  1. > several weeks pass
  2. > My friendships have been properly restored, and little has gone wrong
  3. > I spend much of my time walking about town, making friends, and performing tasks assigned to me by my freinds
  4. > One day, as I'm running a chore for the fruit farmer, a falcon lands nearby
  5. > I watch it preening, such a majestic creature
  6. > It stares at me, initially looking merely for observation
  7. > The gaze then turns to malice
  8. > The bird shoots toward me, talons out
  9. > I dodge to the left, nearly landing in a food cart
  10. > the bird returns
  11. > I catch it by the legs
  12. > It pecks at my hand
  13. > I hear the quiet one approach
  14. Fluttershy, get this bird under control
  15. > the quiet one takes the bird from me, as I nurse my bleeding hand
  16. > "Now now there Mr. Falcon, no need to go acting up like that"
  17. > she stares at it with determination
  18. > the falcon returns the glare
  19. > the bird flies away
  20. > "Anon, are you alright?"
  21. I will have a doctor treat my hand, why did the bird attack?
  22. > "I don't know....he just did"
  23. > I finish my chore from applejack, and go to the doctor's building
  24. > "oh my, what did this?"
  25. an enraged falcon
  26. > "well don't worry, we'll get you fixed up"
  27. > The doctor applies medicine, and bandages the wound
  28. My appreciation, doctor
  29. > "it's my job, Anon"
  30. > I pay what is due, and head home
  31. > I explain what happened to the night sky
  32. > "oh my, are you alright?"
  33. I will be fine, the doctor administered his care
  34. > We sleep
  35. > I arise the next morning, forgetting of my hand
  36. > I attempt to use it, and it stings
  37. > I now remember
  38. > I go to the forest, to speak with the nubian horse
  39. > "It is nice to see you again Anon, what problems do you have going on?"
  40. I was attacked by a falcon, it should be fine
  41. > "Don't you find it a bit strange, that a bird would become so deranged?"
  42. It doesn't make sense, but I am unconcerned
  43. > "if that is how you feel, then with luck you will need a great deal"
  44. > I dismiss her statements, and leave
  45. > I stumble upon an investigation in town
  46. What is the trouble?
  47. > "several ponies have gone missing"
  48. > could the Nubian horse be right?
  49. > I question the guard
  50. What do you know so far?
  51. > "the ponies have disappeared, there seems to be signs of a struggle, that's all we've got"
  52. a ponynapper?
  53. > "We think so, though we don't know who"
  54. > I return home, pondering the strange events of the past few days
  55. > first a falcon attacks, then ponies disappear
  56. > "what's bothering you?"
  57. I do not understand what is going on recently
  58. > "it is strange"
  59. > I spend half the night pondering, before I succumb to sleep
  60. > I awake the next day, with very little progress made
  61. > I dawn another tunic, and begin my search for answers
  62. > I walk around town
  63. > I spy a shadow circling above
  64. > the falcon returns
  65. > it dives for me
  66. > I attempt to dodge, but it grabs my by the shoulder
  67. > I swat at it, but it holds firm
  68. > I let out a yell
  69. > the bird speaks
  70. > "you, human, who is so beloved by the gods, are nothing more than mortal, see how you bleed"
  71. You speak the truth, bird
  72. > "I am no bird, I am Seker"
  73. > talons swipe my cheek
  74. > the bird releases and flies away
  75. > I return to the doctor, and am bandaged once more
  76. > I consider what has happened
  77. Seker, god of death, has made himself known. He's tested my mortality. Was it a challenge?
  78. > I walk into the Twilight's house, hoping for insight
  79. > "Yes Anon, how can I help you?"
  80. I need insight, I have been attacked by Seker, god of death.
  81. > "What happened?"
  82. He drew my blood, and declared me mortal
  83. > "Sounds like he was testing you"
  84. for what purpose?
  85. > "That....I can't tell you"
  86. > I thank her, and depart.
  87. > the guards are here again
  88. > more disappearances
  89. > Rarity is among them
  90. what is Seker doing?
  91. > I return home, and pray to Thoth
  92. Oh wisest of beings, deliver unto me the knowledge I seek. Where may I find the answer to my questions?
  93. > A bird flutters by the window
  94. > I exit my home, to see the bird flying toward a mountain
  95. Seker must have evil planned for Thoth, the neutral judge, to intervene
  96. > I head to the mountain, in search of the answer
  97. > the trek lasts most of the day, I set a camp near the mountain in the evening
  98. > I would swear that chanting was coming from the mountain
  99. > I awake in the morning, determined to find my answers
  100. > I scale the winding road up the mountain
  101. > each step, dangerously close to falling
  102. > I find a cave
  103. > my ears detect a word
  104. > "Amenta"
  105. land of the dead
  106. > I enter the cave
  107. > a small light flickers in the distance
  108. > I race to the light, and find an alter surrounded by torches
  109. > I see a doorway in a wall
  110. > I enter the room, carrying a torch, and see several mummies
  111. > These mummies are shaped like ponies, and upon my entering, several of them move
  112. > "ammph, mmph!"
  113. > I move to the speaking mummy
  114. > It appears to be in a good state, not decayed, doesn't even look embalmed
  115. > It isn't embalmed
  116. > I tear a hole in the mouth
  117. > it's Rarity
  118. > "Anon, there's a bird man"
  119. Seker
  120. > "he wrapped us up, said we're going to meet our new master"
  121. What is his plan
  122. > I hear a screech, and turn to see a man, with the head of a blue falcon
  123. > "Mortal! What are you doing here?"
  124. Why have you taken my companions captive?
  125. > "Kek"
  126. > My heart stops
  127. Why?
  128. > "the Lord Kek will cleanse this world"
  129. Anubis would never allow such a travesty
  130. > "Ha! Anubis! He has no power"
  131. > Two anubites leap from the shadows
  132. > Seker strikes them down
  133. > "Now, I must finish the ceremony"
  134. > Seker vanishes
  135. > a bone pony now arises from the shadow
  136. > it looks intent on claiming my soul as its own
  137. > a mace in the shape of a Jackal head appears in my hand
  138. > I strike at the bone pony, and it dissipates, Anubis reclaiming the creature.
  139. > I work at unbinding the ponies
  140. > Chanting is heard from the alter
  141. > Rarity is clear, and we work quickly to untie the others
  142. > I lead the ponies out of the room
  143. > Seker is not at the altar
  144. > We quickly flee from the cave
  145. > "Anon, are we safe?"
  146. without sacrifices, he can't summon Kek
  147. > "we were sacrifices?!"
  148. you would have been
  149. > the ponies flee, I return to the cave, intent on removing Seker from this world
  150. > Seker is back at the altar
  151. > He places a lizard on the altar
  152. > I quickly rush at him, the mace still in my hand
  153. > He dodges, appearing to have glided out of the way
  154. > he turns around, still chanting
  155. > I strike again, and hit on the wing
  156. > Seker screeches momentarily, and kicks out with a talon
  157. > He claws my wrist
  158. > I drop the mace
  159. > I use my other hand to attack his claw
  160. > I grab hold of the leg, and bend it
  161. > Seker releases my hand
  162. > He reaches the climax in his chanting
  163. > I re-wield my mace, and hit on the right shoulder
  164. > Seker collapses on the ground, laughing
  165. What do you find amusing?
  166. > "The futility of your struggle"
  167. > I bring the mace down on his head, Seker vanishes, brought to the Amenta to be judged by Osiris
  168. > I am leaving the cave, when the reptile writhes
  169. > it squirms as if possessed
  170. no
  171. > The reptile's stomach bursts, and a reptile headed man steps out of the beast
  172. > "Ahh. So good to join the realm of mortals once more"
  173. Kek
  174. > "Oh, a mortal, how pleasant"
  175. > he raises a hand
  176. > all the torches in the room extinguish
  177. > I am blinded by the darkness
  178. Kek, you are not meant for this world
  179. > "but it will be MINE!"
  180. > I am flung from the cave
  181. > I arise, to find Kek standing over me
  182. > "I had feared you, knowing of the support you receive from the gods, but Seker was right, you are but a mortal"
  183. > the reptile hissed, before vanishing in a cloud of darkness
  184. > I ran as fast as I could toward home, praying it would not be too late
  185. > I found the village undisturbed
  186. > I waited anxiously, on guard so that whenever he might strike, I would be prepared.
  187. > the day passed without conflict
  188. > night arrived
  189. > a scream let out in the dark
  190. > I took the night sky's chariot, and rode to the scream
  191. > Kek was there, using the darkness to engulf and suck the life out of ponies
  192. his journey into this world has made him weak
  193. > an arrow from the bow of Ra interrupts his siphon
  194. > Kek directs himself to me
  195. > "How dare you mortal! I will bring death to these creatures"
  196. None but you will see their deaths
  197. > A shadow lashes out to me
  198. > I gallop from it, but it knocks the chariot
  199. > I fire an arrow, which brushes past Kek's robe
  200. > I ride circles around Kek, firing many arrows
  201. > Kek nimbly dodges each
  202. > Kek retaliates by forming minions from the night
  203. > Scarabs climb onto the chariot, and begin to eat at my flesh
  204. > I leap from the chariot, landing on a nearby building
  205. > I launch several more arrows, to little effect
  206. > the darkness of the night surrounds me, and binds me
  207. > Kek levitates his way to me
  208. > "You are but a mortal, how did you expect to defeat me?"
  209. > I struggle against my bindings
  210. > "hold STILL!"
  211. > He strikes my stomach, and I cough blood
  212. > "I will conquer this land, and you, mortal, will watch from the afterlife"
  213. > his hand glows
  214. > I feel the life draining from me
  215. > a blast of the sun lands on Kek
  216. > my bindings release and Kek recoils
  217. > a Petsuchos has been sent by the gods
  218. > the crocodile summons blasts of light from the adornment on his head
  219. > Kek recovers, and attempts to counter the light blasts
  220. > his darkness meets the light
  221. > gradually, his darkness begins to overpower the light
  222. > the Petsuchos fights, summoning all of his power to fight the god
  223. > the darkness meets the crocodile
  224. > the Petsuchos is enveloped, and absorbed
  225. > In the distraction, I receive a spear from Horus
  226. > I jab at Kek, and land a stab just below the ribs
  227. > Kek recoils, infuriated by my ability to injure him
  228. The gods are on my side Kek
  229. > "The gods cannot do enough to save you"
  230. > Kek floats around me, tauntingly out of reach
  231. > He sends a blast of darkness
  232. > I roll
  233. > he sends another while I recover from the roll
  234. > I am hit
  235. > he approaches as I attempt to recover
  236. > I thrust once more, and hit in the chest
  237. > it is a shallow wound
  238. > he removes the spear, and discards it
  239. > "You are trying my patience mortal. Now is your end"
  240. > he holds out his hand
  241. > I feel as the darkness crawls upon me
  242. > It penetrates, into my heart
  243. > my ribs are shattered
  244. > I utter a silent prayer, fearing my death is upon me.
  245. > I begin to fade
  246. > my heart begins to slow
  247. > the life is sucked from me, and I begin to go limp
  248. > I desperately continue my prayer, in hopes the gods may yet have something to bring me from the edge of death
  249. > I feel something crawling from my throat
  250. > An asp emerges from my throat
  251. > it lashes at Kek, striking him in the throat
  252. > its venom is quick to take effect
  253. > Wadjet, protector of the land, has poisoned Kek
  254. > Kek drops to the ground, writhing in pain
  255. > "You...you worthless human! Why do you carry such favor with the gods?!"
  256. > I retrieve my spear
  257. > Kek is on the roof, convulsing from asp venom, and hissing in pain
  258. I don't carry favor with the gods, you carry their hatred
  259. > The darkness still saps my life
  260. > I thrust the spear through Kek's heart
  261. > he falls limp
  262. > I fade to darkness
  263. > the last thing I see is the body of Kek and the spear disintegrate
  264. > I find myself in a darkness
  265. > ruby eyes glow as a jackal headed man forms before me
  266. > he speaks, without speaking
  267. > "Anon, you have done well to stop Kek"
  268. I have passed
  269. > "Yes, but your time is not. You have been spared the afterlife, and shall be reborn, to guard those from unjust harm"
  270. I thank thee for your blessings
  271. > I awake, in a hospital bed
  272. > no one is present
  273. > I find I cannot move
  274. > a nurse enters the room
  275. > "oh good, you're finally awake"
  276. Why can I not move?
  277. > "well it seems that your fight drained a lot out of you. It's a wonder you're still alive at all"
  278. When will I recover?
  279. > "at least a few weeks, I'll have to ask the doctor"
  280. > "oh is he awake, how wonderful"
  281. Doctor, when will I recover?
  282. > "I'd say you can be removed from the hospital in two weeks, but you won't be able to do much for at least a month and a half"
  283. > I sigh
  284. my gratitude is with you doctor
  285. > the doctor replaces my IV, and I find myself sleepy
  286. > "We're keeping you on pain medicines, so you will be more tired"
  287. > I re-adjust my head, and fall asleep once more
