- Period 4 Mrs. Crown
- English 3 Honors
- Mrs. Crow
- All was fine in Lely High school that Monday. The children restless from staying up, the teachers
- bitter, and parents sighing relief for another seven hours of peace. The students dragging their feet as
- they heard the toll of the familiar class bell ring, making their way to their next class.
- For the juniors of Mrs. Crown’s fourth period English class, all was well. They were greeted by her at
- the door with a warm “Good Morning”. Un-like most teachers waiting at the desk, and some even late to
- class. Then as the late bell went off she made her way to the front of the class, and told the students
- their assignment for the day as they groaned. “Oh, Come on guys, it’s not much.” She smiled
- reassuringly. “You’ll have until Friday. I’ll be out Tomorrow though. You’ll be having a substitute”.
- Some students were pleased by the sound of this news, the rest? Indifferent. “Why will you be out Mrs.
- Crown?” one student asked, and in reply Mrs. Crown said, “Well, I’ll be riding up to Tampa to purchase
- this book I have been searching for for years. It’s the only one of its kind in the world.” The nose-y
- student pushed more questions at Mrs. Crown. “Oh, Really?! What’s the name? Sounds cool”. Mrs. Crown
- ignored the question. “Please start on your assignment, you have until Friday Class.”
- A couple of days passed, the bell rung signaling children to go to class. Mrs. Crown returned
- that day. Going to class, the students noticed that she wasn't outside her door to greet the students,
- but instead facing her whiteboard at the front of the room. The second bell sounded off and everyone
- sat. Mrs. Crown ceased to turn towards her students, “Today we have another test,” her voice didn't seem
- inviting and pleasant as usual, but bitter and crackly. The students moaned at the unexpected
- announcement. “Oh... did I mention that it was fifty pages?” The students were shocked and appalled at
- this. “Begin,” Mrs. Crown instructed. The students looked at their desks, a stack of paper on each. They
- were puzzled as to how they got there without notice, as their desks were empty as they walked into the
- classroom.
- That night concerned students decided to go check up on Mrs. Crown. Around 6 PM, they
- trespassed into the school grounds. As they entered the building, eerie and mysterious sounds echoed
- through the halls in the direction that Mrs. Crown's room was located. "I'm not really up for this
- anymore," one student exclaimed, and treaded outside the building. The rest scattered up to the doorway
- behind Mrs. Crown's room. They peaked through the fenced glass window into something completely eye-
- opening. Mrs. Crown sat in the middle of the room cross-legged above a black satanic star, the strange
- book floated in front of her, a page turning now and then. Candles dimly flickered across the room. One
- student took a single step back. Suddenly Mrs. Crown turned her head, the whole room and outside hallway
- turned pitch black. One light came on, what seemed to be Mrs. Crown standing right under it. The face
- was green, hair black and slick, sharp fangs held at the bottom of the creatures head, tentacles
- straight over them, arms seemed to be pale and rotting. "RUN!" The children bolted in the opposite
- direction of whatever stood before them. A screeching howl zipped in their direction, and it started to
- run after them. Every light in the other hallways that they crossed turned to black as they passed. Most
- escaped the school grounds and whatever seemed to have take its home there, except for one.
- The next day, all students and teachers showed up for school like usual. The bell went off again
- and Mrs. Crown's class started, the students that were there the previous night included, except for one
- that never escaped. Mrs. Crown yet again wasn't at her door to greet students, but again staring at the
- board. The students readied up for class again as the bell rung. "For today's assignment.." Mrs. Crown
- turned around, the strange book in hand, "your doom!" In a split-second the beast-Crown spawned, and
- started to maul on all the innocent, there were no survivors. The next day the head news line: "Lely
- Tuberculosis Killing Spree," stating that all attendees of Lely High School passed away from a spreading
- case of tuberculosis except for one person, Mrs. Crown.
