You all go to Holmes High School, or HHS for short. Its just one of many metropolitan highschools in New Ferry.

[19:20:06] <~Aeros> Your Tsukaima seems to be anywhere it wants to be. its a dog-like creature with four silver eyes and dark blue fur, almost black. its tail is longer than its body, but it seems to float around as if the air was water. its name is Kirin, and he is the one who gave you your powers.
  5. [19:24:11] <~Aeros> Saki and Karis: you both know each other as well as Ruby as Magical girls. Today is just another day at school, but Ruby seems a bit off today during History when you see her. she keeps staring at you two.
  6. [19:25:03] <~Aeros> after class, Ruby goes up to Karis (go on)
  7. [19:25:19] <~Aeros> the class is clearing out quickly, as its lunchtime now.
  8. [19:25:58] * Ruby clears her throat and asks Karis, "Hey, dork. Did you get your face fixed or something? You look totally different."
  9. [19:26:21] * Karis_Valmere 's hand wraps around a cool emerald crystal as she tries to gather herself. "different how?"
  10. [19:27:24] <Ruby> "Um, in every way? Like I don't remember you... nevermind, maybe I'm mistaken."
  11. [19:27:55] * Saki gathers up her books and notebooks, deliberately taking time so she can watch the other two interact
  12. [19:28:31] <Karis_Valmere> "maybe that dog is messing with your head a bit." Karis will smirk as she glances at Saki.
  13. [19:30:20] <~Aeros> (by the way, you all have 1 oblivion seed each)
  14. [19:30:22] * Saki lets herself smirk as she looks back at karis, although she quickly disengages
  15. [19:30:25] <Ruby> "Maybe... I'll have to ask him, though I can't expect a straight answer."
  16. [19:31:27] <Karis_Valmere> "can you ever? Hey Saki, wanna grab lunch?"
  17. [19:31:34] <Ruby> "Guess Karis is just a really common name among dweebs. Smell ya later." Ruby walks off to lunch, staring Saki down as she passes.
  18. [19:32:49] * Saki returns ruby's look with a typically cold look and then her face transforms into a friendly expression when facing karis "yeah, sure. But i need to collect some medicine"
  19. [19:34:06] <~Aeros> moving onto lunch, Ruby sits with her bros Rei and Sakura, while Saki, Karis, and Kasuga sit together. Saki has her pills on her tray as well as her food.
  20. [19:34:27] <~Aeros> Rei seems to fidget a bit during lunch, but Sakura is as boisterous as ever.
  21. [19:35:28] <Karis_Valmere> "...and then the duck goes, 'got any grapes?'" Karis can barely keep from cracking up as she finishes the joke.
  22. [19:36:06] * Ruby turns her head to face Sakura and asks, "I don't suppose you've seen Kasuga today have you? She's supposed to be bringing the Gatorade to practice today."
  23. [19:36:28] <~Aeros> Kasuga gives that creepy monotone laugh she does, her black hair falling flat over one eye
  24. [19:37:11] <~Aeros> Sakura raises an eyebrow to Ruby, "Whats with Kasuga today? And its my turn to bring the Gatorade. That girl isn't even on the team."
  25. [19:37:16] * Saki swallows the pills, and washes it down with some juice, while watching the others chatter
  26. [19:38:20] <Ruby> "Oh. Guess I've got the wrong day and said the wrong name. You know how that happens sometimes, right Rei?"
  27. [19:39:06] <~Aeros> "Erm..." Rei starts off, but Sakura interrupts, "Is that some sort of joke today Ruby? Rei asked earlier. I don't like jokes i'm not in on."
  28. [19:40:27] <Ruby> "You're right, it's National Exclude Sakura From Jokes Day. We decided to get the festivities started a bit earlier than usual."
  29. [19:40:48] <~Aeros> Kasuga looks at Saki, "...Will you be good with..." She stares of into space, then snaps back, "Oh, uh, hitting the mall, later?"
  30. [19:40:55] <Karis_Valmere> "So Kasuga...you got anything going on tonight? Dad finished assembling the football table!"
  31. [19:41:14] <~Aeros> "Hah. Funny." Sakura rolls her eyes and goes back to her meal.
  32. [19:41:17] <Ruby> "They'll really get going in practice though, when the joke we 'exclude' you from is shoving ice down your pants."
  33. [19:41:53] * Saki nods "I needed to look at the bookstore and some stationary"
  34. [19:42:21] <~Aeros> (you mean foosball?)
  35. [19:42:22] <Karis_Valmere> "I'll come with if you'll have me. Foosball can wait."
  36. [19:42:59] <~Aeros> "Cool, i suppose we can...foos around later. Huhuhuhu..."
  37. [19:43:32] <~Aeros> Sakura rolls her eyes again, punching ruby in the arm, laughing.
  38. [19:44:13] * Karis_Valmere makes a weird face with her mouth, but doesn't say anything.
  39. [19:45:07] * Ruby resumes eating her lunch, and asks her friends between bites, "Remember those nerds who tried to be my friend a while ago? I think one of them tried to make herself pretty like us, she looks totally different now. Not saying she succeeded though."
  40. [19:45:10] * Saki feels the corner of her eye twitch from the joke
  41. [19:46:08] <~Aeros> "Ah yeah yeah..." Sakura munches her sandwich, not really listening.
  42. [19:46:13] <~Aeros> that evening after school, practice for Ruby is like normal, except they've got another girl on the team in place of Kasuga.
  43. [19:46:43] <~Aeros> at the mall, they're having a lot of sales, due to it being close to summer vacation.
  44. [19:48:08] <~Aeros> however, there is a...slight distortion in the air. only Saki and Karis seem to notice it, signalling that there is a probably a Youma nearby.
  45. [19:48:17] * Karis_Valmere catches up to Saki in the stationery shop. "you feel that?"
  46. [19:48:56] * Saki nods and looks around "The air, it stinks"
  47. [19:49:01] <~Aeros> At practice: Rei catches Ruby, "Ruby...can I talk to you?"
  48. [19:49:28] <~Aeros> She speaks in the quiet voice she normally speaks in, but it sounds a bit...unnerved.
  49. [19:50:22] * Ruby turns to look at Rei and responds in her normal voice, not sensing anything wrong, "Sure, what's up?"
  50. [19:50:43] <Karis_Valmere> "I know." Karis nods, slipping a soft glowing necklace around her. "you feel alright? Last time you took a nasty header."
  51. [19:50:54] <~Aeros> "Whats...going on? Yesterday, this morning I thought...wasn't Kasuga on our team?"
  52. [19:51:03] <~Aeros> "You said it at lunch so I thought..."
  53. [19:51:34] <Ruby> "Yeah, I thought so too. Maybe she and Sakura are the ones playing a lame joke on us?"
  54. [19:52:04] <~Aeros> "But...its not just her...my English teacher's hair is Blonde...it used to be brunette...Little things..."
  55. [19:52:04] * Saki unconciously touches her head brushing where the wound was "Physical wounds always heal fast... i'm okay"
  56. [19:53:26] * Ruby looks around to check if anyone's listening in before continuing, in a lower voice, "Yeah, and one girl in my class... no trace of her. Another looks entirely different now, like someone just stole her identity."
  57. [19:53:41] <~Aeros> so Saki, Karis; there are still lots of people around, gonna do anything about that youma feeling?
  58. [19:53:58] <Karis_Valmere> "regardless, don't do anything until you see the youma..." Too many people nearby...
  59. [19:54:15] <~Aeros> Ruby: "Its scary but...its like...it was all a dream before maybe? Deja vu or something."
  60. [19:55:55] <~Aeros> the youma fails to show itself during your whole shopping trip, but its always faintly there, the distortion. "...I guess thats what you call a search-sessful shopping trip." Kasuga says at the end; she had troubles finding the things she wanted, but she's leaving with a few bags of clothes.
  61. [19:56:05] <Ruby> "Maybe. Maybe tomorrow we'll wake up and not be ourselves too. You'll be on the debate team and I'll have glasses and be 4 feet tall. Won't that be something?"
  62. [19:56:28] <~Aeros> "No. please don't say that. I already feel like i'm forgetting."
  63. [19:56:54] <~Aeros> Sakura comes over, piping up, "Hey guys, come on! Coach is yellin at us."
  64. [19:57:39] * Saki waits until nobody is looking and heads towards a service door
  65. [19:58:02] <Ruby> "Let us know when something new happens, ya git!" Ruby shouts back at Sakura. Then she adds quietly to Rei, "Sorry. Just remember that you're not alone, 'kay?"
  66. [19:58:30] <~Aeros> inside the door is a long hallway that connects to a lot of the backends of the shops.
  67. [19:58:32] * Karis_Valmere follows, excusing herself to "take care of a private matter"
  68. [19:58:39] <~Aeros> Rei nods, and Sakura scoffs.
  69. [19:58:39] <Karis_Valmere> "what's wrong?"
  70. [19:59:12] <~Aeros> in the service hallways, you hear a faint ticking sound.
  71. [20:00:05] * Ruby goes out to half-listen as the coach yells at them, thinking instead about that bizarre dream.
  72. [20:00:36] <Karis_Valmere> "saki? Answer me...I don't like this..."
  73. [20:01:59] <~Aeros> Down the hallay, Karis and Saki see a child in rags; he's crying.
  74. [20:02:06] * Saki leans against the wall, glancing around "It could be after us.."
  75. [20:03:32] <~Aeros> he passes from one hallway, looking around, before going on down another.
  76. [20:03:32] <Karis_Valmere> "you're getting paranoid...are you okay?" Karis will squat down next to the child, hand outstretched.
  77. [20:03:48] <Karis_Valmere> "hey, wait up!"
  78. [20:04:33] <~Aeros> He jumps in fright. freezing in place, "A-am I in trouble?" He seems to be dressed in dirty and tattered clothes.
  79. [20:04:42] * Saki pulls a grim expression "when was the last time you saw a kid in rags.. in a mall like this.." feeling a jump in her chest, supisions sneaking
  80. [20:05:11] <~Aeros> He looks between you two.
  81. [20:05:31] <Karis_Valmere> "you aren't in trouble...what's your name?"
  82. [20:05:49] <~Aeros> "Ben...I'm not supposed to talk to strangers."
  83. [20:07:04] <Karis_Valmere> "well then Ben...I'm Karis, and this is my friend. Did you get lost?"
  84. [20:07:18] <~Aeros> "N...No. My mommy is lost."
  85. [20:07:29] * Saki remains a few paces back, looking disapproving
  86. [20:08:04] <Karis_Valmere> "okay...where was the last place you saw her?"
  87. [20:08:25] <~Aeros> "Here..."
  88. [20:09:40] <Karis_Valmere> "what about your daddy? Do you know where he is?"
  89. [20:09:42] <~Aeros> the ticking seems to be louder as you talk to the child.
  90. [20:09:46] <~Aeros> He shakes his head.
  91. [20:10:07] * Saki glances around, trying to discern the source
  92. [20:10:17] <~Aeros> the source doesn't seem to be determinable.
  93. [20:10:35] <~Aeros> its just...ticking. like a clock.
  94. [20:11:03] <~Aeros> "Momma..." He begins sobbing again.
  95. [20:11:21] <Karis_Valmere> "Ben? Maybe we should get out of here. Then maybe a police officer can help?"
  96. [20:11:51] * Saki feels her skin crawling, like a sixth sense is being clawed at
  97. [20:12:23] <~Aeros> "No...I can find her." he sniffs.
  98. [20:12:39] <~Aeros> He takes a few steps away from you two.
  99. [20:12:46] * Saki tenses
  100. [20:12:58] <Karis_Valmere> "come on...do you hear that ticking? Know what it is?"
  101. [20:13:11] <~Aeros> "I don't hear anything!" he says quickly.
  102. [20:14:02] <~Aeros> He takes a few more steps away from you, frightened.
  103. [20:14:19] <Karis_Valmere> "are you sure?" Karis will gently nudge towards the boy.
  104. [20:14:21] * Saki glances behind
  105. [20:14:36] <~Aeros> "...Uh huh..."
  106. [20:14:39] <~Aeros> Nothing behind you.
  107. [20:15:41] <Karis_Valmere> "look...we aren't supposed to be here. We can come back later...but I don't want you getting lost."
  108. [20:16:16] <~Aeros> "I'm not lost...I'm looking for mommy...!"
  109. [20:16:46] <Karis_Valmere> "but if you *do* get lost...what happens? Come with us...please?"
  110. [20:17:10] <~Aeros> "..." he starts running away from you
  111. [20:17:33] * Saki hand whips out and grabs Karis's shoulder
  112. [20:18:02] <~Aeros> He runs
  113. [20:18:05] <~Aeros> the ticking gets fainter
  114. [20:18:06] <Saki> "Don't trust it, something isn't right... it could be playing with our senses again.."
  115. [20:18:13] <Karis_Valmere> "wai!" Karis wants to chase but Saki stops her "what is your problem?"
  116. [20:18:32] <Saki> "listen... the ticking stopped"
  117. [20:19:17] <Karis_Valmere> "it...it sounded like a bomb..." Karis shudders, realizing she was right.
  118. [20:19:50] <~Aeros> so girls, doing anything
  119. [20:19:55] <~Aeros> or just gonna leave the mall for now?
  120. [20:19:57] * Saki looks a little scary "i'd have tried to kill it already, if i was alone..."
  121. [20:20:39] <Karis_Valmere> "...you busy tonight?"
  122. [20:20:58] * Saki shakes her head
  123. [20:22:18] <~Aeros> alright you two
  124. [20:22:22] <~Aeros> do you tell Ruby about this?
  125. [20:22:35] <Karis_Valmere> "okay, I think it's time for a stakeout. Call Ruby, and meet me here at 11 tonight."

  127. [20:24:03] * Saki reaches into her pocket and taps out a text message "I'm not talking to her. But texts don't count"
  128. [20:24:29] <~Aeros> alright, just to get things moving
  129. [20:24:32] <~Aeros> Ruby; you joining them?
  130. [20:24:47] <Ruby> I will join them, yeah.
  131. [20:25:04] <~Aeros> kk
  132. [20:25:19] <~Aeros> you three meetup at the mall; the distortion feels larger now that there aren't many people
  133. [20:25:38] <~Aeros> its definitely coming from inside
  134. [20:26:26] * Saki takes a breath, feeling the distortion in the air "we should have tried to kill it while it was vulnerable"
  135. [20:26:43] <Karis_Valmere> "you two ready? I didn't exactly plot out all the blind spots so be careful."
  136. [20:26:58] <Ruby> "Should've but didn't. Now I'm here so we can finally get things done."
  137. [20:28:44] <~Aeros> inside its a lot worse...little springs and cogs float through the warped cooridors. only one or two at first, but when you get into the center of the mall, they're as big as wheels
  138. [20:29:36] <Ruby> "Let's go ahead and transform so that when we find this thing we can take it down quickly."
  139. [20:29:36] <Karis_Valmere> "I'd rather let ten youma live than kill one normal out of paranoia." Karis grips her pendant as she continues.
  140. [20:29:51] * Saki looks around, wondering where the security have gone
  141. [20:30:30] <~Aeros> you actually see a security officer walking around, oblivious to the floating clock parts and the constant ticking.
  142. [20:30:52] <~Aeros> he doesn't notice you however.
  143. [20:32:54] * Ruby continues forward cautiously, and places two fingers from each hand on her forehead. With her next footfall her shoes become winged lace-up sandals, and her clothes become a pure white gown held down by a bronze breastplate. A gold headband with a ruby in the center forms on her head, and a basketball appears in her hand. "Let's drive this to the hole."

[20:36:08] * Saki transforms herself, becoming enveloped in shadows and darkness, suddenly cracking like an egg... arms and legs bandaged in black/purple ribbons, a dress formed out of dark material, that might as well be shadows themselves. another ribon, tied in a bow around her neck and some sort of hat that's similar to a witches, but far more like a pyramid rather than the traditional conical shape
  149. [20:37:15] * Karis_Valmere clutches the pendant around her neck, magic flaring up until her mortal form can no longer contain it. Pale green light colored her short sleeved, form-fitting shirt and pleated miniskirt, silvery thigh high boots and gloves completed the outfit. In her hand was an azure bow, held deftly as she scanned the area.

  177. [20:58:32] * Ruby holds the ball in both hands and gets her back to the wall, observing the cogs. (Holding action)
  178. [20:58:58] <~Aeros> the cogs seem normal, fading in and out.
  179. [20:59:05] <~Aeros> the boy's body still ticks

  181. [20:59:48] <Karis_Valmere> "someone check his body! Make sure there isnt a bomb on his chest!"
  182. [21:00:49] * Saki uses the ribbons to slice the clothing away from the boy
  183. [21:01:38] <~Aeros> his body is...oh god. there are large chunks of his body that seem to be mutated into clockwork. he is still very dead though, as the clockwork doesnt move.
  184. [21:01:57] <~Aeros> he also has a toy on him, it looks like an alarm clock with arms and legs, and a smily face on its face.
