Story: Have you ever looked in a mirror and hated everything you saw, from your fake face to your passive aggressiveness, to how you just go with whatever the people you like want to do so they like you? If so, hello future me! I hope you’re dealing whatever Amnesia you’re struggling with effectively, and if you want a better record than the Cliffnotes version that Ambitions of the Chained is on the desk in my room.
Anyways, if you’re not an amnesiac future me, I should probably explain what happened in this world. I guess it started normally enough, with a bizarre magical creature approaching Sayaka and asking for help with a massive disaster involving weird metaphysics and discount witches. We beat her shadow with little fanfare and a lot of talking, but then we ran into particularly large issue. Mine.
For you see, the average person has a lot of issues, especially if they have the kind that compound over time like trying to act like a better person so people like you, then worrying that if you ever stop acting they won’t like you anymore. So, as you can probably guess from the amount of time explaining, I didn’t have issues at this point as much as I owned the Newspaper, Ran the Blog, and expanded into Cable Television for 24/7 distracting myself from all the issues that built up in the last thousand years.
The First fight went fairly well, even if my attempts to ward it off by loudly yelling “I accept you” didn’t pan out. I had better equipment, even if she had all my powers and a working knowledge of all my tactics.
The issue came when it came to accepting myself. I almost managed it, but then I ended up getting caught up in “Will Sayaka still like me?” Scenarios, which lead to her making a recovery and fusing with Vida Von Novikov. At this point Sayaka joined in, and we managed to defeat her in an epic battle involving my doing my best to block attacks and Sayaka actually landing hits. Throughout the entire fight, she was trying to get me to accept myself, and after an hour of fairly circular combat, I eventually managed to realize that I could never really be happy while I’m lying to myself and ignoring everything I don’t like to the point where it becomes a colossal meltdown next time, rather than a physical incarnation that we can deal with. With this, I managed to face myself, and gained the Persona “Fortuna.”
