  535.
  536. >”I-is he gonna be okay?” asked Ms. Dash, unsure
  537. >Guntram merely stares at her
  538.
  539. >The clopping of fancy slippers fill the room, and the Governess and her sister appear over the Krieger
  540. >The Governess lowers her horn to him, and the tip of it begins to glow
  541. >After a moment of tension, the psykers declares: “He’ll live.”
  542. >Ms. Pie is now bouncing around, talking excitingly about how she’ll throw him a ‘get well real soon’ party.
  543.
  544. >As the native bounces around, the reformed sister kneels by Killian
  545. >She closes her eyes and her own horn glows
  546. >You tense up, only to be stopped by a gaze from the elder
  547.
  548. >Tears begin to flow anew
  549. >”He’s dreaming of fields that are gone.
  550. >Golden stalks swaying in a gentle breeze.
  551. >There…there are a few clouds.
  552. >The rain, it’s…soft.
  553. >Washing away everything.”
  554.
  555. >The sister began to sob
  556. >Everyone around her became quiet, the mood incredibly sober
  557. >With you next to her, you could hear Luna let out with uneven breath
  558. >”I-I’m sorry.”
