  43.
  44. You peer at Edain suspiciously.
  45.
  46. (Luminaries): Elim says, "'ow are ya?"
  47.
  48. You wryly say, "'ello to you too."
  49.
  50. Squinting, Edain Tenor says to you, "What? Don't look at me like that. I'm

  61. commands. )) It costs about 500 gold each."
  62.

  79. ramshackle pushcart. A small sign points into a market stall. A blue and gold
  80. chest sits here, carved with helpful novice tips. A division of Enorianite

  82. and iron bench rests here. An ornate, gilded tome is chained to a pedestal here,
  83. azure script across its cover reading "Shop Directory." A sigil in the shape of

  96. doing."
  97.
  98. Daskalos arrives from the north.
  99.
  100. Daskalos leaves to the in.
  101.
  102. Lianca tells you, "I'll be there in just a few moments!"
  103.
  104. Casting off her final fetters, the luminous lady awakens fully, shedding her
  105. joyful light from horizon to horizon.
  106.
  107. (Luminaries): You say, "I am going to do a sermon on Lord Damariel at Four
  108. Corners for those who wish to attend."
  109.
  110. Valingar arrives from the west.
  111.
  112. Valingar places his palms together in front of his chest and bows respectfully.
  113.
  114. Valingar tilts his head back, inhaling sharply several times.
  115.
  116. (Luminaries): Rashar says, "Unfortunately, I just spent the last two and a half
  117. days at an event in Lord Slyphe's honor. I'm all Divine'd out!"
  118.
  119. You have emoted: Maite clasps both gloved hands in front, before bowing
  120. respectfully towards Valingar.
  121.
  122. Alee enters from the northeast, riding a powerful russet charger.
  123.
  124. Edain acknowledges Valingar with a nod of his head.
  125.
  126. (Luminaries): Daegon says, "There is no such thing as being all Divined out.
  127. Considering we are made of Divine essence."
  128.
  129. Aryanne arrives from the north.
  130.
  131. (Luminaries): You say, "Understood."
  132.
  133. Alee gracefully hops off of a powerful russet charger.
  134.
  135. Alee kneels onto one knee, demonstrating her humility and respect.
  136.
  137. The sounds of children playing touch upon your ears from within the city.
  138.
  139. (Luminaries): Rashar says, "I would be interested in a more personal discussion
  140. with you at a later point in time, though."
  141. (Luminaries): You say, "Feel free to contact me at anytime I am awake."
  142. (Enorian): You say, "Anyone else?"
  143.
  144. Valingar tilts his head back, inhaling sharply several times.
  145.
  146. Edain ceases to wield a solemn, keen-edged bastard sword, securing it to his
  147. weaponbelt.
  148.
  149. Lianca arrives from the west.
  150.
  151. Edain shifts from one foot to the other, ornate fullplate inset with stained
  152. glass sounding with a metallic tone.
  153.
  154. Alee stands up and stretches her arms out wide.
  155.
  156. You have emoted: Maite shifts and adjusts her clothing, even though they do not
  157. need it. "Looks like it is just us."
  158.
  159. Lady Alee Noreneno says, "Some people let their distractions get the better of
  160. them... it happens."
  161.
  162. Lady Alee Noreneno says, "It doesn't mean there is any less merit to your
  163. sermon."
  164.
  165. Alee smiles at you.
  166.
  167. Aryanne looks around uncomfortably as she slinks off to the west, doing her best
  168. to not look attached to the assembled group.
  169.
  170. Aryanne leaves to the west.
  171.
  172. The body of Dwodin appears in a flash and his soul descends to fill it, causing
  173. the previously expressionless face to fill with emotion.
  174.
  175. Dwodin touches an obsidian and iron stud earring.
  176.
  177. You have emoted: Maite flashes a nervous smile at Alee. "Well, here goes, I
  178. suppose!"
  179.
  180. Lianca ceases to wield a fiery aetherstaff of swirling spatial motes in her left
  181. hand.
  182.
  183. beseech damariel for sermon
  184. --> You appear to have caused an untrapped error in the code. Please don't
  185. execute this command again right now.
  186.
  187. You have emoted: Maite finds a place to stand where she can be easily seen, so
  188. she can better address those gathered. While the crowd settles, Maite's head is
  189. lowered, followed by a brief prayer asking that the hearts and minds of those
  190. around to be open. She speaks then, addressing everyone in a clear and
  191. passionate tone. "I am here to let you know that any who choose to follow Lord
  192. Damariel are welcome! You need not be a strong fighter, nor a gifted scholar!"
  193.
  194.
  195. Alee stands up and stretches her arms out wide.
  196.
  197. Edain reaches up, and - very carefully - scratches beside one bright eye with a
  198. gauntleted fingertip.
  199.
  200. You have emoted: Maite points around to all those gathered, tone increasing in
  201. fervor as she speaks. "All that you need is a desire, a calling to learn more
  202. about Him, apply His ways to your own, and you will be given a place where you
  203. can belong!"
  204. You have emoted: Maite's tone changes - she speaks gravely, but still just as
  205. passionately. "Many, especially those who are more experienced, start to see the
  206. fight against Darkness as something that will never end. Which makes it is easy
  207. to lose hope." She points again, this time lingering on each person before
  208. moving on. "Unless you start changing now, start learning how to better be an
  209. example to those who are draped in the Shadow's grasp, how else will things ever
  210. improve? It is up to YOU to make a difference."
  211.
  212. You have emoted: Maite makes eye contact with some within the crowd. "Lord
  213. Damariel and His order offer guidance to any who ask it. He offers, by way of
  214. contract, that by following His tenets and fetters, He will give His blessing
  215. and protection against Artifice and Darkness, and will be granted the eventual
  216. promise of Liberation." She concludes, gesturing skyward, with a final question:
  217. "Can you leave that offer sitting there, without even considering the
  218. possibilities?"
  219.
  220. Aryanne slips in and tip-toes behind Edain, slipping her arm around the man to
  221. slip a dust-laden rum bottle into Edain's hand as quietly as possible.
  222.
  223. Edain's pierced face creases into a frown, which he casts at Aryanne. With the
  224. impromptu gift in one steel-coated hand, he presses a dust-laden rum bottle full
  225. of Death's Breath Hooch Rum back into her grasp.
  226.
  227. Edain gives a dust-laden rum bottle to Aryanne.
  228.
  229. You have emoted: Maite steps down from her makeshift stand, wiping her hands off
  230. on her clothes. "That is all I wished to say, unless there are questions or
  231. comments."
  232.
  233. Aryanne takes the bottle back with a heavily muted giggle of deliight before
  234. slinking back away.
  235.
  236. Aryanne leaves to the west.
  237.
  238. Valingar is settled comfortably one of the benches, his arm draped over the back
  239. of it, and he cricks his head to one side, then the other, before leaping to his
  240. feet. "No questions from me, but it was a good speech," he congratulates you,
  241. offering a brief smile.
  242.
  243. Valingar places his palms together in front of his chest and bows respectfully.
  244.
  245. Valingar leaves to the northeast.
  246.
  247. Alee's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.
  248.
  249. Diancecht arrives from the northeast.
  250. He is followed by a sinuous weasel.
  251.
  252. The bright sun shines down upon you.
  253.
  254. A sinuous weasel begins to follow Lianca.
  255.
  256. Melantha is enveloped in translucent fire for a moment and is gone, her soul
  257. safe until she returns to Aetolia.
  258.
  259. Lady Alee Noreneno says to you, "That was wonderful sermon."
  260.
  261. Lady Alee Noreneno says to you, "You serve Him well."
  262.
  263. You have emoted: Maite's cheeks flush at the compliment. "I only try."
  264.
  265. Lianca smiles at you and briefly hugs you, "That was wonderful! Thank you." She
  266. takes a step back as Diancecht enters and she nods to him in greeting.
  267.
  268. Diancecht bows respectfully to Lianca.
  269.
  270. You have emoted: Maite returns Lianca's hug, smiling as she steps away.
  271.
  272. You tell Edain, "Good of you, to not take the alcohol, and be polite about it."
  273. Edain tells you, "She's just playing with me."
  274. Edain tells you, "That was good."
  275.
  276. You have emoted: Maite slips her hands inside the opposite sleeves of her tunic.
  277. "I know many can be intimidated by the restrictions we in the order apply to
  278. ourselves, and I just want to let people know that they are worth the cost."
  279.
  280. Edain tells you, "Next time we should talk about the Contract, I think, and His
  281. Promise. It's... important."
  282.
  283. You tell Edain, "Yes. It is. I was going to see if you wished to talk after
  284. this, see where you are at."
  285.
  286. Edain's nostrils flare in a quiet snort. "Cost? Not really a cost. Just fewer
  287. distractions," he breathes.
  288.
  289. Smiling, Lady Alee Noreneno says, "No doubt, though I just simply prefer to
  290. follow mine... its not the restrictions that ever stopped me."
  291.
  292. Diancecht leaves to the west.
  293.
  294. You have emoted: Maite tilts her head towards Alee. "May I ask what is stopping
  295. you?"
  296.
  297. Lady Alee Noreneno says, "I already serve Lord Dhar."
  298.
  299. You say to Edain, "I feel the same way."
  300.
  301. Comprehension flashes across your face.
  302.
  303. With a nod, Edain Tenor says to Lady Alee Noreneno, "Good."
  304.
  305. The body of Melantha appears in a flash and her soul descends to fill it,
  306. causing the previously expressionless face to fill with emotion.
  307.
  308. The night sky is clear, and the stars twinkle like diamonds.
  309.
  310. Daegon enters from the northeast, riding a donkey.
  311.
  312. Daegon bows his head respectfully.
  313.
  314. You say, "Still a common goal, common purpose in our struggle."
  315.
  316. Alee nods her head emphatically.
  317.
  318. You smile and say, "Thank you all for coming, nontheless."
  319.
  320. Lady Alee Noreneno says, "Well if you want to give a sermon you ought to have
  321. people attend."
  322.
  323. Alee's mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.
  324.
  325. You say, "I will be noting all who attended for our Lord to know."
  326.
  327. Later on in the month...
  328.
  329. Lances of brilliant light pierce the heavens, signaling the return of Damariel
  330. mot Lanosaryon, the Unbound.
  331.
  332. (Order): You say, "Evening, Father."
  333. (Order): Damariel says, "Hail!"
  334. (Order): You say, "I had a question for You, actually."
  335. (Order): Damariel says, "Many do. Let's hear yours, child!"
  336. (Order): You say, "I performed a sermon earlier this month, and was curious if
  337. You would perhaps share a blessing with those that attended?"
  338. (Order): Damariel says, "I would!"
  339. (Order): You say, "Let me remember all the names here..."
  340. (Order): Damariel says, "Take your time. I'm not going to keel over dead anytime
  341. soon."
  342. (Order): You say, "Valingar, Edain, Lianca, Alee, Dwodin, and Melantha."
  343. (Order): You say, "I certainly hope not!"
  344.
  345. Damariel mot Lanosaryon, the Unbound has bestowed a divine blessing upon you. It
  346. will last for 2 days.
  347.
  348. (Order): You say, "Thank You!"
  349.
  350. (Order): Damariel says, "You will be one of My representatives, henceforth, for
  351. you have carried My message most capably to those outside of My following."
  352.
  353. You have been appointed as a representative of your Order.
  354.
  355. (Order): Damariel says, "I have made this choice because I have a mission for
  356. you, child. Carry My word. Make it simple, make it understood. Give it to the
  357. world. Bring Me followers. Good men and women and people of the world who can do
  358. the work that must be done in the coming decades."
  359. (Order): You say, "A mission, for me? Of course, I will do my best, Father."
  360. (Order): Damariel says, "Better than your best, child. This is for you as much
  361. as it is for the continent of Sapience."
  362. (Order): Damariel says, "I will not insist on specific results, but this much, I
  363. will command of you: place the Kuykibu in its entirety in every library that
  364. stands upon the face of My Brother's Earth."
  365. (Order): You say, "I will ensure it is done, Father. It will be my entire focus
  366. until it is."
  367. (Order): Damariel says, "You are not only carrying the Truth, child."
  368. (Order): Damariel says, "You ARE the Truth. My Truth."
  369. (Order): You say, "I understand...it is a burden. Will not be easy. I want to do
  370. this, for You, to be what's needed."
  371. (Order): You say, "May I make a request?"
  372. (Order): Damariel says, "You may."
  373. (Order): You say, "Would You consider a place, in a neutral location, and make
  374. it to where no harm can be done there? It would provide the Order a place to
  375. speak to all people in a safe fashion."
  376. (Order): Damariel says, "That is beyond My control. We do not live in a peaceful
  377. world, child, and I cannot create such a place without denying the people of
  378. Sapience the free will that I prize so highly. Would that I could, but that
  379. power lies only with My Father and those Others Who do not concern Themsleves
  380. with our affairs."
  381. (Order): You say, "Understood. It was merely a thought. I can simply bring one
  382. of those among us who are our warriors, when speaking outside the city, for
  383. protection."
