- Hey guys,
- Let's talk about my normal team for this week's challenge core.
- The core was Staraptor/Heliolisk.
- So, starting off with my Staraptor.
- In a Normal team, naturally, Staraptor's set should be the bulky set, to counter most of the physical sweepers and fogging away.
- A classic set, not much to say about it.
- Secondly, Heliolisk.
- As you can already guess, a special sweeper is coming through!
- With its great movepool, I played it to counter Water, Flying and Ground teams mainly.
- Surf/Grass Knot is enough to take on Ground teams. With Volt Switch, an awesome Electric stab w/ momentum, took care of Waters.
- But i've decided too to complete this core with Diggersby.
- Heliolisk with its ability (water immunity), a great thing for that can cover for diggersby.
- Mach Punches and such, are tanked by the Bulky Raptor.
- So, let's talk about Diggersby now!
- Diggersby's set isn't the scarf set that I use in my other Normal team but the banded set.
- The most powerful bunny! (M-Loplayboy can go home)!
- EQ/Frustration are standart on it.
- next I've put Knock off to take care of Psychic & Ghost Mons.
- Quick Attack is also in this set to have at least one STAB priority (Diggersby Quick attack is really a threat!)
- Here are a few calcs:
- 252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Diggersby Quick Attack vs. 16 HP / 0 Def Mega Medicham: 145-172 (54.7 - 64.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
- 252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Diggersby Quick Attack vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Thundurus: 169-201 (56.5 - 67.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
- 252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Diggersby Quick Attack vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Mega Charizard Y: 156-184 (52.5 - 61.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
- 252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Diggersby Quick Attack vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Latios: 153-181 (51.1 - 60.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
- As you can see, Diggersby's Quick Attack 2HKOs any sweepers, it's really a good thing!
- To complete the team, I picked M-Pidgeot.
- Why not M-Loppuny you ask?
- First off, I already Diggerbsy as my physical sweeper and secondly, I think M-Pidgeot is better to counter Fighting, and the currently most used type: Bug
- Classic set for this one too: Heat Wave/Hurricane to hurt stuff, Roost for perseverance, and U-Turn to switch safely on my 2 walls who are Porygon 2 and Chansey.
- Porygon2's and Chansey's set are also the standart and classic sets.
- Nothing to say about them except how great Foul Play on Porygon2 is! :D
- Why Foul Play?
- +2 252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Porygon2: 295-348 (78.8 - 93%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
