  1. 1:22 AM] Maze-Senpai: After the last entrant had been in the maze for a while, the door receded and it opened itself to allow another. There was no sign of the last one in, your gut told you not to enter, but you entered anyways. The door slammed shut behind you, sealing you off from the rest of the party. It was just you and the rough stone walls now. The entire maze kept blinking red, like a warning or alarm was going off, it gave you a sense of urgency. Before you was a short hall way ending in a right turn. Your only real option was to follow it.
  2. FEBRUARY 24, 2017
  3. [1:16 PM] Victoria: Victoria took a deep breath before continuing on. No choice, after all, unless she felt like whacking the wall
  4. [1:18 PM] Maze-Senpai: GODDAMMIT WHY Around the corner Vitoria is presented with two choices. To the right is a hallway which leads to another turn. The hall to the left leads to a choice of several more paths, most of which are through what appears to be a section of the wall that's been broken down
  5. [1:21 PM] Victoria: Victoria recalled the image they'd seen before. If that had been a map, she should go right. However... the fact that none of the others had been able to finish the maze before her implied that no, perhaps there was something else. Keeping her hand on the left wall, she goes down the left path.
  6. [1:23 PM] Maze-Senpai: Vitoria is presented with four paths. The path before the destroyed wall appears to be a dead end. There's a path to the left of the wall which curves back towards the entrance and two to the right, both heading away http://prntscr.com/ecx79f (Red arrow be you, you're in the broken wall square, first path is behind you)

  10. [1:24 PM] Victoria: Victoria was right - unless the maze changed, this was not a map. While she could try either of the forward paths, and they were logical - it seemed too simple. She continues to keep her hand on the left wall and went left.(edited)
  11. [1:25 PM] Victoria: (oh woops accidental enter)
  12. [1:26 PM] Victoria: Edited
  13. [1:27 PM] Maze-Senpai: Victoria turns around the corner and finds herself met with a short hallway ending in a wall painted light blue, a striking contrast to the grey of the maze
  14. [1:30 PM] Victoria: Well that seemed suspicious, but it could be a trick. Victoria walked up to the wall, and touched it, seeing if that would provide some kind of reaction. Then, she tried knocking on it like one would a door (if perhaps a bit harder). After that, she would try to shoot it with a magical shot from her weapon - perhaps it would react to magic? - and then finally, trying to trace out the shape that had been shown earlier that had been assumed to be a map. If this all failed, she would go back the way she came - it was entirely possible it was a trick and she thought she was on a time limit.
  15. [1:31 PM] Victoria: ((I'm guessing this is the dreaded "destroy the wall" wall, but I could be wrong.))
  16. [1:32 PM] Maze-Senpai: The wall didn't react to being touched or knocked on,. Victoria found it impossible to conjure any form of magical blast. Tracing the shape also yielded no results. Victoria returned safely to the intersection
  17. [1:33 PM] Victoria: She would go back to the broken wall, and then from the same position she'd came to the intersection in, go right and then turn at the first left.
  18. [1:34 PM] Maze-Senpai: The turn leads to a dead end, but has another hallway that opens up in the left wall partway down
  19. [1:35 PM] Victoria: Well then, go down that turn. Again, keeping the hand on the left wall to try to avoid becoming lost.
  20. [1:36 PM] Maze-Senpai: The turn leads to a long hallway which also appears to be a dead end. The wall at the end of the hallway seems to be covered in scratches and dents. To the right there's a short passage
  21. [1:37 PM] Victoria: "Hm. Did some of the others try to attack the wall... well, it didn't seem to work." Victoria mutters to herself, before heading right down the passage.
  22. [1:38 PM] Maze-Senpai: The right hall turns back to the left almost immediately
  23. [1:39 PM] Victoria: Left hand rule. Avoiding getting turned around.
  24. [1:40 PM] Maze-Senpai: Victoria rounds the corner and finds yet another left turn. This last turn, however, leads to a dead end. The right wall of the dead end appears to not be a wall at all, but rather a section of the ceiling that collapsed
  25. [1:42 PM] Victoria: Does the collapsed ceiling-wall go all the way up, or does it look like it could be possibly climbed over? Are there any gaps that seem they could be crawled through? Or has the ceiling collapsed so perfectly that it fell in one piece and leaves no gaps?
  26. [1:42 PM] Maze-Senpai: It's a wall made of collapsed ceiling
  27. [1:44 PM] Victoria: Yes, and ceiling collapses are rarely clean - and it'd have to be a lot of ceiling to collapse to go as high as the other walls.
  28. [1:45 PM] Maze-Senpai: It is a wall
  29. [1:45 PM] Victoria: ...This is rather confusing to me, but I'm not gonna spend ten minutes whacking it. Let's go back the way we came.
  30. [1:45 PM] Victoria: (Unless you had something more to add?)
  31. [1:45 PM] Maze-Senpai: You can't get through it
  32. [1:45 PM] Maze-Senpai: Also
  33. [1:46 PM] Victoria: Time's up?
  34. [1:46 PM] Maze-Senpai: The red blinking increases in pace, indicating further urgency
  35. [1:46 PM] Maze-Senpai: How far are you backtracking?
  36. [1:46 PM] Victoria: There was still one turn at the intersection I did not try, correct? Let's try that one.
  37. [1:46 PM] Victoria: Victoria is at this point running rather than walking.
  38. [1:48 PM] Maze-Senpai: Victoria returns to the intersection, where she has yet to take either of the lower two paths
  39. [1:48 PM] Victoria: ((...Wait, at the intersection I thought I was taking the top of the lower paths)
  40. [1:49 PM] Maze-Senpai: No, you said not to take the forward paths
  41. [1:49 PM] Maze-Senpai: Which are the lower two
  42. [1:49 PM] Victoria: Initially yes, but when she returned to the intersection that's what I was aiming to do :v
  43. [1:49 PM] Maze-Senpai: Oh
  44. [1:50 PM] Maze-Senpai: Crap
  45. [1:50 PM] Maze-Senpai: I took you back to the first choice by mistake
  46. [1:50 PM] Victoria: Hence going back to the collapsed wall and turning right this time
  47. [1:50 PM] Maze-Senpai: Uhh, oops
  48. [1:50 PM] Maze-Senpai: will jsut give you some extra time
  49. [1:50 PM] Maze-Senpai: Sorry >_<
  50. [1:50 PM] Victoria: Sorry if I was unclear
  51. [1:51 PM] Maze-Senpai: Alright, the upper forward path
  52. [1:51 PM] Maze-Senpai: Ahem
  53. [1:53 PM] Victoria: (So that was about 20 minutes spent going the wrong way, going off timestamps)
  54. [1:57 PM] Maze-Senpai: The first path forward has a pathway on the left which leads to a slightly larger, more open room. Inside there room there's a section of collapsed ceiling as well as a large amount of debris. Floating back and forth across the room is a strange creature. A path exiting from the room leads further into the maze. (You get +10mins since you did still learn stuff from that, despite it not being the intended course of action, if you think that's unfair I'm willing to hear your suggestions.) Straight ahead on the intial path (not the path out of the room) is a hall-shaped hole in a ceiling collapse which leads to a section of hall painted bright blue on all sides(edited)
  55. [1:57 PM] Maze-Senpai: http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/kirby/images/b/ba/GordoDeluxe.png/revision/latest?cb=20140501151148&path-prefix=en
  56.
  57. [1:58 PM] Victoria: I didn't really learn anything the others didn't - I'd known about a wall that people tried to attack already and didn't really learn much else. However getting lost in a maze is somewhat reasonable. So I'd argue a compromise of 15 minutes?
  58. [1:59 PM] Victoria: ((Also I actually think I have an idea of where I am now))
  59. [2:00 PM] Maze-Senpai: 15 is fine (I'm semi-arbitrarily cutting people off when I feel they've made a reasonable amount of progress anyways)
  60. [2:00 PM] Victoria: ((Not from the getting lost, from the "more open room" description))
  61. [2:00 PM] Maze-Senpai: Yeh
  62. [2:00 PM] Maze-Senpai: Anyways, continue before you waste too much time :stuck_out_tongue:
  63. [2:01 PM] Victoria: Lets try to avoid the creature. Sticking to the edge of the room, Victoria starts heading towards the path that leads deeper into the maze.
  64. [2:02 PM] Maze-Senpai: The path deeper is rather long and ends in a small alcove, just before the alcove is a right turn
  65. [2:03 PM] Victoria: Let's head down the right turn
  66. [2:05 PM] Maze-Senpai: The right turn leads to another long hallway. The wall on the left is littered with cracks. Down the path is another Gordo bouncing rapidly in and out of another alcove(edited)
  67. [2:06 PM] Victoria: Is it touching the ground at all, and is it reasonable that she could crawl under it without touching it? Alternatively, about how long does it take to make a bounce
  68. [2:06 PM] Victoria: (that is, to bounce back into the alcove and then out again)
  69. [2:09 PM] Maze-Senpai: It's not touching the ground, it's floating in the air and could probably be snuck under. It's moving too fast to be entirely certain how long, but there's probably around a second where it's fully inside the alcove
  70. [2:10 PM] Victoria: Taking time is better than rushing and getting stabbed. Victoria crawls under it, as fast as she can and starting with a dive once it's started going back towards the alcove. She is careful to avoid the spike.
  71. [2:10 PM] Victoria: ((Whatever knowledge I may have of the enemy type, it's not knowledge Victoria has - I'm basing her actions off what she sees.))
  72. [2:11 PM] Maze-Senpai: Victoria safely makes it past Hyperspeed Gordo and reaches a left turn in the hall, which in turn leads to another left
  73. [2:12 PM] Victoria: Go down the hall - no point going back, she doesn't have the time. She's going as fast as she can while maintaining awareness of her surroundings
  74. [2:13 PM] Maze-Senpai: After both turns is another long hall. This hall has a short left-right zig-zag, afterwhich the hall goes on a little further before ending in a dark purple wall
  75. [2:14 PM] Victoria: Going off the map - and it was a map, she knew, it fit her path - Victoria goes down to that wall and examines it.
  76. [2:14 PM] Maze-Senpai: The blinking accelerates again, once more increasing the urgency of the situation
  77. [2:15 PM] Victoria: (And the examination will include touching it, and most of the other things she tried on that blue wall before)
  78. [2:15 PM] Victoria: She will also try saying aloud - "Open! I have completed the maze!"
  79. [2:16 PM] Maze-Senpai: The wall is smooth to the touch and responds to no form of provocation, not even Victoria's vocal demand. It appears to fit airtight against the other walls of the maze
  80. [2:16 PM] Victoria: "What did I miss..." Victoria mutters. She looks at the walls around it, and the floor in front of it, and finally the ceiling - nobody ever looks up.
  81. [2:18 PM] Maze-Senpai: The walls around it reveal nothing, the floor is the same. Looking up Victoria sees a small message scrawled on the ceiling in messy handwriting (what languages does Victoria speak?)
  82. [2:18 PM] Victoria: She speaks English and Japanese
  83. [2:18 PM] Victoria: Although the Japanese is more difficult for her
  84. [2:18 PM] Maze-Senpai: But unfortunately, the message poroves unreadable to her
  85. [2:19 PM] Victoria: ((Huh. Does the completion of the maze depend on speaking a specific language :v))
  86. [2:19 PM] Maze-Senpai: (No, the message has nothing to do with finishing, we ain't LotR here)
  87. [2:20 PM] Victoria: Victoria looks at the message - is it a recognizable language, if not one she speaks?
  88. [2:20 PM] Maze-Senpai: The lettering is Roman, and although it lacks spacing and punctuation, she manages to pick out the words "Chronos" and "Watcher"(edited)
  89. [2:21 PM] Victoria: If she can recognize "Watcher", then wouldn't that mean English? Or would it be a sort of proper-noun kind of thing
  90. [2:22 PM] Maze-Senpai: It's unclear, as the lettering is all-caps, but there's enough that she can't understand for it to plainly be not-English(edited)
  91. [2:23 PM] Victoria: Alrighty. Victoria looks around again, at the other walls near her too - she must have missed something... could it be something with those blue walls? But what would they have to do with it...
  92. [2:23 PM] Victoria: ((I am somewhat stumped, admittedly - and I'm not sure if I have any time left.))
  93. [2:24 PM] Maze-Senpai: (just over five minutes)
  94. [2:24 PM] Victoria: So nothing on the other walls, or even back a bit?
  95. [2:25 PM] Maze-Senpai: Victoria doesn't find anything of interest on the nearby walls, it seems she missed something on the way here
  96. [2:25 PM] Victoria: Cursing under her breath, she rushes back the way she came - she's aiming to go to the blue things that was in the larger room.
  97. [2:26 PM] Maze-Senpai: The blinking accelerates its pace yet again, reaching such speeds that it hurts Victoria's eyes
  98. [2:27 PM] Maze-Senpai: Victoria rushes back to the blue room, sliding under Hyperspeed Gordo safely but forgetting about the Gordo in the larger room, causing her to accidentally skin her knee of the floor when she tries to dodge it. Entering the blue-painted room, nothing overt happens, but she feels a sense of accomplishment, more than that of just reaching the location, indicating that she had at least done something(edited)
  99. [2:28 PM] Victoria: Alrighty then - she did something. She looks around - walls, ceiling, floor - before again rushing back. Maybe that was it, and if it wasn't she had no more time for anything else anyway
  100. [2:30 PM] Victoria: (Don't suppose I could get an extra minute to cover those bits we did OOC conversation? :stuck_out_tongue: (I am mostly joking))(edited)
  101. [2:30 PM] Maze-Senpai: Nothign appears different about the bright blue room nor the hall-shaped hole in the collapsed ceiling that led to it. As she rushes back she ducks around the large room Gordo and slides easily past Hyperspeed Gordo. She reaches the purple wall but it remains unmoved, even when she attempts to touch or otherwise pursuade it
  102. [2:31 PM] Victoria: So I assume that's time - or just about?
  103. [2:31 PM] Maze-Senpai: Pretty much
  104. [2:31 PM] Victoria: How close was I?
  105. [2:32 PM] Maze-Senpai: The blinking suddenly stops and the entire maze goes red. Victoria has a moment to be stunned before she finds herself transported to another location entirely. It's a comfortable lounge populated by those who went before her. There are several couches and chairs, and a table with fresh food from various universes
