-Ayame is suspicious of Berta because she always sneaks off at night. Although the suspicion is more like she doesn't like Berta because Berta smacked her upside the head during the Fort raid.
-Ayame is very childlike and simplistic.
-Ayame sees Berta eating and faints and wets herself. Apparently this is the second time, the first time being off screen after the fight with Werewolf Takaya.
-Berta apparently can understand Ayame's "talking" just fine.
-Berta apologizes to Ayame and she readily accepts. They become kinda friends.
-Berta had killed the strongest monster in the region and was eating it to get stronger (a lesser salamander). Ayame also wants to get stronger and Berta lets her eat some of it too.
-Berta reveals to Ayame that Berta is actually a goddamn Scylla. Compared to Spider or Shiran's western features, she has Asian ones. Ayame thinks she looks about the same age as Takahiro.
-Ayame thinks Berta is really strong in Scylla form, but still not quite at Spider or Lily's level.
-The reason Berta isn't always in Scylla mode is because Kudo doesn't like it and ordered her to not use it. Ayame thinks that Berta looks a little jealous that Takahiro doesn't mind monster girls.
-Ayame wants to get stronger and be like Berta. She also wants to be a cute girl because she heard Mana telling Rose that Takahiro would prefer that (despite going on earlier in the chapter how her smallness is easier to pet). Ayame doesn't get why but believes what Mana said anyway. Mana is the source of all evil, corrupting pure monster girls.
-Berta says Ayame probably can't do the same things to get the same result like she did, but Berta has met (and killed and eaten) monsters that can shapeshift into humans like doppelgangers, turn metal, grow wings, or foxes that can use illusory magic.
-Ayame tries to do some but fails and Berta lets her know she has no talent for it. Not that she can't use it, she just has too little mana for it currently.
-Berta cheers Ayame up by saying that Ayame has the potential to surpass Spider (note that Berta seems incapable of lying is 100% serious 100% of the time). Berta believes this is because of the opposite natures of Takahiro and Kudo's abilities (how Kudo controls quantity and Takahiro quality), and that Takahiro's ability found Ayame at her extreme young age before her potential has even manifested, not to mention being in an environment for her potential to bloom well. Berta also takes the opportunity to say that Asarina is probably the only one with more potential than Ayame (Takahiro was actually going on about that earlier as well, since she's a plant feeding directly off of a cheat power since birth).
-Apparently Asarina also has good chances at learning illusory magic.
-Ayame doesn't understand over half of Berta's explanation and sums it as she just has to work hard. Berta says it'll take a while, but Ayame's 'a while' is tomorrow's tomorrow.
-Berta herself doesn't like Scylla form because of some regret in the past before she had a name. Apparently this makes her wonder why she couldn't be Anton and got stuck as Berta, whatever that's trying to imply.
-Ayame doesn't understand what's going on, but licks Berta on one of her noses and tells her that she likes her form.
-Berta agrees to help Ayame's transforming practice and will go hunting together sometimes. Balloon Foxes are good at hunting according to Berta and Berta thinks that she can learn some hunting things from Ayame too.
-Chapter ends with the morning mist growing stronger and stronger, and Ayame narrating that she had no idea she was getting wrapped up in an abnormality.

So Takahiro's group is getting caught up in trouble, and Ayame and Berta are now, too. Wonder if the trend's going to continue and Lily and Spider have something coming their way as well.
So cue Ayame eventually turning out to be a Kitsune from Japanese yokai folklore, turning completely into a woman and whatnot.
Asarina gonna get a girl form too because why not, girl forms for everyone, like a bargain sale. And Mana can get a monster girl form to even things out (not really).
 And this is just a stretch from my own speculation, but the Dark Beast girl may not be entirely unrelated to Berta's Asian appearance and why Takaya was trying to use her to provoke (fake) Kudo.
