  6. Chapter I- A trip to London.
  7.
  8. Drina was born among a group of Romani gypsies who used to travel to different places and traded the things. Drina was ambitious to learn about fortune telling. In her whole group, there was only one lady who knew how to tell fortune, her name was Madam Lala. She was an old woman who was always feeling tired now. Drina grew up, being taught how to tell fortunes by her she was as better as Madam Lala when she was 25 years old.
  9. They were heading to London to sell some fruits which they had collected from their trades. Drina decided to earn by telling fortune to people while they stay there. London was one of the busiest places and she had never gone into the cities alone. She asked Madam Lala which places are good for telling fortune and she told that "there are places where people drink, bet, earn by their fortune, Fortunes play a big role there, why don’t you go and tell them about their fortune?” she smiled. Drina was going to earn from her skills for the first time, she was feeling happy about it. Drina went in towns, reading fortunes, warning people about upcoming troubles. Other night, she decided to go to a bar, she heard there was a stag party and in the bar. She went there during dusk when party didn’t even start, still there were a lot of people and Drina told them about their fortune. Stag party started at eleven. Men were betting, cheering, laughing meanwhile Drina was earning a lot from her fortune telling. She was counting her money, not paying attention what was going around here. “Add them as well,” a guy said with a smile whilst throwing few coins on the table. Drina looked at him, his eyes were deep. “Sit and we shall begin”. The guy extended his right hand, showing his palm to Drina. “I thought you want me to look at ca-…”
  10. “No, forget the cards, how good are you at this?” the guy asked with, he was smiling continuously which was making Drina uncomfortable. “Okay, I’ll try” Drina replied. She grabbed his hand and she was stunned for a moment, his hand was cold, very cold. Drina looked at his palm and she was shocked.
  11. “You should be dead…by now…..you’re life line….isn’t long enough…you should be careful, you can die tonight, tomorrow….anytime but soon” Drina said in shock. “Oh…really? That’s not very……comforting, is it?” The guy said in a clam manner like he didn’t believe Drina. “Come on, now my turn to read your fortune” The guy forcefully grabbed her hand, Drina resisted at first but his grip was strong. “Hmm let me see,” the guy said while making weird faces at her hand. “Stop it! You’re wasting my time” Drina said. The guy acted like he didn’t hear her at all. “Oh…terrible….terrible,” he said, “Something bad is going to happen to you my dear little gypsy, you better stay away from streets at night”. Drina took her hand away from him. “You’re done, you can go now,” Drina said. The guy nodded with a slight smile on his way and disappeared. After earning few more coins, she decided to go back to her people.
  12. Drina was walking down through the streets of London in the night. ‘You better stay away from streets at night’ that guy’s voice echoed in her mind ‘Terrible’. Drina couldn’t take it. ‘My dear little gypsy’. The voice was echoing in her mind louder now. “WHAT DO YOU WANT?!” she asked, knowing she won't get an answer from the wind but she said that anyway. “You” a voice replied from her behind. As soon as she turned around, the guy hit her head with a blunt object and she fell unconscious

  14. CHAPTER II – Trick or Treat
  15.
  16. Drina opened her eyes, she was laying on the ground. “Where am I?” Drina whispered to herself. “Where you should be, you little trickster” a voice replied. Drina recognized the voice this time, he was the guy from the stag party. “I didn’t die, you predicted wrong, I predicted correct” he said “Am I better than you?”. Drina looked around to find him but it was too dark, she can’t see anything. “Am I better or you don’t even know how to tell fortune” he continued. “Let me go!” Drina said. “You are free to go, you’re always free to go”. A candle by the wall lit up, she didn’t know who did it. “I have to go now, see you later…trickster”. She still couldn’t see him where he was but she heard the door getting locked. “WAIT! You can’t keep me here!”. There was no reply. Darina fell on her knees, seeing there was no way to escape this place but that door which was lock. She didn’t even bother to open it since she heard it was lock. She woke up next day and saw some wine and bread with some cheese in front of her. She eat the dry bread and drank some wine to swallow it. “Who is better at tricking people…you...or me?” He asked again. Drina looked around and still there was no one. “Why don’t you come in front of me?” Drina asked. “I’m already here, tricking you….you’re such a failed trickster for being a gypsy” He said. “I’m not a trickster!” Drina shouted.
  17. “You tried to trick me…see….I’m still alive and you said that I should be dead”
  18. “Let me go!” Drina shouted “You can always go” he replied. A tear rolled down from her eyes. “I’m a better trickster than you, my dear little gypsy” he said. Drina didn’t even bother reply him this time. She laid whole day, thinking what trick is he talking about, why does he always say that she can go?. She stood up and walked towards the door and she opened it. The door was not locked at all. It was always opened. In fact there was nothing to lock the door, just the handle to open it, there was no way he could have locked it with a pad lock. Drina was sure that she heard the door getting locked. “Well, well…did I tell you a lot? Or did you use your brain?” he was standing in front of her under moonlight, his tone was friendly. “What do you want? Why are you doing this?” Drina asked calmly. “I want you.” He replied. “You proved you are a better trickster than me”.
  19. “I didn’t prove anything” Drina replied. “Yes, you did….you escaped from the room which was never locked, you predicted that I should be dead by now….so…shall we try again? I’m gonna predict your future...you know how good I’m at this” he said with a grin on his face, he stepped forward. Drina started to walk backward since she was not feeling comfortable. Drina turned around and started to run around the place, she didn’t know where she was running, all she knew she was getting away from him. Drina was just about the go down from stairs, suddenly the wooden stairs broke and shattered into pieces, the roof started to fall down. Drina screamed as she looked at the roof, falling at her and in the end she closed her eyes whilst still screaming. “Shut up!” the guy said who was standing behind her. Drina opened her eyes, wondering how is she alive. She looked at the roof and it was fine, the stairs were all fine as well, nothing had happened. She looked at him and he was looking at her with a smile on his face. “Who….are….you?” Drina asked in a miserable tone. “A gypsy” he replied. Her eyes were wide opened. “Do you think you are the only one who know how to tell fortunes?” he said. “I used to tell fortunes but now…I make my own fortune and I make other’s fortune and you, I’ve already made your fortune”
  20. “What?” Drina asked, he was right. Drina can’t change the fact that all the time everything was going according to him. He hit Drina’s head with his bare hand and Drina lost her senses. Drina woke up about hours later, she was feeling a thirsty but it was not the thirst of water. It was something else. Drina looked around and she saw a guy sitting on couch, he was tied. Drina lunged on him inserted her fangs in his neck and started to drink it. She was feeling so good. “Well, well….the cherry is popped in my absence, I wanted to play some games” Her sire said. Drina ignored her and kept drinking the blood. “You know what, you gotta stop…he’ll die.” Her sire stepped forward and pulled Drina away from the unconscious guy on the chair. “What have you done to me?” Drina asked, looking at her sire. “You are a kindred, my dear little gypsy….you drink blood, you have powers.” He said with a grin on his face. “Why me?” Drina asked. “You are good at tricking people and with better resources, we can achieve a lot” he replied. “The next thing is, we are moving to America. There’s so much to get and very less to lose right now”. Drina couldn’t get what he meant. “What is your name?” Drina asked and his reply was a bit weird. “I don’t know, people call me ‘The Gypsy’ so I accepted this name”.

  22. CHAPTER III - America
  23.
  24. He helped Drina getting a new ID to avoid their past and she became under the name of Drina Sandokana, Indian. It wasn't that bad when she thought of it because she kept her first name. It took her time about getting used to that name. When the reached America, The Gypsy told her that there are not a lot of kindred here, not yet but soon this place is going to be flooded with them. Together they played a lot of foul games and made their way to 1990’s where her sire finally abandoned her. Drina was abandoned as soon as she finally had mastered the art of illusions. She’s not sure whether her sire left her or something happened to him. She’s waiting and still looking out for him.
