  11.
  12. PLASMA REBUFFED : Damage no longer adds, but each shot does a lot more damage at the cost of blast radius.
  13. Basically it takes out chunks of a craft instead of just gibbing it. Also the projectiles are faster, and turn speed on turret.
  14.
  15. RIP Hackers. Anti-hack is here and it did things I guess.
  16.
  17. Plasma has been here, sue me I can't update sometimes. Its powerful as fuck. Air combat is totally back in force, 4v4 air battles are relatively common. Bombers are dangerous, hitting fliers with plasma is rewarding, and the forums are full of shit.

  64.
  65. /* Starter Guide */
  66.
  67. >Controls
  68.
  69. Menus are all accessible by hotkeys. '1' accesses your block inventory, '2' the store, '3' the tech tree.
  70. 'G' shows your Garage, you start with three bays and three robots. You can rename robots here.
  71. 'O' puts you in the queue to join an online game. They start on 3 minute intervals.
  72. 'P' throws you into a practice level, to test if your robot has a case of the downs or not.
  73.
  74. In battle LMB fires your weapons, WASD moves your robot. Space to ascend, shift to descend if you can fly.
  75.
  76. >Currency
  77.
  78. RP (Green) is resource points, you buy parts with it.
  79. TP (Orange) is technology points, you research new stuff with it.
  80. GC (Blue) is galactic cash or something, pay for currency that you can buy more bays with.
  81.
  82. >Research
  83.
  84. You start with nothing. Fight some battles to get some 'TP' (orange currency). Then go to the tech tree.
  85. It has some categories on the left, flip through them so you know whats where. Its identical to the store and inventory.
  86.
  87. This is the recommended course of stuff to begin :
  88.
  89. - L1 'S-Type' Laser (L1S). Most people like the top gun, but choose what you want to use. Extra range and damage over the L1 base type. General idea is never mess with non 'S-Type' weapons because they lack range.
  90. - L1 Armor (Green blocks). Research all of them. Highly useful, and the bricks aren't too expensive. Yet.
  91. - L1 'S-Type' Wheels/Hover/Thrusters (L1S). DO NOT FORGET TO UPGRADE MOVEMENT (Especially wheels!) . Being slow in higher tiers is terrible.
  92. - L2 Radar. The L1 has 50m range. The L2 has 75m range. Much more useful. Use both, too. More on that later.
  93.
  94. From there, research into whatever you like. Rushing laser or plasma is never a bad idea, but don't forget armor and movement.
  95.
  96. >Aiming
  97.
  98. (It should be noted that colored crosshairs keep breaking a lot. Don't depend on them and spam click.)
  99. I feel like it should be mentioned that the current idea behind aiming and crosshairs is that they turn green when you are in range. To be more specific, they probably turn green when your chair is in gun range of their chair, so regardless of where your guns are placed. Long story short, you can usually hit targets just before the reticule turns green.
  100.
  101. >Rewards
  102.
  103. Rewards have changed. They are based mainly on performance now, so kills and capping. Tiering up is actually a terrible thing to do now, and its actually being removed in a update in the future.
  104.
  105. >Repairs
  106.
  107. Repairs are free, but take time. The time taken depends on tier and damage, and possibly CPU use and total robot level.
  108.
  109. >Maps
  110.
  111. The level maps have been posted here : http://robocraftgame.com/robocraft-level-maps/
  112.
  113. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. /* General Build Tips */
  116.
  117. Can't think of anything to build? Go look through your game library and think of vehicles in those games. Whether its a Toyota Prius, to a Covenant Wraith, to a GDI Orca fighter, theres a lot of shit to build. Browse what /vg/ has made, and see if its effective. There are a number of revisions of the Sunwalker aircraft, its all good.
  118.
  119. exzero made a detailed spreadsheet of parts and their weights : http://i.imgur.com/zWqSygA.png
  120.
  121. Someone made an spreadsheet of all the parts, their costs, Pflops, etc. Take a look : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Aq5qnyNoUw1JdFlpRHJ5S2ZLR2VKc3puOHhaRWVyZGc&single=true&gid=0&output=html
  122.
  123. >Drivers Seat
  124.
  125. Your driver's seat behaves strangely. It is the core of your robo, and if you lose it, you die.
  126.
  127. There are two ways your driver's seat can be destroyed. The first is if it is disconnected from the robo. The seat itself is invulnerable, but the blocks it sits on aren't. Use your strongest armor to base your seat and to protect it.
  128.
  129. The other way a driver's seat can be destroyed is if "all non-chassis blocks are destroyed." This means that if you are reduced to a potato and can't do anything, you are 'destroyed', and you get sent back to the garage. A good way to prevent this is to make a "lifeline" to another non-chassis block. Do note that as useless as they are, headlamps works as a non-chassis block.
  130.
  131. >Lasers
  132.
  133. So lasers are dumb. Each individual click will fire the 3 (2?) strongest lasers you have. Holding the button down cycles through them from high to low levels. Each additional laser you have ups your maximum fire rate to a top level of 5 shots per second, with 8 lasers. More than that is redundant, but not necessarily a bad thing.
  134.
  135. Lasers will only fire in the direction the GUN is pointing. They no longer fire on the cursor, and don't track as fast as you can move your mouse.
  136.
  137. Another thing to know is that SOME lasers are capable of firing through ONE (1) block on your craft. This means you can place blocks in front of lasers to protect them better, without sacrificing the ability to fire them.
  138.
  139. Top version lasers are easier to aim, and do more damage than front lasers. Front's have more range to account for that.
  140.
  141. >Plasma
  142.
  143. Plasma is new and changing a lot. Expect shit to be different.
  144.
  145. Plasma is the other weapon you can use. You can ONLY place them on the TOP of blocks. A single click fires up to the 6 strongest plasma you have. This means any more is seriously redundant. Plasma deals splash damage to all blocks in the radius. This means that armor is practically pointless for a direct hit. Either go dodge or go super fat.
  146.
  147. The reload speed is scaled to how many plasma FIRED, but not what level they were. Regardless of level, reload speed is the same.
  148.
  149. 6 5S plasma shells are insanely deadly, but all plasma requires serious aiming skills.
  150.
  151. >Radar
  152.
  153. Radar is simple. They point towards the nearest enemy. There are three levels, L1-3. They have ranges 50m, 75m, and 100m respectively.
  154.
  155. It is a very good idea to use two radars at the same time. With a L2 and an L1, you can get a lot of information about where enemies are and how close they are, and if they are moving closer or further away.
  156.
  157. It should be noted that while you can place radar so its horizontal, this makes it very hard to point in the direction of the radars base.
  158.
  159. >Armoring
  160.
  161. (>implying armor is useful anymore with plasma)
  162.
  163. First of all, Heavy blocks (Black ones) have the same armor as L0 blocks (White ones). They are used exclusively for their weight for balancing, AND ARE NOT CONSIDERED ARMOR. If you are using a ground vehicle, placing these as a bottom chassis lowers your center of gravity and makes it harder to flip.
  164.
  165. Each armor block weighs different amounts. Cubes 5kg, Prisms 2.5kg, and Tetras 1.65kg. These values do not change across tiers.
  166.
  167. All armor block types (cubes, prisms, tetras) share the same armor value. This means that a full cube and a tetra have the same armor value, and take the same amount of punishment. Abuse this if you want a lightweight robo, or you are making a flier.
  168.
  169. Sloped armor designs are useful. They reduce your profile, and more importantly, your weight.
  170.
  171. READ THIS ABOUT ADVANCED ARMOR TECHNIQUES : http://pastebin.com/Rn8w28g4
  172.
  173. ABLATIVE ARMOR, also known as using multiple layers, is good. This means using sacrificial low tier armor to take hits, and having a core of standard high tier armor.
  174.
  175. SPACED ARMOR has some semi official research completed. Reference this image : http://i.imgur.com/pdCqEZT.jpg
  176. Essentially, blocks transmit damage if they are overkilled, until the damage is depleted. If they have no block to transmit to, the extra damage is removed. Kudos to research anons in the thread.
  177.
  178. >Wheels
  179.
  180. Wheels are weird. Powered wheels (Motor and Dual), have speed limits that your robot will not be able to exceed.
  181. This means that if you have a pair of L3S and a pair of L1's, your robot will fucking hate you and not be able to go fast. Also it'll drive like shit. Seriously, try it. What basically happens is that the slower wheels will start braking even though the faster ones will be still accelerating.
  182.
  183. Unpowered wheels (Steering) have no speed limits. What this means is that you can use the unpowered wheels (Steering), with rear wheel drive (Motor or Dual) and make a RWD car. This also means that you can use unpowered exclusively, and shove stupid amounts of thrusters on your car, and become a jet car. However, jet cars suck at turning and going up hills, as the lack of power to the ground causes issues.
  184.
  185. As you level up wheels you will notice they get wider. This makes it harder to flip over, and when you do, sometimes they can still grab the ground and allow you to spin yourself upright. (Editors note: This works on my 4x4 BRDM-2, so I can't say it'll work for everyone.)
  186.
  187. >Thrusters / Hoverblades
  188.
  189. Before you ask, thrusters and hoverblades ONCE AGAIN don't need space to work.
  190. See : http://i.imgur.com/q7f44oz.png
  191. Thrusters simply apply force. They get larger as you upgrade them, and have more armor.
  192.
  193. Low level thrusters no longer have stupid levels of armor. Higher tier ones have not changed, so a L5S thruster can still take a few shots.
  194.
  195. Hoverblades are a little wonky. Each additional level they can provide more lift and can move faster. Keep in mind that hoverblades face the same speed limit issue tires face, as well as a height cap. However, this speed limit is a lot more liberal. If you are wondering why some aircraft can fly so high, its because they use helium and thrusters.
  196.
  197. >Helium
  198.
  199. Helium applies negative weight. The value stated in game and the actual value are different. The real value a single helium cube weighs is about -14.13 kg. Use this to offset weight your hoverblades can't handle, to make your tank lighter for whatever reason, and to make aircraft. Be warned, this number may change once devs realise the tooltip is wrong and -14.13 is a retarded number.
  200.
  201. Helium also has 0 armor. Make sure to armor this with light blocks, like tetras and prisms.
  202.
  203. Helium at the top of your craft is stable. Helium at the bottom is not. Super simple stuff.
