  1. >Everything was going to be okay.
  2. >Dad was here, and he could help you.
  3. "You can fix him, right, Daddy? He'll be okay again?"
  4. >You talk to the half-broken statue of your father, and the misty consciousness that pours out from it.
  5. >"Of course, Eris, of course. But first, you have to put me back together again."
  6. >He chuckles.
  7. >"You have to set me free."
  8. >Something....something, a memory tells you you shouldn't be doing this.
  9. >Your Dad should not be free.
  10. >He's sick, sick in the head, something Justy told you...
  11. >Justy.
  12. >He's hurt, still lying there, silent and cut up and hurt, like he's been for the past two weeks.
  13. >You can't leave him like that.
  14. "Of course I'll help get you free, Daddy! Then you can save him, and we'll all be together again! I'll...I'll have my family back!"
  15. >Your eyes twitch as you jump for joy and your father laughs.
  16. >Then you reach out, putting a paw on Discord's statue and a talon on Justy's form.
  17. >You need to find the rest of Dad's pieces.
  18. >You feel them, tiny embers in the Canterlot mountains, broken up and scattered.
  19. >You teleport you, the statue, and Justicar out of the garden.
  20. >You're going to play Humpty-Dumpty, and put Daddy Discord back together again.
  21.
  22.
  23. >A claw here, an elbow there, a thumb here.
  24. >You hum to yourself as you dart over the mountain, picking up bits and pieces of Discord and carting them back to the statue.
  25. >Each piece seems to seal itself to your Dad's body, glowing as it glues itself in place, leaving no cracks, no sign there was damage at all.
  26. >With each piece returned, your Father's voice grows stronger.
  27. >And your doubts grow a little weaker.
  28. >You can feel his attention elsewhere, occasionally, and you think he's reaching out, trying to talk to something outside the statue.
  29. >But that's okay.
  30. >He's your Dad, and you trust him.
  31. >Whatever he's doing, you don't care, as long as you can have him back.
  32. >As long as you can have Justy back.
  33. >That's all you care about. The whispers aren't important.
  34. >The memories, the thoughts that scream for to stop, that warn you about Chaos, about what Justicar told you about Tirek.
  35. >Those don't matter.
  36. >Daddy says they don't.
  37. >As you reconstruct your Father's body, you begin to notice something significant.
  38. >His head is missing. But he's still talking to you.
  39. >"Good, good, we're almost done, Eris. You've done so well. Papa's so proud of you. One last piece, and I'll be complete again. The Everfree, Eris. Go to the Everfree."
  40. >You smile at him, pleased at the praise, and lift your paw.
  41. >A swirl of yellow magic surrounds you, and you, Discord, and Justicar are transported once more.
  42. >Into the depths of the Everfree forest.
  43.
  44. Sound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxeoLhLdqnQ
  45. >There.
  46. >A little lump, covered by dirt, in the forest clearing.
  47. >A sound fills your mind, a slow, steady pounding, like an irregular heartbeat.
  48. >Or the sound of drums.
  49. >You reach down to brush the stone away, and there it is.
  50. >Your dear Daddy's stone face, frozen in terror.
  51. >You tremble violently, full of anger as you look over his frozen face.
  52. >What kind of monsters would do this to him?
  53. >The ponies of course. Untrustworthy monsters, those ponies.
  54. >They'd banished you and your family, left you to Tirek.
  55. >They'd abandoned Justy, and imprisoned your Fa-
  56. >No. They'd gone to fight the Eldar, and let you take care of Justy. They'd imprisoned your Dad and your family because of their fear, their fear of the Dark Go-
  57. >"Put me back together again."
  58. >What was it? What was the name? What had Justy tried to warn you about? Something, your Dad had done....
  59. >"Free me, Eris."
  60. >You couldn't! Not until you remembered..."
  61. >"FREE ME, YOU UNGRATEFUL WHELP!"
  62. >Your mind twists, and your trepidation disappears as you lift the head in your paw and talon.
  63. >You'd get to see your Daddy again!
  64. >You turn to the statue, and carefully place the terrified head in place.
  65. >A slow, steady light begins to pulse in the statue's chest, and the pounding quickens.
  66.
  67. Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8liPdLa0yc
  68. >His laughter fills the Everfree.
  69. >The stone cracks and shakes as your Daddy laughs, and you back away as the statue begins to shatter.
  70. >His wings free themselves first, as the body in the statue swells and twists, Discord's smile cracking the frozen expression of terror.
  71. >Stone falls from him like shedding scales as he rises before you, and at last, your fear returns.
  72. >You remember why he was trapped.
  73. >Chaos.
  74. >The Dark Gods.
  75. >Your Father was insane.
  76. >He spreads his arms to the sky and cackles as, unbidden, lightning strikes the Everfree from a clear sky.
  77. >The tree's bark runs like melted wax at Discord's presence, and you swear the grass wasn't candy-cane colored a second ago.
  78. >What have you done?
  79. >You curl protectively around Justy as your Dad finishes his laughter and leers down at you.
  80. >"You made that MUCH harder than it had to be, my dear. Such resistance, when all I wanted to do was come back to my beloved daughter."
  81. >He floats closer, and you back away.
  82. >His face contorts in an angered grimace.
  83. >"What did I do to get THAT reaction?"
  84. "You went nuts, Dad, that's what! You got our entire family imprisoned! And now I know why! The same thing that happened to Tirek and Grogar! You listened to Chaos."
  85. >He smiles as you continue backing away.
  86. >"Eris, Eris, Eris. Of course I listened. I should have been listening all along! Chaos is the way, Eris! It's the truth! It's what were created to spread! Come on, join me, as Father and Daughter in Chaos!"
  87. >He lunges for you, and you jump away, teleporting across the clearing with Justy.
  88. >You need to get awa-
  89. >A lion paw wraps around your shoulder, and your mind goes blank as an eagle talon taps your forehead.
  90. >"No more running, now. It's time to join the family business."
  91.
  92.
  93. >You wrap your arms around Discord, and snuggle close to him.
  94. "Daddy! I'm so glad you're back!"
  95. >"It's good to be back. And now it's time to wreak some Chaos!"
  96. >You whoop in happiness at the prospect of more Chaos, but something, you're not sure what, stops you from letting him go.
  97. "Daddy?"
  98. >His mouth twists in what you're sure was a smile and not an irritated grimace as he pauses.
  99. >"Yes, dear?"
  100. "What about Justy?"
  101. >His face darkens in what you're sure is embarrassment and not annoyance, before his mouth twists in a clever leer.
  102. >"I did promise, didn't I? Let's wake him up."
  103. >Discord floats over to Justicar and snaps his fingers, forming a stethescope as he leans over and puts an ear to Justicar's chest.
  104. >Discord mutters about rib-plates and organs before shrugging and snapping his fingers again, causing a yellow glow flows from his paws and soak into Justicar.
  105. >The Grey Knight spasms and coughs as Discord floats away, leaving you free to pounce on him.
  106. "JUSTY!"
  107. >"E-Eris? Where are we? What's going on? Why are you...what happened to you?"
  108. "Daddy just saved your life, you big lug!"
  109. >"Daddy..."
  110. >Justicar shifts his head as his thoughts come back together, and he struggles to rise.
  111. >Your patented pouncing hug keeps the weakened Knight pinned.
  112. >"Eris, you don't understand. I don't know what happened or how you forgot, but your Father is tainted by Chaos. He's a dang-"
  113. >You giggle at your friend's silliness
  114. "Of course he is, sillly! He's gonna spread Chaos' glory to the whole world!"
  115. >Justicar goes very silent.
  116. >As twisted as your mind currently is, whatever's left of the real you comes to the conclusion that you just fucked up royal.
  117.
  118.
  119. >Justicar surges up from beneath you, and you squeal in surprise as he grabs you by the midsection and aims his bolter at your face.
  120. >"Where. Is. Eris."
  121. >Each word brings the muzzle of the bolter closer, and you shrug your shoulders in confusion, even as you scream at yourself internally to just WAKE UP.
  122. >"Justy, Justy, I'm Eris! I'm right here! And I promise I'm real."
  123. >You reach out and run a talon along his faceplate before smiling at him sensually.
  124. >The real you is mortified.
  125. >Justicar brings you closer, rage boiling off of him.
  126. >"You havn't called me dude in the past four minutes and fifty seven seconds. That isn't you. What happened to you, Eris?"
  127. >You latch onto his words like a lifetime as you try to fight through the fog in your head.
  128. >"I'm just....this is me, Justy. Your good friend Eris. Here and happy and ready to-"
  129. >You lean over to lick him, and your last words are cut off as he hurls you away and turns on Discord, who's been watching the whole scene with a box of popcorn.
  130. >Justicar doesn't speak, he just charges Discord, bolter firing.
  131. >Your dear old Daddy snaps his fingers and teleports onto Justicar's shoulder, his eagle talon on the Knight's forehead.
  132. >"You remind me of a Sorcerer I once knew. Pity you humans are always so predictable, what with the punching and all that."
  133. >He grins as his talon slams into Justicar's forehead.
  134. >And Justicar punches him in the face.
  135.
  136.
  137. >Discord recoils, shocked.
  138. >"That's impossible! You can-"
  139. >Justy's second punch catches him in the eye.
  140. >Before Discord can fully recover, Justicar has both hands circled around your Dad's throat, choking the life from him.
  141. >The draconequus' flesh seems to blister at Justicar's touch, as the Dog Father did, and Tirek before him.
  142. >"Fix her."
  143. >"I don't know what you mea-"
  144. >Justicar's grip tightens.
  145. >"Fix her, or by the Emperor I swear your end will be slow and painful instead of quick and painful."
  146. >"Well that's...hrrrgh...real reassuring."
  147. >The Justicar only tightens his grip.
  148. >Discord snaps his fingers, and you watch as a great glowing light forms behind Justicar.
  149. >"Here, here, okay! I'll fix her!"
  150. >Justicar's grip loosens slightly.
  151. >"Then your end will be peac-"
  152. >A massive arm, black as night and crafted of metal, reaches from the portal and swings a colossal bladed staff into Justicar's back.
  153. >The force of the blow sends him hurtling into the dirt as Discord slithers free.
  154. >A black leg joins the arm as a gargantuan metal skeleton steps forward from the portal.
  155. >Discord smiles at the black figure.
  156. >"Well, buddy, 'bout time you got here. I was starting to think you'd never show."
  157.
  158. Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z27Vp9o_o0A
  159. >Justicar struggles to rise from the dirt.
  160. >As he raises his arm, the massive metal man slams one foot into Justicar's stomach, causing the Grey Knight to shout out in pain.
  161. >The metal creature speaks, his voice as old and as cold as a dying star.
  162. >"This is the creature you spoke of?"
  163. >Discord floats up next to the Necron Lord, altering his size so that he is shoulder to shoulder with the metal xenos.
  164. >"Perfect, isn't he? One problem, buddy of mine."
  165. >The Necron Lord looks at the draconequus.
  166. >"Your flimsy warp-trickery is too weak to bend him to our purpose?"
  167. >The Necron's cloak ruffles, and as you watch, individual pieces of the metal garment begin to shift and wriggle, growing legs and dropping from his back as they scurry towards Justicar.
  168. >"It does not matter. He will serve."
  169. >"Our greatest weapon."
  170. >"A perfect Knight."
  171. >"The Sorcerer's Bane."
  172. >The scarabs begin to burrow beneath Justicar's armor, moving between the cracks in the suit.
  173. >Then they begin to saw at his spine.
  174. >The Grey Knight's screams fill the air as the mindshackle scarabs begin their dark work, subverting Justicar's spinal cord and enslaving his body.
  175. >The Necron Lord moves his foot off of Justicar's twitching chest as Discord speaks over the screams.
  176. >"Here's where it begins. We're going to start a storm, my new friend. A storm that will scour this world until nothing is left but Chaos, eternal."
  177. >The Necron Lord remains silent, watching.
  178. >Discord smiles, and the Necron Lord turns to the still-twitching Grey Knight.
  179. >Tears run down your eyes, and to your frustration, you can no longer understand why.
  180. >"Justicar. Rise."
  181. >The Knight obeys.
