  27. --------------------------------------
  28.
  29. 1.) What classes are there/what class should I play?
  30.
  31. http://dnsea.wikia.com/wiki/Class
  32. http://dragonnest.gamepedia.com/Classes
  33. Pick a class that looks interesting and fun for you.
  34.
  35. -Here's a channel that demonstrates most of the classes skills: http://tinyurl.com/lthtr43
  36.
  37. 2.) What servers exists?
  38.
  39. There are three English based servers: SEA, EU and NA. Obviously you are encounraged to play the one with the most proximity for better ping.
  40.
  41. - SEA: dn.cherrycredits.com
  42. Also known as the Global server. Physical servers in Singapore and Malaysia.
  43. The following countries have client download IP blocked (but can create an account): South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, United States, Australia and Thailand. Outside those, anyone can create an account and play.
  44. Besides Cash and Gold, it has another currency known as DNP. It can be purchased with Cash (1:1 ratio) and can be used to pay for goods in the Trading House (if the seller made it available) and in the Cash Shop itself (1:1 ratio as well). DNP cannot be used to purchase Gacha Boxes or most discounted items.
  45. Normal grade costumes for Warrior, Archer, Sorceress, Cleric, Academic and Kali have a permanent 75% discount. Normal grade costumes for Assassin and Lencea have a permanent 90% discount.
  46. Voice acting is a hit and miss, some are excellent and some may fuel you into a murderous rage there's no in between. Some cutscenes and NPCs use Korean voices, in fact everyone after Assassin update speaks Korean. Player Characters use Korean voices.
  47.
  48. - NA: dragonnest.nexon.net (soon to be moved to dragonnest.com)
  49. Servers somewhere in the United States.
  50. Anyone who doesn't live in United States, Canada, Australia or Latinamerica seems to be blocked.
  51. It uses two type of currencies: EYEcash and EYEcredit goo.gl/KOK8Rs. EYEcredit is restricted goo.gl/R5jYzY. DNP exists but it's only given during events and expires after 30 days.
  52. Controversial server due to it's 4kids-like localization that includes even story and character changes. If you are into the game lore, you will be way behind everyone else unless you keep up with Thailand's or SEA's lore talk, or the SEA Wikia. However all the patches applied after 93 cap uses the localization SEA and EU use because Nexon and their lel so random editors are no more.
  53. Voice acting is kinda ok for the most part. Player Characters are dubbed.
  54.
  55. - EU: dragonnest.eu
  56. Physical server is in Germany. It's managed by Cherry Credits too.
  57. DNP exists but it's only given during events.
  58. Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, Philippines and Malaysia are IP blocked.
  59. Uses the same text and audio as SEA, with minor changes. Has DNP as well.
  60.
  61. And here are the non-English servers. The Korean server, save a few occasions, is always the first to get content. Taiwan/Hong Kong, Japan and China are behind it by approximately two weeks to month. Playing in these servers can be very complicated due to account creation requirements (like a local phone number) and IP blocks.
  62.
  63. - Korea: dn.pupugame.com
  64. - China: dn.sdo.com
  65. - Japan: dragonnest.hangame.co.jp
  66. - Taiwan/Hong Kong: dn.gameflier.com
  67. - Russia: dn.mail.ru
  68. - Thailand: dragonnest.asiasoft.co.th
  69. - Indonesia: dn.gemscool.com
  70. - Vietnam: dn.choi.vn
  71.
  72. We have a nice quest translation mod here: http://pastebin.com/LAYKcdia
  73.
  74. 3.) How do I join a guild?
  75.
  76. Pay attention to the global chat, as there are always guild announcements. Alternatively you can go to the forums of your respective game version. Once you find a guild you like, you can either talk with one of the managers or send an application through the guild listing.
  77.
  78. Joining a guild for the first time gives you an overpowered title and an exp scroll (not anymore in NA).
  79.
  80. 4.) How do I level fast?
  81.
  82. You get bonus exp from partying with friends, guild members, and mentors. You'll mostly be doing hard/master mode. The more characters you level to cap, the more monster kill and dungeon completion experience you get.
  83.
  84. Don't open the brown Treasure Pouches you get from certain daily quests, just sell them to NPCs. The white ones have a chance of giving items worth 5, 11 or 45 gold (or something like that) so it's up to you if you wanna gamble or sell them unopened (costs 1 gold each).
  85.
  86. Here's a short level guide. Grind preferably in a party of four. Don't forget to take board missions and daily quests:
  87.
  88. 1-10 - Main quests
  89. 10-16 - Sight Canyon/Valley of Mourning
  90. 16-24 - Dark Tower (FairyStar) Magic Institute/Astral Coven Laboratory
  91. 24-32 - Dark Overlord Keep or Flooded Downstream Ruins/Black Sovereign Domain or Submerged Ruins
  92. 32-40 - Forsaken Islet Core/Desolation Point
  93. 40-50 - Riverwort Ruins/Ruined Village
  94. 50-60 - Mutant’s Habitat or Meteor Crash Site Boundaries/Mutant Habitat or Crash Site Perimeter
  95. 60-70 - Golden Meadow/Golden Grassland
  96. 70-80 - Abyss of Heat/Valley of Fire and Wailing Wall/Wall of Laments.
  97. 80-90 - Blue Wind Plains/Zephyra Plains
  98. 90-93 - Red Waste
  99.
  100. Spartan Goblin in Wonderful Theme Park/Daredevil Faire/Circus Maximus gives a very good amount of experience and can be done seven times a week. The first version of Spartan Goblin is recommended for level 15 and above, otherwise it would probably take you too long to complete. Characters with wide aoes or lots of escape maneuvers like Assassin and Lencea can swiftly complete Spartan Goblin rounds in just a few minutes. Sorceress players may wanna wait to take the challenge later than other classes, as the amount of mobs that spawn and their aggressive nature are too high and you will often have your spells cancelled by them, you will probably die covered in Goblins.
  101.
  102. Hessian Goblin is later available for players 32 to 49, and Spartan Goblin reopens for players 60 to 69.
  103.
  104. 5.) Monsters take too long to kill and I'm dying a lot. Help!
  105.
  106. Usually gear given in quests and dungeon drops are enough to run through the game and the dungeons have been greatly dumbed down in early game, and you even get an overpowered (albeit temporal) costume so this shouldn't be happening. If you are having trouble, update your gear. You can buy new one with the Blacksmiths, and lots of heraldries and jewelry drop in dungeons. You may also find Epic grade gear which can be enhanced. It is not reccommended to enhance past +6 due to risk of breaking, save the Enhancement Jelly for level cap gear.
  107.
  108. 6.) I fucked up my build. Is there a way I can reset my SP for free?
  109.
  110. In NA you can get 1 SP reset from a quest from Irene after you do your job specialization at level 15 and 2 from PvP. The SP reset scrolls expire in a day, so don't turn in the quest or open up the NX boxes until you really need it. You can buy skill resets at the Lament Shop for 600 gold.
  111.
  112. In SEA and EU, you get 4 reset scrolls: One from the same Irine quest, one from the level 93 level up rewards box (an Oblivion Contract, a special reset you can use as many times as you want for 24 hours), one from PvP ranking (another Oblivion Contract) and one from completing the Master of Final Hit feat. These scrolls expire after seven days. There's also a class change scroll in the 93 box.
  113.
  114. It's recommended that you hold off from using your SP reset scroll until you're near level cap so you have a good feel of your skills and you can easily optimize your build.
  115.
  116. Events often give reset scrolls so check the site often.
  117.
  118. 7.) How do I make money?
  119.
  120. Early on, you should make use of the market pass you get from the level up reward box and sell everything you can. Find the current lowest price on the item you want to sell on the marketplace and sell it for a copper less. Always do your daily quests, and run Nests and hope you get good accessories or plates worth selling. The Daily Quests from Sorceress Tysha/Alessa give a petty amount of EXP because they were used in the past to acquire Goddess' Breaths, as this item doesn't exist anymore and the exp on her quests was never upgraded there is no reason to take them unless you are going to run those dungeons anyway.
  121.
  122. Farming crops is a nice way to get semi-passive cash. Do it with multiple characters and make it make money. You can farm Essence of Life to sell in the Trading House. Alternatively you can farm Resurrection Apple and Golden Apple which you can either sell in the Trading House or to NPCs (they pay quite a lot of gold for them).
  123.
  124. Fishing is slower, but also yields a good amount of gold. Open the pouches you get from fishing as anything you get from them will cost higher than the pouch itself (it only costs 1 copper) and there is a chance to get Goddess' Teardrops, Dimensional Fragments, and other items.
  125.
  126. Stuff to do when you hit cap:
  127.
  128. -Daily Quests: Pouches, Goddess' Laments
  129. -Weekly Events: Jewels
  130. -Nests: Epic gear, Goddess Sparkle, jewels and jewelry
  131. -Hero's Battlefield: Fragments of Brilliant skills and Dream Crystal to craft skill jewelry
  132.
  133. Note that if you play in SEA, you can choose to sell your items for DNP instead. DNP is an alternate currency that can be used to purchase in the cash shop and never expires. There is also DNP in EU and NA, but can only be acquired during events (and in NA expires after 30 days). DNP has some limitations: You can't buy discounted items, be it through a discount coupon or directly from the shop. You can't buy Gacha boxes.
  134.
  135. 8.) Anything else to help gear myself up?
  136.
  137. Check the Weekly Content tab every week (duh), and Schedule Achievements menu everyday, as you can get lots of rewards from there like titles, Goddess' Laments, gold, Octagonal Water, Jades, craft materials, etc.
  138.
  139. 9.) What is FTG/PWR? When do my Nests entries and FTG/PWR reset?
  140.
  141. FTG/PWR increase the exp gained and item drop rate greatly. It is consumed each time you leave a dungeon, though this is not noticeable and can be almost entirely ignored until level 70 where consumption increases 10x. When you consume all of it (become “unempowered”), your exp gained from dungeons will drop somewhat and item drops will cease almost entirely. Running in a party unempowered will divide the penalties by the number of members. If you run in a party with 3 empowered and 1 unempowered member, the drop and xp rate will be 75% of what it usually is.
  142.
  143. FTG/PWR resets everyday at 9 AM. Nests, special dungeons, and weekly FTG/PWR reset every Saturday at 9 AM. GMT -8 for NA, GMT +1 for EU and GMT +8 for SEA. 300 FTG/PWR can be regained once a day by getting 3 likes off other players. Potions can also be found in the Cash Shop, in Gatcha Boxes/Dragon Eggs and the Treasure Dungeon.
  144.
  145. In all servers except SEA, EU and NA you cannot run dungeons if you dran out of FTG.
  146.
  147. 10.) What are Stamps, and how does binding work?
  148.
  149. Stamps are used to unbind strong equipment so that it can be traded. Some items drop already stamped, and will only need to restamp them if you unstamp them to use them yourself. There are two types: Seal Stamps and Purified Seal Stamps.
  150.
  151. Seal Stamps are the Cash Shop version, they always work and can be used in any item. You can purchase them directly from the cash shop or in the marketplace from other players. Purified Seal Stamps are the same thing, but have a chance of dropping from dungeons.
  152.
  153. 11.) What are Crests/Heraldries?
  154.
  155. Crests/Heraldries are used to personalize and buff your character. There's 4 kinds of crests: Enhancement, Skill, Special, and Expedition/Fellowship crests.
  156.
  157. Enhancement type give bonus stats to your character, and fit in 1 of the 8 enhancement crest slots located in a circle around the crest panel. You can only have 1 of each kind equipped at once, so you must choose what stats are important to you and your class to enhance.
  158.
  159. Skill type modify your skills, allowing you to give them a bonus effect: More damage, lowered cooldown, longer duration, faster action speed and lower mana consumption. You have 4 slots, and you can only modify a skill with 1 at a time.
  160.
  161. Special type allow you to use non-class related abilities belonging to NPCs or bosses, such as the Manticore Gravity Ball. You can only have 1 equipped at a time. As these stopped dropping from the game, you can only obtain them by purchasing them from other Players. They are largely useless and exist just for show. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBUPxEVeANs
  162.
  163. Expedition/Fellowship type are level 80 crests that used to drop from the 2-man Dragon Fellowship/Expedition dungeon, nowadays you obtain them from the Hero's Assemble/Mercenary Expedition system. There are 4 kinds: Attack (PATK/MATK), Origin (HP), Increasing (STR/AGI/INT) and Resistance (Paralysis/Crit/Stun). They're basically Enhancement ones on steroids. You get 4 slots, so you'll end up with 1 of each kind. In SEA there's a 5th one called Chaos (STR/AGI/INT/VIT/HP/CRIT/FD/PDEF/MDEF) that you can purchase with Magician Sanders using park tickets (stats are generated randomly every time you purchase one).
  164.
  165. Note that there are an extra 3 crest slots that you can temporarily unlock through the cash shop. These slots can be used to equip up to 3 extra enhancement/skill crests on your character for up to 30 days. The restriction of only being able to have 1 of any kind of crest equipped still applies, so the extra crest slots are largely worthless since the 8 enhancement slots you already have are more than enough to cover all of the primary stats that your class is going to use.
  166.
  167. Note that you have to visit a Heraldry Scholar NPC to remove equipped crests/heraldries from your character without destroying them.
  168.
  169. 12.) What are Dragon Jades/Gems?
  170.
  171. If you've ever playing WoW, they are basically the same thing as gems in that game; They're a form of customization that allow you to enhance armor and weapons Rare grade and above once you hit level 40. It's pretty self explanatory; you put a gem in the socket on your gear and get bonus stats, with better gems giving better bonuses. Do note that the shape of the gems and the sockets is important, because gems will only fit in a matching-shaped socket. You can socket and remove gems at will, even in the middle of an instance or fight, by holding shift and right clicking on the equipment you want to remove gems from.
  172.
  173. Jades can be enhanced, and has the same rules as equipment enhancing.
  174.
  175. 13.) What are Talismans?
  176.
  177. Talismans are basically like enhancement heraldries/crests, except which talisman slot you put a talisman determines how effective the stats it gives are. The further to the left the slot is in the talisman pane, the more bonus stats it'll give to a talisman that's equipped in it (200%); while the furthest right slot doesn't have any extra bonus at all (100%). You can move talismans around basically at will, and can remove them yourself with a small gold fee.
  178.
  179. 14.) What are pets, and how do I get one for free?
  180.
  181. Pets are followers that pick up gold and items off the ground for you, as well as giving bonus stats, and can be leveled up to 20. You can buy pets from the cash shop. There are also free pets in several events like Continent Exploration, Saint Haven Defense, Chrismas and Halloween; and in some servers a free pet comes in the level 5 reward box.
  182.
  183. All pets have limited lifespans, and will hibernate when they expire. Pets are never destroyed or lose stat bonuses when they invernate and you can use a Pet Alicorn/Horn to revive them anytime.
  184.
  185. In NA, seven day pet alicorns can be purchased from “Honest Ed's Abyss Shop” for 10 Goddess' Laments.
  186.
  187. 15.) What are Nests?
  188.
  189. Nests are Dragon Nest's raids and the main attractions, tuned for groups of 4 or 8 people. They used to be scattered accross the game but since a reset (shit) update they are now only available at levels ou can find them at levels 24, 90 and 93. Completing the Nests rewards you with equipment, crafting materials, gold and jewels.
  190.
  191. 16.) Is the game P2W?
  192.
  193. Short answer: No.
  194.
  195. Long answer: Technically, costumes you can buy from the cash shop have stats. However, the stats are low enough that they're basically negligible (Example: As a Saint with 10010 intellect, my primary stat, a cash shop costume chest piece provides 19 of that, with the full set giving 75 INT). They come in Normal, Magic, Rare and Epic grades. Epic costumes cannot be purchased directly, and must be either synthesized or purchased from other players.
  196.
  197. The vast majority of cash shop items provide some sort of convenience, such as increased bag space or bank space, instead of power. It is possible to buy potions that restore HP/MP off of the cash shop, but their use is restricted and when you really need them, it will be most likely in a dungeon where you can't use them.
  198.
  199. A “Treasure Dungeon” exists in-game that you can run 3x a week for free that rewards you with stuff from the cash shop, like potions, wings, costumes, mounts, and more. Actually, the only potions that you can use in Nests and the like are the free versions of the ones from the Treasure Dungeon; The store-bought ones don't work.
  200.
  201. In PvP Mission rooms (and in 90% of the user generated PvP rooms) Equalizer mode is enabled, which rebalances your stats meaning that it doesn't matter what are you wearing at all. Potions don't work in PvP.
  202.
  203. 17.) What is Hero Academy?
  204.
  205. Hero Academy is a 100 man "guild" that you're automatically sorted into when you make a new character. It's meant to help newbies interact with and help each other, but because newbies are given no explanation about this, the system is almost worthless since no one even knows anyone else is there. It doesn't count as your first guild, so you won't get the exp ticket, title or achievement for joining. You can leave Hero Academy at any time with no consequences.
  206.
  207. 18.) What are titles?
  208.
  209. Titles come in two varieties, display titles and stat titles. Equipping a stat title will give the corresponding stat boost that the title lists under its effects. Display titles are purely for cosmetic purposes and will not affect your stats. You may equip one title in each slot, and can equip the same title in both if you wish. New titles can be gained through quests, dungeons, achievements, nests, etc.
  210.
  211. The best titles are usually gained from high level nests. Good titles to aim for are New Blood from joining a guild, Elusive from running 100 dungeons within a month, Limit Breaker from Green Dragon Nest if you use elemental damage or God-Like from Memoria if regular damage. Titles may be equipped by clicking on Title in the personal menu. Some titles and how to get them can also be found in the achievement menu.
  212.
  213. 19.) What’s the Silver/Gold Dimensional Rabbit? And Dimensional Fragments?
  214.
  215. After completing an Abyss or Chaos dungeon, a bunny will pop up at the end sitting on a box. Clicking on it will cause him to drop several Dimensional Fragments, NPC gifts and skill heraldries. If you have a Dimensional Box Key in your inventory, the drops increase.
  216.
  217. Rarely, a gold bunny will appear dropping even more stuff.
  218.
  219. Dimensional Fragments were used to purchase heraldries/crests bags for your character’s class from a Scholar in town. Now they are just to make gold by selling them to NPCs. You can get many in Nightmare Dungeons.
  220.
  221. 20.) What is NPC friendship?
  222.
  223. NPC friendship is basically courting an NPC to get close to them and get their respective achievement, gifts, title and photo. To do this, you first need badges that can be looted in dungeons: Royal Castle, Golden Goose, Free Adventurer’s League, and Independent/Non-alligned.
  224.
  225. Giving these badges to an NPC belonging to one of these groups will earn faction points with that group, which can then be used to buy items off Honest Ed/Dishonest Merchant Pero in Saint Haven. Simply keep giving badges to your waifu/hazubando.
  226.
  227. 21.) What Stats Scale For Each Class?
  228.
  229. -Physical Attack: Increases damage of normal attacks and skills that deal physical damage. Strength and Agility can affect Physical Attack.
  230. -Magic Attack: Increases the damage of magic skills and abilities. Magic attack is increased by Intellect.
  231. -Final Damage: See http://dnsea.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Damage
  232. -Critical: Gives a chance of dealing critical damage to an enemy. Directly affected by your Agility (AGI) points.
  233. -Paralyze: Increases the duration of the time enemies remain Paralyzed (Paralysis is a basic negative status which renders a player or mob incapable of casting skills).
  234. -Stun: Increases the likelihood of dealing a hit that stuns the enemy when using normal attacks (Stun effects are a negative status effect that knocks down an enemy. A player or mob that has been stunned will have stars swirling above their heads accompanied by the sound of chirping birds while they fall to the ground).
  235.
  236. For specific stat weights of all classes, refer to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Rk7OzhCP57Yn9Q9oqI7bxt3O18_jKjdOY7rifg9MHOo/
  237.
  238. 22.) I have seen videos with different effects or audio, why is that?
  239.
  240. You most likely saw someone using mods (or god tier video editing skills). Mods are separate .pak used to apply a desired effect on certain aspects of the game: Interface, audio, costumes, etc.
  241.
  242. To use a mod, you need to move the downloaded file to your Dragon Nest folder (C:\CherryDeGames\Dragon Nest, C:\Program Files (x86)\HappyOZ\DragonNest, for example) and that is, the modded content will be changed and will be reflected the next time you open your game.
  243.
  244. IMPORTANT NOTES:
  245.
  246. 1.- You MUST remove your mod before every game patch, or else you can mess up your client.
  247.
  248. 2.- In case your mod is less than 450 MB, you MUST first use EnlargeYourPak (provided here http://pastebin.com/LAYKcdia) or else you will get a "Invalid shader data" error and the game won't work.
  249.
  250. 3.- Mods are illegal and can get you banned, so don't go around showing off this stuff in official forums or somewhere else in the GM's faces.
  251.
  252. 23.) What are Mercenaries/Heroes?
  253.
  254. Mercenaries/Heroes are ai-controlled companions that will tag along you. Register them in your Mercenary/Hero tab in your character menu (P) and they will be automatically summoned while running regular dungeons, Nests and Spartan Goblin as long as you are alone or with only one party member. They level up to 70, and come in Magic, Rare, Epic and Unique grades.
  255.
  256. Mercenaries have several skills that can help buff your character or debuff your enemy, like increased critical, reduced damage, increased elemental attack, etc. However, they have two uncomfortable disadvantages: If they die in a dungeon there is no shortcut to revive them and you must open your character menu to do so, and to use their active skills you must equip them in your character's quick-slot bar. They also have the tendency of accumulating aggro and staying behind you, which often slows down dungeon runs.
  257.
  258. When you get to level 24, a quest will be available with Magician Sanders and you will receive a Magic grade Mercenary of your choice: Orc Kwak, Orc Kim/Landslide Krag or Gosuk/Goblynn. A similar quest with the same rewards to introduce you to Mercenary Expedition/Hero's Assemble sysmte will be available at level 80.
  259.
  260. A Rare grade mercenary pouch can be purchased from Magician Sanders using coupons won in the Wonderful Theme Park/Daredevil Faire and gold starting level 24. To acquire Epic and Unique breed two level 20 Rare ones, Unique has a very low chance. Otherwise you can try your luck with the Unique Hero Pouch sold at Nightmare Store.
  261.
  262. Alternatively you can buy Mercenaries from other players through the marketplace for your personal use regardless of level, or purchase Mercenaries with a capped character to pass over to your alts, as they can be sealed (only consume one seal) and there are no character level requirements for their use.
  263.
