  1. [The Spartoi Project]
  2. \\The Rookie 9//
  3. \\Children of Fuji Musume//
  4. \\Genin Clad in Crimson Capes//
  5.
  6.
  7. The Spartoi Project is an initiative established by the Juuichidaime Kazekage – Arisugawa Enzan – following the events that ended the conflict between Sunagakure and Suna no Soushoku. Named after the Fuji Musume wisteria tree erected in the middle of the village, The Spartoi is a classroom of the latest generation of graduates leaving Sunagakure’s Academy. Graduates of Spartoi aren’t only identified by their Hitai-ate, but are also renowned for being clad in crimson capes, which holds wisteria flower patterns on the cloth. Placing special focus on their development through providing a vast outlet of opportunities for the class to grow as a unit, Enzan’s hope is to build a stronger community within the village itself – so why not start at the roots?
  8.
  9. [School Uniform]
  10. Graduates of the Spartoi class follow a uniformed aesthetic, which consists of deep maroons, crimsons, sand browns and gray hues, which often holds golden trim. Stylized like a battle outfit fit for shinobi, the classical school look of the uniform is complimented by a high collar, maroon button down top adorned with gold armor plating on the shoulders. Either deep crimson shinobi sandals or tabi cuff loose fitting sand brown pants (or skirts, if applicable), whereas a dark brown sash fastens their waists.
  11.
  12. Along with their Hitai-ate, they are rewarded with a short crimson all purpose cape tied about the neck, secured with a golden ring fashioned with the word Spartoi carved in big block letters within its surface. The cape is also imprinted with distinctive wisteria flower type patterns blossomed on the fabric.
  13.
  14. Students may customize their uniform to either suit their personal style or adjust for practicality in relation to their form of combat. Members who hail from Sunagakure’s Clans often harmonize the aesthetic of their culture within the construction of their outfit.
  15.
  16. Any addition must be listed in the Clothing description of the character’s information. Uniforms are mandatory.
  17.
  18. [Titles]
  19. Titles are prestigious aliases associated to Genin of Spartoi, often bestowed onto them in relation to their Class Ranking upon graduation of Sunagakure’s Academy. Students’ go through a written exam, a practical exam, and interview to decide their Title. They are as follows:
  20. 1. Kaleidoscope of Dawn – Number One Rookie
  21. 2. Telescope of Dusk – Number Two Rookie
  22. 3. Aficionado of Mirage – Genjutsu Specialist
  23. 4. Alchemist of Stars – Ninjutsu Specialist
  24. 5. Soldier of Fortune – Taijutsu Specialist
  25. 6. Dealer of Hope – Medical Specialist
  26. 7. Ace of Swords – Sword Specialist
  27. 8. Emissary of Dust – Genin of the Dustmen
  28. 9. The Saboteur – Worst Student
  29. Quote:
  30. Kaleidoscope of Dawn
  31. To look, to examine / observation of beautiful forms
  32. At the end of the year, the top two students of the class duke it out to see who acquires the title of Gaoukishi-Souke – a name given to families of Martial Arts Champions. This year, the title has changed to the Kaleidoscope of Dawn, a name that referrers to the limitless potential the Number One Rookie of the classroom has shown throughout their academic career. They are the undisputed student of the Spartoi, known for both their grades and skill as a shinobi.
  33.
  34. Telescope of Dusk
  35. To look or see / far seeing
  36. At the end of the year, the top two students of the class duke it out to see who acquires the title of Kaleidoscope of Dawn, the loser of this duel is then known as the Telescope of Dusk – The Number Two Rookie of their graduating class. This is a student who may have been bested by the Number One Rookie, but the margin between their skill set isn’t as grandiose as one may presume. They understand their shortcoming, and hold an amicable foresight structured to capitalize upon their future growth—such is the perseverance of the number two.
  37.
  38. Aficionado of Mirage
  39. To look at / to wonder at / to admire
  40. A student who is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Genjutsu, the Aficionado of Mirage has spent an almost obsessive amount of time studying books that illustrate the illusionary arts. From Magic tricks to fortune telling, to other natural—and sometimes unnatural—phenomena many refuse to comprehend, the merit of the student’s arsenal doesn’t only lay within their impressive repertoire of deceptionary tactics, but within the strategy behind their imagination to execute their skill. They are, by all means, the most cunning observer of the Spartoi.
  41.
  42. Alchemist of Stars
  43. Speculative philosophy / Transmuting universal solvents
  44. A remarkable craftsman who sees the beauty and miraculous dexterity in the composition of Ninjutsu arts, the Alchemist of Stars is a clever student whose resolve and intransigence can only be matched by the cunning and imagination of the Aficionado of Mirage. As such, this student’s affinity for the science of mysticism is as exceptional as their noteworthy practices of creation—whether it be drawing blue prints for items or discovering new methods for antique objects to bloom anew—they are affixed by the concept of finding new ways to appraise old trains of thought. This, though, is only a precursor to their profound abilities.
  45.
  46. Soldier of Fortune
  47. Nomadic / Freedom of movement / Military virtues
  48. Also referred to as Youxia – Wandering Force – the Soldier of Fortune is a hand-to-hand combatant akin to drifting martial artist of folklore. They are prone to honing their Taijutsu skills while finding virtue in harmonizing their mind in relation to perfecting their craft. As the most efficient student of close-quarters warfare, the strategic knack and execution of combat theory associated with this shinobi doesn’t remotely scratch the surface of their potential. They are usually seen as underdogs, almost moreso than The Saboteur.
  49.
  50. Dealer of Hope
  51. To revise / to alter, or adapt to remedy a condition
  52. They say working in a hospital is the most depressing thing to do, for Medics bare witness to the aftermath the gruesome world of a shinobi has to offer—more often than many. The Dealer of Hope understands the duality of it all, the duality that tightropes between dismemberment to the common cold; all for the betterment of their village. They continue to pursue their career in the healing arts despite this reality, holding fast with an optimistic—and possibly naïve—nostalgia rooted in the grit of saving lives by any means necessary. This is their peace.
  53.
  54. Ace of Swords
  55. Decisive ability to cut through confusion / Expose deception
  56. They know a lot about swords, they know a lot pertaining to swords, their wealth of knowledge in terms of blades can even be matched by blacksmith, who would still be impressed by their analytics of razor edged equipment. The Ace of Swords is not only given to the student who ends up being a Sword Specialist—who maybe a sword collector, or has a large collection of swords, or loves to share their knowledge of swords with people—but also is known to display a keen insight for radical decision making and leadership; like a blade, capable of cutting through deception at any means necessary.
  57.
  58. Emissary of Dust
  59. A consul / A messenger / A diplomatic agent
  60. The Dustmen are retired Shinobi clad in majestic robes and talismans found in the depths of Kaze no Kuni. It isn’t too often that they send a student to amalgamate into Sunagakure’s Academic program, for they are scientists who study ancient scripture and are concessioners of poisonous arts. To keep relations between they and Sand in tact, they’ve sent an Emissary of Dust to become more involved with the city. [Special Perk] Genin has access to the Sand Forgotten Arts at creation.
  61.
  62. The Saboteur
  63. The Fool / The beggar
  64. Or even—The Madman. The Saboteur is a conundrum of a title used to describe the Genin with the worst grades and least amount of potential out of the lot. Either by virtue of laziness, or visible lack of skill or foresight, they’ve arrived at the bottom of the Dean’s list maybe out of sheer dumb luck, or possibly they are an underdog mastermind whose latent expertise are late to bloom. For whatever case, this title is bestowed upon the worst student of the class. But let it be known—even the fool, as explained by tarot cards, also means Checkmate.
  65. [Rewards]
  66. Every Genin created for The Spartoi Project receives 2GMAP at Creation
  67. Every Genin who hails from a Sunagakure Clan receives an additional 1AP at Creation
  68.
  69. [Clans]
  70. [Bloodline] Arechihana
  71. [Bloodline] Tsuriau
  72. [Regular] Kabane
  73. [Regular] Renchishin
  74. [Regular] Hakkenshi
  75. [Regular] Mujina
  76. [Guidelines/What I’m Looking For]
  77. This is an initiative to build up the community of Sunagakure by taking it back to basics. Most of us are nostalgic over the early days of Naruto where Genin Teams were, in a word – kick ass and mystical. I remember when I entered Engi (way back in the day, Engi 1.0) Renchishin Hitoko was a mere Genin, who had a team, went through the Chuunin Exams and did a lot of cool things; I want to cultivate and facilitate that type of fun/hype once again, although I know it’ll take work and dedication.
  78. What I’m looking for is a class of 9 New Genin, made specifically for the Spartoi Project.
  79.
  80. Students must be between the ages 10-12.
  81.
  82. I need 3 Female Genin. I don’t know why I thought to list this, but there’s just a lot of dude-power around the forum, lol.
  83.
  84. Sign up is easy, simply post below declaring your interest in joining the class, and also post the Title your character will be taking, so things don’t become clustered.
  85.
  86. Those interested should definitely talk amongst each other in order to synchronize biographies. The more you mention one another in biographies, the more likely I’ll approve.
  87.
  88. Biographies should be written in first person/interview type format, I say this not only because I’m a sucker for first person narratives, but it’ll also help you figure out the voice of your character better [See Hyousetsu Echizen, Getsuei Gen, or Renchishin Hitoko for example]. Get invested. Don’t get too crazy though, ya’ll get 1,500 words or less, minimum of 500 words since the stories will essentially be focused on each character’s family and experience in the Academy.
  89.
  90. Dazai Nevin served as the Class’s Academy Teacher.
  91. [Jounin of Spartoi]
  92. With that being said, I need 3 Jounin to participate in the Spartoi Project. I like the dynamic of having these three individuals being teammates in the past. If you are a current Jounin and want in, send me a PM.
  93.
  94. Extra Guest Roster [Chuunin]
  95. Chuunin can act as substitute teachers for teams at any time, but they are usually assigned to work under the Jounin (or Sennin) of each team.
  96.
  97. Events / Mission List / Special Events
  98. • The Overnight
  99. • The Gion Tournament
