Johannes is a balla

<SpaceThor> The final dealer comes and sits down. "Well, sir, let's see if we can't keep that luck going." She's beautiful, blonde hair and blue eyes. She's either a trick of the light or has no business being in a pissant town like this.
<Johannes> "Hm, something tells me that's not quite why you're here."
* Johannes smiles and drums his fingers on the table.
<SpaceThor> "You had the veteran look about you. Well, only one of us is gonna be happy this evening then." She deals.
<Johannes> "It's a long story...shall we simply say duty called?"
* Johannes takes up his cards
* Johannes tests the waters with 100
<SpaceThor> It's not long before she takes those chips away from you.
<Johannes> "It always amazed me how something so solid can behave so liquid."
<SpaceThor> "They're like the tides. They come and they go."
* Johannes throws down another 100
<Johannes> "Not just in the casino, either.  A good deal of luck-of-the-draw in this world."
<SpaceThor> A few cautious gambles, and she takes them both.
<Johannes> "Maybe the mine you're in collapses, refining machinery takes your leg..."
<Johannes> SpaceThor: betting 100
* Johannes puts down 300 and smiles as the cards come up in his favour
<Johannes> "And sometimes you hit gold while digging around in your backyard."
<SpaceThor> She smiles. "Well, we'll just have to see where the chips fall.
<SpaceThor> She takes the next one, but it's a smaller bet
<SpaceThor> A flurry of smaller bets, and then a big one. She changes the decks unexpectedly, though, and the cards fall her way. "Oh, that's too bad."
* Adelisa_Merle smiles and heads over towards the table, shooting a stunning smile at the dealer...and really wishing they hand't swapped to a female dealer.
<Johannes> "It is, isn't it."
* Johannes collects on a second, even larger bet!
<SpaceThor> She frowns. "Ante up."
<Johannes> "But you know, I never liked gold personally.  Me, ah'm more of a gemstone kind of fellow.  Find them brighter, somehow."
* Johannes pushes the vast majority of his chips into the center of the table...700 scrip worth.
<SpaceThor> "Your ante, sir." She's got a bad feeling about this.
<SpaceThor> She bites her lip, and deals out the cards. An ace showing for Johannes, and a 7 for her.
* Johannes glances down at the cards and smiles quietly.
<Johannes> "I'll rest on the 21, thanks."
<SpaceThor> A face card for both of them. She has to hold, and blackjack for Johannes. Seventeen hundred scrip. The pit bosses are eyeing you hungrily.
* Johannes sighs and sets his drink aside.  Removing a small handkerchief from his pocket, he wipes his brow.
<Johannes> "I think that's more than enough excitement for my heart."
<Johannes> "Ma'am, you've all been wonderful hosts.  I think it's time for me to take my gemstone and head home."
<SpaceThor> "Are you certain? I'm sure there's something..." You're gone before she can continue.
* Johannes meets back up with Adelisa outside the casino.
<Johannes> "Well, that was quite the adventure."
