  22. Dmg First of all, DAMAGE TYPES
  23.
  24. BRUTE: Caused by physical attacks. These can cause bleeding, broken bones, internal bleeding, and if shot with a projectile gun(like a revolver), can leave a foreign body lodged inside, which causes constant damage. You naturally recover over time from brute damage. Brute damage to organs is incurable by medicine and is caused mostly by toxin. Extreme pressure and a lack of pressure can both cause brute. Brute damage heals naturally over time.
  25.
  26.
  27.
  28. Treatments: Bandages, first and foremost. Expediates healing, stops external bleeding. Bicaridine heals at roughly 1.4 points per tick. Tricordrizine does .5 per tick. They stack together Bicaridine can cure both internal bleeding and damage caused by foreign bodies. More on that in the medicine section. Milk cures .5 per tick, and fixes broken bones as well at .5 per tick. It can take some time to fix it, the pain flavor text will remain, and when scanned, broken bones will remain; for all intents and purposes it will be fixed however.
  29.
  30.
  31.
  32.
  33. BURN: Caused by lasers and extreme temperatures(both hot and cold). Not as bad as brute, as there are few lingering effects, however healing won't begin unless ointment or medicine is administered.
  34.
  35.
  36.
  37.
  38. Treatments: Ointment begins the healing process. Kelotane heals at about .5 per tick. Dermaline heals at 1.5 per tick. Kelotane does 1 per tick. Tricord does .5 per tick. They all stack.
  39.
  40.
  41.
  42.
  43. TOXIC: Caused by toxins, radiation, ODing on medicine, and harmful chemicals, such as welder fuel and chloral hydrate.
  44.
  45.
  46.
  47.
  48. Treatments: Anti toxin first and foremost. While 5 units of anti tox can begin to treat the damage of 15 toxin, 15 antitox is needed to at least counter it, or toxins continue to rise. This does NOT mean that more anti tox cures more; it simply means by matching the amount of toxins in a system, the anti tox can stop the toxin damage from accruing. Furthermore, when in critical and with inaprovaline in the system, toxin damage seems to get stronger in the sense that you must exceed the toxins in the system. In other words, if someone with 15 toxin in their system crits, they will need an excess of 15 to counter and begin the healing process.
  49.
  50. Radiation is a different kind of toxin altogether. It can still be treated with anti toxin, however, it can also be treated with hyronalin and arithrizine, and these all stack. Not too sure how fast these heal, but if it's like kelotane and dermaline, I would say Hyron is 1 point per tick, and arithrizine is 1.5. Both can OD in excess of 30 units. In excess of 30 units, arithrizine causes brute damage, but nothing life threatening. More on that in the medicine section.
  51.
  52. ODing is a separate form of toxin damage. When you OD from taking too much of a useful substance, for example bicaridine or hyperzine, until you process the substance down to safe levels, you will continue to take toxin damage. As long as you have activated charcoal(you get this from the vending machines) in your system, you won't be ODing, however, it's the only way to combat an OD.
  53.
  54. Antitox heals 1 per tick, Tricord .5 per tick, Hyronalin, and Arithrizine all stack; Hyronalin and arithrizine, however, ONLY treat radiation toxins.
  55.
  56.
  57.
  58.
  59. OXYGEN DEPRIVATION: Caused by a lack of air or a ruptured lung. The chemical lexorin also causes this. It's also caused by being in critical, as this causes one not to breathe.
  60.
  61.
  62.
  63.
  64. Treatments: DexalinPlus heals all damage instantly. Dexalin heals at about the same rate as CPR, around 3-5 per tick and stacks with CPR. Surgery is the only way to beat a ruptured lung, however, dexalin and dexplus can be used to counter this damage, as long as these are in your system. In the case of a critical person, inaprovaline freezes the suffocation damage from occurring. For example, dexplus and inaprovalin will remove all damage and keep it at that level. More about these in the medicine section.
  65.
  66.
  67.
  68.
  69. BRAIN DAMAGE: Doesn't affect being alive. Can make you unable to operate machines and consoles.
  70.
  71.
  72. Treatment: Alkysine and surgery.
  73.
  74.
  75.
  76. PAIN DAMAGE: Consider pain damage a hidden value which causes the associated flavor pain texts to pop up. They accrue, per point of damage, as follows:
  77.
  78.
  79. Fire: 2.5 Clone Dmg: 2 Brute: 1.5 Oxy: 1 Tox: .5 Halluc: 1(When tripping, the amount to which you are hallucinating causes the pain index to go up.)
  80. A broken organ causes 30 pain, and a destroyed one causes 60.
  81.
  82. Pretty much, the more pain you experience, the more likely you are to be incapacitated; so, at 50 burn damage, you experience 150 pain, and are very likely to fall down and experience the "PLEASE JUST MAKE IT STOP" flavor text.
  83.
  84.
  85.
  86. Treatments: Alkysine, Inaprovaline, Tramadol, and Oxycodone all cure pain damage, at 10, 25, 80, and 200 per tick per unit. Oxycodone is clearly the best, but it involves plasma to make, and so can be an expensive, though useful, investment early round. 1u pills would probably be best, and tramadol is a decent second in 5-10u pills. Wouldn't be a bad idea to give security some, but you'd have to explain why they ought to take them in the first place. Hyperzine can shorten the stun time caused by pain, but NOT end the pain itself.

  95.
  96. MT (MEDICINE TYPES)
  97.
  98. A brief explanation on medicine. Medicine cures per tick, similar to how you can only do an action during every tick. Similarly, you can only take damage in ticks as well. If you give someone 500 units of dermaline, they heal for a looong time, but no faster than normal. Units don't go down 1 per tick in the system, but bits by bits. So, 5 antitox cures exactly 25 toxic damage. However, 15 can cure 82 toxic damage, not because of more damage cured, but more time in the system.
  99.
  100.
  101.
  102. BICARIDINE
  103. Bicaridine is fairly complicated. It cures 1 per tick. Above 29 units is an overdose, with 1 toxin damage per tick. This is easily countered by antitox and activated charcoal. If bicaridine in overdose levels is used to cure damage which caused internal bleeding, it will stop the bleeding once the damage is gone. When a foreign body is present, constant brute damage occurs(the more bodies present, the more damage which occurs through stacking). Cryo will not cure this damage, BUT bicaridine can cure this damage, and once the damage is to zero, the damage no longer accrues. With three foreign bodies, this is very difficult and takes forever. Four bodies makes brute damage occur faster than it can be cured. Therefore, bicaridine is fine to deal with internal bleeding or one to two foreign bodies, but be wary of medbay's wild ride. Either way, this particular treatment is dangerous and only had niche uses, outside of curing brute damage.
  104.
  105. In chemistry, there is a bottle of 30u inaprovaline. Large beaker, 50u carbon, two of those pills, and you have 100u bicard with a little inaprov wasted.
  106.
  107. If ODing someone with bicard, administer 1u of antitox for every unit over 29 as well as some charcoal. Stacks with milk.
  108.
  109.
  110. MILK
  111. Milk cures .5 brute per tick. It also heals broken bone damage at the same rate. Therefore, a broken arm with 15 damage will heal in about 30 ticks(anywhere from 2-5 minutes), assuming you give them enough milk to last long enough to cure it. It's good to put this into cryo, as it can heal a bone or two while they're sitting, making surgery unneccessary. Stacks with bicard.
  112.
  113.
  114. KELOTANE AND DERMALINE
  115. Kelotane cures 1 point burn damage per tick. 50 silicon and 50 carbon makes 100 kelotane. Dermaline cures 1.5 per tick. A burn kit has 30u kelotane, which combined in a large beaker with 30 oxygen and 30 phosphorous makes 90 dermaline. There is no overdose for these. 50 carbon and 50 silicon makes 100 kelotane. These medicines stack together for healing.
  116.
  117.
  118. LEOPORAZINE
  119. Sets the body temperature at its natural setting. This means space doesn't suck your heat out, and you can stand in a plasma fire without being burned. However: Note that in space, there is still pressure, and in a fire you still gain the natural burn damage, so using this in large doses and supplementing with cures for brute, burns, and so on are helpful, as well as pain medicine.
  120.
  121.
  122.
  123. DEXALIN
  124. Cures as much as CPR, there is no OD limit. Can somewhat counter a busted lung and help if you know you'll be in space. You can find them in med storage and a couple of 02 lockers. Outside of medbay, using the inaprovaline, dexalin, and DD can go a long way towards making someone survive the trip to medbay, or even recover. If medbay is unavailable, this, and whatever food is around can possibly save someone.
  125.
  126.
  127.
  128.
  129. DEXALIN PLUS
  130. Cures ALL oxygen deprivation damage INSTANTLY. 1u is all you need. However, there is no OD limit, so if you have, say, 50u in your system, the game will check that on occasion, and undo all oxygen damage that has been done, negating that breathing thing organisms do.
  131.
  132. Large beaker, 30 iron, 30 carbon, and a 30 dexalin pill makes 90 dexalin plus.
  133.
  134.
  135.
  136.
  137. ANTI TOXIN
  138. Anti tox cures one point per tick. As long as the toxin(toxin, chloral, welding fuel, whatever) exceeds the antitox, toxin damage continues to accrue. Until they at least match, actual curing won't occur.
  139.
  140. In this sense, throwing as many 50u AntiTox pills is your best bet, to be safe, until toxin damage stops or begins curing. Radiation is slightly different.
  141.
  142.
  143.
  144.
  145. HYRONALIN
  146. Cures radiation toxin damage, 29 plus causes OD toxin damage. Doesn't cure toxin damage unless radiation based.
  147.
  148.
  149.
  150.
  151. INAPROVALINE
  152. When in critical damage, freezes damage. Does not freeze toxin damage, outside of the extra caused by being in crit. Freezes damage caused by foreign bodies causing constant brute damage. So, typically, all inaprovaline really does most of the time is freeze the suffocation damage from being in crit.
  153.
  154. A great combination for an inaprovaline pill is 1u DexPlus. This is because the DexPlus will cure all the suffocation damage, and then freeze it there. Giving these to Paramedics truly saves lives. You can't OD on inaprovaline. Adding antitox to someone with inaprov will make it change into tricord in their body, taking away both of their effects.
  155.
  156.
  157.
  158. ARITHRIZINE
  159. Cures all radiationinstantly and toxin damage over time, 29 plus causes OD toxin damage. Doesn't cure toxin damage other than radiation. Having it in your system causes .2 brute damage per tick, but you naturally heal more than that. Mostly a minor set back, though it can ruin organs over time, so it's best to be used in small doses.
  160.
  161.
  162.
  163. ALKYSINE
  164. Cures brain damage. About 1% per tick. In excess of 29 units, it's OD, with toxin damage, which would cure waaaay more brain damage than you could ever have. Also cures some pain.
  165.
  166.
  167.
  168. TRICORDRAZINE
  169. Cures a small percentage of all damage types per tick. Great when combined with bicaridine, antitoxin, dermaline, kelotane, anything. Stacks with them all.
  170.
  171.
  172.
  173. DOCTOR'S DELIGHT
  174. Cures a much larger percentage of all damage types per tick. Combines with everything, just like tricord.
  175.
  176.
  177.
  178. RYETALIN
  179. 1u cures all genetic defects, better than a clean SE in the sense that you can make hundreds of those. Also takes away superpowers.
  180.
  181.
  182.
  183. SYNAPTIZINE
  184. 1u is enough to cure mindbreaker toxin. DO NOT EXCEED THIS DOSAGE. It causes loads of toxin damage, and can easily kill someone.
  185.
  186.
  187.
  188. RADIUM
  189. Not a medicine, it's actually an ingredient. However, it can cure a disease. Use with equal parts of hyronalin or arithrizine to counter the toxic damage it causes. NOTE: Intravenous mixing occurs; if you inject someone with ten radium and then ten antitox, you now have no anti tox or radium, and have 20 hyronalin.
  190.
  191.
  192. O POSITVE BLOOD
  193. If you can get enough of this, this can be given as a medicine the same as an IV. Bit rare for that though.
  194.
  195. IRON
  196. Another good ingredient. As long as this is in their system, they recover blood faster.
  197.
  198. FOOD/NUTRIMENT
  199. Nutriment is just ground up food. This also speeds up blood recovery, and stacks with iron. If you order pizza from cargo, this is a good source of nutriment; the meat pizza in particular grinds up for 50u nutriment, which in a large beaker you can fill the rest up with iron for a perfect blood loss mix.
  200.
  201.
  202. SPACEACILLIN
  203. Cures some minor diseases, like colds, and can slow other diseases down. No need to make it really, as they can be vended. It's easy to make though, and sometimes a bunch of pills doesn't hurt, especially in a big outbreak.
  204.
  205.
  206. TRAMADOL/OXYCODONE
  207. Both cures pain. Tramadol does about 80, Oxycodone does about 200. Better for use in combat than after the fact, because once the damage causing it is gone the pain tends to be gone as well.
  208.
  209.
  210.
  211. QM (QUICK MIXING)
  212.
  213.
  214. These all require a large beaker
  215.
  216.
  217. Bicaridine: 50u carbon, inaprovaline pills are in the top left of chem; add two, 100u Bicard
  218.
  219.
  220. Dermaline: 30u oxygen and phosphorous, 30u kelotane pill
  221.
  222.
  223. Dexalin Plus: 30u iron and carbon, 30u dexalin pill from an oxygen kit
  224.
  225.
  226. Kelotane: 50u carbon and silicon
  227.
  228.
  229. Tricordrazine and Doctor's Delight: Top left of chem are four bottles, two each of inaprovaline and anti tox. Put a bottle of each into a large beaker, throw away. Grab two more, add twenty of each, 100u tricord. Add the remaining 10 of both to another large beaker, which makes 20 tricord. To the 20 tricord beaker, add 20 OJ, lime juice, milk cream, and tomato juice.
  230.
  231.
  232. Cryoxodone: 30u oxygen and water, 30u dexalin pill
  233.
  234.
  235. Leoporazine: 5u Plasma, 45u copper and silicon, pill out into two pills, rinse and repeat
  236.
  237.
  238. Antitox: 30u nitrogen, potassium, silicon
  239.
  240.
  241. Alkysine: 25u chlorine and nitrogen, 1 30u antitox pill, 50u alkysine.
  242.
  243.
  244.
  245.
  246.
  247.
  248.
  249. GM (GOOD MIXES FOR PILLS AND BEAKERS)
  250.
  251.
  252. Brute: Large beaker 50/50 milk and bicard, OR 25/25/25/25 bicard/milk/tricord/dd
  253. If pilling, with the 50/50 make ten pills for 5u milk/bicard for each pill. With 25/25/25/25 make five pills for 5u milk/bicard/tricord/dd for each pill.
  254.
  255.
  256. Burn: Large beaker 50/50 kelotane and dermaline, OR 25/25/25/25 dermaline/kelotane/tricord/dd If pilling, with the 50/50 make ten pills for 5u kelotane/dermaline for each pill. With 25/25/25/25 make five pills for 5u kelotane/dermaline/tricord/dd for each pill.
  257.
  258.
  259. Blood Loss: Large beaker 50/50 iron and nutriment. To pill out, make ten pills for 5u iron/nutriment and administer more pills as needed. It wouldn't hurt to make twenty of these just in case. Surgeon benefits the most from having access to this.
  260.
  261.
  262. Critical Patients/Defib/OxyLoss/Improved Inaprovaline: Large beaker, 90u inaprovaline, 10u dexalin plus, make ten pills; this gives you pills at 9u inaprov 1u dexplus, more than enough to transport a patient, defib someone, keep them alive for blood transfusion, etc etc, and are easy and fast to make(10u dexalin plus, three of the inaprovaline pills in the top left of chemistry)
  263.
  264.
  265. Makeshift Virus Cure: Large beaker, 10u arithrizine, 50u radium, 20u hyronalin, 10u tricord, 10u doctor's delight, 9u inaprov, 1u dexalin plus, 10 pills. These don't always work, but the mix helps ensure they don't die in the process of trying to cure them.
  266.
  267.
  268. Security: It wouldn't hurt to give them some brute and burn healing stuff. Antitox isn't a big worry for them most of the time. However, some hyperzine and oxycodone/tramadol pills wouldn't hurt(be mindful of the OD limit and be sure to remind them of it).
  269.
  270.
  271. General Damage Cure: 50/50 Tricord/Doctor's Delight. 'Nuff said.
  272.
  273.
  274.
  275.
  276.
  277.
  278.
  279. CYO (CRYO)
  280.
  281. A few things about cryo.
  282.
  283.
  284.
  285. A proper cryo mix has several things. It should have, in order of importance:
  286.
  287. Cryoxodone(General heal and genetic heal)
  288. Clonexodone(Big genetic heal)
  289. Dexalin Plus(Instant oxygen heal)
  290. ---
  291. Ryetalin(Genetic cure)
  292. Alkysine(Brain Damage)
  293. ---
  294. Iron(Blood)
  295. Nutriment(Blood)
  296. O positive blood(Blood)
  297. Milk(Brute, broken bones)
  298. ----
  299. Bicaridine(Brute)
  300. Kelotane(Burn)
  301. Dermaline(Burn)
  302. Antitox(Toxin)
  303. Hyronalin(Radiation)
  304. Tricord(General Damage)
  305. Doctor's Delight(Big General Damage)
  306. ----
  307. Hyperzine(Get up quick and go in emergencies)
  308. Leoporazine(In case stuff is on fire)
  309.
  310. Now this is MOST important: As far as the rationing goes, 10u cryox and clonex: The rest can be ANY amount of any of it. I typically go for 5u of each for convenience. As the mix drains down, you just add more clonex and cryox to it; as long as there is still some beneficial drugs in the mix, it doesn't matter how much, they all still take effect, just don't ever let it all out.
  311.
  312. For the Alkysine, Antitox, Hyronaline, and Ryetalin, if you take 20 antitox, add radium, hydrogen, carbon, chlorine and nitrogen, then set it in the chem master so you have 10 of each alk, hyro, ryet, and anti, you can then pour this twice into two large beakers to instantly part out a proper amount.
  313.
  314. Furthermore, WHILE IN CRYO, PEOPLE DO NOT BLEED. Cryo continues metabolism of reagents and drugs, BUT, YOU DO NOT BLEED.
  315.
  316.
  317.
  318.
  319.
  320.
  321.
  322. DEFIBZ (DEFIBBING THE DEAD)
  323.
  324. Set the body in front of Cryo. Go grab the Defib. Make sure the Janitor/Cargo Tech/Cyborg doesn't drag the dead off to cloning, and repeatedly tell you 'he dead'. Calmly tell them to fuck off, you're a doctor, there may still be time.
  325.
  326.
  327.
  328. Pay attention to the medical scan; before you defib the body, there are several things you can treat. You can NOT use bandages or ointments on a dead body. You can use almost everything else though.
  329.
  330. 1 Low blood? Iron and nutriment, and proper blood type.
  331. 2 Lots of Oxygen Damage? DexPlus and inaprovaline, to prevent it happening again.
  332. 3 Burn? Kelo/Derma/Tricord/DD mix
  333. 4 Brute? Bicard, Milk, tricord, DD.
  334. 5 Toxin? I would recommend 100-150 antitox and tricord because sometimes the poisoning is that bad. Scan them. If they have radiation damage, you can add hyronalin and arithrizine. Also remember your PDA has a reagent scanner which can tell you what substances are in their system( If they are ODing on hyperzine, for example, give them charcoal as well)
  335.
  336.
  337.
  338. Now, none of these things will help improve their health to be defibbed. BUT if you defib and they come back to life, this kind of treatment before hand prevents them from worsening(stops/slows bleeding, damage) until you can get them into Cryo, and from there, surgery or wherever.
  339.
  340.
  341.
  342. IN ORDER TO DEFIB NOW THAT YOU HAVE TREATED THEM BEFORE TRYING TO DEFIB
  343. In one hand, the defib, turned on.
  344. The other hand empty.
  345. Make sure cryo is on.
  346. Grab once with empty hand.
  347. Take off their UNIFORM and their EXOSUIT. This increases the defib chance.
  348. Switch hands.
  349. Defib until successful.
  350. Switch to grab hand.
  351. Click cryo.
  352.
  353.
  354.
  355. You just saved a guy like five minutes. Unless he's dead, take him to cloning.
  356.
  357.
  358.
  359.
  360.
  361. (SURGEY) SURGERY
  362. Wash your hands.
  363. Use Help intent.
  364. Don't do anything but the surgery.
  365.
  366.
  367.
  368. INTERNAL BLEEDING
  369. Where is it? Scan 'em.
  370. Scalpel that.
  371. Hemostat.
  372. Retractors
