  1. <WindStrike> WHELP, ALL ABOARD THE DISASTER TRAIN
  2. <Gurloz> ikr
  3. <WindStrike> gimme about 5 minutes to figure something out, I need a rough idea to work with
  4. <WindStrike> *What a terrible fate Gurloz, the directionless man that tends to go off on his own, has... oh, to be traversing this very river in of itself is a fiendish task, but say no more, for it is I who should dare lead the way...
  5. <WindStrike> *You enter the top of a rolling river, one that leads downhill across wasteland of harrowing, hollowed-out trees as dark clouds make their thunderous debut from above. Bits and drips of raindrops begin to pitter-patter down. Their splashes make depictions of skulls across the river-face.*
  6. <WindStrike> *Err, to the side of the river, that is... unless you want to enter it directly.*
  7. <WindStrike> *You can attempt to reach the end either by river or the path next to the river. The skull markings are only visible directly on the surface of the river's water.*
  8. * Gurloz stays ashore.
  9. <WindStrike> *Think about it man... downhill current.... asides from a few scrapes and bruises from deadly rocks and painful trees, you'd be sure to reach the end in no time...
  10. <WindStrike> *.... or just do that.*
  11. * Gurloz trips across a random geodude which spurred the events in the other room. ... and rolls downhill about 30 feet.
  12. <WindStrike> *A few meters down this path is a door, with lit torches on either side of the door. It's not connected to any wall. As far as you can tell, it's a door standing in the middle of the path, and you're free to walk around it if you choose.*
  13. <WindStrike> *The geodude causes you to COME ON AND SLAM into the steps directly before the door.*
  14. * Gurloz face-plants on the steps of a door that's connected to nothing. What madness is this?
  15. * Gurloz gets up and dusts himself off, then walks around the door, examining it.
  16. <WindStrike> *As you waltz around and inspect the door, on to the other side, it appears the door isn't... there. ... what?*
  17. <WindStrike> *It's just a nice, wooden door with a steel frame that you might see as the entrance to a dark dungeon. Well, on one side at least.*
  18. * Gurloz waltz back around to the side he can see the door from, ... and uses Poke on the door.
  19. <WindStrike> *The door takes 1 damage... and grudes open just slightly. A darkness begins to ooze out from within, and moments later, you can hear a voice from inside.*
  20. * X_X is now known as Voice
  21. <Voice> Who? ... who's there?
  22. * Voice sounds both curious and scared, whatever it is.
  23. <Gurloz> "Gurloz."
  24. <Gurloz> "What is this madness I've stumbled across?"
  25. <Voice> Grr... Grr-loz.
  26. <Voice> Madness? No... I am no such thing, my friend. I am as humble as I am unseen!
  27. <Voice> ... that did not come out right.
  28. <Gurloz> "No wonder I can't see the rest of your home. All I see is a door."
  29. <Voice> A door? Why yes... that would appear to be my home.
  30. <Voice> If you are to open the door all the way, I would have no home to live in... and be forced into your world, kind sir.
  31. <Gurloz> "And who might you be?"
  32. <Voice> Ahh.... I am many things. A voice in the dark... a voice from the river... a voice from the rain. You may call me what you wish, and you may see me how you wish. ... what is it that you wish, Grr-loz?
  33. * DungeonMaster is now known as DM
  34. * DM is now known as DungeonMaster
  35. <Voice> ... do you not wish anything, Grr-loz?
  36. <Gurloz> "That's a good question. I seem to be going mad. Why can't I see the rest of the house?"
  37. <Voice> Very well then... you wish to see the rest of the house....
  38. <WindStrike> *The door shuts on you... before it unravels into a house, as if it's mechanically adding on to itself. A room to the right appears complete with a dark window, some roofing spawns over it, and the door is revamped into something more... homely. Home Improvement has made its case today.*
  39. <Voice> Yes yes... you may come in now.
  40. * Gurloz opens the door and walks inside.
  41. <WindStrike> *You walk inside, and instead of being greeted by the nice interior of a medieval home that would have rupee-filled pots.... you walk inside of a lack of floor..... and fall.*
  42. <WindStrike> *The next moment, you find yourself back at the start of the river, as if you never fell. Just... back at the start. No hearts damage.*
  43. <WindStrike> *The path continues onwards further this time, but in the distance, you can see that god darned door. I wonder if it has anything to do with my hatred towards doors?*
  44. * Gurloz scratches his head.
  45. * Gurloz follows the path, ... and walks around the door as he continues to follow the path.
  46. <WindStrike> *You walk around the door, and you follow the path for a little while....
  47. * Voice speaks as if right next to you.
  48. <Voice> Why did you ignore me, Grr-loz?
  49. <WindStrike> *Ahead, you can see the path... looking exactly like the dreary path you just walked. No change, and the sight of the entrance to the graveyard is still obscured in fog from afar.*
  50. <WindStrike> *That door becomes visible again. Doors these days...*
  51. * Gurloz pokes the door.
  52. <WindStrike> *The door opens slightly again, and the Voice from before speaks to you.*
  53. <Voice> Mr. Grr-loz. I see it is you again. What brings you to my doorstep, kind sir?
  54. <Gurloz> "It seems something brings your doorstep to me, actually."
  55. <Voice> Oh... I see now...
  56. <Voice> You're trying to get past this river towards... the graveyard, perhaps? Hue hue hue hue.....
  57. <Voice> There's nothing but death and despair there. Why go to a graveyard when you can chill with me?
  58. <Gurloz> "How could I chill with you if I enter your home and just fall, only to return to the start of this pathway?"
  59. <Voice> Hmm... that is an interesting point, kind sir.
  60. <Voice> Open the door this time... but don't walk in. See what happens.
  61. * Gurloz pushes the door open.
  62. <WindStrike> *You push the door open, only to be engulfed in a dark ooze... for a bit. The ooze pushes past you and reforms into a blurry, humanoid figure. It's like a walking stick figure, except super-blurred and distorted, and all you can see is white, glowy circles, also distorted. He's also wearing a house-roof as a hat. Pro.*
  63. <Voice> Hmm... what should I be called...
  64. <Voice> Oh... perhaps...
  65. * Voice is now known as Doorman
  66. <Doorman> Call me Doorman.
  67. * Gurloz face-palms.
  68. <Doorman> Is there something wrong with that, Grr.... oh... you look different from how I imagined.
  69. <Doorman> Grr, like a roar, and loz, like rules.... the Roar of Laws himself. Would that be you?
  70. * Gurloz is confused.
  71. * Doorman attempts to touch your head. Do you allow him?
  72. * Gurloz backs away.
  73. <Doorman> Oh? I simply wish to know you better.
  74. <WindStrike> *You back away, and where there would be a door that the Doorman just wandered out of, there appears to be the path, surrounded by two floating torches. They are now unlit.*
  75. <Doorman> Please? Will you allow me to touch your head?
  76. <Gurloz> "Floating torches? What is this sorcery?"
  77. <Doorman> Torches? What torches? I see only Roar of Laws, Grr-loz.
  78. <Gurloz> "Whats a roar of laws?"
  79. <WindStrike> (pronunciation-wise, loz = laws)
  80. <Doorman> You are.
  81. <Doorman> Knight of Light.
  82. * Gurloz suddenly becomes intrigued by the Doorman.
  83. <Doorman> Ahhh.... you see now, Roar of Laws, Keeper of Laws of Knights of Light?
  84. <Gurloz> "What do you know about the Knights of Light?"
  85. <Doorman> I know... something.... something shrouded in darkness....
  86. * Doorman seems to be pondering for a bit, before his eyes light up for an instant.
  87. <Doorman> Yes... Luekke still lives, does he not? But... where is he? Why does he not save the land from the looming threat?
  88. * Gurloz fails to see any eyes in the Doorman's distorted illusion.
  89. <WindStrike> *Where Doorman's eyes should be, you can see a pair of plot devices rattling like a lottery.*
  90. <Doorman> I see... I see now....
  91. <Doorman> You are not worthy, Grr of Loz.
  92. <Doorman> Maybe I should find him in your place. Would that please, Grr-loz?
  93. <Doorman> *please you
  94. <Gurloz> "No."
  95. <WindStrike> *Please me with your missing words, good sir Doorman. Typos, yo!*
  96. <Doorman> Oh... that's too bad. Without me, the world is a sadder place.
  97. * Doorman begins to mold into something more.... definite....
  98. * Gurloz enters battle-stance.
  99. <Doorman> I guess I'll just have to get rid of you then. How shall I do it...
  100. <Doorman> Ah yes... like this!
  101. * Gurloz uses a Restoration Heart.
  102. <Gurloz> 23h, 32m
  103. * Doorman eventually forms into a Dark-Link version of Gurloz, red eyes, dark skin and equipment and all.
  104. <Doorman> Oops. I'm an Interloper, it would seem. And I could certainly use a host....
  105. * Doorman is now known as Grrloz
  106. <Grrloz> Allow me to introduce myself... I am Grrloz, Knight of Light, and I shall take over your quest to find Luekke, for you are not worthy.
  107. <Gurloz> "If I am not worthy, then I wouldn't be confided to some magical door I could simply walk around."
  108. <Grrloz> Hue hue hue hue.... fine then. Defeat me, a door, if you are so worthy.
  109. * Grrloz draws a White Sword.... well, it's called that, but it looks more like a Dark Sword.
  110. * Grrloz also dawns a Dragonhide Tunic and a Magic Shield. Grrloz seems to have access to everything you do, except for Luekke's Blessing, and probably your Signature Move as well.
  111. * Gurloz draws his White Sword and raises Luekke's Blessing.
  112. <Gurloz> $init 1d13

  121. <Gurloz> "Too bad you are not me."
  122. <WindStrike> *Since it's a one-on-one, planning/action phases dropped, just include the relevant info in your action lines.*
  123. <WindStrike> *Grrloz is a complete copy of you, and his Light Affinity levels are switched out for Shadow Affinity levels. Additionally, all spells that would require Light affinity for him now require Shadow affinity.*
  124. <Grrloz> 23h, 32m
  125. * Grrloz smiles devilishly.
  126. * Gurloz casts Boost on himself for +4 wisdom as an extra support spell, then casts Penitence, Beta on Grrloz (Roll Wisdom!) | $54d10 / No damage, + Screwed by Spells

  141. <Grrloz> Grr...
  142. * Grrloz would try the Sunray Orb out, but it seems his limited powers prevent him from switching it to Shadow affinity.
  143. <Grrloz> Fine... I don't need to disable your shield. I just need to disable your life!
  144. * Grrloz casts Heaven's Silence, Shadow version on Gurloz! (Roll Wisdom) | $52d10, 6 burn damage (neutral) + Silenced Affliction

  159. * Grrloz almost hits, but the spirit of Luekke that burns within Gurloz fires a dice at Grrloz, causing the beam to hit a nearby tree. You shouldn't silence trees you know. That's dangerous for the environment.
  160. <Grrloz> Gah!

  162. <Grrloz> $endturn

  192. <WindStrike> 11 + 12 + 13 = 36 burn damage

  194. * Grrloz begins to deform into... something else? It's not the thing from before, it's not an Interloper... ...

  206. <WindStrike> *Do you back away again or let it use its dying breath to touch you?*
  207. * Gurloz holds his ground.
  208. <WindStrike> *The zombie taps your forehead. You can feel a slight prickle of blood as you take 1 bleed damage, but as it does, you see a vision...
  209. <Gurloz> 22h, 22m
  210. <WindStrike> *Your view distorts, switching you from the riverbank to... the base of Lon Lon Ranch? Well, it is on top of a tall mountain in the middle of Hyrule Field...
  211. <WindStrike> *You feel yourself draw closer to the base of the mountain. There seems to be a small cove in the side of the mountain... odd, that cove isn't normally there. A voice enchants your trippiness...*
  212. <GlowingLight> Bring the moonlight to this spot on the mountain, through a veil of darkness. Only then, may you enter my former home, the Sunlight Dungeon..... prison of Luekke.
  213. <WindStrike> *You immediately switch back to the riverbank. The two torches are lit and fallen to the ground. Ahead of you, the fog has dissipated, and you can see the entrance to the graveyard from here.*
