  1. [03:26:11] * Aaron_Spenser had a break after the jump. Exploration would come later... he was still a bit winded from the pair of fights. So he'd resolved to rest for a bit. But something came to his mind after thinking about those battles... the Pokeballs that Hui made him. He still needed to pay for them. So he'd look around the Bridge for Hui first off...
  2. [03:27:46] * ZhongHui is actually looking at the main screen, biting her lips as the initial analysis begins. She hoped nothing too distressing came out of the scans.
  3. [03:29:49] * Aaron_Spenser would approach Hui. "Hey. Uhh... if you're not busy, I wanted to go ahead and pay you for the Pokeballs. I really appreciate them."
  4. [03:31:56] * ZhongHui turns to Aaron, a bit jumpy. "Uh, yeah, sure, no problem." Hui pulls out a device the size of a modern day smartphone, and holds it out in front of her.
  5. [03:32:28] * Aaron_Spenser blinks a bit. "Uhh... what's that?" He looked genuinely confused.
  6. [03:32:49] <ZhongHui> "...you've... never dealt with printer credits before, have you."
  7. [03:33:09] * Aaron_Spenser tilts his head slightly. "What are Printer Credits?"
  8. [03:33:10] * ZhongHui looks a bit cross.
  9. [03:33:38] <ZhongHui> "Oh, god. Your planet doesn't even have printers. Where did you live, under a rock?"
  10. [03:34:45] * ZhongHui sighs. "You're lucky I have a spare device. Here." Hui tosses Aaron a device similar to hers. "See the button on the front bottom? Press and hold it for five seconds."
  11. [03:34:47] <Aaron_Spenser> "Not exactly... our planet did have technology... but my parents always say that 'A caring hand needs no technology to help.' So I never really interacted with technology where I lived. My parents were Pokemon Breeders."
  12. [03:35:05] * Aaron_Spenser catches it as it's tossed to him... and does as bade him.
  13. [03:35:51] <ZhongHui> He does... and in the fifth second, he can feel a sharp prick on the finger that was holding down the button.
  14. [03:36:58] * Aaron_Spenser releases the device sharply as he yelps in pain. "Yeowch!" He flicks his thumb a bit to get rid of the pain. If it were bleeding, he'd suck at it a little bit. "What was that about?"
  15. [03:38:37] <ZhongHui> It was bleeding. Slightly. "DNA test. That, combined with the fingerprint, logs you in to your PC account." Hui leans over to see the device's screen turn on, and Aaron's balance displaying. "Huh. Looks like you already have an account. Lucky you."
  16. [03:39:39] * Aaron_Spenser looks at the device, picking it up with the hand that didn't have a bleeding thumb, looking at the screen as well.
  17. [03:40:11] <ZhongHui> (I don't actually know how much PC you have.)
  18. [03:41:04] <ZhongHui> "...well, you have an account, but with no money."
  19. [03:41:08] <Aaron_Spenser> ((4350. But it was deemed that was Homeworld Money.)
  20. [03:41:22] <ZhongHui> "No worries. I take all sorts of cash. Whatcha got on you?"
  21. [03:42:23] <ZhongHui> "...let's see... you should have those coins we got from the hunt, right?"
  22. [03:42:26] * Aaron_Spenser digs into his belt and fetches out a wad of physical cash. "This is the kind of money I have."
  23. [03:43:18] <Aaron_Spenser> ((I assumed that was sent straight to the ship, and would be divvied up by the Commanders... since we only got 1500 PC.))
  24. [03:44:04] <ZhongHui> "..." Hui takes one and stares at it. "...might be of some use. I'm gonna assume the conversion rate is 1 to 1."
  25. [03:44:21] <ZhongHui> (I swear it was each, and you might not be so quick to convert it all to PC.)
  26. [03:45:17] <ZhongHui> "Supplies cost me 625. I can convert some of your cash to PC as well, if you'd like."
  27. [03:46:30] <Aaron_Spenser> "Well... I have $4,350. All my life savings from doing chores and helping with my parents' job. A weekly allowance as well."
  28. [03:46:59] <ZhongHui> "You want me to convert it all for you?"
  29. [03:47:25] * Aaron_Spenser nods. "Yes, please."
  30. [03:47:51] <ZhongHui> "ALright. Here, hand it to me. I'll give you... 3725 PC in exchange."
  31. [03:48:32] * Aaron_Spenser nods. "Alright, then." He pulls out all of the bills he had. All small bills. And a bunch of them.
  32. [03:48:53] <Aaron_Spenser> ((How do I save this PiratePad?))
  33. [03:50:07] <ZhongHui> (Autosave.)
  34. [03:50:41] * ZhongHui stores the cash in a compartment before activating her phone and pressing the screen a few times. "Here, hold up your device."
  35. [03:51:06] * Aaron_Spenser holds up his device to Hui.
  36. [03:52:51] * ZhongHui taps her device onto his and confirms the transfer. The number 0 changes to 3725 a few seconds later.
  37. [03:54:00] * Aaron_Spenser smiles and nods. "Alright. Thank you for that... but... now that this is done, I'm curious... why are they called Printer Credits?"
  38. [03:54:15] <ZhongHui> "..."
  39. [03:54:42] * ZhongHui picks herself slightly, and starts floating away from Aaron, to the exit. "Follow me."
  40. [03:55:47] * Aaron_Spenser blinks and follows her.
  41. [03:56:56] * ZhongHui heads to a small room with a large machine, with a large glass door. When Aaron enters the room, he can hear a beep coming from his device.
  42. [03:57:09] * Aaron_Spenser looks at his device.
  43. [03:57:43] <ZhongHui> A new button in his screen, which only had "Send" and "Refresh", now has "Print" on it.
  44. [03:58:13] <ZhongHui> "Press that. You'll see a list of things you can buy with the PC."
  45. [03:58:31] * Aaron_Spenser blinks... and presses the button.
  46. [03:59:17] <ZhongHui> Four categories pop up. "Medicine" "Pokeballs" "Vitamins" "Pokemon"
  47. [03:59:38] <ZhongHui> There is one more than says "Code" but don't press that.
  48. [03:59:55] * Aaron_Spenser starts a bit. "Pokemon...?" He presses the button that says "Pokemon."
  49. [04:00:23] <ZhongHui> The screen transitions to a list of Pokemon he can print.
  50. [04:02:10] <ZhongHui> (On the thread.)
  51. [04:02:47] * Aaron_Spenser hmms... "Golett, Nosepass, Solosis... and Castform..." He looks at Hui. "You can buy these Pokemon with these Printer Credits?"
  52. [04:03:35] <ZhongHui> "Yes."
  53. [04:04:36] * Aaron_Spenser looks at the list again... he contemplates purchasing a Pokemon... but he thought he might need to save his credits...
  54. [04:05:00] <Aaron_Spenser> ((Do you think Weird would be upset if I purchased a Pokemon in this mini?)
  55. [04:05:02] <Aaron_Spenser> )
  56. [04:05:54] <ZhongHui> (Nope, it's like restocking.)
  57. [04:06:06] <Aaron_Spenser> ((K.))
  58. [04:07:10] * Aaron_Spenser hmms... he then checks the categories for each of the other 3 categories.
  59. [04:07:45] <ZhongHui> "...here, if you want to save your credits, I can buy something and show you how this works."
  60. [04:08:00] <ZhongHui> "I needed to get something too."
  61. [04:08:14] <Aaron_Spenser> "Okay. That'd be useful." He smiles.
  62. [04:09:09] * ZhongHui opens up her device and types in a special code. When she confirms the purchase, a pedestal rises up from the floor of the glass room, and several lasers strike it.
  63. [04:09:31] * Aaron_Spenser watches this process in awe.
  64. [04:10:03] <ZhongHui> After a while, you see that the lasers leave behind something. As it sweeps back and forth, you start to recognize the parts of a Pokeball, somewhat.
  65. [04:10:52] <ZhongHui> Soon, the parts are fully formed, and the lasers stop. A ding rings from the device, and Hui opens the now unlocked door and moves the parts to her chest.
  66. [04:11:00] <ZhongHui> tool box*
  67. [04:11:07] * Aaron_Spenser continues watching in awe... then blinks as he slightly recognizes it. "Pokeball parts...? And when you make a Pokeball, you do so without the Loyalty Switch?"
  68. [04:11:28] <ZhongHui> "Sometimes. For mine, I have it on, just in case."
  69. [04:12:47] * ZhongHui closes the door after she empties it, and the door immediately locks, the pedestal retracting.
  70. [04:13:34] * Aaron_Spenser shakes his head. "I don't think the Loyalty Switch is a very good thing to bond with your Pokemon."
  71. [04:14:56] * ZhongHui opens her mouth to speak, but shuts it up. She would probably say something ridiculous, and there wasn't enough context for Aaron to know yet. "Yeah. Let's head back. Maybe the scans are done."
  72. [04:15:59] * Aaron_Spenser nods. "Right."
