  7.
  8. Damn..... the Charybdis Centre of Species. I never thought I'd be writing about it in my journal as we're carted off to an off-world transport to take us to the centre of universal politics at large.
  9.
  10.
  11. (Taum): Hey, Cerato, what do you have there?
  12.
  13. (Cerato Falc): Oh, just my personal journal! I've been periodically documenting everything we've been learning throughout this journey we've embarked on! I'll just be tending to this latest entry for a bit until we get to the off-world port.
  14.
  15. (Taum): Alright, I'll make sure the others don't bother you then.
  16.
  17. (Cerato Falc)Thanks, Taum.
  18.
  19.
  20. Where was I? Oh yeah, Centre of Species!
  21.
  22. It's kinda incredible to think that there's a place where every sapient race in the universe gathers to discuss intergalactic relations, law, and other big important sounding words. I've heard of a few conflicting tales about how this cross-species embassy sitting on a floating carved-out asteroid first came into being, but it does seem like there's a few generally agreed-upon key points about what came first and how.
  23.
  24. The place was definitely discovered long after Varan The Unbelievable had laid waste to Shadow of Sunder. In the aftermath of the Reclamation Shadow War when the True Titans left the universe and the various races to their own devices, the centuries that followed were filled with tensions once the spoils of war had time to be properly filtered through the different civilizations and influence their overall sociological and technological advancement. I'm sure anyone who's read a good story about political strife would think that this is the part where I talk about how there was another massive war between everyone trying to vie for control and power.
  25.
  26. But that's why I'm the one well-read on universal history.
  27.
  28. Turns out that nobody wanted another war like the one that nearly destroyed everyone, at least not without any kind of assurances that it wouldn't get that bad. So the search for a good neutral ground that wasn't considered the territory for any sapient species was underway. It certainly wasn't easy now that traveling the stars was commonplace and new colonies were being established left and right like there was no tomorrow. Based on the historical records that Uncle Haw compiled on the subject, it seems like it was the Gamerans were the ones to discover the Charybdis System and the place where the Centre of Species would be constructed.
  29.
  30. Good thing, too, because I can't imagine any other race better suited for setting in stone the foundations for all intergalactic relations.
  31.
  32. If the Gameran records are to be believed, they might have been guided by the Guardian of the Universe himself in secret. Uncle Haw described this guidance as mere whispers in their explorers' minds that faintly nudged them in the right direction. When their ships breached from the Meta Veil, they stumbled upon the birthplace of Godzilla's dominion. This was obviously the biggest deal in the world, as this was history in the making in its own right finding the place where Humanity first truly began their ascent into the angelic order that would serve the True Titans.
  33.
  34. Legends had abounded in all corners of existence about the original location where Godzilla and Humanity began their war against the Old Gods by uniting the disparate tribes of Humans into a single holy army to be wielded as arrows in a quiver by the true masters of creation. Nobody had ever found it in full beforehand, only little remnants of it that floated off into the Veil over the millennia. And yet, whether through divine influence or simple luck, the turtle people found it.
  35.
  36. But the Gamerans saw the value in this location as entirely neutral and sacred space. Seeing as how they're the most cooperative and diplomatic of the many sapient species that inhabit this small universe, the descendants of Gamera shared this information with all other races and showed them the path to this legendary pocket of reality. Anyone who doubted their truthfulness was quickly proven wrong once they reached the star system that kickstarted Humanity's awakening to their true purpose.
  37.
  38. There were certainly arguments and tensions surrounding whether this would actually become the centre for universal politics, or if the sapient races would war with each other once more for control.
  39.
  40. This conundrum was swiftly resolved when a being of pure light revealed itself before the political representatives of all the species.
  41.
  42. Xeno'jiiva.
  43.
  44. The Dark Light Dragon's cocoon was discovered just beneath the surface of a seemingly innocuous asteroid that bordered the one the representatives had agreed to meet on. The juvenile Elder Dragon's emergence coincided with their meeting, a sign of divine providence. The rocky exterior surrounding it gave way like loose mud as the cocoon's light shone through brighter than any sun, and beams of pure energy shot out from the webbed membranous sac with the strength of an entire armada's cannons. Despite the intense and deadly beams of light forcing their way out of the cocoon, the political representatives weren't harmed at all. Yet another sign that this was the will of the True Titans.
  45.
  46. When Xeno'jiiva finally emerged, it spread its wings wide and began illuminating the entire Charybdis System, a beautiful butterfly of a dragon amid the ancient ruins and asteroid fragments.
  47.
  48. The Dark Light Dragon paid no heed to its visitors, as it sought only to explore its surroundings and absorb the abundant magical energies permeating the space around it to grow and mature.
  49.
  50. Despite being considered the infant reincarnation of the very first Old God that the Ruler of All Monsters ever faced in her journey to establishing universal peace and thus rightfully feared for its potential power, the fact that Xeno'jiiva was so passive and nonthreatening was taken as a sign to all the political representatives of the various sapient species that this star system was indeed the perfect place to set up a central governing body.
  51.
  52. So every race began contributing towards building up an embassy where representatives from each species would gather together to discuss political and economic relations and enact universal policies. While every individual sapient species was still ultimately beholden to their local governing authorities, the newly created Charybdis Centre of Species would act as the unifying centralized platform for interspecies collaboration and cooperation.
  53.
  54. And as for the Xeno'jiiva?
  55.
  56. Eventually, it moved on once it had fully matured and drained the system of most of its primary energy sources. It flew off to parts unknown, yet the individual has never raised its claws or breath against any of the civilizations. Some say that it's now an elderly Safi'jiiva, still alive all these centuries later somewhere in the unknown reaches of the Meta Veil.
  57.
  58. Okay, that'll end it for this journal entry. It looks like we'll arriving at the off-world port soon.
