- [16:07] <ATtheorytime> Out from the Alchemiter comes a <Your text color here> Cube. The cube has no features on its faces whatsoever
- [16:07] <ATtheorytime> 2:29
- [16:07] <ATtheorytime> 2:28, etc.
- [16:07] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Same sube as a perfectly generic object?
- [16:08] <ATtheorytime> You don't know what that is
- [16:08] <Lyra[Strategist14]> I know Lyra doesn't, but I'm trying to understand what the scene is
- [16:08] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Is it a perfect cube, rounded edges, what?
- [16:08] <ATtheorytime> It looks about the same as the perectly generic object.
- [16:09] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "O... kay."
- [16:09] <ATtheorytime> <what is your text color!€
- [16:09] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Tyrian purple
- [16:09] <ATtheorytime> Ok
- [16:09] <Lyra[Strategist14]> #883333
- [16:09] <ATtheorytime> Continue
- [16:09] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra picks up the cube and examines it more closely
- [16:09] <ATtheorytime> It appears to be made of the same substance as the cylinder
- [16:10] <ATtheorytime> It is relatively lightweight and completely featureless
- [16:10] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra looks back at the uncarved cylinder she'd thrown aside, and picks it up to compare the two objects
- [16:11] <ATtheorytime> they are definitely the same material
- [16:11] <ATtheorytime> 2:20
- [16:11] <Lyra[Strategist14]> She tosses the cube into the air and catches it, attempting to see if it might be hollow or contain something inside
- [16:11] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Then does the same with the cylinder
- [16:12] <ATtheorytime> Both aren't hollow
- [16:12] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra tosses the dowel aside, and spends several seconds trying to think
- [16:12] <ATtheorytime> 2:15 Nothing insightful comes to you
- [16:13] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra then grabs the Perfectly Generic Object she'd accidentally alchemized before
- [16:13] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Any noticeable differences between the two?
- [16:14] <ATtheorytime> No
- [16:15] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra groans, tosses the PGO aside, and slams her Cruxite Artifact into the Alchemiter's surface as hard as she can, just to see what happens
- [16:16] <Lyra[Strategist14]> (I know she doesn't know any of those terms, but you get the idea)
- [16:16] <ATtheorytime> The Artifact harmlessly is deflected
- [16:17] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "Hmmph." Lyra draws her pen from her Strife Deck and attempts to scribble on the object
- [16:17] <ATtheorytime> The object is impervious to any form of writing or marking
- [16:18] <ATtheorytime> 2:05
- [16:18] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra blinks. Was there a step she missed?
- [16:18] <ATtheorytime> 2:03
- [16:18] <Lyra[Strategist14]> She looks to the Alchemiter, then flips the cruxite dowel upside down
- [16:20] <ATtheorytime> The dowel is unmarked, as are all faces of the cube
- [16:20] <ATtheorytime> 2:02
- [16:20] <Lyra[Strategist14]> There weren't any machines she missed, were there?
- [16:20] <ATtheorytime> *Meteoric Impact in the distance*
- [16:20] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra jumps
- [16:21] <Lyra[Strategist14]> The sudden movement also brings her attention to the floating orb
- [16:21] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "Red sphere, red cube." She mutters
- [16:21] <ATtheorytime> <Illuminati?>
- [16:21] <ATtheorytime> 1:58
- [16:22] <Lyra[Strategist14]> (Of course)
- [16:22] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "And the... thing..." She gestures to the Alchemiter she's standing on, "has a triangle drawn on it."
- [16:23] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra attempts to draw on the Alchemiter
- [16:23] <ATtheorytime> It has the same effect as drawing on stainless steel.
- [16:23] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "Huh"
- [16:23] <ATtheorytime> <Workable, but worse than paper>
- [16:24] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra frowns and wastes another several seconds thinking
- [16:25] <Lyra[Strategist14]> She then picks up the cube and throws it at the sphere
- [16:25] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Just to see which one gives
- [16:26] <ATtheorytime> The Sphere dodges abruptly out of the way and floats out of reach
- [16:26] <ATtheorytime> 1:50
- [16:26] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "So it's just a light source." Lyra muses. "That's actually pretty considerate"
- [16:27] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Then what does the CUBE do?
- [16:27] <Lyra[Strategist14]> A building block or something? A box, like the satan-tube was?
- [16:27] <ATtheorytime> 1:48
- [16:28] <ATtheorytime> Another meteor
- [16:28] <ATtheorytime> A bit louder this time
- [16:28] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra grabs the two unmarked cruxite dowels, the carved one, the PGO, and the cruxite artifact and attempts to stack them on top of one another
- [16:28] <Lyra[Strategist14]> The impact causes her to jump again, and the tower falls. She tries again
- [16:28] <ATtheorytime> Nothing happens
- [16:28] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "What IS that?"
- [16:29] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra looks to the source of the noises
- [16:31] <ATtheorytime> A plume of smoke and a crater in the distance
- [16:31] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "What the?" Lyra frowns.
- [16:31] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "A bomb or something?"
- [16:31] <ATtheorytime> 1:45
- [16:32] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra glances back at her father's car to make sure he's okay, then kicks over the tower
- [16:32] <ATtheorytime> Ok.
- [16:32] <ATtheorytime> 1:43
- [16:32] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "What ARE you!?" She shouts at the cube.
- [16:32] <Lyra[Strategist14]> and then kicks it again
- [16:33] <ATtheorytime> The cube is unharmed, but bounces a short distance
- [16:33] <ATtheorytime> You waste a while thinking
- [16:34] <ATtheorytime> 1:28
- [16:34] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra takes a deep breath, then walks calmly over to the cube
- [16:34] <ATtheorytime> ==>
- [16:35] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "Too slippery to write on, too rubbery to break."
- [16:35] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra withdraws her pen again, then attempts to stab into the cube
- [16:35] <ATtheorytime> The cubes is unharmed, your pen recieves a bit of a dent
- [16:36] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra puts her pen away, then tries to remember the contents of her sylladex
- [16:36] <Lyra[Strategist14]> - Laptop a short distance away
- [16:36] <Lyra[Strategist14]> - That book again
- [16:37] <Lyra[Strategist14]> - Earbuds, somewhere on the ground (inside the kernelsprite)
- [16:37] <Lyra[Strategist14]> - and her pile of souvenirs
- [16:37] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Nothing even remotely related to a cube.
- [16:37] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Great
- [16:37] <ATtheorytime> 1:20
- [16:38] <ATtheorytime> *The earth shakes as a meteor collides outside your house, closer than before*
- [16:38] <Lyra[Strategist14]> (Lyra isn't near her house - she's outside a gas station)
- [16:38] <Lyra[Strategist14]> (With her father sleeping in the car nearby)
- [16:39] <ATtheorytime> <My bad, I remember now>
- [16:39] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "Meteors. Freaking meteors." Lyra mutters as she finally sees the source of the noises.
- [16:40] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Then she starts to laugh.
- [16:40] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "At least I'll die quick, hah!"
- [16:40] <Lyra[Strategist14]> After several more seconds, Lyra looks back at the cube.
- [16:40] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "Now what the heck ARE you?"
- [16:41] <ATtheorytime> 1:10
- [16:41] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra looks over the machines once more.
- [16:41] <Lyra[Strategist14]> - Lathe; spins things around
- [16:42] <Lyra[Strategist14]> - Satantube; contains light source and cylinders
- [16:42] <Lyra[Strategist14]> - Space-arm platform; produces multicoloured cubes
- [16:43] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra attempts to fasten the cube into the totem lathe
- [16:43] <ATtheorytime> It will not fit
- [16:43] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra attempts to stuff the cube down the cruxtruder's tube
- [16:45] <ATtheorytime> <I see no reason for this not to work, but for the sake of the story, it doesn't>
- [16:46] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Bluh. Doesn't fit anywhere. Then where ELSE is there to bring the box?
- [16:46] <ATtheorytime> You have no idea
- [16:46] <ATtheorytime> There is NOTHING you can do to this stinking cube!
- [16:46] <ATtheorytime> 0:45
- [16:47] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra looks at her computer for a moment, just to confirm that it's still loading SABATH. Considering the apparent meteor apocalypse, it hardly matters anyway, but it's the game's fault she came out here in the first place
- [16:47] <ATtheorytime> *Meteoric impact, you are knocked to the ground by the shockwave from this one*
- [16:48] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra scrambles to her feet, then picks up the cube once more.
- [16:49] <ATtheorytime> <my b>
- [16:49] <ATtheorytime> 0:40
- [16:49] <Lyra[Strategist14]> She stares at it for a moment, then looks back to the floating strobe light.
- [16:49] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "I'm totally dreaming." She declares.
- [16:51] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra takes a closer look at the Totem Lathe
- [16:51] <Lyra[Strategist14]> There was still no apparent reason for those other wheels on it. Perhaps one of them would make the cube fit? It obviously had to go SOMEWHERE
- [16:52] <ATtheorytime> "Unless if it doesn't fit anywhere" a nagging thought says in the back of your mind
- [16:52] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra hums, totally lost.
- [16:52] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Wait
- [16:53] <Lyra[Strategist14]> The lathe had needed that card, right? So maybe the space-arm thing was also missing a piece
- [16:53] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra searches the ground around the Alchemiter, carrying her laptop with her as a light source
- [16:54] <ATtheorytime> Ok
- [16:54] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Nothing?
- [16:54] <ATtheorytime> 0:35
- [16:54] <ATtheorytime> Nada
- [16:54] <ATtheorytime> 0:30 for searching in depth
- [16:54] <ATtheorytime> Overhead
- [16:55] <ATtheorytime> A single star begins to grow larger than the rest
- [16:55] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra grabs one of the two uncarved dowels, and puts it on the Alchemiter's pedestal
- [16:55] <Lyra[Strategist14]> in an attempt to create another green cube.
- [16:56] <ATtheorytime> A message appears on the Alchemiter, "Not enough Grist".
- [16:57] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra blinks. What the heck is Grist?
- [16:57] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Oh, probably some subconscious stupidity. Lyra looks up at the looming 'star'
- [16:57] <ATtheorytime> A star is now far brighter and larger than the others
- [16:57] <ATtheorytime> 2:5
- [16:57] <ATtheorytime> 0:25
- [16:58] <ATtheorytime> It grows larger and larger as time passes
- [16:58] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "Fine." Lyra tells the star. "Screw it, and screw you."
- [16:59] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra kicks the cube off the Alchemiter, and lies down on it, using one of the uncarved dowels as a makeshift headrest
- [16:59] <Lyra[Strategist14]> She then positions her laptop to provide as much light as it can, and draws her book from her sylladex.
- [17:00] <Lyra[Strategist14]> The souvenir card empties itself all over the place.
- [17:01] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra re-captchalogues the stuff, takes another look at her father's car and then the star, and then opens the book.
- [17:02] <ATtheorytime> :15
- [17:03] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "There's a whole bunch of gas in here." Lyra announces. "Dad'll be vaporized instantly."
- [17:03] <ATtheorytime> The star is now very large in the night sky
- [17:04] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra smiles serenely. "There're worse ways to go."
- [17:04] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Then she laughs again
- [17:04] <Lyra[Strategist14]> "What does it say about me, that I'm dreaming about the apocaypse?"
- [17:04] <ATtheorytime> :5
- [17:05] <ATtheorytime> <Anything else you wanna do do it now
- [17:05] <Lyra[Strategist14]> Lyra begins to read Gestation.
- [17:05] <ATtheorytime> You only get halfway through the first page before
- [17:06] <ATtheorytime> You are transported away
- [17:06] <ATtheorytime> In transit to the medium
