"OH GOD I'M BECOMING BORED HELP ME"
>The soothing voice of Princess Star Butterfly rings out though the Diaz household
"I WON'T SURVIVE IT THIS TIME I SWEAR"
>You only barely fell for that the first time
>This is the 34th time
>In the past hour
>WHUMP WHUMP WHUMP
>Star rolls into your room head over heels
>She has a jump rope wrapped around her head and neck for reasons you can't be bothered to think about
>Star comes to a stop on her back and stares at you for several seconds
"Marco help"
"I told you Star, I have no idea what to do"
"Can we beat up that monster out there"
>You panic slightly and look out the window
" I already told you that's a guy in a mascot costume advertising the supermarket"
"So?"
"Star, the police were generous on the first assault charge, let's not push your luck"
>Star is dangerous when she gets bored
>And with her wand being taken away and all current monster threats eliminated the two of you haven't been busy
>Star is current making a noise that can only be described as a growl and rolling around on the floor
>You were trying to do homework but with someone as distracting as Star around that's not really possible
>Star hasn't had her magic to entertain herself, which, while making her dangerously bored, had meant you haven't been in the hospital this week
>So that's been an improvement

>Star rolls across the floor and ends up laying her head across your lap and staring at you again
>She sticks her tongue out
"Thhhhbbbbt"
>And just like that she combat rolls out the door again
>Star constantly finds new ways to be adorably weird
>THUMP THUMP THUMP
>Your bedroom door flies open with almost enough force to break it
"MARCO"
"Yes Star?"
"Feed me."
"We're out of food"
"NOT AN OPTION! Come on we're going outside"
"Where are you taking us Star?"
"Food"
>Don't even question things like that
"We're getting round cheese bread"
"You mean pizza"
"Some of the words you make up are really funny Marco"

>Star drags you all across town as you try to steer her towards one of the better pizza places in town
>Suddenly she freezes and gasps
>You really hope she's not set on this place
>Fredrick's Pizza, the place with rides and ball pits for children
"You don't want to go in there Star, that place is gross"
>She hasnt heard you, as sh's already crossed the 200 feet to the restaurant, gone inside, and started eating pizza
>Somehow
>That doesn't make any sense, even by Star standards
"UGGH about time you showed up!"
"Sorry Star, I'm not the fastest guy alive"
"Id certainly hope not!"
>The heck was that supposed to mean?
>You don't get an answer as Star has vanished again, and is wandering the arcade now
>You see her catch sight of the whack a mole game
>She seems curious, turning her head and looking at one of the holes intently
>The mole pops out, and star jumps backwards with a startled "Meep!", reaching for her wand she no longer has
>Once she comes to her senses she gives you a sideways glare as you're currently laughing at her
>Then things get violent
>Star grabs the mallet and begins whacking moles with extreme prejudice
>It's a bloodbath
"DIE DIE DIE"
>Parts of stuffing and rubber mole are flying everywhere until the machine collapses under Star's assault
>She drops the mangled mallet and leans on another machine, painting and disheveled looking
"You have fun?"
"Oh yeah Marco, that's the best way I've found to blow off steam besides-"
"HEY!"
>The store manager has you in his sights
>You realize that you both got in without paying, and broke a machine, and Star probably didn't pay for that pizza either
"CHEESE IT!"
>You both take off out the door with manager in pursuit, but not before Star grabs a pizza on the way out
"IM SORRY IM SORRY THIS IS MINE NOW I'M SORRY"
>After several minutes of running the two of you make it back home
>You both collapse on the floor laughing as you realize what happened.
"Those moles were asking for it"

>Even though you just broke many laws, you still have to admit that was really fun
>You and Star begin feasting on your ill-gotten gains
>It's not great as pizza goes, but there's no such thing as a bad free pizza
"Marco, think fast!"
>You look up just in time to see a piece of pepperoni hit you in the face
>You sit there with the meat product sitting on your cheek and glare in disapproval at Star
"Oh Marco youve got something on your face! Let me get that for you."
>Before you can react Star lunges across the table
>She pulls the pizza topping off your cheek
>With her mouth

"There we go, all better!"
>You can do nothing but sit in disbelief
>Today was already weird, now this
>You touch your now clean cheek
>Still unsure how to react to this
>Star is giving you a weird look
"What?"
"I... uhh... nothing. Just wasn't expecting that"
"Dont worry, I got you bro"
>She looks a bit flustered as well, but she's hiding it better than you
> The two of you just move on from what happened and have a normal rest of the evening
>You're not sure if you should read deeper into it or if it's just Star being Star
>Either way it's not worth worrying about really
>Its not like it was a bad thing

>The rest of the evening goes fairly normally
>Normal by Star standards, so pretty weird
>She's her usual spastic self
>You finish the last of your homework from the past week and help Star with hers
>She's actually very smart, she just has a hard time sitting still long enough to learn anything
>Star never pays attention in Skullnick's class, but she's much more attentive when you're helping her for whatever reason
>She's been grateful for all your tutoring, it's helped her pass math
>Not like she needs good grades, she's kinda already got it made with the whole interdimensional magic princess thing
>You're still happy to help
>Its impossible to not be happy around Star, really
>Her optimism and boundless energy are contagious
>Usually you've been quiet and reserved but with Star around you've been more adventurous
>A hell of a lot less safe, too
>That's been both good and bad
>The hospital visits were a bummer, but you have to admit it's been fun
>It occurs to you that Star coming in to your life is probably the best thing that's ever happened to you
>It's been life changing to say the least
"MARCO"
>You realize you've been staring into space for several minutes
"Are you okay Marco?"
"Yeah Star, I'm fine."
"I thought your brain melted. That's happens sometimes to the townspeople back on Mewni"
"Seriously"
"Yeah, or so I've heard at least. They're usually fine."

>Star is currently trying to understand trigonometry
>She has this focused and scrunched look on her face and you have to admit it's adorable
>Star is always pretty cute
>She wears your Dr. Marco glasses every so often and you feel like your heart is gonna explode when she does
>Of course, you don't let on how cute you think she is, don't want to make things weird
>Star is giving you a weird look again
>Dammit, so much for not making things weird
"See something you like?"
"I... uhhh.. um"
>Stop stammering dammit you're making it worse
"Pff I'm just kidding Marco! Of course you do!"
"Oh you know it Star, I just lost myself in your eyes"
>Ah sarcasm, the time honored defense mechanism you've come to love
>What Star said is exactly what happened but she doesn't know that
>She laughs it off and the two of you finish the last of the math
"Well I think we've earned a break. Movie?"
>This is odd, Star never wants to watch movies because she can't sit still for more than a picosecond
>Either way you'll take it
"Wow Star, you actually want a movie? Something wrong?"
"Oh ha ha Marco, i can actually sit still, I just choose not to all the time."
"We'll see about that"
"Oh you want to bet?"
"Bring it, Star."
>This should be good
"Fine. If I can sit still through an entire movie you have to do one thing for me. No questioning it"
>Victory is assured
"Deal. What movie are we watching?"
>She ends up picking a dumb POV horror movie, Abnormal Activity or something
>You start the movie
>Let the bet begin

>This movie is terrible
>It's just some jackass running around shaking a camera
>Star is being much more entertaining
>She's basically vibrating in place trying not to run around the house
>But she's holding it somehow
>It's starting to rain outside now
>Distant thunder rumbles outside
>It starts to occur to you that Star might not be shaking because she's hyper
>Her eyes are wide and she's sweating bullets
>Is she actually scared?
"You okay Star"
"Yeah yeah I'm totally great! Hahaha!"
>She's not totally great
"You sure?"
"Marco shush I'm trying to watch the movie!"
>Now you're kinda worried about her
>You've never seen Star like this before
>To her credit, she does sit still through the whole movie
>As it wraps up you and Star get ready for bedtime
>Star seems on edge
>She tenses up every time thunder strikes
>You feel bad but you're not sure what to do about it
"Well, night Star, see you tomorrow"
"N-night Marco"
>You catch a glance from Star as you shut your door
>It looks almost...pleading?
"You sure you're okay?"
"Y-yes Marco everything's fi-"
>Lightning hits the house behind yours, the earth shattering bang shaking you both to the bone
>After you come to your senses you realize Star is now wrapped around you in fear
"MARCO I'M SCARED!"
>She's shaking and you think she's actually crying
>You put your arms around to comfort her
"It's okay Star, it's just a movie"
"I'm still scared Marco..."
"Why, you're a princess with magic powers. You can take anything."
"Not without my wand... I'm powerless Marco. I don't have anything special without my magic"
>You didn't think she had an issue like this
"You don't have nothing, Star. You have me. I'll always here for you. And even without magic, when we work together, we can do anything. Monsters or otherwise, as a pair we're unstoppable."
>She looks up at you with those big, beautiful, blue eyes
"You mean that? You'll always be there for me?"
"Yes. Always."
"Good. Because I'm staying with you tonight"

"Ummm"
"Too late, it's happening! Sleepover!"
>Star has somehow gone past you and is getting in your bed
"Well I refuse to leave my bed so you'd better stay on your side"
>Luckily your bed is big
"Aww. Fine. Was hoping to cuddle for a little bit"
"I'm sorry Star but girls are icky, can't do it"
>Luckily Star seems to be back to her usual bubbly self
"Hey Marco?"
"Yeah Star?"
"What is it you like so much about Jackie anyway?"
>That question was a bit out of left field
"Well she's...just...she really cool I guess?"
>Wow, you never realized that you don't have a solid answer to that
>Beyond what's superficial you don't really know Jackie at all
"Just cool?"
>Try to think of something dammit
"Well i guess I might be just imagining her as what I'd want her to be, but when you love somebody i guess you just kinda feel it you know?"
"Oh trust me Marco, I know"
>Two can play at this game
"What do you like about Oscar?"
"Ummmmm....he's cool? I'm not really interested in him anymore."
>You feel relieved for some reason
>Were you jealous of Oscar and only just now released it?
"Are you interested in anybody Star?"
"Well there's this one guy... he's really great and I love him but he's...focused on somebody else. I don't have the courage to tell him"
>You wonder who she's-Oh.
>OH.
>You. The realization hits like a ton of bricks.
>Star loves you
>And god dammit, you love her too. You've just been too distracted to realize it until now
"Well whoever he is, I know he'd be honored to hear that"
"You think so?"
>You tentatively reach out and grab her hand, feeling her tense up under your touch
"I know so."
"Hey Marco, you know that thing you have to do for me?"
>Before you can respond Star scoots back and presses up against your chest, wrapping your right arm over her and pulling it right to her chest
>You feel her let out a content sigh as her head rests under your chin
"This'll do fine."
>You drift off to sleep with your newfound love in your arms

>You wake up after the best night of sleep you can remember
>What a strange dream though
>You come to your senses and realize that it wasn't a dream, as Star is still firmly pressed against you, lightly snoring as you feel the warmth from her body run through you
>Every delicate breath she takes pushes you closer together
>So much for getting up
>Not that you'd ever want to
>You could stay here all day
>Star stays out for what you guess is probably a half hour
>You're so happy it feels like 30 seconds
>As she is roused from her slumber she lets out a little yawn and stetches out
>like you, she then realizes where she is
>Once she does she lets out a happy little sigh and leans back into you
"Morning Marco"
"Morning Star"
>She rolls over and looks into your eyes with a smile on her face
>You don't say anything to each other
>Words aren't necessary
>You stare into those beautiful blue eyes for what feels like hours
>It's almost like you don't even need to talk to communicate, like you're bonded together at the very soul
>It's simply the best feeling in the world
"You're being weird and staring at me again Marco"
"I know. Nothing else I'd rather do."
"Same here."
>You can't look away
"Hey Marco?"
"Yes?"
>Star moves forward and kisses you
>This was unexpected
>The two of you hug and hold the kiss you never want to end
>Reluctantly you both pull away to breathe
"I love you Marco"
"I love you too Star."

 >Ugh, school today, you just want more time to hang out with Star
>Through some incredible force of will you manage to unspoon yourself from Star and get ready for the day
>The beginning of the morning is spent staring at each other again
>This might look kinda weird at school
>You don't care
>You and Star wall to school together like always, except this time you're holding hands
>She's skipping along, happy as can be
>She's rambling on about nothing really in particular
>You finally arrive and head to class
>Oh shit it's Jackie
>You're not sure how to react to this
>She looks at you and Star together, then gives a slight smile before heading on her way
>You can't help but feel sort of sad that you've lost your chance with her
>But you have Star now and youre damn happy about it
>The aforementioned princess is looking at you with a somewhat worried expression
"Don't worry Star, I'm over her. I've got you now"
>You give her a quick kiss, which seems to set her at ease
"Good, because on Mewni it's customary to kill rivals who try to steal your mate"
"Good one Star"
"I wasn't kidding"
>Oh man that could've gone badly
>You'll try to give Jackie some more space
>For her own safety
>Wait, did Star say mate?
