Ordeal in Ordon, Session 4

  1. <DM> *Recap! Last time......
  2. <DM> *You found some Ordon Villagers imprisoned in that one cave-like area beneath the West Guardhouse and rescued them. There was also a crack in the wall of the prison, so in order to take out two stones with one bird, you decided to blow it open by luring the enemy guards back to the prison and blow up both them and the wall. It worked quite well, especially after getting one of them to die by fall damage.
  3. <DM> *Behind the prison was a nice trove of treasures, as well as a rotting Moblin with a spear. You decided to then head to the Moblin Forest with the spear in hand, where you were swamped by Moblins, including one super sized Moblin. You tried showing the spear to them, but all it did was make them assume you guys imprisoned and killed that one Moblin. So instead, Flareclaw did what Flareclaw does best - setting something on fire.

  5. <DM> *With a fireball to Grit Gos' face and a flurry of sparks to all the other Moblins, you somehow got them on your side. .... science, how does it work? Anyhow, they agreed to join you with a condition - find and free the rest of the Moblins that Mayor Milo and his Achemen army stole. With that, you headed back to the west guardhouse (still somehow undetected) and passed out.

  7. <DM> *As the loading screen dissipates from your nightmares, you all awaken with sunlight filtering in through one of the windows, blinding your face with blindness.

  10. <DM> *And Tyria got blinded with unfiltered sunlight.
  11. * Lunaria unattaches herself from the furry pillow and gets up
  12. * Flareclaw yawns as he clumsily wakes up and knocks over something...
  13. <Nimono> gyuh...
  14. <DM> *Flareclaw, you knocked over a nearby torch, setting a poor leather armor on fire. Congrats for your clumsiness!
  15. <DM> *Next to you, Kite and the rest of the prisoners you rescued are all geared up...... where's my shells.

  22. <DM> *The grungy barracks' beds aren't the greatest of shape, but sure, they cause a full recovery just like an inn would. Not sure how that works...
  23. <Nimono> (oh, btw...the doran's blade I picked up...its +2 hearts bonus only works if I equip it, right?)
  24. <Kite> Oh good, you folks are awake. Tros was about to try poking you (pointing at Flareclaw), I'm glad he wasn't stupid enough to do it.

  27. <Nimono> Ah...good morning...
  28. <Kite> Mornin'! Ready to go bash some Achemen skulls in?
  29. * Tyria_Lazzen can somehow hear the conversation, despite the fact she is outside
  30. <Nimono> Yeah...once I finish waking up... *yawns*
  31. <DM> *Not only are you outside Tyria, but you're a little bit away from the guardhouse, plus you're somehow hearing through stone walls.
  32. <Kite> I checked out the enemy positions a bit ago....
  33. <Lunaria> We need to come with a plan of attack, since I think they out number us
  34. <Nimono> On top of that...we also have another goal to accomplish, right?
  35. <Kite> They've got at least 10 guards... but... they're split up.
  36. <Kite> For some reason, most of them are guarding the Waterwheel. I also noticed that's where they've been having Fado go to help them build... something.
  37. <Kite> There's three at the East Guardhouse, but given the proximity, if we all just try to attack one over the other, the rest will swarm and attack us. And in all likelihood, the rest of the villagers are at the East Guardhouse.
  38. <Nimono> waterwheel, huh? I wonder, maybe that's where the kidnapped moblins are? Or maybe something more sinister...
  39. <Kite> The waterwheel building isn't a large place really. It powers something, but... no one knows what.
  40. <Nimono> Ah...
  41. <Lunaria> hmmm
  42. <Kite> Ordon Village hasn't been around for long, but when it was built, that building was already there.
  43. <Nimono> the village was built around the waterwheel?
  44. <Kite> Yeah. Mayor Bo doesn't even know its purpose, and he's the oldest inhabitant here.
  45. * Tros appears, bearing the crappy Achemen guard gear.
  46. <Tros> Alright Kite, everyone's geared up. We're ready when you guys are.
  47. <Kite> Anyhow, here's our plan...
  48. <Kite> Tros, the rest, and I, will go harass the guys at the Waterwheel. We're not aiming for a direct confrontation, just enough noise to distract them.
  49. <Kite> Do you folks think you can get to the East Guardhouse and rescue the prisoners there?
  50. <Lunaria> probably
  51. <Nimono> We can definitely try
  52. <Lunaria> is it a good idea to split up though?
  53. <Nimono> No...not try. We MUST succeed!
  54. <Kite> If we stick together, they outnumber us right now and they'll probably win.
  55. <Kite> We're better off doing hit-and-run while you folks get the rest of our numbers back.
  56. <Lunaria> They are split up though, if we attack one group as full force first, we have practically won
  57. <Nimono> yes, but we'll be severely weakened afterwards
  58. <Nimono> and the rest of the ground will run in and pick us off with ease
  59. <Nimono> don't you remember how much we struggled against the first two?
  60. <Lunaria> Yeah but I was the only one able to see in the dark
  61. <Lunaria> Plus, they kinda got the jump on us
  62. <Nimono> true. and we know what to expect now, so we can keep a light handy
  63. <Kite> Either way, I'd rather we get all our forces back before we go for a full-on assault. Mayor Bo himself is quite a strong one if we can free him.

  65. <Lunaria> Also, the achemen have been forcing the villagers to build something
  66. <Lunaria> so I assume they have an ace up their sleeves
  67. <Kite> Yeah, I heard from Fado, but every time I try asking, some guard interrupts and prevents him from speaking. Gah!
  68. <Nimono> that's what happened to us, too
  69. <Kite> You guys ready? We'll strike first, and then while we're doing that, go sneak into the East Guardhouse. Tros, hand them the key.
  70. <Lunaria> I'm good to go
  71. * Tros hands you folks a key.
  72. * Flareclaw nods.
  73. * Nimono accepts the key
  74. <Nimono> You can count on us!
  75. <Nimono> You can also count on Flareclaw to turn the Achemen into ashes pretty quickly.

  78. <DM> *With that, Kite's group heads out. They head over to the shop building first, hiding behind it.
  79. <DM> *They sidle to the north side of the shop wall, disappearing from your guys' sight.
  80. * Flareclaw exits, stage right.
  81. * Nimono follows Flareclaw, as usual
  82. <DM> *A moment later, you can hear a monstrous scream across the other side, followed by a good amount of exaggerated yelling from your allies. It's probably safe to cross the bridge now without anyone noticing you.
  83. * Flareclaw scurries across the bridge.
  84. * Nimono rushes across the bridge as quickly as possible
  85. * Tyria_Lazzen meanwhile is somewhere outside... Where?
  86. * Lunaria follows
  87. <Nimono> Ah, guys, I just remembered! ...where's Tyria?
  88. <Lunaria> (well, you got into a tree before entering the city, so I assume outside the gate to the moblin forest)

  90. <DM> *Tyria, you suddenly wake up to the sounds of a plot device, sneaking up behind you. IT'S THE TREE YOU'RE RESTING ON, IT'S A TRAP!

  93. <DM> *Annnd congrats, the ground tastes sideways as you experience a ground to the face.

  112. <Nimono> ah, allow me to UNLOCK the secrets of this guardhouse for you
  113. * Lunaria sneaks up and checks any windows
  114. <DM> *Your glare causes the guardhouse to re-exist in reaction!
  115. <DM> *You check the windows. There's no one inside... or so it seems.

  118. <DM> *Then again, it was the same for the last guardhouse.

  120. * Tyria_Lazzen is just standing there, reluctant of the reluctancy

  123. <Nimono> I smell a trap. I mean, come on, why wouldn't there be?
  124. * Flareclaw continues glaring at an obviously locked wooden door...

  126. * Nimono cautiously unlocks the door to the guardhouse using the key he was given
  127. <DM> *The door glares back at Flareclaw. It tries so hard to glare.... it causes the key to snap when you try to turn the lock.
  128. <Nimono> .................................WHAT
  129. * Nimono glares at the door massively
  130. <DM> *Congrats Flareclaw, you've defeated the natural entrance to the guardhouse by glaring at it so hard it glares its own lock into perma lock mode!
  131. <DM> *Your collective glare causes the lock to just explode...... and the door opens.

  134. <Nimono> at least it saved me from having to punch it.
  135. <Tyria_Lazzen> Well, that door had a good amount of magic and science to it.
  136. * Flareclaw swings the door open and enters.
  137. * Nimono cautiously enters and prepares for a fight
